Monday 9/5, Was day 2 of painting. Had to go get more tape from Home Depot and then home to start the process of taping all over again, this time the walls though. And even though I made sure to push extra hard on the tape so that the paint wouldn’t run, it still leaked through in a lot of places. Curses. Now I have to go through and do major touch ups. Grandpa came over to do electrical stuff and Mom came over to help paint the ceiling. Got through it pretty fast with B doing touch ups on the walls and painting the railing and hardware, while Mom used the roller and I did edges. Finished that pretty quickly, Mom left, I helped Grandpa with the light in the entry for like 1.5 hours then he left, I ate some food, then went upstairs to warm up and finish up OC Season 2. Went grocery shopping after that while B continued on the railing and hardware. I made curry for dinner which B had seconds of, and then we had some ice cream, watched some tv and he left to go home. I relaxed for the rest of the evening and watched Working Girl cause Peggy said I had to see it, then I took a shower and went to bed. It was an extremely productive weekend. Can’t wait to finish it!
Sunday 9/4, Was going to be the beginning of painting the entry/stairway, so we headed out to Target and Home Depot early, with a side trip to QFC for breakfast. Got some cables, cleaning supplies then to Home Depot for paint. Got my paint mixed, spray paint, drop cloth for the stairs, and some rollers and we were off to begin. First things first when I got back: had to take the purple tapestry off the ceiling and shit off the walls. So B and I start taking the purple thing down and spiders are like parachuting out of it all over the place so I start screaming and B tells me to go do something else while he takes care of it. Then I had to vacuum the walls and ceiling cause there were so many cobwebs and spiders lurking. Then I began the long process of taping off the stairs and ceiling, called Kay-See to invite her over for painting fun, and took off the railing. I made lunch for B and I then Susan left not too much after. I hadn’t finished taping when Kay-See showed up and I had use Susan’s tape for the last bit of taping, then the fun began. The three of us busted ass in that stairway and got all of the walls done in record time. With the help of some Chex Mix and some fun stories, mind you. After K left we went to PCC to pick up fixins for Fajitas, which B prepared and were delicious, minus the corn tortillas. After dinner we relaxed and watched some OC, then went to bed.
Saturday 9/3, We got up bright and early, ate some breakfast and headed out the door to go run some errands. First we were off to Storables for some containers to put under my bed, though one won’t work for that cause it’s too tall so it’s going to go in the garage instead. Second it was off to Best Buy where I picked up a wireless network card and router so I can be wireless. Brandon and I strategically named my network “Guy on Guy”, very appropriate for Susan and me. After that we went to B’s cause he forgot to bring his drill and we also picked up his DVD shelf he was giving me, then we went to the hardware store for some brackets to bolt all of that shit together so it doesn’t fall on me while I sleep. B worked on the network stuff while I continued the quest for organization. B didn’t have the right drill bit so we decided to go to lunch at XXX and then to Home Depot for him to buy one. Decided to go see Mr. and Mrs. Smith but stopped by Mom’s first to see the display she created and eat a little food, then it was up to the Admiral. It was an ok movie, I love BP and AJ so it was at least good for that. We got back to my house around 9:30 or so and I cleaned until about 10:30 which felt so good when it was done and then we went to bed…extremely exhausted.
Friday 9/2, I was very excited to begin the process of purging my house of what’s his name. Peggy let me leave early and as soon as I got home I immediately started moving a lot of my stuff into the 2nd room to make space for rearranging. Susan came over and we talked while I bustled stuff from one room to the other. She was also there to witness my “bookcases plan” fail, but it’s ok cause I found another way to do it and I like it better. B got there and helped me move my bed and we talked and moved other stuff until about 11. For dinner we tried the little Mexican place by N. American and it was good, though a little slow. By the time we got into bed it was after 11 but I was very pleased with how much I had accomplished.
