Wednesday 1/18, I set the alarm for B to get up early, but forgot to turn it on, whoops. We woke up at 7:20 when he was supposed to be up at 6:45, I felt terrible. After work I did some laundry and lounged until it was time to go to B’s. Susan was gone so I had the house to myself for a little while. I made some pasta for dinner and watched more SaTC (Season 4, Carrie and Aidan just got back together!). I finally put a little makeup on and headed out the door at 7:15. At B’s we just laid on his bed and talked, then Chrystol and Schuyler were in the hall laughing at the prospect of walking in on B an I making out without my shirt on and how our conversation would go. We had some cheesecake cause it was Jason’s birthday, yum. I left B’s at 9:10 and headed down to the Crocodile for Jason’s show. I found parking about 2.5 blocks away and all my posse was there waiting for me so that was good. Some guy named Ryan was staring at me so I was like “HI!” cause it was freaking me out, then he was all “You look familiar, do I know you?” I said I didn’t think so, then he asked me if my name was Katie, I said no it was Karrah, then he said I look like a Kate. He also asked me if I was in some band, but I, of course, am not. He was kind of cute and if I didn’t have a bf I might have thought he was cute, but I do, so I didn’t. He had his labret pierced though, that’s kind of hot. Talked to Richrd for quite a while and chatted with Jason for a few minutes, then went in for the show. I don’t think his microphone cord was long enough to reach us, which was good, so he sang to some other people for a change. Saw Alex and Amber, Roy, Jeremiah and Steve’s mom grinding on his dad, it was pretty funny. Last night’s show was probably the best that I’ve ever seen of his, though he didn’t crack his head open, so it was an automatic disappointment for Richrd. We talked to Jason for a minute after the set and he came down to talk to us (I think it made all of his groupies jealous) and gave us a hug. We all agree we should do lunch at PF Changs soon. Then we headed out and I drove home, showered and hit the sack after watching one final episode before bed.
Tuesday 1/17, B came over after work so we had a little “play time” then made some dinner and watched the usual “before 8:00” line-up. Watching House Hunters, B informed Susan and me that a truly great nautical-themed bathroom would include “big-titty” everything. Big-titty dolphin, big-titty lobster pinching it’s red nipples with giant red claws, big-titty turtle with boob-less bustier, etc. That made Susan and I laugh and try to figure out things that couldn’t have big titties, like algae, which B informed us isn’t an animal, so it didn’t count. Then we went upstairs and I watched some SaTC while he played on the computer.
Monday 1/16, Martin Luther King Jr Day, and I was getting up at 5:50 to go to work and take Peggy to the airport. Oh well, I needed to make up some hours since the countertop guys were coming and I had to miss work to be there. The last piece went in without any trouble and it only took about 15 minutes, yay! So I dashed back to work and managed to not miss too much time. After work I went to the store then home and into bed. I finished watching Edward Scissorhands and didn’t realize that it’s so depressing. I thought it ended differently, oh well, the only time I saw the whole thing was on the bus ride from Madrid to Barcelona, so it was in Spanish. I must’ve fallen asleep through the end or something, but now I’ve seen the whole thing and like it, but it’s still sad. Then I made dinner and Susan and I sat in the kitchen and talked and joked then watched House Hunters. We both turned in after that and I watched part of the Golden Globes before going to sleep. I was so glad that Brokeback Mountain won as many awards as it did. Except every time they played the theme song it made me want to cry and definitely want to see it again. Maybe I’ll try to see it this weekend with Kassie, if her schedule permits.
