Wednesday 4/26, After work I took all the recycling out and tried to return Sue’s iron with no luck. Susan and I both ate too much for dinner and enjoyed the usual Wheel of Fortune, House Hunters and America’s Next Top Model. I can’t believe that Nenna got kicked off over Jade, I bet she’s going to win just like stupid Nichole. I think I hate Nichole more though.
Tuesday 4/25, I went to the store for groceries and to Fred Meyer for a prescription after work. Then home to wait for B to come over. Susan has been spending some time at home lately and we’ve begun watching Wheel of Fortune and House Hunters together. B got there around 7:30 and I put the pizza in so we could have our dinner. We ended up in my room reading around 8:30 and were in bed by 10:00. Are we crazy or what?
Monday 4/24, just relaxed at home after work and did some stretches before bed which I thought would help but ended up hurting my back more the next day.
Sunday 4/23, all of the roommates got up pretty late but it was a beautiful day so no one wanted to stay inside for much of it. B and I took a long shower and headed up to his room for a while then it was off to get some lunch at Kidd Valley and to see the open houses I had looked up for the week. The first one we saw was our favorite and also the least expensive (coming in at $1.15m) of the four. The other house worthy of mention was the $4.2m house we saw with the incredible grounds and pool with pool cabana. The house wasn’t anything out of this world, it was the grounds that made it more impressive. When we got back to B’s all the roommates were outside sunning themselves so B and I joined in. I left around 5:30 to go to Mom’s for Kassie’s birthday dinner. Mom tricked me into coming early though I didn’t help, since I always getting suckered into doing it. We had the cheesy potato dish and it was very good with Angel food for dessert. As I left Mom and Kassie were getting into it for Mom not being supportive when Kassie expressed an interest in buying Theresa’s house. I went home and watched my shows, read and went to bed.
Saturday 4/22, Kassie’s birthday! I got up kind of early and finally finished painting the one wall in the living room and did quite a bit of touch ups on other parts of the wall. I showered, got dressed, made brownies, lunch then headed on my way to Anthropologie to buy Kassie a birthday present. I went to her house and hung out with her and Kate then we took off to the salon to have her hair and make up done, hit the store on the way back and started getting ready for the party. Kassie straightened my hair and we both got dressed, then Chels showed up and we got the lights and music on and danced in the living room. B was the first to show up and he tried some of the strong spodi. The fondue didn’t go exactly as planned but we made due with the stove. All of the food was delicious and I ate way too many chocolate covered bananas. B’s roommates showed up and we all had a good time together and Chrystol got some really hilarious moments captured. Also, Jordan was there and I talked to him so that was fabulous and I think there might even be a picture of me with him and Kassie. The roommates and I left the party around 12:30 and chatted about the party when we got back to the house, then it was off to bed.
Friday 4/21, Susan came home after work and we hung out and watched our shows together but she took off later that night. I stayed in my room for the rest of the night and read. It’s really great to spend time at home alone and just be there without anyone or anything pressing to do. Love it!
Thursday 4/20, B was waiting at my house when I got off of work and my new bulletin board had arrived for my map. I unpackaged it and we began trying to figure out how to pin it up because it had been wrinkled a little and wouldn’t lay flat. I finally went over to Sue’s house and borrowed her iron and B and I took turns ironing it until it looked good enough. We took it up to my room and got the map on the board then I started putting pins in all the places I’ve been, though I had to look some of them up because I didn’t know where they were exactly or they weren’t on the map. I watched OC while B read his book and made slightly-snarky comments about the show.
Wednesday 4/19, I went home after work and rolled out my map in preparation for my new bulletin board that will arrive on Thursday. I’ve wanted to do this for a while and now I am. What I will do is pin my map up to the new bulletin board and then put pins in all of the places I’ve been. I’ll have to establish some sort of criteria, because I’ve been to places like St. Louis on a lay over but I wouldn’t really constitute that as “visiting” a place. I’m not sure how I’ll determine what does constitute “a visit” but I’ll just go with my gut I’m sure. Maybe I’ll even color code the pins so that certain pins mean I go there a lot and a different color will mean that I’ve only been there once. Maybe red for been there once, yellow for two or three times, and blue means I go there a lot, like places in Minnesota, Colorado, Hawaii or San Diego. I talked to Susan for a while on the phone and she decided not to move out for the time being which is good because I was starting to sweat about what I was going to do about my living situation. I also talked to B for a while then it was time for ANTM. I knew Brooke would get kicked off because they’re never going to get rid of Jade, yuck I hate her, just like stupid Nichole from last season.
Tuesday 4/18, Talked with Susan at home forever which was so weird because it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve seen her. We sat in the kitchen and snacked / chatted then watched Wheel of Fortune and House Hunters before each retiring to our rooms to make phone calls and putter around. I watched Scrubs, showered, read a little then went to bed.
Monday 4/17, Got home early and just rested. I was so tired and my back was hurting so all I wanted to do was lay in bed all evening. And boy did I do that. Made a pitiful excuse for dinner and went to bed fairly early.
Sunday 4/16, Jess and Bora were out the door as we were waking up then when we were getting ready Day came home and we tried to get out as soon as possible. I headed up to Bellingham and talked to Court on the way. No one was home when I got there but I finally got a hold of Uncle Brad and he gave me the code to get into the garage so I showered and got ready by the time everyone got home. Dad fed me donuts and I ate a ton of Whopper eggs, not the best breakfast, but you work with what you’ve got. When the girls got up we all sat and talked and then we all split off to run various errands, Kassie and I to the Community Food Co-op for internet service. When we got back we hunted for eggs and I made $9 plus a ton of candy. We then watched Walk the Line while Auntie Heidi prepared dinner, and proceeded to eat huge dinner complete with 3 choices of desserts. By the time I got out of there it was 9:00 and I had an hour and a half drive ahead of me. I got home and collapsed into bed.
Saturday 4/15, Woke up and went to the Essential Baking Co. I got something that made me feel sick for a few hours afterward. B and I were supposed to go up to Jessica’s Mom’s house on Saturday morning but it turned out that her and Bora were going to be in Seattle all day so we decided to meet up on Capitol Hill so I could give her her birthday present around 12:30 then we would meet up later at her mom’s house at 7:00. After we met her we went back to B’s and I laid down and felt sad about Grandma and B was very sweet and held me while I cried. After I regained my composure we went to Pagliachi (sp?) then back to his house and watched Burbs with Jason and Jen. We finally headed up (separately) to Jessica’s Mom’s house though she didn’t show up until 8:00. We finally ate dinner around 9:00 and watched Elvira while Jess and Bora fell asleep. Jess’ Mom went missing so her and I stayed up for a while and finally we all went to sleep when we found out she was ok and had just been at the Casino.
Friday 4/14, I woke up before Aubs so I read until she did, and then broke the news to her and she took it surprisingly well. We got up and went to Costco for gas then to Sweet Addition for yummy breakfast treats. At home we sat in bed eating and watching Brokeback Mountain. Around 12:30 I talked to Kassie and she told us to come down cause her and Chels were getting pedis and just hanging out. There was mention of Kassie and I tenderly kissing despite it not making Kassie feel any better about Grandma. A and I were hungry so we headed to the U-District where we drove down Greek row and then down into U-Village, ate at the Ram, then hit Anthropologie for a soap dish and cute, cheap rug. Back to the salon for Aubrie and I where we talked to Sean briefly then left with Kassie to go back to her house. We hung there for a while and just chatted, took pictures and compared finger nail polishes and lipsticks. We left to go to Easy Street where I picked up some good cds and Elvira Mistress of Darkness on DVD, then hit Vivace, TIB then over to Gasworks to show Aubrie. We took some fun pictures up there then went to B’s cause we had time before our 9:00 reservation at Eva and I had to go to the bathroom. We made B take pictures of us in our matching Vans and black coats then headed to dinner with him in tow. It was a late dinner but very good and we learned that Dana Bickford is the dessert chef or pastry or whatever, which was weird. B and I went back to his house for the night.
Thursday 4/13, I went up to Walt’s to get my car checked out and was out of there before 10:00. I rushed home and continued cleaning the things that hadn’t been done and right at about 11:00 Dad called to say they had just landed…shit, I hadn’t even showered yet. So I quickly picked up the stuff I didn’t want laying out and jumped in the shower and right back out to get dressed, hair straightened and makeup put on. There had been news that Grandma Rose wasn’t doing well and might die while Dad and Co were up visiting so when Dad, Mom and Aubs got to my place Aubrie was very sullen. Everyone loved what I’d updated so that was fun and Aubrie lightened up a little. We decided to go to Julia’s for lunch where Aubrie broke down when she couldn’t decide what to order for lunch, the rest of it went ok and I teased Aubrie about being “too cool for ham”. We headed over to Costco after that where I picked up a few items: car battery, apples and cereal, while Dad picked up some fertilizer for the property. All of the stuff got dropped at my house and we headed into Seattle to go to Red for our appointments: Aubrie & me for haircuts, Mom for a massage. Luckily Sean was working so Kassie relayed some fun things to us curious girls, namely something about being stranded on an island and ranking. We were all happy with our services and Dad did Kassie’s taxes so that was good, then we hit the road to go to Wild Ginger. We were late for our reservation but it was ok, then we had a fabulous dinner and all headed our separate ways. Aubs and I went home and talked about making out with Sean, then we realized we hadn’t picked up Brokeback Mountain so we ran out very quickly so as not to miss OC, but had time to stop by Dairy Queen for treats. We watched OC then started BM but Aubrie fell asleep so we turned it off and went to bed. At 12:05am Kassie called to tell me that Grandma had died.
Wednesday 4/12, Another round of cleaning when I got home and I pretty much put the finishing touches on everything then showered and left to go over to B’s for the night since I had Thursday and Friday off. I got over there right as ANTM was starting so all of the roommates, excluding Jason, sat down and watched it together. After it was over it was time for bed because B had to get up early the next day.
Tuesday 4/11, Another evening of cleaning was on my agenda. I vacuumed the living room, stairs and my room. Did some laundry and took out the trash. I made cornbread for dinner even though B called and said he wasn’t going to come over because he would be too tired which really made me upset and question how the hell we’re going to have a relationship when he starts school and doesn’t have a car when we can’t even manage to see each other now when he’s not in school and does have a car. Many many things feel up in the air for me. Sooo, I was just hanging out watching Scrubs and when that was over I was going to go to bed but B called and said he was just leaving the nursery and wasn’t as tired as he thought he would be and wanted to know if I wanted him to come over so I said yes. We didn’t really talk at all but it was nice that he came over, it feels like forever since he’s been at my house during the week.
Monday 4/10, After work I was a cleaning machine and swept and vacuumed the main floor and did other random chores. I showered and got ready to go into Seattle to have dinner with Kassie and Shane, only Shane bailed because he didn’t feel good, so Chels was going to come but then she bailed because she didn’t feel good, so Kassie, Kate and I went to St. Cloud for a late dinner and it was delicious. I didn’t end up getting home until 11:30 or so.
Sunday 4/9, I woke up and got ready to go to brunch at Ernie and Erika’s house for follow up bar mitzvah activities. Kassie was supposed to pick me up at 10:00, but didn’t actually pick me up until 10:25, 5 minutes before the thing was supposed to start. We arrived a little late, but people were just starting so it worked out. Kassie had taken Shane back to her house the night before and they just hung out, but apparently UD wanted Kassie to hook up with him or something. Funny. We hung out and ate and I played with Adrien for a little while and was surprised when he actually let me hold him and carry him around. We chatted with Shane some more about coming to see him in Greece next summer since he’s gone down there every summer for like 13 years or something and he goes for like 3 months or something. V. exciting. Then Josh Charles showed up with this other guy Blue who gave a funny speech the previous night. We said hi to JC and told him we were leaving and he like shook our hands or something, it was like a hand-hold / hand-shake thing. We took off and Kassie dropped me back at B’s. B and I decided to go downtown to look at shoes at Nordstrom and then the Rack. I found a pair of teal patent leather Stuart Weitzman pumps that I wanted but couldn’t justify spending $50 on. Jessica called me while we were looking for shoes for B and confirmed plans for this weekend. I was a little irritated by the time we left the Rack because B decided he didn’t like the ties I picked out and said he would never wear something like them because they didn’t look professional. He noticed but didn’t say much more about it, then Mom called and said we weren’t doing dinner and B and I went back to his house. I think we just hung out a little bit before I decided to go home, which he didn’t protest, it’s kind of weird all of the things I’m thinking / feeling right now. I don’t know. So I went home and watched tv, talked to Dad and did a tiny bit of cleaning. I ate popcorn for dinner and went to sleep pretty early.
Saturday 4/8, I got up kind of early to get ready for Adam’s bar mitzvah and Dad called to see if I could come pick him up cause Mom threw her neck out or something. We got there right on time and I sat next to Jerry and Maddie. We were instructed to turn around and meet someone we didn’t come with so I met Shane sitting behind me and, at that point, had no idea who he was. The service was 2 hours long, and I felt every minute of it. When it was over I took off to go home, ate some lunch, did a little kitchen cleaning then crawled back in bed to watch the final episodes of SatC and relax before the bar mitzvah festivities resumed for the evening. I got dressed and headed out, only to get there a little early and since I didn’t want to be the only one there I circled the block once and got lost, but eventually found my way into the Convention Center parking garage. I met up with a family in the garage and we all tried to find the ACT Theatre together, which took a while. They had a red carpet theme complete with bouncer and paparazzi taking photos. I felt a little less than red carpet and being by myself felt kind of silly. I went upstairs and found members of my family and hung out up there with drinks and pu pus. I noticed this kind of cute guy about 5 feet away and kept kind of looking at him, because well, he was cute, then after about 5 minutes, I realized that I recognized him but didn’t know from where. I also recognized one of the creepy photographers, so it didn’t seem that weird that some random guy at the party seemed familiar as well. About 5 minutes after that, I realized that this guy has been in a movie or movies I’ve seen, but where do I recognize him from? A while later I tracked down my uncle David and asked who the famous guy over there was, and he told me his name but I didn’t recognize him, then he said “He’s been in Dead Poets Society” blah blah, a few other movies, I said no I haven’t seen any of those, I feel like I’ve seen him in a comedy. Uncle David was like “Do not say “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead”” and I was like, OH MY GOD, that’s it! He’s the boyfriend in DTMtBD. Crazy! Shane introduces himself to me again, but I told him we already met at the bar mitzvah, he was all, Oh yeah! We all finally sit down to have dinner and guess who I’m sitting next to? No, not Josh Charles, Shane. I talked to Uncle David for the first part of dinner and to Shane for the second part of dinner. Turns out he’s not 30, like I thought, but instead 24 lives in Italy, was born in Austria, lived in Greece until he was 6, then moved to NY and is now back living in Europe and going to school. He is a fascinating person, really easy to talk to, and kind of sexy in his own way. Except that he’s Uncle David’s (Quinn, not Michael) half brother, soooo, that means that he’s my step-dad’s step-sister’s husband’s half-brother. Confused yet? So we’re not really related, like at all. So I could make out with him if I wanted to, but I don’t because I’ve got B. Kassie finally showed up as dinner was almost over (she had been sick for the previous two days and couldn’t attend prior bar mitzvah events) then they brought out the chocolate fountain stocked with strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels, Milano cookies, pineapple and Nutter Butter cookies. It was very good to say the least. The other desserts were good too. Then the dancing started and we were all out there and “bringing it”. The photogs loved our group cause we were really living it up, even Mom and Dad were getting super into it and it was hilarious. We finally bugged Uncle David (Quinn) to introduce us to his famous friend so he told one of the photographers to come to and get our picture with him. I got one with my camera too. Kassie told him she knew his secret and he asked which one, and she said Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, then he looked at me and I told him I have it on DVD. Then after we’d gotten the pictures and thanked him he was like touching my arm and then my back as I walked away. It was kind of funny. I finally took off around 10:45 and the party was still well underway, but I was told later that it was shut down 15 minutes after I left. I drove over to B’s and told some stories to his roommates before we both hit the sack.
Friday 4/7, I stayed at home for the evening. Susan and I watched America’s Funniest Home Videos and laughed our asses off. Then I believe I watched Sex and the City or something.
Thursday 4/6, I hung out at home after work and read a little of my new Martha Stewart Living, scanned the new Arches and saw Ashley and Will in a group wedding shot, then made an omelet for dinner, all by myself! It was good too. OC was good, though Marissa is really starting to piss me off and I’m glad Ryan got rid of Sadie because she’s just too blah, but it’s good because Ryan and Marissa are both going to Berkeley so maybe they’ll hook up again. Who knows. I’ve been reading before I go to sleep each night and I really think it helps with my sleeping or something because I’m sleeping way better than I used to. I’m sure it helps that I don’t get woken up by Susan taking a shower in the mornings too. It’s going to be weird not living with her anymore.
Wednesday 4/5, On my lunch break I talked to Kassie which was pretty funny because she told me a little story about her making out with the starting pitcher for the Angels after she went to a Mariners game on Tuesday night. Only Kassie, I swear. After work I ate way too much for dinner and made brownies to boot. I can’t believe they kicked off Mollie Sue on ANTM, I hate Jade so much and she looks terrible. MS is beautiful and they kicked her off, this feels like last season.
Tuesday 4/4, Drove in to Seattle to take B to Palisades for dinner to celebrate him deciding on which law school he will attend. Looks like Seattle U is it, and I am very happy about that, but don’t want to really show it because I know he would really like to go to Northeastern and I feel like making a big deal about it, other than a little celebration, would be a little mean. I had a very good fillet while B enjoyed the crab cakes, we skipped dessert and went back to his house. We talked with Schuyler and Chrystol for a while before I decided it was time to drive home and hit the sack.
Monday 4/3, Not much of anything, I presume. My memory is starting to go.
Sunday 4/2, B’s parents called and said they were coming over at 10:00 so he was going to go to breakfast with them, but I couldn’t cause I had to leave by 11:15, but then they called at 9:00 saying they were minutes away so I was like “Yay, I can go to breakfast too!” after we got in the car his parents reminded us about day light savings and that it was actually 10 instead of 9, shit. We went to this little café by his house and we were back for me to leave by 11:15 so it was ok anyway, but usually trying to go to breakfast on a Sunday? No way. We had a nice breakfast then I called Alisha (Secor) to meet up and we decided to meet at the place she goes to by the Alderwood Mall, so we both got pedicures and just chatted away then we went to a little coffee place and chatted there for awhile. It was really fun and I enjoy talking to her. She said some really nice things about me so that helps, ha. I went back to B’s so we could go see the open houses and the first one we saw was the one that both of us liked the most. It had the most amazing unobstructed views of any place we’ve looked at, it was amazing. We both really liked it and were planning what we’d do if it were ours. We went and saw a houseboat and condo after that on Westlake, though we didn’t really think either were all that special. We drove by Kassie’s bungalow but the open house was over. We went back to his house momentarily and then out to the Ave where I bought a Q and he looked at some used clothing, then we went to Northlake Tavern to have some dinner. It was only 6:00 on a Sunday and the place was pretty packed. Weird. After getting back I left and B didn’t seem to care all that much which has raised a red flag in my head and is making me question some things, so we’ll see. Um, after I got home I showered and watched my Sunday night shows and read quite a bit before going to bed.
Saturday 4/1, I had some really vivid dreams involving Spencer and seeing him at the house that his parents owned right down the street from my parents. EHS had expanded close to where our old house in Everett was and it was huge, like a university. Anyway, I woke up somehow not mad at B, so we talked a little bit and then he fell back asleep so I read and let him rest. We got up and he took a shower while I finished the blueberry lemon coffeecake that Jim bought me on Friday. Soon he put a pizza in for himself for lunch and I showered and did laundry. I had to go into work to take care of something then we went into Seattle to spend the rest of the afternoon and night. I brought the keyboard in that I had stolen from home and the boys had a very good time playing it after I gave them a small demonstration. B and I went on a walk after that and talked about his school thing and some other stuff and when we got back we decided to go to Guadalajara in Wallingford for dinner and that was good. Chrystol had to baby-sit so the three boys and I watched Sixteen Candles and had some laughs then we discussed which actresses / famous people the boys would sleep with. Chrystol came home and she joined in and we named men and women that we all liked. It was fun. B was tired and wanted to go to bed even though no one else did, but I gave in and went to bed too.
Friday 3/31, I went right to Mom’s after work again to attend the Atlantic Street center’s fundraising dinner. Mom had so many people there were two tables to hold all of us. The event was a little long but Kassie and I had fun and it was good to get to visit with Deb, Droohv and Akemi at dinner. I got home around 9:45 and B came over and I was still really mad about stuff and we laid there for a long time talking about it but I didn’t feel settled and couldn’t really say why it was exactly that I was so upset. I ended up going to bed still very upset, though B went to sleep quickly like he always does. I don’t think he really cared that I was upset.
Thursday 3/30, left work early to go to dinner with the fam to celebrate Grandpa Smitty’s birthday. We went to El Gaucho, and though the food was really good, the service was terrible and the waiter told Kassie she couldn’t have her dessert until after Mom finished. Kassie did not like being told that. Then he did the same thing to Mom when she tried to give him the coupon for paying. I had a really delicious Roquefort Baseball Top Sirloin. It was so good I almost ate the whole thing, even more than Dad ate of his. Then to wash it down I had a huge piece of Pineapple Cheesecake. I got home kind of late and got into another fight with B on the phone about the same thing I was mad at him for two days prior and ended up crying on the phone and then in the shower for a good ½ hour contemplating breaking up with him. I think I was a little hormonal but I can’t be sure.
Wednesday 3/29, hung at home, still mad at B but answered my phone to talk to him and give very short, curt answers. Gina finally got kicked off of ANTM.
Tuesday 3/28, got into a snit with B as he was driving home from OR.
Monday 3/27, Don’t remember. Talked to B and probably just watched tv.
