Sunday 6/11, Kay-See and I were going to go on a hike so I got up around 7:00 and started getting ready. She got there right at 8:00 and we took off about 20 minutes later and were at the trailhead by 8:45 or so. We started up and were just having fun talking and enjoying the scenery, taking an occasional picture and waiting for the cute guys to show up. We watched the rock climbers for a while and talked about how hot they were, even though I’m pretty sure they could hear us. We got to a point that we thought was the end and had our snack and took pictures but then these girls walked by and I was all “Are we not at the top?” and she told us it was only about another 100 feet, so we got up and walked the last little bit and it was gorgeous. The sun was out and there were only a couple of people up there and we had just hiked 2.5 miles UP HILL! It felt good. I took a couple more pictures where I have fat face, and we eventually decided to start on our way back down. This was a much easier task and as an added bonus all the cute boys that I’ve heard about were making their way up while we were descending. Some sans shirts even. We heard some little girls say they were eating salmon berries and I shouted “I knew they were salmon berries!” because I had told Kay-See I thought that’s what they were, and this little 4 year old just confirmed it. I was very proud of myself. We got back to the bottom at 11:20 and headed back to my house then Kay-See took off. I showered and laid around for a while and eventually went to Bed, Bath and Beyond for a cheese grater then to the grocery store. I lounged for the rest of the day, working on my “Homes and Gardens” scrap book while watching The Bread, My Sweet. Talked to Chrystol for a little while on the phone then watched some SatC until Susan got home. We watched the Brady Wedding show and each turned in for the evening.
Saturday 6/10, I heard Susan leave for PDX and I got up not too much later, ate some breakfast and got ready to go on a walk. When I got back I went on a cleaning frenzy. I cleaned both the downstairs bathroom and mine, the kitchen sink, the counters and stove top, swept the main floor then mopped, vacuumed the main floor and stairs, then finished by vacuuming my room. I decided I was going to see the 12:00 showing of Da Vinci Code so I showered, got ready and headed out the door to that. It was good, though some of the stuff I thought I remembered from the book wasn’t in the movie, but it was still entertaining nonetheless. I walked over to Pier One after the movie and picked up a new little rug for the kitchen and a little table for the entryway, but I think I’m going to take the table back because for $90 I should be in love with it right? Yeah, I could spend that $90 on an external hard drive or something instead. I went home and continued on my organizing / cleaning crusade. I moved the bookcase Susan no longer wanted into my room and started shifting books / pictures / knick-knacks around and it looks pretty good now. I started watching Brokeback Mountain because I was alone and feeling a little down and I knew that watching that would allow me to cry and feel sorry for myself and sad, and boy did it deliver! I read and watched tv for the rest of the night.
Friday 6/9, Went home after work and went on a walk, though I was tired from being out the night before. I believe I lounged around for the rest of the night.
