Sunday 6/25, I couldn’t sleep past 7:00 despite having gone to bed around 2:00 so I finally got up around 9:30 and went on my long walk, but it was already hot out and I sweated my ass off. Plus my butt hurt from the hike on Sat so my butt really hurt after that. I was hanging out when Kay-See called and asked if I wanted to go out on a boat, so I said yes and she was going to call me back, so I hopped in the shower and shaved my legs then she called back and told me we were going to be traveling to Lake Tapps (Taps?) to go ride on Ryan’s friend Hoss’ boat. I thought it would be fun so we decided to meet up and join in the sunny-day boating experience. We all met up at the Top Foods then headed to somebody’s boss’ house with Carolyn and Dave (I think). We hung out on the dock for a while until everyone arrived then we boarded the boat and took off. Kay-See and I sat in the back and we joked that I owed it to the boys to let them look at me in my bathing suit as a form of payment for letting us tag along on the boat trip. We went to a kind of calm spot and parked and the boys all jumped in and swam around while we listened to old-school rap and chatted. We got a call to go pick up Hoss’ brother so we got them and cruised around the lake for a while enjoying the sun and just being on a boat. It was a fabulous way to spend a Sunday. We jumped ship a little after 5:00 and headed home where I took a cool shower and relaxed for the rest of the evening and tried not to overheat. I talked to Chrystol briefly and she said that as her and Schuyler were driving home from The Ballroom they saw me, Kay-See and AGF as we were walking past the Egyptian and she said she heard me say “I’ve got a pep in my step” and she figured it must have gone well with Andy. How funny.
Saturday 6/24, I got up around 7:45 and went and got gas at Costco then back home to eat breakfast and prepare for the hike. Chrystol and I departed around 9:20 (after experimenting with the stripper mug that Schuyler purchased for me for “$100.99”) but a little while into our trip I realized that I had forgotten to go to the bathroom before leaving, so I had to use the stinky outhouse and I will NEVER FORGET AGAIN! The parking lot was totally packed by the time we got up there around 9:40 and I had to park in front of the stop sign, but I didn’t get a ticket so it was ok. It was warm before we even got started so I knew I’d be sweating a whole lot. I think we made it to the top in record time because I let Chrystol lead and it kicked my ass. I’m convinced I can’t lead because I go too slow, I need someone else who’s motivated so I don’t want to lead ever again. I get a better workout that way. We got to the top without seeing a single cute guy, it was all couples, groups of women and dogs. Very disappointing. We sat up top for a while then started our descent down and probably did that in record time too, talking all the while. As we got close to the bottom Chrystol spotted wild blackberries and they were teeny, so we both found a couple that were ripe and they were delicious and made up for not seeing any cute guys. We got in the car and drove back to my house still gabbing away and I think she might do it with us again so that’s fun. We gossiped about B quite a bit on the drive home so I’ve got some insight on that, but not much reassurance. Oh well. After she left I cleaned up the kitchen a bit and did some tidying up then I made my rice krispie treats and they turned out very good. I decided I wanted a fresh batch in case I managed to wrangle Andy into coming over to make out. I showered and relaxed for the rest of the day until it was time to start getting ready for partying festivities. Kay-See called around 7:00 to see how we wanted to coordinate and ended up calling me back around 8:45 to see if I wanted to go with her and AGF (Adorable Gay Friend) to Rosebud before heading down to Cowgirls Inc. so I said yes and headed out the door. Got up to Capitol Hill and it was already crowded and it was barely 9:00 so I made my way over from the lot and thought I would stop in Toys in Babeland before finding Kay-See and AGF, but I was spotted across the street and holla-ed at by them so Kay-See and I went to TiB, got Chrystol’s b-day present, met AGF outside the store and went into Rosebud. We hung out in the courtyard and gossiped until about 10:15 then headed down to CI where we soon learned there was a Kenny Chesney concert happening at Qwest Field and there were people everywhere. And not just regular old people, people in cowboy hats and shirts with eagles and American flags on them. Kay-See decided she was going to take pictures of people wearing cowboy hats, and little did we know that’s all that would be at CI. So I spotted Andy working the exit door and went up and gave him a hug, but was a little disappointed to see that he’d cut his hair, I liked it longer. So we chatted for a minute and I did introductions then we went in. AGF got stranded though because the stupid girl at the front said the cover was $10 when Andy had said it was $5 then one of the bouncer’s wouldn’t let me back down to give AGF money to get him in, finally the girl shouted “Let the blonde girl through!” so he did. We got in and then started taking pictures and people watching. AGF got a dark picture of Andy so I’d like to see that one again, but it was so fun we just took pictures and danced and laughed at people falling off the mechanical bull, it was a really good time. Kay-See kept saying she wanted to come back when she was drunk and AGF tried to act straight and we decided people probably thought he was gay but he didn’t know it yet, like “Who’s he kidding?” it was fun. About 11:15 we decided to make our exit and I was so nervous and AGF told me how I should slip Andy my number so I felt better about that and they were going to lead and wait for me outside to make my move. So we start toward the exit door and I realize he’s not working the door anymore so I yelled at the other two, “Stop, he’s not down there!” so we all clambered back up and I spotted him and went in for the kill while AGF and Kay-See waited a few feet away. Andy told me good luck or something, but I didn’t hear him so he repeated it and I was like, “Uh, ok” then I told him we were going to take off and then I told him I was going to give him my number in case he ever wants to hang out or make out. And he goes “I think I could do that” so I said good, smiled and said bye then I turned to the other two and said “Let’s hit it!” though AGF was looking out of the corner of his eye when I turned around and I thought that was hilarious. So we left and I told them about the exchange and we laughed all the way to the car. The Kenney Chesney concert had just let out so we sat in traffic for a while then saw some pickup back into a Mercedes and speed off though there were people everywhere that saw it but I doubt anyone actually got the information. We couldn’t catch up with him because of the light but then this guy in cowboy boots and a hat goes running up the hill after him because he was stopped at a light and they start yelling at each other but the guy speeds off so who knows if anyone got his plate or anything. We got up to the Hill and traffic was still terrible, but AGF ran up to the top and saved us a spot and pissed off two queens. We ran over to Neighbours and there was an insane line that went around the block. While we were walking to the back of it I saw Matt Parker the gay guy I had a huge crush on when I was 15 and when he was still in denial. I went up to him and he had the most confused look on his face but then said he recognized me from myspace and said that I looked really good, so that was nice then he offered to let me stand in line with him, but I didn’t need to plus he was really drunk. So we waited in line and the bouncer hugged me then we paid and Travers said “Hi Sunshine” so that made me laugh, then we went in and saw the downstairs then danced. The music was kind of weird though, too trance-y, we ended up staying until 1:00 then Kay-See and AGF walked me to my car and I drove home, a little giddy of course.
Friday 6/23, I got off of work early around 11 and went home and got ready for my walk, I did the 3 miler and got a little bit of sun in the process. When I got back I ate, showered and went down the lake for 3 hours. When I got home I hung out there for a little while then went over to Mom’s and brought some movies for us to choose from and ended up picking “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead” because Josh Charles is in it, though I realized, he isn’t in that much of it. I left Mom’s around 9:45 and went home and enjoyed having the house to myself and stayed up reading but turned in kind of early because Chrystol and I were going hiking the next morning.
Thursday 6/22, I didn’t work late and ended up staying at home because I didn’t have to go down the lake. I relaxed and it felt like a very long evening. I kept looking at the clock and thinking that it felt like I’d been home for a very long time but it still wasn’t that late. I was too tired to go for a walk plus it was warm.
