Thursday 12/28, I ran some errands after work and hit the bank then home where I busted ass on some household tasks. I took out the recycling, hung some pictures I got for Christmas, wrapped a present for Kay-See, vacuumed and then proceeded to knock one of Kassie’s plants over and spilled dirt all over the floor and the vacuum didn’t do a very good job of sucking it up, tidied up the living room, threw away my dead roses, um…probably some other stuff too. I watched a little Seinfeld then started my dinner and started to get ready to take a shower when my phone rang. I look at it and it says “Eric Cell” hmm, well well, what do we have here? So I answer it and we talk for a minute and he asks what I’m doing and I tell him I was just about to get in the shower, with the water running and everything, so he tells me to call him back when I’m done. The Old Karrah would have rushed through her shower and called him back while still dripping wet, the Reformed Karrah took her time in the shower then tweezed a few renegade eyebrow hairs and started straightening her hair then called him back. I’m not sure what I was trying to prove, but I’m pretty sure I did it. Anyway, so I call him back and he doesn’t really want anything, just to talk I guess, does he feel guilty and like he has to call? I don’t know, don’t get me wrong, I was still excited but I have to just keep a lot of things in the back of my mind with him. He knew I’d be going to Neighbours but it didn’t sound like he was planning on it, then I mentioned Michael and that I might call him, but he thought that M probably wouldn’t be going since he’s not drinking. We didn’t really talk about anything monumental and finally he said he was going to go so we hung up. I finished getting ready and was painting my nails when Susan called so we made plans for when to meet up. After that I called Aubrie and told her the news then Susan called again so we chatted for a minute and after I got off the phone with her since I was just sitting there playing Solitaire I decided to call Eliso and I talked with both her and Jake for a minute but she had to go, then I tried Court but remembered during the first ring that she’s in Hawaii and didn’t pick up, then I called Kay-See but got her voicemail, then I tried Eric again because I was feeling restless but he didn’t answer and lastly I tried Michael and left a message about Neighbours and eventually I just resigned myself to watching the news until 11:00. About 11:05 Michael called back but then quickly had to go and said he would call me back, though I didn’t hear back before heading in to Neighbours. I drove in and found a spot right in front of Susan then called her and she met me at my car then we walked in together and chatted with the boys and Travers had an emphasis on the shrug. It was pretty busy when we got in there and Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah!) was playing so Susan and I did a lap while dancing and went and said hi to Tye (wearing bunny ears and white stretch pants) then decided to check our coats. Darren and Teal showed up and we said hi then we went upstairs because I didn’t want to dance to Relax and people watched. Soon a better song came on so we went down and ran into Andrew and since they were talking I was looking around for someone to talk to but didn’t spot anyone and finally Susan dragged me out on the floor and we danced briefly before she went to go call Vicki and I spotted Kyle so I went to say hi and saw Michael too, yay! I got a great hug and we talked for a minute and he asked me about Eric and I did the same to him (breaks my heart) then I decided to go out and dance again and told him I would see him out there. We danced for a while and Kyle came over and told us that he loves us girls then introduced me to his friend, but now I can’t remember her name but she seemed very nice. I saw Michael on the side so I went over to say hi and he said he’d come over to us soon. It was just Vicki and me dancing then Michael came over and we started dancing FOREVER. I had so much fun I can’t even describe it here, but let’s just say that Michael’s got the moves and I could dedicate an entire post to just his dance moves, but I won’t. I’ll just hit the highlights. First off he’s going to be taking a hip hop class, but frankly, he could teach it because he’s got some really great moves that he showed me when this weird rap song came on and I didn’t know what to do except watch him. Then he’s got this one where he puts his hands behind his head and then rocks them front to back and I would always follow that one with the move that mortifies Susan. We were quite the tag team, let me tell you. He was looking really good, so I leaned over and told him, and he told me he’s been working out and made me feel his pecs then I went on to feel his biceps, uninvited, and they were gooood. I told him if I were a guy I’d be all over him. The Breakfast Club song came on and I was like “I loooove this song, it was my and Eric’s song” so then Michael said it needed to be someone else’s song now, like him and his next boyfriend, so I said no, it’s going to be our song Michael, the song we fall in love to. He was all, “Ok! Oh, wait…that might no work out” but we danced our asses off anyway. He asked if I’d gone out with anyone and I said no, but that maybe I’ll be able to help him out, be his wingman. He said he was a really good wingman, and I said “I know!” (nudge nudge) and he goes “Well, that one didn’t quite work out the way we wanted”. We seriously danced for so long and were both so sweaty that finally he was asked if I wanted to take a break so we went and got some water and headed upstairs to people watch. We looked at people and talked about diet and danced to Walk Like an Egyptian and he told me that he would play Bangles videos when he worked in a video store a long time ago. Then Susan came up and we were talking then Andrew came over and they started talking then A tells me that he read my Live Journal, but I told him I don’t have one, I’m on blogger, but he kept saying “I read your journal, I read your journal” and Michael’s all “Uh oh” and made a face, it really cracks me up, then Andrew says something about the Egyptian and Michael and I acted like he was talking about “Walk Like an Egyptian” and kind of danced for a second, then I was hoping that he wasn’t referring to the multiple posts where I report making out with Eric in front of the Egyptian (classy, I know) but I guess if he did, so be it. Michael suggested we go downstairs and then I said it was really time for me to go and he initially said he would walk me out then changed his mind and said he would walk with me to find Susan, so I waved to her and gave Michael a hug, but then the line at the coat check was getting crowded so I talked with Ryan for a second then Andrew came over and told me that my blog was adorable (he must not have read back very far) and that Susan and I are adorable too and that we look like we have fun when we’re dancing, which we do and he said some other stuff that I can’t remember. Susan came over while I was waiting in line and then Derek’s friend came over and made some remark about me dancing with Michael then left. So I get up to the coat check and hand him my ticket but Come On Ilene comes on so I’m like “Oohhhh!” and he hands me my ticket back and laughs and I run out to the dance floor looking for Michael who wanted to dance some more. I was scouring the crowd but coming up empty, then I said hi to Tye and he said I could dance up there with him and look for Michael because it’s a good vantage point but I eventually got down on the floor though I never found him. After it was over I went back and got my coat, said bye to the boys and ran to my car. When I got home I went back to reread the blog I had posted about last week’s Neighbours experience to see how mortified I should be that Andrew read it. I saw Aubrie online and posted a comment then went to bed. It was a little after 2:00.

Wednesday 12/27, Mom woke us up at 8:00 and Dad came in while I was still half asleep to say goodbye because he was hitting the road early to take care of some stuff with the motor home. I got up and got dressed then packed up all my things, got them in the car then said goodbye to everyone. Jessica called when I was just north of Mt. Vernon to find out if I wanted bacon or sausage for breakfast and to tell me that we were having crab omelets (which was a joke) and to find out where I was. It took me about a half hour from that point and breakfast was ready when I got there, yum! Hashbrowns, waffles and bacon all while watching Little Miss Sunshine. After we finished eating we continued watching on the couch with a few phone call interruptions. I thought it was a great movie and Jess and I sat on the couch laughing hysterically at the horn part, I could hardly breathe I was laughing so hard. When the movie was over Day and I talked for a little while then Jess got ready and we hit the road separately, with her to Alderwood and me to my house. When I got there I snuggled onto the couch and watched Girl with a Pearl Earring. I fell asleep for about 20 minutes as the credits were rolling then got up and cleaned up a little bit since it was a little cluttered then went up to my room where I remained for the rest of the evening.

Tuesday 12/26, I got up at 9:00 and Auntie was making breakfast so I sat on the couch with Dad to look at trailers for the property. For breakfast we had blueberry muffins, eggs and ham. I got ready after breakfast because Kassie’s and my movie started first so we got out of there around noon and headed to the mall. We got our tickets and went in. I’d already seen it (Holiday) and knew I’d made the right decision as soon as Jude Law appeared on screen. After the movie we hit Barnes and Noble so Kassie could pick up maps of Baja because her and S are going there for 3 weeks. We went home and waited for Dad and Uncle Brad to get back then K and S took off and the three of us headed to Kyoto’s to meet up with the rest of the girls. We had a great dinner and our chef was very good but almost lit us all on fire and had everyone in the restaurant looking at our table. After dinner Hailey, Lish, Aubs and I went back to BN so they could pick up books and magazines and such. When we got home I had a few cookies and we all congregated in the family room to watch Talladega Nights. Auntie Heidi made homemade caramel corn which was so good and sticky. The movie was good but I’m pretty sure Dad almost died a few times. I talked to Auntie Lauryn on the phone for a little while then read Q for a few minutes and went to sleep.

Monday 12/25, I woke up at 7:30 and woke K and S up too to head over to Mom’s. I left before they did and helped clean up at Mom’s before everyone got there. Grandma wasn’t feeling well so her and Grandpa ended up not coming over which made everyone sad but didn’t want her to get sicker by coming over. Finally K and S showed up and we started opening presents. I got some nice things and then had to go on a scavenger hunt to find my last one, which was a new rug for my dining room. We were running late and didn’t leave until 10:30 with me leaving first because I took a little detour to make sure the cookies were rescued from the front step. I called Aubs then drove by and was pleased to see they were gone so I hung up with her and hit the road up to Bellingham. I got there right before 1:00 with Kassie about 10 minutes behind. We got the stockings going then the presents, which ended up taking about an hour and a half. We all got some really nice things and some cash which was unexpected but nice then we cleaned up and got the food out. We all laughed heartily when Uncle Brad asked Lish to whack him off…a piece of that salmon, then he told us we were all sick. Some of us ended up back in the living room talking on multiple occasions but usually it was Hailey, Aubrie and me. Around 8:30 it was time for dinner and we were having prime rib, twice baked potatoes, Auntie’s famous salad, rolls and green beans. I got a deck of cards in my popper and dinner was a lot of fun with everyone talking over everyone else, plus it was delicious. For dessert Auntie made homemade puff pastries with homemade whipped cream, ice cream and raspberries. We were all very full by the end of it. Mom got Christmas bingo so we all gathered in the family room and played that for a few rounds before watching tv and talking some more. I played the Boy Game by myself with my new cards and it was very accurate as always. I read a little of my Q and went to bed around midnight.

Sunday 12/24, I forgot to turn on my alarm so we woke up a little after 8, got up and out of the house in about 20 minutes. We busted ass up to Everett to Rose’s for breakfast and present exchange. We beat K and S and sat talking until they got there. We went to breakfast and then back to Rose’s. I felt bad when we left because she started to cry but didn’t want Aubrie and me to see, so then I felt really terrible on my way home. I called Chrystol because I wanted to drop off some penis cookies, but she was already in Anacortes but we made plans to get together when she returns. When I got home I took a shower, climbed into bed and watched Finding Neverland. I started getting dressed and doing laundry when K and S came home. I got to Mom’s at 5:30 and hung some ornaments and cut up a baguette. Peggy and Jim got there, then Grandma and Grandpa and we all sat around talking and eating. K and S showed up and eventually dinner got underway. After dinner we all went back into the family room and had the cheese coarse then started opening gifts. I got two more pillows for my couch and a spa day from Peggy as well as some items from L’Occitaine and another time-share trip. We ate dessert which was really good and continued to chat. Finally everyone was gone and I took off. Called Aubrie on my way home about our Eric task so we conspired and I got some gas and went home. Did more laundry, packed for Bellingham and got ready for bed.

Saturday 12/23, I woke up at 8:00 and started getting dressed and preparing to make waffles. Mom and Dad got there so we took off for Lowe’s, picked out my new toilet and supplies then headed home. Justin was there when we got back so we had a full house. I got going on the waffles while Kassie prepared the fresh strawberries and blueberries. They seemed to go over well and while I was cleaning up Alishia called and said she had landed so the three of us girls headed down while Dad and the boys got going on my toilet. We picked her up and when we got home everyone was still there but they eventually started trickling out. Dad finished the jobs and then they got going too. Aubrie, Alishia and I headed down to Tofeo to pick up the pictures and met Kassie down there, they look fantastic, then we all walked over to a nursery and Kassie picked up a gate for Mom and I went overboard lecturing Alishia about her finances and decisions. We then met up with Derek, one of Kassie’s friends, and all walked to Essential Baking Company for lunch. I had a fantastic sandwich with balsamic and mozerella and tomato and some other wonderful items. We walk back to the cars and the three of us girls head over toward Kay-See’s, make a stop at the store for some cookie-baking supplies then head up to her place. We got going on the cookie dough and in one of the batches we used some wheat flour and hoped for the best. The dough had to refrigerate for an hour so we walked down to Anthropologie and I tried on 5 dresses and though one looked really cute on, I couldn’t justify buying it, so I bought Kassie’s present and we went back. The dough was ready so I was in charge of doing the shapes and I used mostly the penis shaped cutters but threw in a few X-Mas ones just to have something to show the parents and coworkers. The made some with Eric in mind and were all laughing so hard. Kay-See’s cookies were the most perverted…go figure. Ha! We took some pictures and celebrated when the last batch went in. Kay-See gave me this great coffee table book with anonymous postcard confessions and a funny magnet so we used the box and to wrap up a bunch of cookies for Eric then wrapped them up with a big Christmas bow. We helped clean up a little then took off around 7:30. We went to Eric’s and strategized in the car then did one drive by before going in for the kill. His car and motorcycle were there but all the lights were off so Aubs stuck the cookies on the top step and then proceeded, against our specific instructions, to ring the doorbell. Three times. Then almost ate shit running back to the car, jumped in and I hit the gas. Who knows if he was even there. We drove home, finished Snatch, made a veggie pizza and turned on Greek Wedding. Aubrie and I fell asleep and after it was over headed upstairs to bed, but then Alishia had an unexpected thing happen on myspace so she was really upset and we talked about it for a long time and finally she was ok so we all went to bed.

Friday 12/22, I got off work a little tiny bit late and talked to Mom and Dad who said they would meet me at my house with Aubs. We all went in and I showed them the new couch and carpet and everything that had changed since the last time each were there. We went upstairs and I was showing Dad my noisy toilet and he asked why I didn’t just buy a new one and I told him that buying it is the easy part, it’s putting it in that’s tricky. So then, while Dad is bent over the toilet looking at the water shut off, Mom silently points at Dad, nominating him for the task. Dad agreed and said they could come back in the morning, we could go out and get a toilet and he would install it and the new shower head I bought for Kassie’s bathroom. This made me very happy. We decided to head to the restaurant for dinner and planned to see Kassie whenever she showed up there. Dinner was good and the four of us were having a nice time talking and joking and Aubrie and I were mortified when Dad kept trying to make jokes to the waitress and we kept muttering under our breath at the same time “Shut up Dad” then would laugh. Kassie and Skylar showed up as we were just finishing so they picked at our stuff then ordered another dish. We continued talking and laughing for a bit then Mom and Dad had to go because they had other plans, so we said our goodbyes then Aubrie and I loaded into Skylar’s truck with them and headed home. They took back off and Aubrie and I played on our computers for a little bit then Jessica called as planned and we decided to meet up on Capitol Hill around 10:30 or whenever she was done with her show. I hopped in the shower, got ready then we took off for Lowe’s so I could check out toilets. Do I know how to show my little sister a good time on a Friday night or what? Yeah…so we looked at those then headed over to PCC to find cookie cutters but they didn’t have any so we walked across the parking lot to Michael’s where we did find some so I picked up about 5 and we went home. We decided to watch a movie until Jess called so I picked Snatch since Aubrie had never seen it and Brad Pitt looks so hot sans shirt. Promptly at 10:30 Jess called so we took off for CH, found parking and walked down to Dillettante. Jess got there about 10 minutes later and I ordered a hot chocolate and Aubs and Jess both ordered cheesecakes so I nibbled on those. We talked for a long time and Aubrie was fascinated with Jess’ stories and we vowed to look up typhoid and some guy named Gabe when we got home. And maybe Diego Moscoso, but since he spit on me in preschool I don’t know if he deserves to be found. Before we left I picked out some chocolates for Uncle Brad and Aunt Heidi and when we were paying for it we were commenting on the very large chocolate Santa and the guy called it creepy and we continued laughing about that for a while. We wondered what they did with the giant Santa at the end of the season if no one bought it for the bargain price of $300+ and thought that they either melt it down and give it new life or they just stick it in the back and wait for next Christmas. We left around 12:30 I think and headed home and crawled into bed. We both heard Kassie stomping up the stairs about a half hour later.

Thursday 12/21, I rushed home from work to throw on a clean shirt and grab Mom’s birthday present and the rest of the Christmas ones before heading over to their house for Hanukah celebrations. Traffic was Terrible, yes with a capital T, because it took me 35 minutes to drive what usually takes about 8. At least I wasn’t the last to arrive and Kassie fed me some bread and cheese when I got there to make it better. In attendance were Josh and Amy with Jonas and Eden, Ernie and Erika, Audrey and Peggy, Ron and Emma. Then there were our 6 plus Skylar so we had quite the group. We lit three menorahs then exchanged gifts and I got a nice scarf, soap and lotion. Then it was time for dinner and Mom had made vegetable curry with basmati rice and grilled pork and chicken with peanut sauce so there was a little something for everyone. The kids all congregated at one end of the table and shared tales of hog-tying Jake and all his business plans for Skylar’s property. After dinner people milled around and Emma brought in the cake she baked for Mom’s birthday which was a dense chocolate and raspberry treat with homemade whipped cream. Then Mom had picked up a couple fruit tarts at Whole Foods so there was much more eating to be done. I was feeling tired and sluggish and totally didn’t want to go to Neighbours, plus it was 9:00 and I couldn’t get out of the driveway because there were so many cars being blocked in. I finally managed to make it out and headed home. I called Michael when I got home and he said he had a feeling I was going to call him that day, which is so weird because I had been thinking about calling him all day. He was hanging out with a friend so I told him he should come to Neighbours and he had some very exciting personal news which I congratulated him on, then told him hopefully I’d see him later in the night. I bucked up and called Susan to give her a status report and started getting ready. It took me forever because my hair likes to be curly underneath, while I would like it to be straight. I called Aubs and talked with her about sister plans, cookies and smuggling her into Neighbours then hit the road. I called Susan when I parked and planned to meet her and Vicki by her car right across from the Egyptian. So I’m waiting there and this guy comes up and he’s like “Waiting for your man?” and I stupidly said, “No, my friends” so he’s like, “Is there any way I could jump your bones, I mean, get your number so I can get to know you?” and I go “Not with a line like that” and he goes, “Your name’s Laura right?” and I say back “Um, sure, yeah, good guess. You’re good” then goes on to rant about how I need a “real man” and luckily Susan and Vicki came running across the street and Susan’s all “Karrah!” and I’m all “Sssshhhhh!” because I didn’t want him knowing that my name really isn’t Laura. So we send him on his way and head down the alley. We talked with the boys on the way in and of course got very grope-y hugs. We were surprised how many people were there so early, which was a sign that a good night was in store. We did a lap and said hi to Tye who said he’ll be there next week then went upstairs to check out the dance floor and finally a good song came on so we ran down and started dancing. Vicki is really hilarious and will approach anyone and tell them to dance with us or whatever, so the first guy we spot is really cute, but we’re not sure if he’s gay or not, and we guess no because he refuses to dance even with his friends helpfully pressuring him. He’s clearly also very drunk. Vicki takes the opportunity to go up to him and tell him to come dance with us and he says he will after two songs, though he never does. We kept our eye on him all night though. Next some guy keeps bothering us and putting his arms around us and Susan tells him to beat it, then another guy comes over and says how beautiful we all are and kisses my hand, then Vicki’s then goes in for Susan and I yell into his ear “I wouldn’t do that, she doesn’t like to be touched” he’s all, I don’t even care, you’re all too beautiful, then went on his way without that kiss. We ended up on the other side of the floor and saw this guy in a hat so we called him “Hat” for the rest of the night and I think he was stalking us because everywhere we went on the dance floor, he wasn’t far behind and watching us from the side. From our little spot where we first spotted Hat, we then spotted this guy in a leather jacket that looked like a short short-haired Craig wearing one glove with the other strategically placed in his back pocket. I thought he looked like Jude Law, so that’s how we referred to him for the rest of the night. Moments after spotting him Vicki insists on going and dancing right next to him, I’m game but Susan took a little more time to make her way over. We were giggling and gushing about Jude for the next 20 minutes next to him and taking pictures with him in the background and me pretending to grab his butt. He had the most hilarious dance moves too, it was great. I told them I should offer to give him a dollar to check his coat so he didn’t have to hold it while he danced, in exchange for a kiss. Unfortunately I didn’t follow through on my brilliant idea. I finally spot Kyle, and he looks like a little goth school boy, with his white button up shirt and black tie with black eyeliner and lipstick on. He’s all “How’s my lipstick” so I said “Perfect” and he goes “Your hair is perfect” well thank you Kyle, you just made my night. We went to go get some water and I totally saw Casey from Tower and I think he saw me but chose to ignore me. I don’t know. I was standing by myself and Hat came lurking around but was pretending to watch people dancing but I knew better and Susan and Vicki conspired to ask him why he was there and looked so bored. Then Susan asked Kyle if she thought he was gay or not and he’s all “Gay!” and she’s like, “You didn’t even see him!” and he’s like “It doesn’t matter, gay!” We hit the floor again then Thomas showed up and danced with us for about 45 seconds and what do you know, Hat shows back up. Susan’s off dancing with Darren and Kyle and Vicki and I are dancing with some Venezuelan guy who keeps asking me why I don’t have a bf and then tells me that his bf is white, “like you”, and also very jealous, not like me. Hat’s sitting there watching like 3.5 feet away and I keep catching his eye, but looking away, because Susan kind of had dibs on him and also because, I don’t know, do I want to make out with someone at Neighbours again? Probably not a good idea. Then there’s this other guy who keeps looking over, in a really obvious way, so I tell Susan and can’t decide if he’s cute enough or not, and she’s like “Oh my God, I think that’s the guy that…” I’m going to leave this part of the story out, because it’s Susan’s, and though it’s hilarious, I’m not going to post it on here, so I’m like “Eww, I think you’re right” and I didn’t pay much more attention to him. Back to Hat (who coincidentally looks like B to me), he disappears and I’m looking all over for him then happen to look up and he’s RIGHT THERE on the balcony, so I look down again, then back up and he waves, so I wave back. Then I dance for a while and look back up and he’s gone so I yell to Vicki “Where the hell is Hat?” and he’s fucking right there and I’m like “Ooh, shit” and he comes over and introduces himself to me as Andrew and says it looks like we’re having a lot of fun then introduces himself to Vicki and lastly Susan who had been dancing with the boys. Somehow I end up by myself on the dance floor with the Venezuelan so I say I need to go and spot Susan talking to Andrew by the stairs and tell them I’m leaving and Andrew says he’s sure he’ll see me there again and I tell Susan bye, then Vicki and make my way out. I got a hug from both of the boys, even Travers, who said there’s a first for everything. Indeed. I ran to my car and crawled into bed around 1:45. I was a little disappointed I didn't see Michael, but I'll wrangle him into dancing another night soon. It was a fabulous night nonetheless.

Wednesday 12/20, I did some more cleaning after work, mainly toilet cleaning, my favorite. At least it was made better by listening to Ratatat. Then I wrapped some presents while watching Wheel of Fortune and made a zucchini and tomato omelet with cheddar and swiss cheese. I then retired to my room to watch the finale from the first Flava of Love, which was really hilarious. Then I showered and crawled into bed. What an eventful night!

Tuesday 12/19, I got some stuff at the store and when I got home I tidied up before showering and getting ready to go to Kay-See’s. There was no traffic so I headed out early and found parking really easily. I bought beer for the first time ever for Kay-See and it was a seasonal one or something and she liked it so that made me happy. She was making some delicious pork for dinner so we talked while it cooked but when the timer went off it wasn’t done so we decided it was going to be a while and we should walk down to Anthropologie so I could get Kassie’s Christmas gifts. We made pretty good time and talked the whole way down and even discussed making some festive, yet completely inappropriate, Christmas cookies. We were disappointed to find out that M wasn’t working that evening. I picked out Kassie’s presents, though now I’m worried I didn’t get enough, then headed upstairs and picked up a pillow I had looked at online for my couch and two picture frames. I bought the stuff and we headed back because Kay-See was worried that her pork was going to be overdone by the time we got there. We hauled ass up the hill and made it back just in time. Kay-See dished me up and it was so good. We had rice and cauliflower too with homemade pico de gallo (sp?) on top of everything. Mmmm! For dessert we had peppermint ice cream then laid on the floor because I had cramps and it’s just where we ended up. We talked forever about all sorts of things like dumb boys (of course), good and bad ways to end relationships, friends getting married and having kids and (semi) casual sex (for us, not the marrieds). We also made a marriage pact. I took off around 10:15 and tried the pillow on my couch and it totally works, yay! I got into bed and watched the news for a while then went to bed. In the middle of the night I heard someone coming up the stairs and I got really freaked out until I realized it was probably Kassie, then I heard the jingle jangle of Rosco’s collar and knew it was them and fell back asleep.

Monday 12/18, I called my house around 10 and my answering machine came on so I was very excited that my power was back. I was also glad that I had kept my heat turned up so that it would defrost throughout the day before I got home. When I got home I cleaned out the fridge and took out the garbage then did some other cleaning around the house and did three loads of laundry. I talked to Dad then Susan for a while then Kay-See and made plans to have dinner the next night. I took a nice hot shower and got into bed without being freezing cold.

Monday, December 18, 2006

Sunday 12/17, I got up around 9 and didn’t want to get out of bed because it was so freezing but forced myself. I went to get gas and there was a line down the street and one of the workers was going to each car and telling people that he only had Supreme and only 500 gallons but that I was welcome to wait and try so I did. I gassed up then headed to Peggy’s because I had called the night before and her voicemail came on so I assumed she had power. I assumed correctly because when I got there it was powered up. I cranked the heat to 73 and turned on the heater in the bathroom to warm it up for my shower. I watched tv and ate Sun Chips and talked to Court for an hour about wedding plans and other things then took a wonderfully long hot shower. I got dressed and watched more tv then headed out to do Christmas shopping. I hit Best Buy then the Christmas House and called Kay-See but she didn’t answer so I headed to Mom’s but I didn’t want to sit around there even though their power had come back on so I called Chrystol hoping that she hadn’t been helping at the Tree Farm and she wasn’t and told me to come over. I unloaded my backseat of about 20 magazines and Jason, Schuyler and Chrystol were delighted. I told them about Eric and we talked and looked at pictures from Kassie’s fashion show and Chrystol’s trip to Portugal and Spain. We watched a little 24 before I left around 5:15 for Mom’s to have dinner. When I got there I became very irritated because it felt like my power would never come back on and everyone else’s was before mine, wah. Why don’t I just cry about it huh? Mom made chicken fettuccini and that was good then we all sat on the couch and watched the second half of the Return of the King but skipping through the Frodo and Sam parts because we all find them kind of boring and I find them to be quite homoerotic. I even piped in at one point “That’s how Eric and I looked at each other across the dance floor” and my mom was like “Really?” and I laughed having just made my point. After it was over I left and hit QFC on my way off the island. I went to Peggy’s because it was warm and I wouldn’t have to deal with driving through Issaquah in the morning with no stop lights. I’ll admit that I almost started crying on my way out there because my power still wasn’t on and I don’t want to deal with the mess that is my refrigerator and freezer after 4 days of no power. Yuck. I told myself to knock it off and get a grip, things could be a lot worse. When I got there I watched some more tv and the news which said that Cougar Mountain – Bellevue and Issaquah would probably be without power for a few more days and I got very mad at the tv and yelled a little bit. Then I went to bed. Brrr Part IV (except I was warm at Peggy’s).

Saturday 12/16, I woke up at 8 and it was freezing so I didn’t want to get out of bed, turned my alarm off and went back to sleep. I got a text from Susan and couldn’t check my voicemails so I got up, dressed, grabbed some stuff and headed to Mom’s. Mom and I drove down to the Int’l District so I could mail something for work then we got back to the house where I ate some cereal and sat by the fire. I knew I needed to take a shower but I was dreading getting out of the shower, especially since I needed to wash my hair. I took a super hot shower and steamed up Mom’s bathroom and by the time I got out in was actually really warm in there. I did my hair and put some makeup on and hung out for a little longer then called Susan to rescue me from coldness. I drove over to her place and we decided to walk down and look in the little shops by her house. A guy we passed smiled and said hi but kind of laughed it, so I asked Susan if she thought he was laughing at my hair. First we went in this little shop where I picked up some salt and pepper shakers for Mom, an elephant tea pot for Grandma and some other little things for myself. We hit this little international store where I got a present for Kassie then to the bookstore. Kassie called and we talked about Christmas presents for the siblings and when she was arriving back. Susan came out and we walked back toward her house but stopped at this little café where I had French onion soup and she had a plate of fries which I helped demolish. Our waiter / bartender was cute but I was worried my hair was a turnoff. Susan told me to let it go. We went back to her house then drove down toward Broadway, parked, hit some stores like Red Light and Urban Outfitters though I didn’t buy anything else until we went to the magazine place so I could pick up a Q, they’re up to 9.25 now, ouch! That’s nuts. We then went to TiB but didn’t buy anything, though there were some interesting looking restraints that mount under your bed, yikes. We hit Trader Joe’s and found a new crush for Susan and I got Australian licorice (thanks to Kay-See I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the deliciousness of it!) and Susan’s crush was going off about it and how much I would love it. We went back to her house to take a nap and watched SatC before turning on Sense and Sensibility. I almost nodded off a few times but ended up making it through the movie and liked it, though those Brits can be sleazy (as British Top Model proved earlier in the week). We got up and headed back down to Broadway to find some Japanese and found a place per Kyle’s suggestion, ate dinner then headed down toward Pacific Place to do some shopping and to see Holiday which was cute but a little long and corny in spots. We got out of there around midnight and headed back to Susan’s. She offered to let me stay but I decided to go home and was disappointed to find my power still not turned back on. Brrr Part III.

Friday 12/15, I called Peggy first thing to see if she had power and she told me from the airport that she didn’t so I said I wasn’t going to go in until later because there would be no point and went back to sleep. Then Jake called but I didn’t pick it up because I was tired, and he didn’t leave a message, hmm. I finally got up and went in because Peggy wanted me to make copies of some stuff and mail it but she didn’t realize that everything in Issaquah is shut down so at 12:30 I left and went home. I ate some lunch then climbed into bed to get warm and start reading Lord of the Rings. I didn’t make it very far before falling asleep at like 2:30 and staying that way until about 6. I called Mom and she told me to come over and she would make me dinner and I could sit in front of the fire with her and Dad. I went over and we all sat there talking for hours. Dad went out to QFC to get some more Duraflames and had to unload them off the truck himself and bought a couple boxes and got the latest gossip on the power outage. Mom made me a grilled cheese sandwich and I eventually went home around 11:30. Factoria had power restored when I was going home, but I was not as lucky when I arrived. Brrr Part II.

Thursday 12/14, We had our employee lunch and at Serafina and ended up leaving the office early because of the shitty weather that was coming in and going to bring 40-60 mph winds with it. Lunch was fantastic and it’s such a charming little restaurant. Everyone always raves about it and now I can proudly say I know why. During lunch Peggy and Jim were discussing fixing me up which I said would be totally fine with me. Then Peggy said she may have to get me an assistant and I said that as long as he’s 23-25 and cute that that would be fine with me. After lunch I called Eric to see if we could meet up so I could “Get rid of this stuff” and he said he was too ashamed to tell me where he was and that he had to call me right back. I knew what that meant (I assumed he was buying drugs or something and that it would be awhile before I’d hear back from him) so I headed into Fremont to go to Trofeo to get the pictures of Kassie and I framed by her friend Sarah. He called while I was en route and I told him hopefully it would only take about 10 minutes in the frame shop and we could meet up in Fremont and to head over from Northgate. It took a little longer than expected in Trofeo but I’m really excited about what we’re doing with the pictures. He called while I was in there so I told him to come over and he gave me a wet hug when he came in and looked so cute in his little green hat. He hung out while I finished up there then we headed out to my car so I could give him the stuff. He said he couldn’t take it and I told him yes because otherwise it’s going to continue to mock me if I had to look at any of it. We talked for a long time and it was wonderful, even though I knew it would probably be the last time or at least for a long time because I need to get over him. He kept saying he should probably go but wouldn’t, then kissed my hand and gave me a hug and suggested a good-bye kiss so we did but it was essentially a peck, but then he kind of just grabbed me and we started making out…a lot. While he was kissing me he would touch my face then my neck then pretended to strangle me, how adorable! Ha, no it was a joke, not scary or anything. In between making out I told him how great I think he is and that there will always be a special place for him in my heart, and in my panties, which made him totally blush and cover his face. He kept saying “Stop it, you’re making me blush” because I was being dirtier than that and I asked him “What, are you a prude now?” and was like “Yeah, actually, pretty much.” So that made me happy. I was trying to keep it light like “I’m glad I met you blah blah blah” and he was like “Why are you talking like that? We can still see each other, it doesn’t have to be like that” but he knows I need to get over him and I know he needs time to just be him and not have someone acting like a girl friend. We kissed some more and the windows were totally steamed up then he really was going to go but kept leaning back and kissing me. I’m glad I at least have that memory because it makes me smile. A lot. Ha, so anyway, he left and I drove home where I wanted to semi-sleep but ended up talking to Susan then John then Susan again for like an hour, then Mom so I didn’t really get to sleep. I got up and got ready and talked to Kay-See who told me she wasn’t going to be dancing but that some of the other boys should be there. Richie sent me a funny text earlier in the day saying he was glad he was going to get a little dose of his make shift virgin so that made me laugh. I left for Susan’s at 9 and still had power though the wind was really blowing and called Jake on the way and left a message. When I got to Susan’s we watched a little Sex and the City until Kyle called saying “Where are you?!” I told him we’d head down, I found great parking and headed in and avoided getting hit with stuff falling off the building in the alley. We chatted with the boys before heading in and seeing Richie and Kyle and getting big hugs and kisses. Kyle asked how it went with Eric and I told him that we made out for 20 minutes and he’s like “WHAT?! Richie, did you hear this?” it was fantastic, and then we went out on the floor to dance. Susan was taking lots of pictures and some of them turned out really bad but there are a few good ones in there. Kyle and I mostly danced together and he asked me if I was going to Prom and then I told him we should open a club called Prom and every night could be a different theme or like type of dance like Tolo or Homecoming. Then he humped me against one of the mirrored pillars. Kyle needed some air so he went outside and I danced with Richie and we were getting down for a while and it was a lot of fun. Teal came over and introduced his bf and Tye came over and said hi. The music was pretty good and I was getting all hot and sweaty so I told Susan I was going to go outside to get some air with the boys but Kyle had left so I stood out with Richie who gave me his coat and said so many nice things to me like “I have such a big heart for you” and “I’m like, obsessed with you” then he said some not very nice things about Eric and I was defending him saying that he really is a nice guy and he goes “No, he really isn’t.” Oh. I’m conflicted and biased though. Anyway, Richie said he can’t wait to see who I end up with because he’s going to be so fantastic. Then we talked about me procreating with Neil. We headed back in and found Susan and started dancing again and it was so fun and I was trying to look super flirty with Richie because Derek showed up and I didn’t want him talking to me even though his friend made eye contact and I said hi. Richie left not too much later and then Teal slapped my butt and I decided to take off around 1:00. Said bye to the bouncer and ran to my car because it was freezing. On the way home all the lights were off on I-90 and all of Mercer Island and Bellevue but when I got up to Eastgate they had power so I as hoping I would have power since I’m only 2 minutes down, but I totally didn’t when I got there. It’s hard getting ready for bed in the dark but luckily I found a flashlight that worked. Brr Part I!

Wednesday 12/13, I had to leave work early to go sign my mortgage docs in Bellevue with a very nice man named Jeremy. He asked me if I was wearing amber and I assumed he smelled the sage deodorant then he compared it to patchouli, ouch. Then at the end he gave me a backhanded compliment when he looked at my driver’s license by saying I looked “sooo much better now” hm, wow, thanks. But I think my 22 year-old self just got majorly dissed. Like for sure. Anyway, I got out of there a little before six but not before Jeremy asked me for my phone number, though I think he was playing it off like he was kidding when I just laughed nervously and didn’t respond. I called Chrystol on the way to tell them I didn’t really have food in the house and was just going to eat salad and rice for dinner so they may want to grab something. They showed up around 7:30 with pizza making provisions, yum! I made a salad and I think they both liked the dressing. They oooh-d and ahhh-d at the new rug then we made dinner and I told them the story from the night before with Eric and she was like “Stop! Are you telling me you and Eric had sex on this very counter that I’m making the pizza on?” I told her no and the rest of the story then we watched the British Top Model and it was so bad but so good at the same time. It was super trashy, which Schuyler totally loved, and all the girls were a little slutty. Chrystol was being “high-maintenance” by asking if we could change the color on the tv then saying that “Brownie should go home” and asking for not so many tomatoes in the salad so Schuyler and I kept laughing at that. We watched a good portion of BTM but I was also telling stories and showing off murder mystery pictures while it was on. I was telling them a story about Jake and like 2 minutes later I get a text from him apologizing and I was like “OH MY GOD! He just sent me a text! Bah!” Then they wanted to see him so I showed them his myspace but they weren’t entirely supportive which led to Chrystol scouring her high school alumni to find me a suitable mate. We did that for about 45 minutes and it was so fun because we just ended up laughing for most of it. After they left I cleaned up a little more then went upstairs to bed.

Tuesday 11/12, After work I hauled ass around the house picking up and getting ready for Kay-See and Ky to come over. I showered and dressed then put some music on and started cutting up the chicken. They got there at like 6:30 maybe and it was like being hit with a wall of giggling energy. They brought chips and dip and salsa and some wasabi soy sauce nuts or something. I kept going on the dinner and luckily it’s like the easiest recipe in the world because it’s so hard for me to concentrate when there are fun people around and lots of yummy snacks and things to talk about. While dinner was cooking we all talk and Kyle went upstairs to pick out a movie but couldn’t decide but ended up choosing Happy Endings, which I love, so that made me happy and then dinner was ready. We sat in the living room eating dinner in front of the tv watching the movie, then we had organic ice cream. After it was over we all talked about loud moaning and dirty talking / house shaking / bed squeaking sex experiences. Then Kyle tells me I should write Eric a text message that doesn’t ask him to come over but instead commands it: Get your ass over here and fuck me on my kitchen counter. So we’re all laughing about it then they suggested really doing it, and let’s face it, it didn’t take much outside encouraging so I did it and squealed when I hit the send button. About 3 minutes later my phone rings, Kyle says “I told you” and him and Kay-See run upstairs giggling all the way. I answer and he laughs into the phone “What the fuck is this?” and I couldn’t stop laughing and told him to come over and officially invited him. He told me he had plans but they could be rearranged and that he really wanted to come over then goes on to say he’d been looking at the pictures from Stevens Pass and that the only good one out of 15 was the one of me without him in the picture because his face would only muck up any good picture. I rebuffed him. He said he had to call me back in a few minutes so I ran upstairs going “OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD” and Kyle’s like “See?” so I filled them in on the conversation then we went into the kitchen while I continued cleaning up and Kyle was verse-ing us in the simplicity that is the male mind. My phone rang again and he’s like “Ok, I’m coming over” so we’re all giggling and they’re both glad that one of us will be having sex so they gather their things so I can get ready. We exchange hugs and salty chicken and they took off. As I got back upstairs my phone rings and it’s him again saying it’s not such a good idea and all this nonsense and I’m like trying to convince him to come over and saying he owes me because the last time I didn’t get off, but he’s saying that he doesn’t want to be an asshole and he’d basically come over then put his pants back on and go and that’s what an asshole would do and he doesn’t want to be an asshole to me. I told him it’s just sex but he disagreed. He said he would call me back in 2 minutes. So I went upstairs and was waiting for the official call telling me he wasn’t interested, so then I’m like, “What am I doing?! Trying to talk a guy into coming over to sleep with me? This is stupid. It shouldn’t be a battle” so I call him back and he’s like, “I’m at a friend’s house I have to call you right back” and I tell him never mind, don’t worry about it. He’s like “Ok” then I said, But I do have a request, I have some stuff I need to give you so I can move on so I need 10 minutes of your time in the next couple days. He’s all “Don’t be like that” I told him No, I’m not trying to be a bitch I just need to get over you and need to do this, and he’s like “Fine, I have Wed and Thur off, you can reach me on my cell” I said thank you and we hung up. Then I called Kay-See and she’s like “You shouldn’t be calling me right now” and I filled her in on the conversations. Ugh. It was rather comical. She knew Kyle would be disappointed so I went online and left him a comment then started getting ready for bed. Right in the middle of my pre-bed ritual my phone rings and I knew it was him and half expected him to call when he was alone because I knew he wouldn’t want to leave things like that. Because he’s not an asshole. We talked for quite a while and I said a lot of what I was feeling but not in an accusatory way or whiny or anything but just that I needed to not really see him because I like him, and I never expected to like him this much and the only way I can kind of get over it is to not be talking to him and give him the stuff. He was laughing at me saying that in the earlier phone call I was all “I need to get rid of this stuff!” all mean like, and he was like “What is that? Don’t be all mad” I told him not to go on the defensive, I didn’t mean it like that, it’s just something I need to do. We did do a lot of talking and joking and we're planning on meeting up on Thursday and he's all "There isn’t any reason we can’t have one last kiss because I know that will be good" and I was all "You're damn straight it would be good, but I don't know if you can handle it". Then he says how hot my text was and was all "I'll probably jack off to it later and will be kicking myself tonight for not coming over, but I know in the morning that I'll be glad and know I made the right decision" which I couldn't really argue with. He doesn't want to get into a "routine" which means that if we keep seeing each other that it's going to turn into us being bf and gf or something, which I don’t think he’s entirely opposed to but I don’t think he wants the obligation. I see his point of view and I'm pretty sure he sees mine so I told him that he can call me in a month or three months (hopefully I’ll be over it by then) and he’s like, well I’ll talk to you Thursday, or before, so let’s not say that yet. It ended on a positive note and at least I know where he stands and he knows where I stand so we’ll go from there and see where this nutty thing ends up.

Monday 11/11, I went to Costco for some provisions then dropped some stuff off at the dry cleaners on the way home. Susan came over after work and finished getting her stuff then we watched the Wheel and talked. After she left I cleaned up and washed Kassie’s big blanket and took some stuff down to the garage to declutter. I talked to Chrystol for a long time on the phone and her and Schuyler might come over Wednesday to hang out so that’s fun. I filled her in on all the Eric drama and she said she hopes I get to a point where I end it because I’ll feel better about it, which I agreed with. I showered and cleaned my room a little before going to bed.

Sunday 12/10, I woke up and hit Costco for gas, had my car washed then headed over to do my grocery shopping. I unpacked everything at home, straightened up then headed out to pick up Jake and go to brunch at Newport Bay. I made him listen to Ratatat in the car and he called it “awkward” hmph. We had a really nice brunch and the whole family was there. Kassie told me that Sean is getting written up in some Seattle magazine for being such a wonderful hair stylist and that his rates are probably going to go up. Damn! And my discount is out the window with Kassie not working there anymore, but I’ll still go to him because he’s a genius and such a fantastic guy. After we finished brunch we all headed in our separate directions and I went home to veg out even though I totally should have gone out and done some errands. Kassie came over and we moved a bunch of her stuff in and upstairs and I got the rest of her couch cushions wrapped up and stored in the garage and it’s all starting to come together. I did some cleaning in her bathroom and got everything cleared out and she took off again. I laid around until she came back and she showered and stuff in my room then took off once again for a restaurant opening. I watched tv and talked to Susan and Kay-See on the phone then went to bed.

Saturday 12/9, I woke up around 8:30 and Mom called and asked if I wanted to go shopping so I said ok, got dressed and hit the road. I made it to Nordstrom and by 9:15 was in and buying Kay-See her birthday present and then over to Mom’s to pick her up. We went down to the U-Village first where we hit Anthropologie, but they didn’t have any rugs that were going to work so we went over to Pottery Barn and I got a nice size rug, on sale, along with three new pillows for the couch. We headed into Fremont next (via the road along the water and noticed Eric's car wasn't there) and got rock star parking right outside Impulse, but they weren’t open yet so we went into Silence Bird Nest or whatever it is and had some brunch to kill time. I had a delicious spinach and feta omelet and potatoes. By the time we were done Impulse was open and we went in and the girl showed us the items on Kassie’s X-Mas list, we made some executive decisions and hit the road. We went home, I dropped Mom off then went back to my house to clean and set up my living room. I was a cleaning machine except Susan’s vacuum was throwing a lot of dust around and I don’t know why. Then I put Beulah on and started making chocolate and butterscotch chip cookies for Kay-See’s birthday party. I was baking away, watching my cookies very carefully while sweeping and dusting, then I hear a knock on my door, and it’s Mom, so I answer it and she comes in and starts gushing about the room and how good it looks and we’re sitting talking then I’m like “OH FUCK, THE COOKIES!” and ran into the kitchen and pulled them out of the oven, probably 10 minutes later. They weren’t burnt, but they were much crispier than I ever let them get. Mom helped me do some cleaning and potential picture rearranging and we just sat and talked for a long time. She left around 4:00 and I took off for Trader Joe’s for some chips and salsa for the party. I started getting ready when I got home and wrapped her presents then packed up the cookies and appetizers and set off. I got a parking spot not too far from her place and went up to find her and Ky on her bed watching Alias and talking about how they’d both do one of the guys. But Kay-See gets him first since it’s her birthday, and Ky didn’t mind getting sloppy seconds. We started getting the food out in stages and I ate about half a bag of tortilla chips accompanied alternately by the peach salsa and the roasted garlic salsa. I helped cut up some bread for the hummus, then Kay-See got out the Wheat Thins and cream cheese, then the artichoke dip, then she prepared some of the best bruschetta I’ve ever had with lightly toasted bread and lots of balsamic and olive oil. YUM! Um, then there was the ginormous salad she made and the cheesy pizza. Michelle got there about half way through the food inhaling with the cake. She took Kyle and I into Kay-See’s bedroom for some secret party planning. We blew up balloons and put some under the covers then Michelle, Kyle and I did inappropriate things with the balloons. Now those are some pictures I’d like to see (hint hint Kay-See! Privately of course…). Michelle gave Kay-See a birthday tiara to wear and it suited her very well. After I cut myself off from the food Kyle and I were so full we decided to lay on the floor to help with digestion, but we were both feeling a wee frisky so we were mock humping and groaning on the floor. I think there are some pictures of that as well, which I would also like to see. Soon the conversation turned to porn and vibrators and such so we broke out the Paris Hilton / Pam and Tommy Lee / Pam and Brett Michaels videos and proceeded to eat cake and watch porn for a good half hour or so. Cake and porn, does it get better than that? All four of us were cozy on Kay-See’s bed and providing running commentary. Kyle also helped us out with some more bj / hj tips that were very informative. Soon we became bored of the porn and moved back into the living room where we talked about work environments and coworkers which led to all of us logging on myspace and editing our profiles, tee hee. I’m not sure who came up with the idea, actually I’m pretty sure it was me now that I say that, but we decided it would be HILARIOUS to prank call people from Kyle’s phone because he can block his number (we did a test run on my phone). We all ended up back on Kay-See’s bed moaning and groaning (that part wasn't my idea, though I wish it was) and rocking the bed while Michelle dirty talked into the phone in an old lady Japanese voice. Unfortunately Michelle didn’t actually turn the phone off and we all started talking and laughing not realizing that it was still recording on R’s voicemail and Kay-See totally said my name so the jig was going to be up as soon as he listens to it. We called Michelle’s siblings and Ky left a hilarious message on her sister’s voicemail. I wanted to call Eric and leave one, but we didn’t because I knew I’d want to write about it and there’s a slight possibility that he reads this and would know it was me. Anyway, the moral of the story is that leaving dirty pornographic messages on your friends’ voicemails is a lot of fun and makes for quite an entertaining Saturday night. It was around midnight and Kyle and I decided to pack up and head home. We walked to my car and I dropped him off at his house then went home and crawled into bed. What a fun night.

Friday 12/8, After work Susan hung out for a little while then left and I ended up in my room for the night stalking a few specific people online and found some dirt, but not too much. I was also going through all my blogs from when Eric and I first started “hanging out” and was laughing out loud at some of those. It was a nice trip down memory lane and made me happy that I met him (even though he's currently totally dissing me). I was inspired and decided to call him around 7 or 8 and left a message. I continued to play online then got impulsive and called him again around midnight, but surprise surprise, he didn’t answer but I left another message anyway. I went to bed not too much later.

Thursday 12/7, Had my review and it went fine, I’m just glad it’s over. I went straight home and was able to park my car in the garage because Kassie and Skylar got it all organized, so no more parking outside, yay! I still wasn’t feeling good so I showered to get warm then made some pasta for dinner and crawled into bed for the evening. I was laughing and talking to myself all evening. I think I was a bit delirious, but at least I was having a great time. I watched some VH1 best pranks special and the #1 was so hilarious and was the only reason I watched the whole damn thing. I kept waiting for that particular one and it just happened to be #1. I talked to Susan on the phone after it was over then took a Benadryl and went to sleep.

Wednesday 12/6, Peggy let me leave a little early because I felt like shit so I went home, turned up the heat and curled up on the couch with my yellow comforter. I had my computer with me, a magazine and the tv on. I made some soup for dinner and I ended up in my room after a few hours looking through flickr pictures and doing a little online stalking until about 11:00. Took a Benadryl before bed and slept like a baby.

Geez

lactating pictures

The latest search phrase that led someone to my blog. Yikes.
Tuesday 12/5, Jake called me around 3:30 at work but I let it go to voicemail then listened to it and he was calling about the evening’s events and said he had an idea but I needed to call him back asap. So I did and left him a message. He called me back when I was at home and working on my review and asked me what I was doing Wednesday because his friend had called him and invited him to go to the Sonics game with court side seats. I said it was fine and that he should go and that if he wanted to reschedule that would be fine with me. We have tentative plans for Sunday and we continued to chat for about 20 minutes. He thinks it’s refreshing that I go to family dinner every Sunday night, which I thought was cute. Also, his last name sounds like something funny if you say it fast. Because my plans had changed I decided to try and do some stuff downstairs to straighten up, clean and organize. I got the shelves in the glass cabinets and put one of my roosters in to see if Kassie would notice, I put some dishes and pots and pans away and did a little more tidying. I started making dinner and Susan came over and ate her dinner there with me while we watched Seinfeld and WoF. Kassie and Skylar got there a little before 8 and Kassie asked me about Jake right away and why I wasn’t hanging out with him and Skylar insisted on seeing his profile so I showed him and he was asking why I wasn’t hanging out with him and I told him and he was like “No Karrah, you need a 10. You deserve a 10! You’re better than a Sonics game, I don’t know about this guy.” I thought that was cute and won Skylar some points in my book. It was funny because I was trying to convince him that Jake really is a good guy (um, from what I can tell talking to him on the phone a whole two times) and that I can't keep my expectations very high. We did decide that I needed to raise them and my standards though. Stop settling. Anyway, finally we stopped ogling pictures online and talking about boys and helped Kassie organize and clean out the garage. We worked pretty hard for about 45 minutes and the garage is almost completely cleaned out and Susan got the little closet cleaned out and most of the rest of her stuff brought down so everything is coming together. I can’t wait to clean everything because it’s FILTHY. I was hanging out in Kassie’s new room and telling her which outfits I liked when my phone rang so I went into my room and it was Eric. Hmm. So I answer it and Kassie’s mouths “Who is it?” and I didn’t answer and she mouths “Eric?” and I nod. She starts getting mouthy so I motion to her to knock it off and she starts coughing all loudly so he asks if she’s got some drop bomb cough or something, but it was way over my head and I totally didn’t get it, so he laughed at me. Skylar yelled up the stairs “Bye sis!” so I went down and was saying bye and he was like “Call me back” but I told him “No, hold on” and was giving hugs and he kept saying it and I kept telling him no and finally when Kassie and Skylar were out the door I was like “Eric, Eric?” and I could barely hear him then nothing. He hung up on me. Whatever, so I went back up and talked with Susan for a little while then my phone rang again and he was calling me back, which surprised me, so we ended up talking for quite a while, not about anything important, just that girls are crazy, but not really and he doesn’t think I’m crazy, just quirky. His word, not mine. Finally he had to go and said he would call me “later” which always means in a day or 6. Then I called Beth and told her I didn’t think it was a good idea to come over because I’m sick and didn’t want to get her and the baby sick but that we’d reschedule for next week. It was about 10 at this point so I hopped in the shower, got into bed and watched the last episode of Season 4 of SatC. I had a hard time falling asleep because I had a lot on my mine, and I can’t breathe through my nose, then I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep. Bah!

Monday 12/4, Dad called me at 7:30 in the morning as I was getting ready for work just to say hi and that he loves me and to have a good day at work. Aww, I love you too Dad! I stopped at the store after work to pick up a pizza and some salad fixings and headed home. I cleaned up and put some stuff away then looked at my watch and realized I needed to get moving to leave by 7:00 to go to Kay-See’s. I got ready and headed out, found a spot but had to repark about 17 times because I kept hitting the curb. I was getting very mad at myself but I finally managed it. Said hi to a tall, muscle-y guy in the elevator and arrived at Kay-See’s doorstep with her there to greet me. I perched myself on one of her bar stools and let the gossiping begin. She prepped dinner and we kept each other entertained with stories about weddings, breastfeeding and children, vacationing, jobs, dumb boys, boy parts, girl parts, bjs, birthdays and age milestones and other stuff. We ate the whole pizza and salad then started in on some Australian candy. We sampled about 4 different kinds and they were all really good. The night was a success, good food, good company and good conversation. I left about 10:30 and got home quickly, watched the news and went to bed.

Sunday 12/3, I had plans to go for a walk but couldn’t get the motivation up, so I got dressed and headed out to Grease Monkey to get my oil changed instead. About 10:30 I arrived at Mom’s to make Christmas cookies and I was in charge of the Molasses, yum! I ate a ton of batter and the world’s smallest molasses cookie. Kassie and Skylar finally showed up and S helped Jake get the lights on the tree and Kassie started the Mexican Wedding Cookies, which I’m not a fan of. I hung out there for a while then headed home and Kassie said she wouldn’t be far behind with the van and Skylar’s truck to unload the rest of her stuff. When she got there I helped unload and carry things upstairs, and made probably 83 trips in all (my calves are killing me!). We got stuff out of the garage and got her room set up pretty nicely by about 4:30. Jason called me and I talked to him and Beth and made plans to get together on Wednesday. I then headed over to Mom’s where we helped get dinner on the table then Grandma and Grandpa got there, we ate a really good dinner then put Bing Crosby on and decorated the tree. (I also scored Dad’s George Michael’s Faith album, yes!) We got the tree looking fabulous, ate some cookies then I headed home to relax. I felt a little sad on the way home thinking about Eric and how I’m going through these emotions for the second time in a month, but I don’t feel as bad this time, so that’s good. I just try to think of something else every time he pops into my head. I think keeping busy this week will be good for me. DH was a rerun so I watched SatC instead and went to bed at like 10:00.

Saturday 12/2, I woke up, ate some breakfast then went out for a walk. I did my short one with a little extra then headed home and started lugging Susan’s boxes and bookcases down to the garage. There were like 30, but it was a good workout for my ass and arms. Susan came home and taped up a few more boxes and I moved those down too then showered and did my hair and set out to PCC. I picked up some new soap, deodorant and other items then headed home where I ended up sitting around for the rest of the day. Eric called me around noon and said he was getting off early so we talked for a little bit then I made him promise to call me. Kay-See asked for a rain check and we made plans to hang out Monday instead. Around 5:30 I called Kassie to see about the Ratatat show, but it wasn’t looking good then I talked to Eric and suggested dinner before he went to his show but he told me that he needed to shower then he would call me. Blah. Yeah, right. So he ends up calling me a little before 7 and says it’s a little late for lunch and that he’s meeting up with some friends on CH then going to the show and I made it clear that I wanted to see him so he said he’d call me after the show. Whatever, I wasn’t about to hold my breath because I knew I was totally going to get blown off. So, Susan and I decided to drive into Seattle to go get dinner on Broadway, see her place and possibly hit Tower. We parked down by the college and walked up and I totally saw Eric drive by so I called him and left him a message like, “Ha, I just saw you driving down Broadway! Ok, um, bye!” and we continued on our way in the freezing ass cold. We ate at Broadway Grill and I had a delicious chicken and brie on baguette sandwich and it was so good. With caramelized onions, yum! There were some cute waiters, busboys and other gays but of course none of them were interested in getting some “Karrah action”. Susan treated me to dinner as a thank you for moving the boxes and we took off back down Broadway. I knew I shouldn’t, but we stopped in Everyday Music so I could see if they had the Gorillaz cd used and they totally did, so I bought it, a Belle and Sebastian cd, um, a Mormon Tabernacle Christmas cd with O Holy Night and something else I can’t remember. Back to the car and we headed to Susan’s new place and found her new apartment manager in there changing a light fixture. She showed me around and it’s really cute and has lots of charm, but that manager may pose a problem, he’s a little weird. After that we headed home and I stayed up until about 1:00 or 1:30 looking at pictures and watching SatC and eventually it became apparent that Eric wasn’t going to call me so I went to bed. Why is this whole fucking post about how Eric didn’t call me? Get over it Karrah!

Friday 12/1, Jake called me about 15 minutes before I was done with work so we talked for a minute then I asked him if I could call him back after I got off. I hit the store and Fred Meyer to pick up my prescriptions then headed home. I called Jake back but he didn’t answer so I left a message and he called me back about 15 minutes later. We talked for about 45 minutes and he seems really nice and we did a lot of laughing so that was good. He told me he’d call me Monday to make plans for Tuesday evening. Susan and I laid around on the couch and decided to watch a movie so we picked out Excess Baggage and about an hour in Eric called me and we talked for about 5 minutes and I asked if I could call him back and it mildly sounded like he wanted to hang out. But I should have known better. Susan watched about 10 more minutes then went upstairs to bed and I finished it then called him back after I showered around 10:30. He didn’t end up calling me and I crashed around 11:30.

Thursday 11/30, I had to wake up super early to make it to my 7:30 dermatologist appointment in Bellevue and everything looks good but he wants me to stay on the meds and put me on something else as well so after work I went to Fred Meyer to pick up my prescriptions. I had to wait a little while so I called Eric and we talked for a few minutes and he made fun of me and said I needed to pick up some Xanex for my anxiety and said also that he might come up to Rosebud to say hi before going to his show with Michael, so then I was all “Oooh, how fun!” and he retracted like, “Well, MAYBE” and I told him I knew that meant no and then he had to go all quickly. Why the hell would he even suggest it in the first place if he really doesn't intend to? I don’t know. Anyway, so then I called Kay-See to make sure she was really going out, and she was and suggested I come over early then we can gossip and head over to meet everyone together. When I got home I jumped in the shower and had decided to straighten my hair for the first time since Kassie’s birthday party way back in April. It was really poofy at first but I managed to tame it and it looked really good, surprisingly. I ate some dinner then Kassie called to tell me she was bringing her final loads over but I was going to be gone by the time she got there. I headed out to Kay-See’s and had some trouble parking but ended up right in front of Richie’s building and walked over. When I got there Kay-See gave me my present from Australia and they are beautiful blue pearl earrings (to match my eyes!) and they just happened to match my shirt for dancing so I popped them in and they look fabulous! We dished some dirt for a while about Eric and some other topics then decided to head out. After parking I walked up to Rosebud and found Kyle, Richie, Cory and Carina (I think…). Then Neil showed up and finally Kay-See and we sat outside talking about all sorts of random topics and Richie asked me if I was a virgin and I laughed but he had a serious face, so I asked “Are you serious?” and he was like “Yeah” so I told him the cold hard truth and I was glad that I at least come across as, um, virginal, I guess? We’ve played T or D while camping which would have made this fact known, but I guess he didn’t remember. Yeah, but it was getting cold out so we all decided to head in but since the couches were taken we took up the back part of the bar. We played Odd Man Out and some other clapping hands game which I was first out in both of them. I guess my track record for not playing games is pretty obvious. Neil doesn’t like the name of the “Coffee Nudge” drink and kept saying it really funnily. Ky, Kay-See and I played a super short game of T or D then Ky asked me about "FuckinEric" then Kay-See left but I think we’re going to hang out on Saturday. I stayed a while longer until Susan called so I took off and reparked my car in the handicapped spots then went in to meet Susan. As I came in all the bouncer boys were looking at me (including a new one) and I pulled my money out and my extra stick of gum fell on the ground and after I picked it up the bouncer Eric said “Don’t want to lose that, you may need it by the end of the night” and I was like “Right you are my friend!” and went in. I didn’t see Susan immediately so I went back and asked the main bouncer if Susan was already there and he nodded so I went in to search for her. I went upstairs and she snuck up on me and we talked then went down to dance and Tye came up behind me and put his arms around my waist and it scared the shit out of me and he laughed when I was all “Waaahh!” but then I laughed because he was wearing a purple negligee over stretch pants. Soon Susan and I realized that everyone there was really not attractive and there were a ton of lesbians all swinging their elbows and acting all rowdy. It was kind of weird. More than one person over the course of the night commented on the total lack of attractive people. We saw one guy kind of being shy on the sidelines and he was really cute but it soon became apparent that he was gay gay gay when he got up on the stage and was bending backward over the crowd and doing twirls and kicks and things. Damn! Then I saw this bald guy with these really exaggerated and weird dance moves and finally I was like, Oh my God, it’s Bun! And I told Susan and we were both like, “I knew I recognized those tae-bo dance moves!" We were stunned that Bun would have shaved all his hair off and got that piece of skin on the bridge of his nose pierced but, whatever, it’s been a while since we’d seen him. Anything's possible. He started dancing close to us on the dance floor and soon we realized it wasn’t Bun, but looked just like him and the dance moves were so similar. Susan said things were a little off though because Bun’s moves are more elegant tae-bo while this guy’s dance moves were more tribal punching. Finally Bun did show up and we wanted them to have a tae-bo-off, but it never happened. Teal came and danced with us and said “There are a lot of unattractive people here tonight” and we laughed because we’d been talking about it all evening. Brett and Ryan and another friend showed up so we danced with them for a while then took the party to the side lines and a drink got spilled all over Susan and some random person’s coat on a stool, whoops. A few more good songs came on so I we went back out and danced then I decided to head out. I got a very long grope-y hug from the bouncer and he was pretending to fall asleep on my shoulder, but I shook him off and ran to my car. On my way home I was feeling sad / confused so I came up with a strategy re: Eric, which I’ll be putting into effect this weekend. We’ll see where I end up.
