Sunday 1/28, I woke up around 8 and decided to get a jump on the day so I ate some breakfast and hit the road into Issaquah. First up was Home Depot to pick out some paint for around the windows, Crème Brule is what I ended up with. I primarily chose it because the name sounds delicious. Next I hit the grocery store then home where I started cleaning the living room out and unhooking everything in anticipation of the carpeters coming Monday. I began the process of taping off my window section which required a lot of precise measuring. S and I disassembled and moved the dining room table into the kitchen, then moved the couches into the dining room. This gave me a lot of room and I continued to do stuff there until 12:30, which is when I called Kay-See to make sure it was ok that I was heading over to her place. There really wasn’t parking so I just picked her up and off we went toward Queen Anne to see some open houses. We were having fun in the car just talking and enjoying the beautiful weather. Since we were a little early for the open houses we decided to park and walk down to Starbucks for a little treat then walked back to the car and headed toward our first open house. We ended up finding one of the ones on my list totally by accident from following a random open house sign. It was the $4.2m one with four floors, an elevator, amazing views and decks, a beautiful kitchen and a great cheese plate and cookie spread. We decided to move on to the next one and were trying to get our bearings, which was made harder by this hot dad playing Frisbee with some kids in the street. We ended up driving around the block like three times and we felt a little embarrassed because that hot dad clearly knew we were smitten. We thought that we had found it at one point but instead we found a $3m Greek monstrosity. Well, it wasn’t just Greek to be fair, it was a little bit of EVERYTHING. The most random and non-cohesive interior I’ve ever seen. We both commented that the crest above the front door should have been our first clue. We laughed about that house for the rest of the afternoon. We were walking back to the car when we saw the hottest guy in a Porsche Cayenne though he never asked either of us for our phone numbers. Hmpf. We got back in the car determined to find this mystery house (especially after meeting another same sex couple who had been driving all around looking for it) and ended up figuring out that we had already walked right by the street when we went to the first open house. Literally, right by it. We went in and it was much smaller and for $3.5 it was a little disappointing, though the views were pretty amazing. We decided to head over to Discover Park afterward and made it there pretty easily. It was sunny and beautiful, but COLD. So cold in fact that we didn’t really stay long, just long enough for me to say, “See, isn’t this beautiful? Look there are trails and army houses and lots of grass. Ready to go?” so we did. We drove back through CH and I dropped her off. When I got home I busted ass while listening to Hogan Knows Best in the background. Unfortunately the cream color needed two coats so it ended up taking me much longer than I had anticipated. I ended up being late for dinner, stuffing my face with enchiladas and taking off again without getting any of Mom’s fresh peach cobbler. Wahhh! At home some little neighbor dog ran into the garage and refused to come out for his owner. I snatched him right up though and secretly think he’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I talked to Mom and Dad on the phone then continued to tape off for the main wall color and started on that. K and S came home and moved the rest of the furniture out of the room for me, though after I was done painting I had to rearrange much of it. I painted until a little after 10 then had to clean up and do touch ups, do a bit of vacuuming up and finally headed up to bed. My whole body felt drained of all energy, but at least I got it all done.

Saturday 1/27, I woke up around 7:30 and had trouble going back to sleep but eventually did. I woke up again at 9:30 and decided to get up so we could try to get to breakfast by 10. Wishful thinking. Kassie takes FOREVER and we didn’t even head out until 10:30. We went in to Issaquah to the Issaquah Café, put our name in and walked over to the Mad Scrapper shop where I picked up some cardstock to make a couple more collages. We walked back over and got seated for breakfast. I had a veggie scramble and Kassie ordered some French Toast for the table to share. After breakfast we went home and they took off. I called Beth to see if we were still hanging out but she was exhausted and couldn’t deal with company so I offered to watch the baby anytime and just take him out and about around the Hill if she ever wanted to have some time alone or to clean or whatever. She asked me if I had any tips on how to balance having a baby and keeping up with the housework and hygiene and stuff and I told her the secret is to have lots of other kids that can take care of the younger ones. Somehow, I don’t think that will be a tactic that she ends up using. Since my afternoon was now looking very open I decided to go on a walk because it was BEAUTIFUL out. I was only going to do my short one but once I got in the sun and got my blood pumping I wanted to do the long one I haven’t done since summer and it felt so good. Plus some guy honked at me, yes! I showered when I got back and got dressed and eventually headed over to Mom’s to see Alix off to Tolo. Her date was cute, but that Harry, her date from last year and her friend’s date this year, is Y-U-M-M-Y. Kassie said he brings out the pedophile in her. Me too. Plus he’s 17 and apparently that’s the age of consent according to Alix. How or why she knows this I do not ask, but I’ll take her word for it. He was like “I’m Harry” and I said “Oh, I know who you are” and I’m pretty sure mortified Alix a little bit. That’s what I’m here for! All of us hung out and Skylar and Kassie invited me to go out to dinner with them and Skylar’s friend Spencer so I decided to go. We went up to CH and had a little coffee / hot chocolate at Vivace and though Teal wasn’t working, Kassie and I figured out we have a Teal connection which thoroughly cracked me up. We picked Spencer up and decided to head downtown where it was so packed we drifted toward Queen Anne instead and ended up at Crow. We had a wonderful dinner and I had the best gnocchi of my life, true story, and we all shared a delicious peanut butter and chocolate dessert. The conversation was great and Spencer is a really cool guy, but always on the move with traveling so no love connection there. They took me back to Mom’s after that to get my car. At home I read through my blog some more to edit and corrected some typos. I fell asleep kind of early, like 11.

Friday 1/26, I fell asleep after work for maybe a half hour, but that’s all it took for me to feel rejuvenated. Susan invited me to come over early so I got there a little after 11 and we headed over to Chop Suey around midnight. It was so cold out so we busted ass up the hill. After getting in we spotted Brett and Willy right away then Sonia and Jason. Susan and I decided to go out and dance with Ely but I got cut off in the crowd and had to take a detour and ended up right next to Jeff and talked with him for a couple minutes. I made it out to Susan and Ely and he was seriously cracking me up. He’d get really serious and put his arm on my shoulder as he’s standing across from me and look through his bangs at me and say “sexual” and other random things and I could not keep a straight face for the life of me. I think he thought it was funny too because I’m pretty sure he cracked a smile at least once when I was snickering. I couldn’t help it, it was so funny. We saw Thomas and I got a nice hug from him and he said “You look really good tonight” well thank you Thomas, I love you. So we’re still dancing with Ely and he leans over and asks “Where’s your man?” and I answer “I don’t have one…where’s yours?” and he looks stumped for a moment, looks around, taps some guy on the shoulder, leans in and kisses him, then smiles at me slyly. Boy that was easy, I thought. We continue dancing and Jeff comes over and kind of dances by us and informed us that unfortunately Teal would probably not be showing up, booo! At some point the inevitable happens: a drink got spilled on me. And not just down my shirt and pants this time, no, right in my face, hair, THEN down my shirt. Fantastic. This is why I dislike Comeback, every gd time I go I get something spilled on me. This NEVER happens at Neighbours and people respect your space (unless it’s a Saturday night)…I’m over Comeback again. Imagine that. There were some pretty good songs to dance to so that made up for it a little but I was pretty tired and it looked like Richie and Neil weren’t going to show so I took off at about 1:20. I said goodbye to Thomas outside then ran to my car and drove home. Kassie and Skylar were there and in bed and called me in to talk for a little bit and we made plans to have breakfast.

Thursday 1/25, I vacuumed after work and did some other chores like taking all the garbage in the whole house out, that was a big load. I snacked on some stuff and watched tv then went upstairs to take a shower and prep for OC. I called Michael to see if he wanted a ride to Neighbours if he was going but never heard back from him before I got there. OC was a really great episode, so fun! I know I’m a huge dork, but I was laughing out loud and talking to myself the whole time. Fantastic. On the commercials I’d apply a little makeup or put another piece of clothing on so by the time it was over all I had to do was straighten my hair. Talked to Susan about meeting up, finished my hair and took off into the big city. Susan and I arrived at our usual parking spots at the same time so we walked in together and said hi to Travers then went in. We checked our coats right away because it was hotter than hell in there, and stayed that way all night. Some song Susan liked was playing so we hit the dance floor right away. Tye came over in his spandex shorts and said hi, that he liked my Vans and that he painted his first car like that. It took a long time for other people we know to show up and first was Darren, kind of keeping to the sidelines, and eventually during a bad song we found ourselves on the sides as well so he came over and was really carrying on with Susan. About what, I’m not sure, as I was keeping a careful eye out for who was arriving and didn’t want to scare Darren off. Soon Jeff showed up and the two boys went off to dance and Susan and I decided to go join them. So, we’re dancing away, la la la, having a fun time when all of a sudden these two guys come and start dancing RIGHT behind Susan. I look at the one and think, hmm, he looks familiar…where do I know him from? Suddenly I figure it out, panic, yell at Susan “I have to get off the floor right now!” and take off. I knew she’d be right behind me and I could explain there instead of on the floor where I might be discovered. Judging by the shocked and intense look on her face I blurted out “It’s Peter!” then pointed him out to her. She found this to be really hilarious and even commented, he’s short, to which I replied, yeah I know. So then Darren makes his way over at some point as I’m still having a breakdown and Susan gives him the rundown on why I’m frantic and hiding on the side of the dance floor. She even pointed him out and I was mortified. I kept saying, It was so long ago! I’m not proud! I don’t know what I was thinking! I didn’t want to make out with him! It was terrible! Then Teal showed up and I got a delicious kiss on my cheek. The boys disappeared and then Michael appeared right in front of me and I was so excited, I squealed and gave him a big hug. We told him I was hiding out from a guy I made out with forever ago and he laughed and was like “WHERE?!” but I was so embarrassed I didn’t want to show him and luckily didn’t have to because he had disappeared from the dance floor. Phew! So I tell Susan I’m going to go dance by the stairs and Michael told me not to worry now that he was there, aww. I love you Michael! Even though you don’t read this! I love you! So Susan and I head to the back but she was getting dangerously close to the middle of the floor, the same place where P was last seen, so I would wrangle her in then spotted him again. I got the camera out a few times and got a couple of good pictures (of us, not P), especially one that Susan took of M and me. Yum. He told me he’s on myspace now and that I have to ask him to be his friend and post that picture. Will do Michael, consider it done! I’m getting ahead of myself. So M comes over and starts dancing with us and wants to know where P is but he’s disappeared again so I couldn’t show him. I tell Susan she can leave me with Michael and dance with Teal and the Gang if she wants so she heads over to that area and M and I are dancing our cares away. We talk a little about Eric (I know a little more about the birthday night) and how each other’s weeks had been going. He needed a refill and told me he would be right back, and of course, as soon as he leaves I turn and look up on the stage where Tye usually dances and there’s P with his friend. Dancing, I kid not, about 4 feet from me. AUGH! I keep my back to him and keep dancing, telepathically telling Michael to hurry his ass up and come back to me, and he eventually does and I tell him “Ok, he’s right behind me” Him: “In the white shirt?” Me: “No, in the black shirt” Him: “Ewwwww” Me: “I know, be quiet!” Michael just kept looking up there and laughing and finally Susan came back and she kept looking up there and was like “Um, Karrah? I don’t think you have to worry about him, he’s really giving it to that guy” Hm. Must be bi. Whatevs. Now I’m going to be checking his blog like crazy to see if he writes anything about it. It was so hot in there and we were all dancing up a storm and I was so sweaty it was disgusting. But at least I was burning a ton of calories. It was like a sweat lodge or something. So Michael leaves again to refill and Teal & Co come over and start dancing by us then M comes back over and apparently recognizes Teal because he’s like “Hey!” and then motions like he’s performing fellatio on an imaginary penis right by Teal’s chest. I’m like, Hm, ok, Michael’s so random sometimes. Like patting people on the head that he doesn’t even know. Or yelling “Yeah! I want to go dance with her” to girls who are really breaking it down. Or commenting loudly “Wow, she’s a really good dancer, and I can totally see her ball sack!” I laughed for about 5 minutes after that one. I’d look over at this particular lady and just hear Michael in my head saying “ball sack” plus it was quite a large one anyway and she was making no effort to hide it. Anyway, so the group of us are all dancing and Susan keeps laughing at some of my dance moves, but I think Michael appreciates all of them and we’d really get in sync on some of them though we did kick each other on one of them. PMT (only Susan will know who this is, sorry kids) was lurking around and Michael said he’d met him outside in line and likes him because he was there by himself. I told M that he likes Susan and follows her around the dance floor. Michael said that Susan and I are like lesbians and I yelled “I know, I’m even wearing a wife beater!” He asked whether or not Jeff was gay, and Susan says no but we don't know for sure, so he says, I'm going to find out! I yelled "Michael no!" and mock bit my fingernails in fright. So he didn't. A kind of bad song came on so we decided to head out and as I was saying bye to Michael he told me he was so glad I called him to come out and I told him I think he’s great and love him so much and he gave me the biggest hug he’s ever given me and lifted me off the floor, though barely, cause let’s face it, I’m not a petite girl. Then he gave me a big kiss on the cheek…wait a minute, there was a time when I was getting kisses on the lips from Michael, I’m going to have to rectify that. He said that his friends don’t like to go dancing so he jumps at any chance he gets and that he would be going next week too. Susan was saying bye to PMT and we headed toward the door where we met Teal and Jeff. I talked to Jeff for a little while about Vivace as Susan and Teal talked about something that I can’t write about on here but is so cute, and hot. I got another kiss from Teal on the cheek, we grabbed our coats and headed out. Got a hug from the bouncer who wasn’t there when we came in and we started walking to our cars. The guys who were congregated at the hot dog truck asked us if we were leaving already and we told them yes, with a sassy smile of course, and continued to our cars. Drove home and found that Kassie and Skylar hadn’t arrived yet. Went to bed a little before 2:00.

Wednesday 1/24, I went on a walk after work, only my short one, but it felt really good and the only way that my calves would stop hurting (because I was busting ass) was to start running. So I did. It was really great and I’m getting more and more pumped for Spring to come so I can walk after work while it’s still light. After I got back I hopped in the shower then made dinner and cleaned up the kitchen. I don’t really remember what else I did but it probably wasn’t anything interesting. I know I called Michael but he didn’t answer.

As an unidentifiable group of us were socializing my phone rang and the caller id read “by appointment” which I thought was very odd. When I answered I knew it was you by the initial hesitation and then by the sound of your voice. You didn’t apologize, which simultaneously surprised me and didn’t surprise me. Instead you asked me what I was doing. Hanging out with some friends, I replied. You began bantering as if everything were ok. But it wasn’t, and I let you know by telling you I couldn't talk to you and then swiftly hanging up. This made me feel strong, but also very empty.

Tuesday 1/23, My dentist appointment went very well, especially since I hadn’t had a cleaning or check up since Nic and I were together. Yikes. The lady who cleans my teeth totally remembered me and that I was going out with Nic…she’s good. After work I went to Costco and ended up picking up Wedding Crashers along with the necessities. I went home and immediately put it in and was unexpectedly reminded of B because we had seen it together one warm sunny afternoon after driving back from spending time with the family in Leavenworth. Ah memories. Anyway, I laughed my ass off watching it and it put me in a good mood while I paid bills, balanced my checkbook and prepared a deposit. I cleaned Kassie’s bathroom after the movie since it hadn’t been cleaned since I don’t know when, then polished mine up and watched the news. It was one year ago today that I made travel plans for Kassie and I to go to St. Martin. Let’s just say I’m relentlessly exploring our options for this year’s trip, but am not faced with as many options as last year. I’ll get it figured out though, we’re not without options. Worst case scenario we go back to St. Martin, so I’m not too worried.

Monday 1/22, I didn’t do anything exciting after work, the usual: dinner, tv, a little cleaning, etc. I did talk to Beth and made plans to go see her and Harper on Saturday though she was severely distracted so we’ll have to see if she remembers or not. I went to bed somewhat early because I had a dentist appointment at 7:00 the next morning.

Sunday 1/21, Yawn. Going to bed at 2:45 and getting up at 9:30 doesn’t agree with me. BUT, I had promised Kay-See we would go walking so I made myself wake up. I did not, however, make myself get out of bed right away. I talked to Susan and laid in bed for a long time and eventually got up around 11:30 and took a shower and got ready. I ate a little lunch and left to go to Kay-See’s house a little before 1. I called Dad and talked to him until I was trying to parallel park at which time he let me go. I then called Kay-See to see if she just wanted me to swing by the front and pick her up, she said yes. She got in and we were off toward Green Lake. We parked and I made Kay-See wait (and semi block me from the crowd) while I stretched and soon we huffing around the lake. It was pretty cold, though it wasn’t raining, and we attempted to keep warm by maintaining a brisk pace. It actually didn’t take us that long, probably because we were busting ass as well as gabbing the whole time. I discussed my tentative boy plans with her and we talked about the concept of truly being single. Before long we were coming around to where we started but instead of going to the car we went to Peet’s where Kay-See treated me to a hot chocolate then we decided to follow some signs to an open house. We looked around and decided we wanted to see more houses so we got in the car and started driving around. We ended up seeing 5 or 6 more and were still looking for signs when the clock struck 4:00. We were pretending to be life partners and I think some of the realtors just assumed it anyway. We found one cute guy (I thought so anyway) who was really into the house we were in at the time and when we went outside I tried to guess which car was his and was hoping it was the truck…Kay-See however suggested that he seemed more like a “Prius-guy”. She seemed a little too enthusiastic to break this news to me, and essentially killed my hard on right there. We headed back up to the Hill and decided to track down Top Pot and it didn’t take long for our radar to lead us right to the front door. We each got an apple fritter and walked out of the establishment with a little pep in our step. Those apple fritters are gooood. We decided to make another check list with various activities and pastries to conquer. I took Kay-See home after a fun and action packed day and headed home. I took another shower and totally didn’t want to go over to Mom’s for dinner because I was so tired, but I bucked up and drove over. Jake was the only one there when I got there which irritated me but soon everyone showed up and dinner was on. It was delicious as always and I felt a little bad about taking off soon after dinner but I was tired so everyone was ok with it. I watched some shows, talked to Susan and went to bed a little after 11:00.

I knew you were there when I saw the back of a red Honda in the water. Then I saw you swimming away from me. The red hair was a dead give away. Somehow things were ok and we started talking and before I knew it Alishia, you and me were on a small watercraft puttering around in a canal but a police officer in the water stopped us and told us it was only meant for two and that one of us would have to get off. Luckily Alishia is a terrific swimmer and she was in the water within seconds headed for a pool up on the hill. It was just the two of us. This is the last time I saw you.

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Saturday 1/20, I woke up earlyish, around 9:00, and got ready to go on a walk. I did my short one, and though it was a bit chilly, it felt so good. The sun was out and there were other walkers and joggers out so it was very motivating and really made me excited for spring to come. I got home and showered quickly because the delivery guys were supposed be there to drop off the ottoman between 11 and 2, so I’m sitting around, working on my collage while watching tv when I get a phone call from them saying that the new one has a crack in it so they can’t deliver it. I just about lost it, but it’s not their fault…I don’t think. So there was no reason to sit around there anymore so I decided to head up to Monique’s open house on the Plateau. It’s right by where Kay-See and I had looked at those apartments like a million years ago. It’s a Street of Dreams home, $3.5 million and three houses down from some Sonic’s player’s house, Wilcox or something (apparently he's 22, just what I like), and 7,000 square feet. So I talked with Chip and Monique forever and wandered around for a long time by myself, and it was really amazing, though I never went out and to check the exercise room. We started talking about the other houses and Chip wanted me to see the one next door so we took the key code thing and went over. This one was amazing as well and I especially liked the master with the cave for a shower and a closet so tall it had one of those library-style ladders that slid around on a track. We went back down to the other house and I hung out for a while longer and finally took off, and when I was leaving saw this BMW rolling in and sure as shit it's the basketball player so I drove by real slow and gave him a sassy look then continued on. I hit the store and got some beer for Jason for his birthday, talked to Dustin quite a bit then headed home. I talked to Susan and made plans to stop by her house to say hi before going over to Chrystol and Schuyler’s and was soon on my way over there. I met R and he said I have nice hair, yay, and I picked up some magazine’s she was finished with then took off for Wallingford. Jason, Chrystol, Schuyler and I took off for Fremont to have dinner at Jai Thai and since they double charged Jason the last time he was there they gave him a credit for four times the amount of his original charge so he bought us all dinner, nice! We had fun talking and laughing about Mikezilla and discussing the dilemma of spyspace and eventually headed back to the house which was empty since B was gone. Chrystol told me that she took a dig at him which made me laugh really hard, but also makes me feel a tiny bit sad for his current gf. Anyway, moving on, so we sat around for a long time while Jason transferred Chrystol’s pictures onto cds and dvds then C made a joke about me not being intellectual and soon we were off. We hit Starbucks first for a little caffeine kick then picked Tong up at the house with the ramp and sketchy guy hanging out on the front porch. Next we headed over to pick up Jason’s brother and it was really funny to have the three boys in the back and us girls in the front singing to Cyndi Lauper. We got to Jimmy Jack’s really quickly and made our way in. It was pretty empty but we made ourselves comfortable, though I completely ignored B’s presence, and started chatting away until the show started. The Hammers played a long three sets (from 9:30 to 1:30) with a few breaks and even got us to dance to one of the songs. One lady there was totally trash talking me though and really started freaking me out. First, at our table when the band asked people to get up and dance, I was kind of shaking my head like “No way am I getting up and dancing to this” and she hits my arm and says “Let’s see what you got! Let’s see what you got!” and I was like, whoa, back out bitch, I’m not trying to show anyone what I got. Then she gets up and grab my other arm to have me get up on the floor and at first I protested, but they C suggested dancing and grabbed Jason and Kyle as well so I got up and worked it. This woman didn’t have any shoes on and was soon yelling at me again, this time pointing at her feet and shouting “You ain’t got shit!” over and over. I was like, ok, I ain’t got shit, now leave me the fuck alone. Overall it was fun but we were all really tired by the time it was over and headed back to Seattle. We dropped the boys off and getting into my cold car almost killed me, but soon I was home and went to sleep. I had the most vivid dreams about Harper, Beth and Jason and also some guy slashing my Mom’s tires at the grocery store. I’ve also had insanely vivid dreams about Eric lately…a little unsettling.

Friday 1/19, At the post office a possibly homeless man yelled at me when I walked by “Whew! Damn!” which probably should have made me roll my eyes, but instead made me walk with a little pep in my step. Thanks boorish man! After work I laid on the couch and fell asleep for about 25 minutes then read a Susan hand me down magazine and watched Surreal Life. Made plans for Saturday night with Chrystol to go see Schuyler play, even though B will be there, and talked to Rose for a few minutes. Kassie called and I talked to her for a long time and told her the story about Er-Rat (Susan and my new name for him) and she told me about her and Skylar. After talking to her I talked to Susan who invited me to go to Hot Mess, but I was a bit tired. Eventually moved upstairs where I watched more tv (fascinating!) and got ready for bed.

Thursday 1/18, I ate some dinner and cleaned up the kitchen, watched some shows, took a shower, talked to Susan then watched OC. We decided to meet up around 11:30 so I took off a little after 11 and almost hit an owl or something on the way in. I parked in a questionable spot and headed in where the bouncer told me that we could pretend that I’m his wife when guys hit on him. Hmm. Said hi to Travers and headed upstairs to see who was there. A snappy dressing grandpa was on the floor tearing it up, Tye was wearing gold stretch pants and a lamé shirt, “Dick” was back cruising for make out partners, and Bun was making up for all those Thursdays he’s missed. Susan showed up and we talked for a minute then went and checked our coats. A good song was on so I ran out to dance and said hi to Tye, but the next song was not so good so I left and Susan chased me down. We eventually made our way back out and as we’re dancing and avoiding a gross guy lurking about Andrew pops up and I totally screamed and quickly looked at Susan, who hadn’t yet noticed that he was standing right there going in for a double hot girl hug. He took off a minute later and then we quickly saw Teal and Tyler who came over to dance with us. Susan left the floor and I danced with the two boys but Von Trapp’s sidekick put on some terrible rap or hip hop song that made almost everyone on the dance floor leave, but do you think he noticed? No, he didn’t, instead he kept breaking it down with his really cool dj skills. Teal, Tyler and I stood there with our arms crossed just looking up at the dj box. Tyler asked for something to throw at him. Susan came back and described her run-in with Andrew and lack of obtaining her Dig DVD. Soon the boys left and all of a sudden a bubbly figure was standing right next to me and it was MICHAEL! Yay, I was so excited and he looked so sexy with his beard, plus no hat for the first time in maybe forever while dancing, so I got a big hug, then he went in for a Susan hug but she wasn’t having any of it, which I thought was a little strange then Michael moved over a little to say hi to someone else and Susan goes “Who is that?” and I laughed and told her then she gave him a proper hug. We got down to dancing and he was breaking it down just like the last time and was really getting frisky with us girls. Dick kept looking over and I accidentally made eye contact with him a few times while scanning the crowd and I’d tell Susan “Oh no, I just made eye contact with Dick! Ug!” Somehow we ended up dancing RIGHT next to him and literally hitting each other’s elbows but I kept scooting over and hoping the girl he was making out with would hurry up and show up to distract him. Finally Michael came over and started getting all freaky and I thought it was perfect for Dick to see, heh heh! A little after 1:00 I decided I’d better go home so I said bye to Susan, tracked Michael down, who gave me a hug and told me to call him next week, got my coat and ran to my car. Drove home and went to bed.

Wednesday 1/17, I hit the store and Pharmacy after work then headed home to prep for Kay-See to come over for dinner. I started tidying and was just lighting some candles when I heard a knock on the front door, and not expecting Kay-See until later, I was very curious / scared to find out who it was. Lo and behold it was Kay-See a bit early. I told her to get her ass inside and upstairs so we could start gabbing. We sat down in the living room trying to figure out how I can move into Seattle and the pros and cons of it all. Sometime during our conversation she noticed Layer Cake sitting on top of one of the speakers and asked me if I’d left it there on purpose, and I confirmed her suspicions. We decided to put it on to watch how hot Daniel Craig can make drug dealing and getting his ass kicked. I started the pizza part way through and Kay-See had conveniently brought a ready made salad and some deliciously healthy cookies. We paused the movie to dish up our dinner then settled back in to finish watching the movie. After it was over we watched some American Idol and almost died from laughter. We were also totally mortified at the contestants representing Seattle…especially the guy from Bothell who we vowed to ask Neil about. At 10 Kay-See decided to head home so I walked her downstairs and said bye. I made my way back up and started cleaning a little then went into the living room and saw her cell phone. SHIT! I grabbed it, slid into a pair of Vans and raced down the stairs and up the hill toward her car. She was pulling out right as I was running up and she couldn’t hear me yelling her name so I yelled it louder as I kept running after her (sorry neighbors!). She finally heard me, slammed on her brakes and looked at me with a horrified expression…apparently she thought I was yelling because she hit something. She thanked me (not for scaring the shit out of her, but for her phone) and took off. I walked back down, tidied up, called Michael and left a message seeing if he wanted to go to Neighbours and eventually went to bed.

Tuesday 1/16, Didn’t do much after work except clean up the kitchen from the dinner making session the night before and talk to both Kay-See and Susan on the phone. I started on a new collage for the entry way and so far I’m pretty pleased then turned on the old computer to check my email and I hadn’t checked it since the end of December…whoops, it was almost too much for the thing and ended up shutting down by itself twice. Yikes. I didn’t keep it on any longer than necessary. Read a little before bed.

Monday 1/15, After I got home I played on the net a little then started dinner. I was experimenting with beef enchiladas and they turned out pretty good except if I do them again I’ll probably add a few things to spice it up. Looked at time shares online, watched some Friends reruns and contemplated calling Eric and reading him the riot act. In funner news Trevor left me a flirty comment on my profile picture on myspace so that made my day. I wrote him a little note asking him when we’re going to make out or hang out. But not in those exact words. Jessica gave me her blessing on that one. Went upstairs, climbed into bed and read my back issue of Q.

Sunday 1/14, I woke up before my alarm and decided to get up and ready. I showered, did my hair and took off for the grocery store. Got back in a flash and put away my groceries, wrote down a few open house addresses and hit the road to the mall. I met Susan at 11:00 at Macy’s where I returned a scarf then bought a new C & C shirt. We shopped around a little but eventually ended up at PF Changs to meet Jason who got there right as we did. We sat down and had a really fun lunch. I told Jason about Eric and he labeled the whole thing “a dick move on his part” yeah, and a retarded one. Anyway, so of course they both get the black bean chicken and I got the double pan fried noodles and they were DELICIOUS. We all got pretty good fortunes and mine was something about being rewarded for being a good listener (Susan guessed that it would be a pair of earplugs). We took a whole bunch of hilarious pictures in the lobby with Jason’s expressions being the funniest and least resembling each theme. We all walked back through the mall and when I made it to my car I called Kay-See to see if she wanted to see some open houses, but she had plans so I called the other Chrystol and she was baby-sitting so I was on my own. I hit a little cottage on Capitol Hill first and though it took me a while I finally found it. It was a tiny little house but really cute. I tried calling Eric, but of course he didn’t answer, and left a message telling him that I hoped he was ok as I was trying to find this big $3 million one, but couldn’t find it. I got discouraged and felt like shit so I went home. I curled up on the couch and watched Cold Mountain because I needed an excuse to cry, which I did through pretty much the whole thing, except for the 25 minutes where I fell asleep. After it was over and I was exhausted from crying I got up to make my snickerdoodle cookies. I turned on Ratatat and got down to business. It took my mind off things and it was fun, plus the cookies turned out really well, especially for it being the first time I made them. I cleaned up and ate my leftovers then talked to Susan about random stuff and watched my Sunday night shows. After they were over I climbed into bed and finished my Martha Stewart Living magazine and went to sleep.

Saturday 1/13, I got up and cleaned the house in anticipation of the carpet guy coming to give me a quote on recarpeting. I turned on Layer Cake right before Mom arrived and we watched some of it together until Kevin arrived. Mom and I nixed the original carpet colors I had chosen and ended up picking a different shade of brown and I decided to go ahead and order it. So I will have new carpet in 2-3 weeks, yay! Mom stuck around for a little while and we talked about decorating and stuff then she took off and I finished watching Layer Cake. I dug through cookbooks and found some recipes that I wanted to try out so I made a shopping list and decided to make snickerdoodles the next day and beef enchiladas sometime during the week. I’ll try the tomato and zucchini casserole next week. Somehow I ended up watching As Good As it Gets with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson and, shamefully, watched the whole thing. So, it ended at 10:30 and I decided to call Eric since it was his birthday. I call him and gave him a big “Happy birthday you!” and he sounded, surprisingly, happy to hear from me. He asked me what I had been doing and I told him I had watched a bad movie and some other chit chat then he was like, “Well why don’t you come out?” and I was like Huh?! Then the battery died in my phone, curses! I ran upstairs and plugged my phone in and he called right back, then made a comment about talking dirty, and again asked me if I was going to come out. I told him that if he was inviting me out then of course and it wasn’t too late being a Saturday night and all. He told me that he would call me back in 5 minutes and that he had to get his shit together because he was outside, and I’m guessing not with his friends. So I wait 5 minutes…20 minutes…45 minutes…finally I’m like, fuck this I’m waiting until 11:30 and then I’m getting ready for bed. I started separating my laundry out and making trips downstairs when my phone beeps telling me I have a text. It was Eric saying “come over” so I marinate on that for a few minutes while I carry some wet clothes back up to my room, then call him. I ask him if he wanted me to come over to his house and he says yes, he’s on his way home and to meet him there. I was elated. Not just because I still have a thing for him, but because he sounded like he was in such a good mood and that he didn’t hesitate at all in inviting me to come out and see him (despite the one hour delay). I was, however, still skeptical and asked him “Are you sure? You’re not going to call me when I’m halfway over there and tell me you’ve changed your mind and not to come over, are you?” and he says no, so I tell him I’ll leave in a few and see him in a bit. I quickly did my hair a little and put on a smidge of makeup then hit the road. It was icy out but I was determined to make it there quickly so he wouldn’t be asleep by the time I got there or something. I got there around 12:20 and his car was there but covered in snow so I figured that his friends must have been driving and since there weren’t a whole bunch of people inside I figured he must be laying low. I walk up to the front door and there’s a present and cake on the porch and I knock, but it soon becomes clear that no one’s home or he’s in the basement passed out with the lights off. I call him and no answer. I leave a message asking him to call me back. Did I mention it’s fucking freezing out? Well it was. I call him back again thinking that if he’s passed out maybe if I call enough it will wake him up. No answer. I knock on the door again, then look in the basement window but can’t see in because all the lights are off. I get back in my car because it’s still a little warm and to try to figure out what the hell I should do. I go back up to the door and knock harder in case he was there but couldn’t hear…still nothing. I’m pissed. I go back to my car and see a car driving up and think it might be him, but it drives right on by. I sit there for a few more minutes wondering why the hell I came over in the first place and that I shouldn’t even be shocked that he’s not there. I call him one last time to tell him that I was there and didn’t know where he was and that I was going home. I drive off so insanely pissed off, at both myself and him, and didn’t get a call on my way home. I resolved to write a blog to myself when I got home (which, ahem, can be seen below) because I should have known better and I felt like the most pathetic person on the planet at that moment. WHAT THE FUCK?! Who does that? Tells someone to come over when they’re not even there / not planning to be there / won’t answer their phone / or doesn’t even tell them not to come over even if they are halfway there (as I had predicted when I talked to him before I left). Arg. So I get home, write an angry blog and tried to go to sleep.

Friday 1/12, Came home after work and ate some chips and salsa then decided I should get ready to go to Kay-See’s. I showered and got dressed then made a salad for dinner (I didn’t want to eat too much because I knew we’d be going to Cheesecake Factory for dessert) then talked to Susan for a little bit before taking off. I made really good time, parked and called Kay-See to tell her I was walking up to her building. She came down and we walked downtown where we put our names in CF then went to Anthropologie where I bought some picture frames and we talked to M who gave us some gum then headed on our way and bought our movie tickets. Went back to CF and were told that we were close to the top of the list so we ogled the cheesecakes in the glorious display case. We were seated and soon learned that hot Justin was our server. We plotted for most of our dessert how to hit on him or give him our phone numbers. I decided my best tactic would be to ask him expert opinion about some of the cheesecakes, though I had to tell him that I don’t like nuts in my brownie. If you know what I mean, Justin. Wink. Kay-See couldn’t stop laughing while him and I were engaged in conversation. Her tactic was to ask for a cheesecake checklist, but in a very suggestive way. We joked that he was going to ask another waiter to take our table because we were being too irritating…then it actually happened. Willie or William took over our table, but we didn’t take it too personally since he took over the whole section so Justin could eat lunch. I ordered the Dutch Apple Cheesecake and Kay-See got the Heath Bar Coffee Cheesecake, and both were delicious. We’ve vowed to try each kind of cheesecake and I think we had a very good start. Kay-See treated me to dessert then we headed over to our movie, Little Children. We were early so we took the opportunity to chat about all manner of things, especially hot guys, moving and new jobs. And speaking of hot guys, soon our movie started and Brad is soo hot, Kay-See and I were drooling and exchanging looks throughout the entire film (Patrick Wilson, dooool). We both thought it was very good especially because of the two main actors. We huffed it back to her building, said our goodbyes and I walked to my car. I got home a little after midnight and went to bed not too much later.

Thursday 1/11, After work I climbed into bed because I was cold and watched some Animal Planet, talked to Susan about dancing, made some dinner while watching my shows, then crawled back in bed to read all 73 messages and friend requests from random guys and strippers. I couldn’t decide whether or not to go dancing so I took a shower and decided to make up my mind later. I decided to get ready and talked to Susan about meeting up and I was on my way around 10:10. Parked, walked in and talked to the boys, then saw Kyle and went upstairs to wait for Susan. I immediately saw a guy dancing and he was all over the place, soon took his shirt off then danced with himself in one of mirrored pillars for five minutes. It was hilarious. Susan showed up and we watched my favorite shirtless dancer for a few minutes then went down to dance. We went and said hi to Tye while trying to avoid the fan because it was fucking freezing, then I saw Shirtless Guy sneeze and the sheer magnitude of it knocked him on his ass and instead of getting up, he resigned himself to his fate on the floor. Tye noticed and went to tell Dan and Susan goes “Tye’s a snitch!” Hilarious! We quickly saw White Shirt checking us out and I tried to ignore him all night but he almost moved in when Susan went to say hi to Darren and left me on the side of the dance floor. I just looked around and didn’t make any eye contact so I don’t think he had the nuts to come over and talk to me. Phew! Teal and Tyler showed up (previously known as “Travis”) and Tyler told me that his awesome moves have been honed from six years of being a professional dancer and he choreographed some local girl’s music video and him and Teal were in it. I saw some cute guys show up and they went upstairs but never made it down to the dance floor so I didn’t have a chance to make out with the cutest one…oh well. I probably shouldn’t make out with anyone there anyway. Unless it’s Kyle or Richie or something. One of Teal and Tyler’s friends was wearing these tight old school pants so I told him he was doing them justice because his ass looked hot in them, and he told me he stole them from his sister. Ha! They played about five good songs in a row when I was trying to leave, but eventually I knew I needed to go so I went to get my coat and saw Ryan, talked with him for a few minutes before taking him out to where Susan was on the floor. I said bye to the boys and Susan and ran to my car. Went to bed around 2:30.

Wednesday 1/10, It was snowing like crazy when I got off work so it took me about 45 minutes to get home. Yikes. I talked to Susan on the phone and had to cancel plans to go shopping because of the nutso weather. I put on Royal Tenenbaums since I haven’t watched it forever and because Luke Wilson is so hot, especially in the part where he tries to commit suicide. Drooool. I talked to Susan some more after it was over about how hilarious boys are and other random topics. I showered and went to bed around midnight.

Tuesday 1/9, I didn’t do much after work except lurk around online and eat dinner. I talked with Lish earlier in the day, then with Aubs online and lastly with Alix since it’s her birthday. The only sister I didn’t talk to is Kassie, but I left her a message so at least I tried. I also talked with Susan about boys and plans for Neighbours this week. Billy called me around 11:00 and we talked for about a half hour, which was…interesting. Not in a terrible way or anything, just, a little unexpected.

Monday 1/8, Peggy let me go home a little early so I showered and made a delicious salad with tomato and fresh mozzarella then hit the road to make my 7:00 appointment with Sean. I got there a little early and found parking really easily, went in and he was running behind but I didn’t mind because I got to peruse some of the many magazines they have. The second one was People’s Best Weddings or something and when Sean came to get me he’s like “What’s up with all the wedding stuff? You’re not getting married are you?” and I was like “Oh, I am so far from getting married, let me tell you” and he goes “Good, because I’d fuck your hair up if you were.” Things got under way and we talked about Kassie and Skylar, Eric, Trevor, myspace, Tiff and Addie, and Christmas presents. Even though I’d like to grow my hair out Sean had to cut a ton of it off (“I cut about a dog’s worth out”) and I told him that as long as it looks good I don’t really care and he says “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Karrah, you never said anything about wanting it to look good.” Ha ha ha, oh Sean, you kill me. Then he accidentally knocked me in the eyebrow with his brush, so I joked that he would hit me with his brush every time I see him, though it might not always be my eye that gets the paddling. Saucy. He gave me a great scalp massage while washing my hair then told me to come back to his “Magic Chair” with him, though he made sure to clarify that he didn’t give it that name, his clients did. Yeah, uh huh. He finished up and I love it even though it’s shorter than I wanted and it’ll be even longer before I’m able to put it in a ponytail again. I paid and told Sean not to get too excited about that fat packet (all $1s) and he said that he’s usually the one using that line, which made us both laugh. I took off and headed toward Chrystol and Schuyler’s, calling each of them on the way, to pick up my magazine and plate. Neither answered and I was worried B would be the only one there when I got there, luckily Jason was there, I got my stuff and headed home. I got home around 10ish and stayed up watching I Love NY and reading my new Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.

Sunday 1/7, I woke up at 9:00 but stayed in bed until 11:00 watching Go. I talked to Kay-See and she wasn’t feeling well but we planned on hanging out at 1:00 so I got busy doing chores, lots of them. I finally showered but Kay-See still wasn’t feeling well so I turned on Layer Cake and thumbed through some magazines while feeling very cozy on the couch. When it was over I watched the deleted scenes and Kay-See called again and we talked for a long time about boys and other stuff and made plans to hang out this week. I got ready and headed to the grocery store and unexpectedly found Dustin, my old grocery store crush, working the cash register again. I was so shocked that I could feel my face turning red and it was totally awkward, but I managed to make some small talk and get some details on where he’s been. I headed over to Mom’s where we had Alix’s birthday dinner which was delicious and fun and lasted until 8:00. Went home, watched some shows and went to bed.

Saturday 1/6, I got up semi-early to run some errands and first up was Walgreens to get all the pictures on my camera developed, which ended up costing about $60 (yikes!) then to wash my car and put air in my tires. I headed up to Crossroads and picked up an old Decemberists cd then called Mom and it turned out that she wanted to see James Bond as well (I was planning on going by myself) so we planned to see a later show. I went to some cd store with a cute guy working then went to Best Buy where I picked up a couple of cds for Alix’s birthday, as well as some treats for me: Layer Cake, Crane Wife and the older Arcade Fire. I went to Moms and ate some lunch then Alix, Mom and me took off for the movie, got great seats and watched the hotness that is Daniel Craig for a good 2.5 hours. I’m pretty sure I drooled through most of it…along with my mother. After the movie Mom had to do some grocery shopping so Alix and I went in to Loehmann’s and I found some great stuff but didn’t end up buying anything. When we got back to the house I took off right away and headed into Issaquah to pick up my pictures. I was hanging out at home and I decided to call Chrystol to see what her and Schuyler were up to and if they wanted to hang out because I was bored and hadn’t talked to them for a while. I drove over and they were all watching the Seahawks game (even B, though I didn’t really look at him) so Chrystol and I sat at the table and gossiping and talking to the birds. My phone rings as we’re mid-conversation and it’s a 425 number so I answer it and it was Trevor, augh! So I’m totally caught off guard and trying to carry on a conversation with a guy I have a crush on while my ex is sitting within earshot, Chrystol is looking at me in anticipation, Schuyler is shooting me a shit-eating grin and making comments about him being in a band…it was not easy. He invited me to come see his band play in like 15 minutes, then told me that Neighbours is a gay club and that he has a boa collection and also invited me to his band practice and to go bowling later in the night in Kenmore. We said that we’d talk soon and I hung up and had to explain him to the rest of the group. I showed Chrystol his profile and she thought he was cute, then we went back down to watch the end of the game. After that all of us (sans B) climbed into Chrystol’s car and took off for VV and I told them on the way there how great I thought they all were and that I wouldn’t ditch them to hang out with Trevor, though they all wanted me to. I got a new plate at VV and but they were closing up so we took off and despite my pleas Chrystol would not do a drive by to see if Eric was home. Schuyler wanted to go to Centerfolds and said he would buy our way in if we agreed to go. I was in but Chrystol and Jason were a little iffy, even though Schuyler sweetened the deal for Jason by saying we could go to some titty bar after Centerfolds but we never got to either of them. We were heading back to their house when I saw Eric’s exact car with a blue bumper sticker so Chrystol flipped around and we tailed this car into Ballard. Unfortunately it wasn’t Eric and I think everyone was a little disappointed, but we decided to go to Sonic Boom and that perked everyone up. I bought a back issue of Q then we went back to the car and discussed going bowling but I wanted to look cuter if I was going to see Trevor, though Jason assured me that Trevor wouldn’t pay any attention to me if he was around (“I’m like the North Pole, everything is drawn to me”) but I still didn’t want to. We went back to the house and watched an episode of Weeds, then we played the interactive games on Chrystol’s new SatC DVD set. First we all played the one where we find out which guy we would end up with: Chrystol – Smith Jarrod, Schuyler – Steve, Jason – Aidan and me – Harry. Hmpf. Then we played the one where we find out which character we are and both Chrystol and I were Miranda and both the boys were Carrie. After those fun games I headed home and got to bed a little after midnight.

Friday 1/5, It felt so good to sleep in but I was still tired. Luckily it was an easy day at the office especially since Peggy sent me into Bellevue to drop off her laptop to be fixed. After work I took a shower and put on some comfy clothes then watched the end of a movie I started a long time ago (wink wink), ate some dinner and watched a few episodes of “What Not to Wear” then went to bed.

Thursday 1/4, I got home a little early and had pretty much not planned on going to Neighbours because I was tired and Susan was sick and not feeling it. She said she would call me around 9:00 so I ended up falling asleep for about a half hour while listening to the Decemberists. I came to around 7:00 and started making a salad then my phone rang upstairs so I ran up and it was Peggy who told me that one of our clients gave her a huge compliment and that I should sleep in a little and come in at 9:00, so I told her that now I had a huge dilemma because I wasn’t going to go dancing but now I felt like I had to because I could sleep in, and she goes “In that case, you come in at 10:00 and go out and have a good time!” Wha?! Huh?! Ok, you’re the boss! I thanked her and hung up, went down and finished my salad then made some gnocchi. I watched OC and called Susan on the commercials to make plans for the evening because I was having to convince her to come out because I was feeling like I wanted to. We aimed for 11:30 but it ended up being a bit more like midnight when I rolled in. Travers greeted me with a “Hello Sunshine” so I said “Hello boys!” and they were like “Boys?” and T said “There’s only been one boy who’s worked here, and you liked him” and I was like “Uh…Who?” and he said Andy and I asked him how he knew that and he was like, duh your blog, when I found myself. Then he told me he read it FROM THE BEGINNING, now I am mortified because there’s a lot of shit in there from the time I started it to the point where he found his name. Yikes. Then I was getting humped from behind and I had to snap “Stop it!” and we all laughed then I went in, scoped out the dance floor and headed upstairs. I saw Teal and his boyfriend dancing and I finally got too warm so I ran downstairs and checked my sweatshirt then headed back up and was startled when I felt cold hands come at me from behind. It was Susan so we sat up there for a second then headed down to dance. We said hi to Tye who was there with his gf, who hasn’t been there forever so I thought they broke up, then we said hi to Teal and he kissed me on the cheek and it was wonderful, though I already broke my vow to never wash my cheek again. His bf introduced himself to me even though I met him a few weeks ago and he asked me if I was the new gal and I told him I didn’t think so, but I think he thought he implicated Susan because he stuck his beer bottle in his mouth and left. We found Vicki and she told me she had pictures of Jude Law for me, yay! We did quite a bit of dancing then saw Thomas who came over to say hi and I got a hug. He’s got some new dance moves and is still hot as ever, especially in his red suspenders. We ended up back over by the stairs with Teal and Co. then Craig showed up and I haven’t seen him there forever and he was wearing a RELAX shirt which was very appropriate, then right as I was going back to dance with the rest of the kids some random red shirt guy came up and asked me to dance, but I politely declined. Travis was cracking us up with all his dance moves and sensual nuzzling. At one point Derek’s friend looked over and shook his head no while Travis was dancing with me but I was all “Oh yes!” Around 2 Susan and I were ready to go so we said bye to the boys and she took off so I headed toward the door and got a hug from Craig then I spotted Thomas and told him I was leaving and that he looked hot. He asks me what I’m doing Friday night and taps the guy next to him, so I thought he was going to either a) ask me to hang out with him or b) fix me up with this friend next to him. The answer was c) neither, he gave me a flier to “Pleasure Boys!” at Sugar and the friend is one of the djs who would be spinning. I gladly took the flier, said bye, got my sweatshirt from my wonderful coat check guy and we left. It was fucking freezing as we walked to our cars. Drove home and was in bed around 2:30.

Wednesday 1/3, I potted a bunch of plants and made a mess of my back steps, there’s dirt everywhere. It’s like a dirt bomb went off, I guess I’ll clean it up this weekend when it’s light out and has hopefully dried out. I felt very accomplished after doing that and also watering and trimming dead leaves. Am I going to be a crazy plant lady? I already talk to them, and I totally don’t mind taking care of them, in fact, I think I enjoy it. It’s very relaxing and so far I haven’t killed any of them so that’s a good sign. I made a really good omelet with zucchini and orange tomato then decided that I needed to get a move on with the new carpet so I drove to Costco Home. I talked to Mom while waiting for the girl to get back from her break then made an appointment for them to come out to my house to tell me what it’s going to cost. Drove home and put some laundry and bills away and before I knew it it was 9:00 and Susan called and we talked until almost 10:00 and she sent me something that’s proving to be a very interesting tool. Heh heh heh. I ended up staying up until almost midnight because I couldn’t get my ass off the net.

Tuesday 1/2, After work they had the road blocked off so, thinking I was being sneaky, I drove around to the other side only to find out that if I’d just asked the cop on the other side he would have let me though, and instead ended up not getting home until 6:00. At least I got to talk to Zeph on the phone for about a half hour which kept me entertained and I think Kay-See and I still need to have a field trip to his place of employment. I set up my rug when I got home and I really like it, then I moved my ottoman to rearrange the living room a titch, then it was more chores and things like putting my new sheets on my bed. Eventually I ate some dinner and relaxed. I don’t think I did much else.

Monday 1/1, I woke up at 9:45 and laid in bed until noon uploading pictures onto flickr and my profile and watching some show with Doug Wilson on TLC or something. Mom called and invited me over for lunch and a movie so I went over there and she made a delicious salad with fresh mozzarella nuggets, lots of tomato and topped with balsamic. We watched Memoirs of a Geisha and I thought it was a very good film. Mom and I talked for a little while before I decided to head home to get ready for the night’s plans. I did some cleaning around the house and eventually called Jess to see how her New Year’s celebration was, and apparently she had a very good time, and again reminded me that she doesn’t want me to marry Trevor, just get in his pants…essentially. I called Ky and Kay-See to firm up the plans then ended up falling asleep for about 10 minutes before taking off into Seattle. Ky and I arrived at the same time and he did his scary voice into the intercom (“We’re going to play a little game”) and she let us up anyway. Ky forgot to bring meat and chips so Kay-See and I ran to the store for provisions and started whipping up nachies when we returned. And when I say “we” I mean Ky and Kay-See. We talked and snacked on chips (those Tostitos multigrain chips are fantastic!) while the nachos baked in the oven and eventually Richie and Cory arrived with Rachel and Heather (I think) but then left again to go get more food. We made two cookie sheets of nachos and neither tray was finished but boy they were gooood. Kay-See and I laid on the floor when everyone went up to smoke on the roof and ate mint M&Ms while letting our food digest. When everyone returned we all sat around talking about phones (I’d left mine in the car, whoops!) and stuff and eventually it was just Ky, Kay-See and me again and I said I needed to leave but Ky asked me to stay for 5 more minutes so I did, but it turned into about 10 or 15, but since I knew I wouldn’t be seeing him for a long time it was ok. We decided to leave together and it was impossible not to get choked up saying goodbyes but after I did I kept turning around to watch him walk away. I drove home and stayed up for a little while reading.

Sunday 12/31, Ken came in and woke us up asking if Jess wanted to go to church and she decided she should and told me I could stay in bed but since it was 9:45 I thought I should get up and head home. I got hugs from everyone and told Jess I might see her later in the night then took off for home. I talked to Dad and Mom on the way home and when I got there I turned up the heat and took a shower. I went to Lowe’s and got a bunch of flower pots to repot Kassie’s plants and also some bird seed for Peggy and Jim’s Christmas present and some other odds and ends like pictures hangers. I hit PCC next and picked up some salsa and guac for Ky’s going away party as well as some environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and paper towels. I talked to Kay-See until I got to the other store and made plans to hang out later in the afternoon prior to our New Year’s Eve celebrating. I did my shopping and headed home where I cozied onto the couch and watched tv where I eventually fell asleep and was awoken by Kay-See calling. I got all my stuff together and headed out. Found parking after some nice man saw me cursing out some guy who took the spot I wanted and gave me his spot instead. Got up to Kay-See’s and we decided to walk down to Pacific Place because I wanted to see if they still had the pillow I wanted, they didn’t have it, but they still had one of the other ones I had my eye on so I bought that one. They were closing up so we took off and went to Victoria’s Secret where we ran into Heather Jones and she runs it so we talked to her FOREVER and got the lowdown and her number then we went to Pottery Barn where they have a rug I want but I don’t know if I can justify spending $450 on it, even if it is on sale. We started getting hungry so we called the boys but they didn’t want to eat so we hit Cheesecake Factory but it was packed so we followed some cute boys to Rock Bottom and decided to eat there. We had fun talking and checking out the few guys that were in there and tried to figure out why this one guy kept walking back and forth by our table. When we were done Kay-See almost knocked her tooth out with a root beer candy and we laughed for a good 5 minutes. We walked back to her house and laid on the floor like we always do when we’re full then Kyle, Richie and Cory came over and we all sat and talked while I showed Kay-See Trevor on myspace. She wasn’t entirely impressed, but that didn’t shock me. Ha! Um, I was touching Kyle’s leg and he was getting all randy over it and started grinding against my butt. This part of the night is so funny but I don’t want to put it all in here. He started doing something else when mom called and I told her what he was doing and he was mortified, and I laughed gleefully. Cory left not too much later and we all talked and drank (well not me) then started getting ready to go out to Neighbours. We took off about 10:30 and made our way down and commented how much cuter our boys are than the boys outside Kay-See’s building. When we got there I said hi to Travers and we went in and the coat check guy we had totally seen at Pottery Barn earlier and I asked him and he confirmed that he was there and then told me how pretty I am, he got a nice tip for that. We went out and started dancing and were having a lot of fun and moving around and dancing in Richie’s spilled beer but it kept smelling like ass everywhere we went, like it was following us. Some Gwen Stefani act went on and Kyle was laughing because he knew one of the guys. We lost the boys at one point and went out to look for them then back in and were just milling around and found them and started dancing again. Finally it was time for the countdown so the four of us all put our arms around each other and I got a nice kiss from Kyle first (he claims he gave me some tongue but I didn’t feel it) then Kay-See and lastly Richie. We danced some more and I got video of them blowing horns. Some guy asked me to dance but I didn’t want to and luckily Kyle was like “What’s going on here” and I told him and he was like “Oh sorry, she’s with me tonight” thank god, then Richie was sad and wanted to save someone since Ky had saved Kay-See earlier in the night from some gross guy. We went and danced again and I got to officially cock block some guy who was trying to get a piece of Kyle, I was like “Oh, I don’t think so” and totally stepped right in front of this guy and Kyle thanked me and was like “Ew, did you see how old he was?!”. Yay, my first real cock block! We were all getting tired and standing around when Richie suggested to me that I pinch guys’ butts when they go by and I was like “NO WAY” and he told me he would pretend that it was him doing it when they turned around and promised not to rat me out…so I obliged. It was so fun and Richie was so on top of it I laughed so hard for the rest of the night. We would do laps and I would just pinch some guy’s butt and Richie would give them a totally saucy look and we’d keep walking. I had a few different techniques for pinching, some times it would be a full hand grab, sometimes only a two finger grab, sometimes three finger. It just depended on the guy. I accidentally grabbed one guy’s wallet and I think he thought Richie was trying to rip him off. People started seeing what we were doing so we took a breather. We ended up in the back in a dark corner and Kyle was funneling people through us so I could get a good grab and Richie would be like “Hey” and all of them were sketched out, it was so hilarious. Then one guy (white beenie) looked pissed so we stopped and Ky was like “I’m funneling here!” but I told him why we stopped and he’s like “Um Karrah, that guy is totally checking out your ass and keeps looking you up and down” but I just shrugged and kept on. Finally we were heading toward the front and this little short twinkie guy grabs Richie and is like “Did you grab my ass?” and Richie just stood there dumbfounded and the guy’s like “Oh, I guess not” and walked off and we laughed hysterically for about 5 minutes. Later this same guy grabbed Ky’s ass thinking it was Richie and was laughing, ha! We decided to go and got in line for the coat check and the guy told me again how beautiful I am and I really like him now. Then Richie kissed some random guy that was really cute. We start walking back to Kay-See’s when Richie runs into QFC to get cash and then wants to go to Dick’s but then we realize that it’ll be closed but he wants to get more beer so he goes back into QFC for that and then we’re heading back so we can get the car to go to Jack in the Box when we see this girl in front of us with a huge ass and as we approach her Richie goes “Excuse me, but you have a very spank-able ass” or something to that effect and she was like “Ha, go for it” but her boyfriend was pissed and all of us had our jaws on the ground that Richie had just said that. We got back to Kay-See’s and set off for JitB and waited in the drive through for 45 minutes and all pretty much fell asleep at some point. We dropped the boys off and then I took off after gathering my things and was so tired on my drive home. I got into bed at 3:30. It was a pretty successful New Year.

Saturday 12/30, Jessica wakes me up with the question “Karrah, did you hug those guys last night?” Me: “Mmm-hmmm” Her: “Oh good.” Then we both started laughing and I was like “Has that been plaguing you all night” and she’s like “Actually yes, I’m so glad you got a hug from him.” Then Ken knocked on the door and we were both like “Yeah?!” and he asked if we wanted breakfast and we were both like “Yes please!” so we got up and Ken was cutting up kiwis, bananas and grapes and Linda was preparing ham and raspberry pancakes. Yum! We all ate together (it was about 10:30) then Jessica and I went back into her room so we could plot my next move with Trevor. I thought that I would call Billy and tell him to tell Trevor to call me if he wanted since Billy had my number, but Billy called us instead and Jess was hounding him for details and eventually got Trevor’s band’s name out of him, but not his last name. So the stalkers that we are we went on myspace and found the band and subsequently found Trevor’s profile and ogled it. We laid around and listened to Ken play the piano then watched a bunch of Rick Steves’ Italy travel videos. Ken and Linda made some afternoon snacks for us including lots of sugary and chocolaty cookies and fudge, apples, oranges and grapes, plus the most delicious Williams Sonoma hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Jess and I decided to get dressed and attempt to make it to the 6:30 showing of Bond but ended up not going and sitting around with her Dad talking instead. When Linda got home we went and got Thai food for dinner and it was really good. When we got home I got on the net again to kind of stalk Trevor and Billy called and Jessica talked to him FOREVER and found out that apparently he likes me and thought it would be awkward if we were to all hang out again, though Jessica set him straight. She also said that Billy needs to not be the middle man and that it was time to write Trevor a message on myspace and send him a friend request. So we did just that; crafted a witty and short message then headed into the living room to watch DaVinci Code with Linda and Ken. We both fell asleep during it and her Dad woke us up when it was over and I went back in to check myspace and Trevor had written back and was stipulating our makeout guidelines. As I was talking to Jess I was commenting on how he’s a smoker and that I’m so not into it and she’s like “Karrah, I’m not asking you to have his babies, I’m just asking you to make out with him or sleep with him and give me all the details” ok, fair enough. Then later at some point I was again expressing some concern over him and Jessica says: “Again Karrah, I’m not asking you to have his children, just to have sex with him and give me ALL the details”. We stayed up a little longer and took some pictures then decided to crash because we were so tired.

Friday 12/29, Kay-See called me while at work so I called her back on my way home and she invited me to go to see Bond with her and Ky but I’d already made tentative plans with Jessica so I called her to make sure we were still on. We were so I told Kay-See to go see Bond and that I was going to see it with Jessica. I did a few chores, made a really delicious omelet for dinner, packed my bag and watched tv until Jess called. I took off around 6:45 and made pretty good time and found her Dad’s new place just fine. It’s really nice and pretty big and is in a small gated community. When I got there they were just sitting down to watch Little Miss Sunshine so I sat down and joined them and Jess got out this delicious sugary popcorn and we ate the whole bowl. After the movie was over we reviewed our options for the night: go see Bond, go to the casino up north or go see Billy’s hot friend’s show (the guy that was at Billy’s show at Pogacha) up in Bellingham. Billy’s friend, Jeremy, was going on at 11:00 so we decided to just suck it up and drive up there and only ended up taking us about 40 minutes. We got lost for about 5 minutes but then knew we were in the general vicinity so we parked and started walking but didn’t know which club it was so we passed the first one with a ton of people milling about outside and went to this other one that looked like a brewery or sports bar or something, but the guy didn’t know the address so I called Billy and it turns out it was the one we passed, not the sports bar playing rap or something. We go in and there (it’s called the Rogue something) are a TON of people there, and by “people” I mean guys, and by “guys” I mean hot guys. Everywhere. Bellingham, who knew? Seriously like 85% guys, and the girls in there weren’t very cute. We wait in line to get some drinks with Billy and he tells us that we just missed his friend playing, but it was just 11:00 so he went on early and we missed it, damn! I see some guy that looks totally familiar but I never figured out from where. Then this other guy starts eyeing me but luckily we headed to the back of the bar where the bands play and where most of the cute guys are. We see this one guy who had my hair cut and Jess told me I should use that as my pickup line “Hey, we have the same hair, want to make out?” but I didn’t. Then there was this other guy but this girl with long blonde hair had dibs on him I think. Billy had disappeared but came back with his friend Matt and then at another point with his friend Trevor, who looked like he couldn’t stand us or stand to be there. He had earplugs in and eventually went and stood off to the side…away from us. Jess conjectured that he hated her because of Billy. The band that was awful and one song was about his dick falling off and Trevor commented to me during another song that it was an anthem for pedophilia. So that made me think, “Well, maybe he doesn’t hate us”. Billy comes back again and apparently Jeremy, the cute friend, has disappeared to another bar we all eventually decide to head over there. Billy, Jess and I head outside where Trevor is standing and they’re talking about what to do with Matt’s keys because he had disappeared and I was like “No, he’s in playing foosball, we passed him on the way out” which made everyone laugh and Billy ran back in to get him. So Jess and I are standing there with Trevor freezing our nuts off and Jessica is like, “Let me under that coat” so I’m like Yeah, me too! So we huddle under Trevor’s coat with him and all these guys are passing by and are like “You’re lucky” and other such comments which make us laugh and eventually Trevor just takes the coat off and gives it to us and says that because he’s from CO that he’s used to the cold. Billy finally returns with Matt and we head off to some other random bar and Trevor pays our way in and we get two little dots marked on our wrists. The five of us sit down at a table and start talking and then some other shitty band goes on and we all try to talk over the noise. So I look over and see this cute guy and I’m like, “Why do I know that guy?” to Jess because he looks soooo familiar and about 5 minutes later he looks over and comes right over to our table and it turns out that that’s Jeremy, duh. No wonder he looked familiar, and he was still very cute. We all sat there for quite a while before deciding to take off and do something else. So we all go outside and Matt runs across the street to the ATM and I start goose-stepping around on the sidewalk and Trevor makes some comment about me being a Nazi and I was like, No I’m allowed I’m Jewish, and Billy and him are like “Really?!” and I’m like, “Well not really, but my stepdad is, and I’ve celebrated Hanukah and Passover for the past 20 years. Plus I’m tight with my money.” Trevor then tries to get me to give a Heil and I said no way but we joked about it all the way back to the cars. After standing outside forever trying to decide what to do, we chose to head down to the Skagit casino. On the way down to the casino we were hounding Billy for details about Trevor and found out that he hadn’t even wanted to come up to Bellingham that night (he lives in Seattle) but Billy had convinced him. We get to the casino and I’m really excited because I’ve only been in a casino once since I’ve been of age and it was to buy a gift certificate for Jessica’s grandma. We go in and I’m mesmerized by all the slot machines but don’t want to gamble any money away so I decide to just watch everyone else, but first Jess and I made a pit stop to the bathroom and gossiped and giggled about making out with Trevor. I want to play the Rich Girl slot machine and Trevor’s all “Of course, like, I’m only playing the Rich Girl slot” and then wanted to see what kind of purse I have and I proudly held up my free Clive purse, hmpf. Trevor wanted to hit the roulette table and eventually all of them got into it and Matt won some money but I think everyone else lost most of theirs. It was fascinating to watch. I was holding onto Jessica’s ticket that she had won $5 on (in addition to the $20 that was already on it) and Trevor was like let’s gamble your money and I told him it was Jessica’s and she just shrugged like she didn’t care so he snatched it out of my hand and stuck it into the nearest slot and hit the max bet button and got three jackpots on the diaganol then they got to play this present game and when the ticket was spit back out it said $62. Jessica and I both stood there with our jaws on the floor, then I said to Trevor, “Um, that’s hot” so Jess went and cashed out and we made our way over to the bar but since it was 2:05 the bar was closed but the lady gave us waters. I looked at the two dots on my wrist and Trevor looked at his and remarked “Oh, did I give those to you?” and I said back “I guess that’s what happens when you fool around” and then we flirted some more and laughed and joked. We decided to hit the road and Matt and Trevor wanted breakfast food and said that Don’s Lounge in Marysville is open 24 hours and Jess and I invited ourselves along and brought Billy in our car and hounded him some more about Trevor. He’s all, “I’m going to hook Trevor up right now…” and I go “Does he have a big penis?!” and he tells us about the Magnum wrappers and we giggle in delight. He also told us that he dated some Saudi princess who is a choreographer and that his dad was John Denver’s guitar player so he has some money and also is a great musician and artist (a regular Renaissance man). It was super icy so we were taking it easy going down there and we also had to gas up in which time Jess said something hilarious to Billy involving Trevor and he was all “That can be arranged” then got all whiny which turned into this weird kind of argument in the car all the way down to Don’s but luckily we all pulled it together right as we were walking in. We sat down with the boys and Billy and Jess conveniently left the seat next to Trevor open for me. We perused the menu and I decided on a hot chocolate and toast. Billy ordered all this food and didn’t eat like any of it, literally he took one spoonful of his ice cream and dropped it in his coffee and took one bite of his French toast. We talked and joked through the entire event and eventually we took off right at about 4:00am. As we were leaving Trevor asked what we were doing for New Year’s Eve and then we all started doing hugs. I got one from Billy first, then Matt and Trevor’s all “Let me in on some of that action” and I was like “Mmm, ok” and Jess and I took off. We chattered all the way back to her Dad’s, then while we were getting ready for bed and until about 5:00am with the lights off.
