Tuesday 1/23, My dentist appointment went very well, especially since I hadn’t had a cleaning or check up since Nic and I were together. Yikes. The lady who cleans my teeth totally remembered me and that I was going out with Nic…she’s good. After work I went to Costco and ended up picking up Wedding Crashers along with the necessities. I went home and immediately put it in and was unexpectedly reminded of B because we had seen it together one warm sunny afternoon after driving back from spending time with the family in Leavenworth. Ah memories. Anyway, I laughed my ass off watching it and it put me in a good mood while I paid bills, balanced my checkbook and prepared a deposit. I cleaned Kassie’s bathroom after the movie since it hadn’t been cleaned since I don’t know when, then polished mine up and watched the news. It was one year ago today that I made travel plans for Kassie and I to go to St. Martin. Let’s just say I’m relentlessly exploring our options for this year’s trip, but am not faced with as many options as last year. I’ll get it figured out though, we’re not without options. Worst case scenario we go back to St. Martin, so I’m not too worried.
Monday 1/22, I didn’t do anything exciting after work, the usual: dinner, tv, a little cleaning, etc. I did talk to Beth and made plans to go see her and Harper on Saturday though she was severely distracted so we’ll have to see if she remembers or not. I went to bed somewhat early because I had a dentist appointment at 7:00 the next morning.
Sunday 1/21, Yawn. Going to bed at 2:45 and getting up at 9:30 doesn’t agree with me. BUT, I had promised Kay-See we would go walking so I made myself wake up. I did not, however, make myself get out of bed right away. I talked to Susan and laid in bed for a long time and eventually got up around 11:30 and took a shower and got ready. I ate a little lunch and left to go to Kay-See’s house a little before 1. I called Dad and talked to him until I was trying to parallel park at which time he let me go. I then called Kay-See to see if she just wanted me to swing by the front and pick her up, she said yes. She got in and we were off toward Green Lake. We parked and I made Kay-See wait (and semi block me from the crowd) while I stretched and soon we huffing around the lake. It was pretty cold, though it wasn’t raining, and we attempted to keep warm by maintaining a brisk pace. It actually didn’t take us that long, probably because we were busting ass as well as gabbing the whole time. I discussed my tentative boy plans with her and we talked about the concept of truly being single. Before long we were coming around to where we started but instead of going to the car we went to Peet’s where Kay-See treated me to a hot chocolate then we decided to follow some signs to an open house. We looked around and decided we wanted to see more houses so we got in the car and started driving around. We ended up seeing 5 or 6 more and were still looking for signs when the clock struck 4:00. We were pretending to be life partners and I think some of the realtors just assumed it anyway. We found one cute guy (I thought so anyway) who was really into the house we were in at the time and when we went outside I tried to guess which car was his and was hoping it was the truck…Kay-See however suggested that he seemed more like a “Prius-guy”. She seemed a little too enthusiastic to break this news to me, and essentially killed my hard on right there. We headed back up to the Hill and decided to track down Top Pot and it didn’t take long for our radar to lead us right to the front door. We each got an apple fritter and walked out of the establishment with a little pep in our step. Those apple fritters are gooood. We decided to make another check list with various activities and pastries to conquer. I took Kay-See home after a fun and action packed day and headed home. I took another shower and totally didn’t want to go over to Mom’s for dinner because I was so tired, but I bucked up and drove over. Jake was the only one there when I got there which irritated me but soon everyone showed up and dinner was on. It was delicious as always and I felt a little bad about taking off soon after dinner but I was tired so everyone was ok with it. I watched some shows, talked to Susan and went to bed a little after 11:00.
