Wednesday 1/3, I potted a bunch of plants and made a mess of my back steps, there’s dirt everywhere. It’s like a dirt bomb went off, I guess I’ll clean it up this weekend when it’s light out and has hopefully dried out. I felt very accomplished after doing that and also watering and trimming dead leaves. Am I going to be a crazy plant lady? I already talk to them, and I totally don’t mind taking care of them, in fact, I think I enjoy it. It’s very relaxing and so far I haven’t killed any of them so that’s a good sign. I made a really good omelet with zucchini and orange tomato then decided that I needed to get a move on with the new carpet so I drove to Costco Home. I talked to Mom while waiting for the girl to get back from her break then made an appointment for them to come out to my house to tell me what it’s going to cost. Drove home and put some laundry and bills away and before I knew it it was 9:00 and Susan called and we talked until almost 10:00 and she sent me something that’s proving to be a very interesting tool. Heh heh heh. I ended up staying up until almost midnight because I couldn’t get my ass off the net.

Tuesday 1/2, After work they had the road blocked off so, thinking I was being sneaky, I drove around to the other side only to find out that if I’d just asked the cop on the other side he would have let me though, and instead ended up not getting home until 6:00. At least I got to talk to Zeph on the phone for about a half hour which kept me entertained and I think Kay-See and I still need to have a field trip to his place of employment. I set up my rug when I got home and I really like it, then I moved my ottoman to rearrange the living room a titch, then it was more chores and things like putting my new sheets on my bed. Eventually I ate some dinner and relaxed. I don’t think I did much else.

Monday 1/1, I woke up at 9:45 and laid in bed until noon uploading pictures onto flickr and my profile and watching some show with Doug Wilson on TLC or something. Mom called and invited me over for lunch and a movie so I went over there and she made a delicious salad with fresh mozzarella nuggets, lots of tomato and topped with balsamic. We watched Memoirs of a Geisha and I thought it was a very good film. Mom and I talked for a little while before I decided to head home to get ready for the night’s plans. I did some cleaning around the house and eventually called Jess to see how her New Year’s celebration was, and apparently she had a very good time, and again reminded me that she doesn’t want me to marry Trevor, just get in his pants…essentially. I called Ky and Kay-See to firm up the plans then ended up falling asleep for about 10 minutes before taking off into Seattle. Ky and I arrived at the same time and he did his scary voice into the intercom (“We’re going to play a little game”) and she let us up anyway. Ky forgot to bring meat and chips so Kay-See and I ran to the store for provisions and started whipping up nachies when we returned. And when I say “we” I mean Ky and Kay-See. We talked and snacked on chips (those Tostitos multigrain chips are fantastic!) while the nachos baked in the oven and eventually Richie and Cory arrived with Rachel and Heather (I think) but then left again to go get more food. We made two cookie sheets of nachos and neither tray was finished but boy they were gooood. Kay-See and I laid on the floor when everyone went up to smoke on the roof and ate mint M&Ms while letting our food digest. When everyone returned we all sat around talking about phones (I’d left mine in the car, whoops!) and stuff and eventually it was just Ky, Kay-See and me again and I said I needed to leave but Ky asked me to stay for 5 more minutes so I did, but it turned into about 10 or 15, but since I knew I wouldn’t be seeing him for a long time it was ok. We decided to leave together and it was impossible not to get choked up saying goodbyes but after I did I kept turning around to watch him walk away. I drove home and stayed up for a little while reading.
