Saturday 3/17, I woke up before 7 and couldn’t go back to sleep so I finally got up, showered and got ready then headed out before 9 and still managed to get to Kay-See’s a bit early. We went and picked Susan up then headed down to Ballard. I didn’t see Michael or the other regular waiters so I was a little bummed but eventually he showed up and was on the other side of the restaurant. I tried the last rumble of the three and it was very good as our waitress had suggested. After we finished eating we decided it would be a good idea to write a note to have the waitress give Michael so I wrote “You’re cute! Call me: (phone number)” and did little hearts on the exclamation point and colons, so she gave it to him and she said he asked if it was from his friend Karrah (Car-uh), but he didn’t come over. He finally caught my attention when he was picking up an order and said he had been at Neighbours and had seen the guy who left me a comment on my page (Richie) and was dancing where we usually dance…oh well. He came over to chat and said that he was celebrating his birthday and to come down but I wasn’t really paying attention and I don’t think it was a real invite anyway, but it was nice he said it, and it was also nice that he mentioned my toaster would be there (Derik), yum. We paid then took turns going to the bathroom and Michael came over while they were gone and we talked about the women who met online and how I should have gone over and sat with her assuming she was buying my breakfast. We got out of there and went to Green Lake for a walk and it was fine until about the last quarter when it started to rain so we were kind of wet by the time we got back to the car but it felt good to do it. I drove them both home then went home and booked tickets online for Trevor’s show on Sunday with Mom. I fell asleep for about an hour and had the most vivid dreams about girls from high school then about Andy and Joelle. Weird. I headed to the pet supply store in Issaquah and got a bunch of stuff for Jacques and his stay with Auntie Susan later this week, then got a blueberry smoothie and hit QFC for yogurt. I went home and watched tv until Susan called to see if I wanted to do Velvet Goldmine and Chinese so I said “COME OVER!” We talked for a while then put in our dinner order, picked it up and watched OC while we stuffed ourselves full of Chow Mein and Chicken Broccoli. We then put in VG and since Susan has fallen asleep watching it 2 or 3 times now, I was determined to get her all the way through it. I had to do a little research online during one part then it was time to put in a strategic phone call to Trevor, left a message then we finished the movie. Afterward we played with Jacques for a good 45 minutes and laughed hysterically especially when we set up a box trap with his pink mouse as bait since I took away all his other cat nip toys. He didn’t take the bait though and it’s still sitting inside the box. After Susan left I cleaned up a little then climbed into bed and watched some news and SNL until going to bed a little after midnight.
Friday 3/16, Peggy let me leave early so when I got home I busted ass and did a ton of cleaning for about an hour and 15 minutes of the kitchen, living and dining rooms. I had all the doors and windows open because it was so hot out and it felt nice to get some fresh air circulating. I eventually settled onto the floor with my laptop and to watch some tv while Jacques milled around nearby. I talked to Courtney for quite a while about wedding details and the who’s who of guests attending. I watched the end of Season 1 of OC and almost fell asleep on the couch. I climbed into bed and was asleep by, like, 11:00 I think.
Thursday 3/15, I was excited to not have to rush out of the house after work and took my time doing some picking up around the house and relaxing. I called Kay-See for stories and she had a good one for me then we talked about my debacle with Trevor and the cute Matt from karaoke. As we were talking Jacques started attacking the backs of my legs and had this crazed look in his eyes, it really freaked me the fuck out. I hissed at him and that didn’t do any good and probably just provoked him, but I managed to corral him in my room while Kay-See just laughed and refused to believe her God cat was capable of such behavior. It seriously freaked me out. Then I talked to Susan and both her and Kay-See were encouraging me to call Trevor to see if he wanted to go to Neighbours and since he had left a comment for me on myspace I figured that was a good sign even though I gave him the cheek the night before. How resilient of him! He didn’t answer when I called so I left a message and tried to be breezy but instead ended up probably sounding scattered. I hopped in the shower then fed Jacques and made some dinner for myself. I called Mom to see if she had any interest in seeing the play over the weekend so we’re going to go to the Sunday matinee, perhaps with Dad, perhaps just the two of us, we’ll see. I half-listened to Ugly Betty as I got ready for the night and since I was trying to get out of there to go over to Susan’s early I had to hustle. As I rushed out the door I grabbed OC and some cds for her to rip. As I got to Capitol Hill Trevor called, which made me all excited, and he said that he couldn’t go to Neighbours because of band practice but that he’d had fun the night before as well and that we should do it again “without Billy, of course” and I was like, yeah, no chaperone! Then he was like “Unless that’s a prerequisite…” and I said “Yes, Billy must be there” so we had fun with that then he said that some time he would get to Neighbours and to have fun. When I got to Susan’s we both ate ice cream and I snacked on some cookies and chocolate covered pretzels as well. I was practically begging to be bloated for dancing. We watched one episode of OC then sang and danced along to JT while she finished getting ready. Soon we were off. Travers was wearing a shirt that said “What’s love got to do with it?” and I was like, “Yeah! What DOES love have to do with it?” and though he didn’t hear me because we were too far back in line, he did see me and wave, yay! This guy in line in front of us was wearing this like African style hat and Susan looked at me and was like “Seriously?” Then the girl he was with was dallying with her ID and money so Susan and I cut her off and slapped our money onto the counter and off we went. We checked our coats and the coat check boy was sweet as always like, “You’re so beautiful” he’s so nice, I love him! We hit the dance floor right away because we spotted Teal and Darren and it was a good song so we were busting it out. I glanced to the side and saw two of Eric’s friends that acted like they liked me when we were seeing each other but I don’t think they actually did. I told Susan and she hissed in their direction. I didn’t want to make eye contact but got this terrible feeling in my stomach that Eric was there or going to be there, and that I didn’t really want to see him. Although, if I was going to see him that it would be a good night since I looked pretty good…but I didn’t want to deal…surprisingly. That reaction shocked me a little. Anyway, we danced with Teal and Darren and I know his friends saw me because they kept looking at me but I just stayed focused on dancing to Peter Gabriel’s Sledgehammer and singing to Teal and Susan. There was quite a stream of good songs played so I was all hot from getting down. I spotted Dick but we pretty much ignored him all night as he attempted to hook up with multiple girls. I eventually did a lap and didn’t spot Eric, not surprising since I don’t think he wants to see me ever again, then returned to the floor. Another bad song came on so I went upstairs to watch the floor and the one busser that sprayed Susan and me with the water one night came up to me and said “I like your bottom” and was like “Ha, thanks!” and he goes “I’ll show you thanks” and did this gross thing with his tongue and I was like, eww. Susan joined me for a few minutes then we went back down when a good song came on. I didn’t want to dance next to Eric’s friends so we went to our old usual spot and there was this creepy guy with white hair and Susan was all, “Oh no, here comes Andy Warhol” and I laughed for like 5 minutes. He totally looked like Andy Warhol. I spotted my goth bf and found out his name is Max and he was look especially sassy with his black elbow length gloves, skull arm band and black thigh lace up culottes. Susan ended up having to roll her eyes at me for most of the night. We did another lap before long and watched the crowd from the ledge and saw Max with a girl already. Damn, he works quick. As we’re standing up there I spot someone on the side that looks just like Richie and sure enough it was, so I snuck up behind him and pinched his butt and got a very excited greeting and wonderful hug. I’ve been needing a good hug lately so this was a very welcome embrace. We started chatting and taking pictures when Teal’s ex came over and gave me a hug and we chatted for a minute before he took off and we went out to dance. I told Richie Eric’s friends were there and that I wanted him to pretend to be my bf, he laughed, then told me Eric was mad to break it off with me, and I was like, “You mean, like, crazy?” and he said yes. We went out and danced even though Richie doesn’t really like 80’s, but loves to watch his friends dance to it. Susan left for a little bit and Richie and I really got down, especially to Aha, and since this idiot behind me was knocking me around he traded spots with me and I told him he was a gentleman and looked adorable in his red sweater. Susan returned and we danced a little longer before Richie said he needed to go so I got another long hug which felt wonderful, then after Susan and him said bye he was like, I need another hug, so we just stood there hugging, like forever and he told me that he adores me. I always fall a little more in love with Richie when I see him. Sigh. Susan and I were taking a break when Simple Minds’ “Don’t Forget About Me” came on and I was simultaneously excited and sad. I danced to most of it with my eyes closed and singing to myself. They haven’t played that song in months and how funny that I had a dream about him the night before, saw two of his best friends there that never really liked me and they played that song all on the same day. Thinking about it on the way home I wanted to cry. Anyway, Max had disappeared for a while so Susan commented that maybe he was getting a bj in the alley. All of a sudden he appears on the dance floor right by us and Susan and I talk about he’s probably got a whole bunch of freaky stuff at his place and I was like “I don’t want him to hang me from hooks on the ceiling!” He looks over and we make eye contact and he waves so I wave back then he comes over and introduces himself and we dance by each other for quite a while, and Susan leaves to go commiserate with Teal and leaves me there by myself with him. Now, when I call him my bf, I’m all talk, I don’t want him to be my bf and I certainly don’t know what to do when he smiles at me suggestively. Luckily I didn’t have to wait long to find out because Thomas appeared and came over and gave me a nice hug and introduced me to his cute friend (Cory? Chris? Curtis? Can’t remember) and kind of wedged Max out. I felt bad, but we’d danced to 1.5 songs so that was enough for me. I was pulled back over to Susan and we danced a little while longer before deciding to go home. We said bye to Teal and he says “I’ve got someone I want to set you up with” so I ask who, and he says “I’ll introduce you when the time is right, and I’ll give you plenty of notice” so I said good and that I’d want to know so I could make sure I looked good and he says “Actually, you know, you always look good” like very matter of fact, not just like “Oh, you always look great!” fake way, it was sincere. Thanks Teal. All these gay boys bring the self-esteem up a few notches. We headed out and got a hug from the bouncer then hustled to our cars and took off. I thought about Eric for most of the way home. Fucker.
