Sunday 9/2, Got up at 9 and worked on census until 9:45 then roused Aubrie and started getting ready and told Alishia we wanted to leaving in 45 minutes and she got pissed because she thought I said 5 minutes. We rolled out by about 11, with a stop at Econo Foods for bread and eggs then arrived at Uncle Dick and Roxy’s. We yelled at Dad for not answering his phone then he got busy on the French Toast while Uncle Dick got the bacon cooking. I got one of the first pieces but it had a bug on it, yuck! Luckily Kassie saw it and got it off for me then dug out that part of my piece. We hung out for a while and Kassie picked at my face and eyebrows then everyone loaded onto the boat. It was way hotter and we ended up parking out in the middle and all grabbing inner tubes and life jackets and just jumping into the water and floating around. I saw some nasty stick bugs floating around Kassie as we were talking about my new wardrobe then Aubrie jumped in and joined our circle, and lastly Kasey. So we’re all floating and talking and having fun when Aubs is like “Hey, there’s a bug on your butt!” and I look and it’s one of the stick bugs so naturally I start flailing around like a seal on my innertube all the while trying to submerge my ass to get the damn thing off. Everyone just sat there and laughed which I thought was not so nice. We drifted quite far from the boat so we all started paddling back and boarded. We went back to the house where we loaded up on snacks and went back out where Kassie and Kasey fell asleep and Aubrie and I rode on the back and just talked and laughed with Uncle Larry and Rosemary. We went and parked in the shallow spot again and I got in the water and looked for clams with Dylan. We set off once again and Kassie eventually came back and joined us then we ran into some people Uncle Dick knew who knew Dad too then went home. I checked myspace when we got back then everyone got ready and we went to the Legion in Litchfield for dinner. The food was about as good as can be expected but it was fun and a nice change to talk with Jodie. Four of us girls decided to go on a walk around town, which was dead, and we ended up getting honked and hollered at. We went to the park for a few minutes then took off for Dick’s again. We went through a bunch of my flickr pictures so Kassie could update her profile which ended up taking a long time while everyone else was down by the campfire. I then lathered her up with after sun gel because she was fairly burned and I put a little because my face looked a little pink and we eventually made it down to the fire. We talked about Dad’s backfires and Europe and the Caribbean then decided to pack it up and head home. The moon was big and yellow and beautiful so I texted Ian to look at it because I was thinking of him. He texted back and made me smile all the way back to Clint's. Kasey and I bunked together and we were in bed and ready to sleep by 12:30.
Saturday 9/1, I woke up at 8:45 but fell back asleep then officially got up at 9:50, woke Aubrie up and headed downstairs. I enjoyed a cinnamon roll in Dylan’s presence and Aubrie joined us shortly after I started. Casey made her way down and I eventually yelled up to Kassie who came down to talk and socialize too. We all took our time getting ready and eventually got going over to Uncle Dick’s where the rents and all the rest of the kin were hanging out. We did greetings and hugged and started talking and such and the eating started immediately. Danny was being gross and grabbed Kassie’s ass and wouldn’t stop sticking his tongue out at her suggestively so she told Dad. Then he was all upset when we started talking about which cousin we’d each hook up with because none of us were picking him. It was fairly hilarious. Beau and Danielle were at the table with us and we all chatted and traded stories and called Danny an incestual pedophile and he got really grossed out. It was time to go out on Uncle Dick’s pontoon boat. Kelly and Mark showed up on their motorcycle and Kelly’s boobs looked fantastic and none of us could stop staring at them. Alishia was like “I feel like a pervy 13 year old boy”. A large group of us went out on the boat and Beau took the jet ski and looked totally hot. I got some pictures. We cruised around and worked on our tans then went over to this one spot where Dylan and Jackson hopped out and started finding clams and we took hilarious pictures of Kassie and Aubrie pretending they were topless. We went back and ate burgers and hot dogs and all sorts of other snacks then loaded up on beer and shiz for another whirl around the lake with a few of the same crew members. After a while we headed back in again and probably ate some more and all sat around socializing. We sat on the floor and watched Kassie pick at Beau’s face and plucked his eyebrows and Dylan was so mortified, yet he couldn’t look away. Kassie and I went for a walk to get some exercise and passed a party goin on with some locals who told us the party was over by them but Kassie yelled back that the party was “Right over here” pointing to where we were walking. We finally turned around and walked back where apparently everyone had been looking for us. Later in the evening, after Dan, Kelly, Kelly and Mark left most of us decided to take a late night ride in the boat so I checked my phone before we left and expecting a text from Ian, was very surprised to see one from Eric saying: What up with you today. I responded back that I was in MN and that we should get lunch or something soon. I did not hear back. I grabbed the sweatshirt Roxy gave me and ran down to the boat. It was Kasey, Aubs, Jackson, Dylan and me and to keep the boys occupied we gave them jobs and Jackson took his role as Navigator very seriously and used the Eagle Creek wallet Dad gave him as a GPS system and told us where the sharks were and which direction we needed to go in. We were listening to Rod Stewart and I sat there thinking about Ian for most of it. Jackson wanted to sit on someone’s lap but ended up specifying that he wanted it to be Aubs and we all “ooOOoooh”-d and he got all shy. Back at the ranch we all watched the news together for a little bit and us kids finally left but went to Beau and Danielle’s to hang out before Beau left to go back to South Dakota for school. We pulled up and him and his friend Eric were securing the crotch rocket in the trailer and we talked about how my Mom had given his aunt drugs back in the 70’s and made her go cross-eyed, and he confirmed it before Kassie even asked him too much about it. Then he confirmed that Dad took his Mom to her Prom and it was funny to just chat with this kid whose mother semi-dated my father. Crazy. We went in the house and met some friends of Beau’s then found Jackson and Danielle and got a tour. We played with Jackson then ended up telling diarrhea stories and ghost stories and laughing hysterically. Jackson couldn’t remember my name so I told him it was Rhonda, then it became Big Rhonda, then it became Big Sexy Rhonda and Jackson would say it so funny, by rolling his tongue on the R in Rhonda. Then he made up a dance for it. Beau got out his senior pictures and let us all choose some and J was excited to put some into his new wallet and I vowed I would bring him a picture of me too. It was 12:13 (per Aubrie) when we left, headed back to Clint’s, got ready for bed and was ready to sleep by 1:00.
Friday 8/31, I woke up at 8 and called Jan who told me I needed to get a new counter so I rushed out to Home Depot and frantically picked out a new counter for the second bath and had to go with white because there was no time for anything else, so I loaded it into my cart, slicing my finger open in the process and bleeding all over my hand, had trouble checking out and almost freaked out, loaded the damn thing into my car and it barely fit. I rushed home and unloaded it and hauled it up to the main floor, sweating and swearing all the while. I ran around cleaning and finishing packing and Eliso showed up right at 10 as we had discussed. I made a bagel sandwich and grabbed some crackers and we were out the door. Got to the airport with no problems, I thanked her and kissed her goodbye, checked in, waited in security forever and eventually made it to my gate which was surprisingly empty and settled into an unpopulated area with a magazine, a little Arcade Fire and my bagel sandwich. I wandered around and got a water and candy bar then back to the gate. Ian and I traded hilarious texts about coffee and the percent of people who say they think it's more necessary than sex. Then he said something hilarious about tea-bagging his coffee and that I could use the mental image to "take care of business" during flight. I was in stitches and people were looking at me funny. I eventually boarded after a half hour delay. The flight was fine and I slept for a good portion of it and read a back issue of Jane for the rest of it. I called the girls as soon as I landed and we started coordinating our efforts. Down at baggage claim Aubrie came and met me and we laughed and kidded around and I gave her the remainder of my crackers which she ate like a gremlin until my bag came then we high tailed it outside (where we saw Harry Potter) and waited for them to circle. Some lady in a Lexus got all mouthy with me so I yelled back at her and Kassie wanted to chase her down but she was long gone. We got on the road with the Heart Strings playing and ended up pulling over to eat dinner at the Noodle Shop or Noodles and Shiz or something. Three out of four of us had the macaroni and it was really good. We laughed and talked and all got along swimmingly. I snagged a Starbucks cookie afterward then we continued on our way gabbing the whole time. Most of my talking was about Ian. We were following mapquest directions which took us through Hutch but there was this long detour and we weren’t sure where we were going to end up but sure enough soon we were entering Liltchfield and Mom called then she put Roxy on who told us they weren’t home and we were staying at Clint’s so we shouldn’t go to her and Uncle Dick’s house. Jodi called me and told me to meet her at DQ and we could follow her from there (I had also just been informed she’s pregnant). When we got to the house we all lugged our stuff in and ended up sitting in the kitchen eating chocolate and delicious popcorn flavored puffs and gabbing away until 11:30 or so. Kasey got their computer working so that I could check myspace and read a sweet message from Ian and showed them Heather’s profile (we were all terrified together) then Michelle’s then we watched the Pearl video before heading upstairs to go to bed. Kassie and Aubs took the guest room again which had been switched with Kasey’s old room and I would have her room and Alishia would have the basement all to herself like usual. The three of us girls whispered and giggled for a long time and looked at all the pictures Kassie developed so that was fun. I read for a bit then turned in.
Thursday 8/30, I texted Michael while at work to see if he wanted to go see Eric at work either before Neighbours or after or something. So on my way home from work he actually CALLED ME, which surprised me because usually I call him and he texts back, so it was a bit of a role reversal for us. We chatted about Eric and his relationship status as of a few weeks ago or a month ago then Michael sang “Silly Straight Boys” and made me laugh. We vowed to make plans soon and hung up. I didn’t walk but I did get quite a bit done around the house, what with painting the doors on the cubby, taping off stuff in my bathroom, taping off part of a window, taping off the cap, sweeping, vacuuming and other random stuff. I realized the counter in the second bath was the wrong depth and vowed to call Jan in the morning because it looked ridiculous and I didn’t know why no one said anything to me about it. If they would only put all the measurements on the damn thing this never would have happened! Whatever. I wrote to Ian and talked to Eliso and puttered around. I finally got ready to go dancing and planned to meet Susan up at our usual place. We walked up and we hate the new door people and the one was like IDs please, and I’m like I KNOW!! You’re clearly new here, I realize that you don’t know who I am and that you’re going to require my ID to get in! I realize this! I think we went upstairs first to watch the crowd but eventually made it downstairs onto the dance floor where it wasn’t long before I spotted Bun dancing right next to us. I was so excited and could hardly contain it. Richie showed up and we squealed and hugged and danced and talked about camping and his great lay on his birthday then I texted Eric asking what he was doing after work and Susan looked over disapprovingly and kept reminding me how much I like Ian and that she didn’t want to see me mess it up, but I reassured her that even if I managed to get together with Eric that evening that I wouldn’t make out with him. I like Ian way too much and it would be a bonus to shoot Eric down for once. I got a text back that he was going home so I told him to have fun with that and kept dancing. The three of us were picking out who was tragic and all sorts of other things and laughed at some of the people. There was some dumbshit sorority girl circle happening and they kept bumping into us and we kept moving, but they kept moving proportionally to us so finally we had to make a drastic move and ended up losing them. Richie left and never came back then Craig showed up and he looks FANTASTIC. I love his hair and he just looks healthy and with it. All right Craig! He danced with us for a while and we joked around about the business cards he’s going to make at Kinko’s stating that he’s a gay guy and can grab your boobs. I always forget how funny he can be. Then some AWFUL Billy Idol act came on and the guy didn’t even know the words to the song. Well to be fair, he knew about 60% of the chorus but he had these awful trainers on and sparkly gel in his hair and was way more over weight than Billy Idol has ever been and had a ridiculous dog collar on and just was terrible all round. Susan and I watched in horror. Then some other act that was terrible too and Craig left during that then the Prince guy came on and everyone was all excited about it and we just stood there. Finally they were all over and I decided to text Eric again saying to let me know if he wanted some company. Apparently he didn’t. Until a few days later. We went outside for some air and there was this semi-homeboy looking guy lingering around but he didn’t have the balls to say anything until we were heading back in and even then he only said hi so I returned his greeting and kept walking in. Said hi to Eric and asked him what the stamp was supposed to be (he didn’t know) and hit the floor again. We were having fun and eventually Craig showed back up and we had fun dancing with him some more but then decided it was time to leave so we hugged him and hit the bricks. Then that homeboy was back making weird animal noises and following us up the alley and telling us to come back and Susan told him what he was doing was charming or something and we laughed. Got in our cars and headed home. Ian was on myspace so I sent him a message but didn’t hear back so I went to sleep and got a few texts from him and told him I was going to sleep.
Wednesday 8/29, I went for my long walk after work even though it was hotter than hell and got honked at twice, yes! Ego boost coming right up. I was sweaty and exhausted by the time I got home, so I stripped down and started doing some chores but quickly got distracted by a phone call from Susan and instant messaging with Ian. He asked me if there was a “Seattle Ian” and I told him no and he said he was saving all his best moves for me, aww. We talked for a while but then it was time to get ready for dinner so we signed off (“No, you first!”) and I finished getting ready for Susan and my dinner at Palisades. I hit the road, there was some traffic, picked her up, ran into more traffic getting to the restaurant, found decent parking and went in only to be told we’d have to wait 10 minutes. Susan was mad I didn’t tell the hostess it was a special occasion and threatened to throw me in the pool. Then she threatened to throw everyone else into the pool as well, especially the saxophone player. She almost threw up when I pointed out one of the chefs I liked and clarified that Andy has personality so it’s ok to like him, then we started talking about boys with nice arms and backs and body hair then we were seated. Next to the pond with a sea anemone that looked like a little tiny penis. We tried to peer pressure one of the fish to give it a blow job but it didn’t work. I know, we’re a classy duo. We ordered and I ate almost all the bread and a bit of Susan’s salad, then ALL of my dinner. Good thing I wore the pregnancy shirt! This old man started talking to us and I think he freaked Susan out but I got a kick out of him and his wife was very nice too making sure he wasn’t bothering us. Susan continued to threaten to throw people in the pond, especially an irritating child. We paid and hit the road, spotting a really hot waiter on the way out and cursing that he hadn’t been ours and wondering how we got stuck with a girl. I dropped Susan off at home then climbed into bed at home with a Glamour. I went to bed around 11:30 and just as I was dozing into slumber I got a text, but I thought it was my alarm and I was so upset that I had to get up because I was still SO TIRED, then figured out it was a text. From Ian: “You’re sleeping…I’m kissing you on your forehead. :) Goodnight. Zzzzzz.” Adorable.
Tuesday 8/28, I was up early prepping for Jan to come back and also to enjoy visiting with Dad before he took off. We jabbered over bananas and chocolate Entenmann’s donuts then he took off and I finished getting ready. Jan showed up with the crew and I left not too much later. I made an appointment with Sean to get my hair cut and to get some bangs back and he thought that was a brilliant idea then we talked about Kassie and how we would both help her move if she wanted to come back up here and Sean doesn’t help ANYONE, especially when it’s moving. Then we talked about how that’s what will be written on his gravestone. Sean: He didn’t help anyone. Eliso called while I was on my way home and inquired about a walk so I told her to come over with the dogs and she practically beat me home. She inspected all the work that had been accomplished and gave her approval and so did I. We headed to Timberlake Park and walked down to the water all while chatting and talking about the boys and bisexuality and other random topics. Sos threw the ball for Anu and Duke for a long time while we just stood there talking then we decided to walk back up to the car and walk back down for some extra exercise. There was some sketchy guy feeding his dog blackberries. We talked more then we went back to my place where she dropped me off and I told her I’d see her at her place in a few. I checked in with Jan and he went over some stuff with me then I took off with Kassie’s old receiver and DVD player that she was just going to give away to see if they wanted it. We looked at Eliso’s wedding pictures and there were so many good ones, the slideshow made me a little weepy a few times and brought back all the memories from it. There were a few really good ones of Ian and I would squeal in delight every time he showed up on the screen. I called Jim and told him we would come over so they could look at his old dresser then headed out. They liked it so we loaded it into the Mercedes and Sos and I drove back in that and Jake in their car, we unloaded it, then Sos and I drove back and socialized with Jim a little. He invited them to come over while they’re away in Italy while I’m there and we can hang out which Eliso was all over. We hit the store on the way home and started on dinner when we got there. She fed me some delicious homemade cream of chicken soup and I fixed the salad and bread, yay me! I made her look at all the wedding pictures I had and she liked a bunch but hated some of the other ones, ha! Around 9 I rolled out and I’m not sure what I did at home, inspected the work maybe and vacuumed? Read and went to bed? Sure, sounds good.
Monday 8/27, Dad was flying back into town so I was busting ass at home trying to make SOME SORT of progress since he’d been there last. I can’t remember if I did or not…but I think I made a little bit. He got there around 8 and we took off right away for Outback to get some grub. We were seated in the nicest girl’s section, we loved her! She talked to us forever and ever about how awful Bellevue people can be and she gave us recommendations (I was thrilled with my chicken!) and about moving and how it’s hard on kids and all sorts of other stuff. We wrapped it up and decided to see if DQ was open and I commented that if it was that that would be my third trip in as many days to DQ. Dad’s rationale: “It’s ice milk, no fat, low cal” I don’t know if I believe him, but I let him persuade me into more iced treats! The guy who rung us up was soo funny Dad could barely breathe he was laughing so hard. He told us he owned the whole block and said that some guy keeps stealing all their garbage (one of his co-workers who looked over at us sheepishly) among other things. We watched him from afar and continued to be entertained all the way through our desserts. I got the Kit Kat blizzard again because it was so good the first time. We went home and it was almost 10:30 so we both turned in and I read some before going to sleep.
Back at the ranch we all watched the news together for a little bit and us kids finally left but went to Beau and Danielle’s to hang out before Beau left to go back to South Dakota for school.
