Sunday 2/24, Ah yes. The day Ian goes to HI with Sasha. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought...I mean, I didn't freak out or anything because I needed not to. I just still feel incredibly sad about us not being together and think about him constantly. Yeah, I'm sad...to say the least. Not depressed or anything, just in mourning. Everything reminds me of him. I’m listening to Cat Power right now and it reminds me of the last time I was in PDX and driving around aimlessly and enjoying the sun and each other and making each other laugh. I’m so sad. Anyway, I woke at 8:45 and tried to go back to sleep until about 10 and finally resigned to getting up. Called Susan to make brunch plans then got ready and out the house. It didn't look like it was going to be as nice as the day before so I layered but before long I was putting my shades on because the sun was bright. I picked Susan up at the bus stop and with her stellar directions headed down into Madrona to St. Cloud's. We only had a few minutes to wait and the guy insisted knowing exactly how to spell my name. We were seated in the bar and got the same breakfast with slight variations. Susan's variation was delicious! Breakfast was good but we didn't stick around there long because the Grocery Outlet was on the itinerary and I COULDN'T wait to clean out their supply of Famous Amos lemon whatever cookies. We saw this big screaming / swearing match break out and were both totally fascinated and hid in the cookie aisle watching from a distance. A whole lot of crazy up in there. My arms were completely full and I only spent $20 and got 5 lbs worth of cookies. Literally. We went back to Susan's and on the way noticed one of the tennis courts was empty so we each grabbed our racquets and set out to try out our tennis skills. Needless to say neither of us were very good but by the end we were returning each other's serves back and forth. So we got a good workout, especially because we couldn’t stop laughing. I almost hit the ball over the fence no less than 4 times. It was actually a lot of fun and felt great to be out in the sun. Susan said we should each name our racquet and dubbed mine "Winchester" and I dubbed hers "P*nis" or "P*ssy" I can't remember which one she picked. Probably neither. Maybe she decided on "P*ssy Power" that was a pretty good one. We went back up to her place after we hit our ball into the Asian guys' court for the third time and subsequently received dirty looks. We've decided we're going to get tennis skirts though, so next time we'll at least look the part. We decided to walk to 15th for various reasons and stopped at an open house on the way though it was tiny and I don't like the building. Next stop was Sonic Boom where we both picked up a mag and some cds. Back down to Victrola for some beverages then over to Volunteer Park picking out the houses we liked on the way. We climbed the water tower and took tons of pictures because the view was so beautiful. The loud children, however, were not so beautiful. We went down and Susan snubbed a little girl who asked how many steps there were, so I picked up the slack. We went and sat by the statue across from the Asian Art Museum and soaked up the sun. It felt so wonderful and we took more pictures then had our picture taken by some cute (probably gay) guys. We discussed lippy and how I prefer the kind that squirts out rather than the kind you have to put your finger into. I spotted Chris from Neighbs who was with his bf and their two tiny little cute dogs. One was very skittish because he was a rescue which I told them is great. I find it so irritating and unnecessary when people buy dogs. Like it's some fashion statement or something. Bleh. Anyway, so we talked to them for a while and Chris said some big black lady picked him up at Neighbours last time then dropped him on his back but he managed to not spill his drink. It was really funny. A little after they left we left and took a little back way and checked out more houses and walked on the sunny side of the street. I kind of dissed this house and didn't realize the occupants were sitting right on the front porch so we hurried by after that. Back at Susan's I settled onto the couch with lots of blankets, confirmed plans with Kay-See and Ky and Susan and I talked for a while before I fell asleep. I was so comfortable and didn't want to get up but at 5 it was time to head over to K's. It was still really beautiful out, if not a little chilly. I was the last to arrive and before long we set out for Safeway to pick up ingredients for dinner. That was fun and all sorts of dirty Hot Karl jokes were made after K grabbed an extra plastic bag and didn’t know what to do with it. Michelle gave her a very specific idea. We drove home discussing politics and grilled K on the way back up to her place about R and how she's too good for him and how he knows it and that's why he always cut her down. We started eating chips and dip (trashin it up) and Ky made some little mushroom puff pastries and I defatted all the chicken breasts because everyone else was squeamish. Erik called so I talked to him for a few minutes then got off because it was girls' night and everyone was making faces and saying "Hi beautiful!" and other annoying things as I attempted to shush them. Jerks. We continued to devour everything in sight then went up to the roof so Ky could smoke and froze our asses off. We talked about getting some binoculars to spy on people in other condos and I told them about Michael's set he keeps by the window. Back downstairs talking about my areola hickie (hilarious!) and finally the salty chicken came out and it was perfect, as always. I don't think it's possible to screw up that recipe. We ate and ate and ate and when we were done we had cookies and sugar free jello (lime, yum!) then laid on the floor and made fun of K's dirty apartment. Except that it's not really. Michelle creeped us all out with her puppet that looks like a preemie and scared Kay-See by telling her she would leave it there and it would look over the shower curtain at her and pretend to wash it's bald head. We also pretended it gave Ky a hand job in the elevator. So finally the three of us took off and Ky gave us a ride to my car and I dropped Michelle off at home as we talked in super deep voices and thanked Jesus for hand jobs. I drove home and showered and cleaned the kitchen a little and transferred my pictures to my computer. Now it's flickr time!

Saturday 2/23, I woke up before 9 and yelled repeatedly at J to shut up and leave me alone. I finally got up to get some breakfast then back into bed to play on the net for a few hours. I got up and because it was soooo beautiful out I put my walking clothes on and set out on my long walk. I ran some of it but I just wanted to be outside so I didn’t really push myself and think I probably did 3.5 miles and was just tired enough when I got home. I made some lunch then started in on the oatmeal and chocolate and butterscotch chip cookies I had been fixin to make since Wednesday. I talked to Susan on the phone for a good part of that and we firmed up plans for brunch and hanging out Sunday. I showered and watched some of the third season of Arrested Development and fell asleep. When I woke up Chrystol called me and asked if I was going to the show and I told her yes and that I’d pick her up around 8:45. I got ready and headed out and called Susan on the way and arrived at Chrystol’s a bit early. She showed me her new phone and we talked about their pet ants and all the rest of the animals. We headed out and talked about facials and our skin and vacations and found Shanty Tavern very easily through it all. The boys had gone on a bit early and Schuyler smiled at us through the front window as we walked up. We went in and I spotted Andrew sitting right up in front of the band, though off to the side, taking pictures. We headed toward the back and spotted Schuyler’s parents and stood by them. After a couple songs I went up to say hi to Andrew but it was pretty loud so I didn’t talk to him much then Sam said hi to me and I could feel my face turn red but returned the greeting. Schuyler was rockin a new mustache and some serious sideburns that were very visible from even the back of the venue. All the boys asked Chrystol what she thought of the stache and Sam said the gf’s opinion weighs heavily. She likes it and so do I, he pulls it off well. Andrew moved back and forth from the front and would come talk to me and we discussed Craig then when he left this short totally drunk Asian guy kept eyeballing me. The HR played a good set and I particularly liked Blue Eye Shadow and I think the Artificial Chocolate song. I think. Or perhaps it was Train Wreck. After the show Chrystol and I talked with Schuyler’s parents about what we’d done that day the Schuyler came and joined us and finally Sam. The little Asian guy was back and asking C and me all sorts of questions then Andrew came in and saw he was pestering us and kind of stepped in and the guy asked him which one of us was his girlfriend and A told him neither but told him C was with S so then he turned his attention solely to me. Great! Chrystol just cracked up. The table up at the front was open so a couple of us went and snagged it. C and I ended up there by ourselves and started writing notes back and forth about how we felt really uncool and that the popular girls were outside smoking on the hood of someone’s car. The second band was good but we both put our earplugs in because it was very loud. There was a guy who was totally drunk but totally spot on with his dance moves and he kept coming over and shaking our hands, repeatedly. Like 12 or 13 or 18 times. He was hilarious and Chrystol loved him. Especially his “Native Pride” hat. Plus he would come over and say things like “Hi pilgrims!” or “Can I give you an Eskimo kiss?” or “How” with his hand raised. Sam told me I missed the song with my name in it and I was bummed but they went on early so that’s why we missed it. Chrystol, Sam and me started passing notes back and forth and Sam’s handwriting was really hard to read so I would write what I thought it said underneath a word I couldn’t read and he would clarify. It was really fun and the drunk guy kept dancing around in front of us and knocked a stool over so he could put his foot on it and rock it back and forth. For one and a half songs. Seriously. It was a lot of fun and Sam and I talked quite a bit between sets and he told me all about the brunch selections at his restaurant and other places he’s worked. After the last band we were attempting to make plans for afterward and were invited to a house party in Wallingford but decided against it and started getting ready to leave. Us girls decided to drive back to Chrystol and Schuyler’s and we talked about the Native Pride guy vs the creepy Asian guy then Erik and all the stories there then Eric and how when Chrystol asked him to describe the kind of girl he would want to date that she noticed that many of the characteristics resembled my own so that was kind of fun but I told her that I’m not trying to hook up or anything, it’s more than I enjoy the group hang and the chance to practice my flirting. So then we arrived at her house but instead of going in or parking properly we just sat in my car until almost 3am talking about Erik again and Eric (redhead) and sex and Kassie and Jess and the fabulous lives they lead and Tim F*tch who is probably my soul mate and relationships and probably a whole lot of other stuff I’m not recalling because we were out there for almost two hours, but it was so fun. Girl talk is always fun. At almost three she headed in and I headed home.

Friday 2/22, Susan wrote to me during the day inquiring about getting together after work so we planned our meetup at Target. I wasn’t planning on getting anything but that went out the window pretty quickly. I found a sweater on the clearance rack then we migrated to the home clearance area where we both picked up some mugs, I got a picture frame and a big lamp for $17, score! With lampshade! It’s just missing the finial so I need to go to Home Depot and pick one up. We were wandering aimlessly when Susan spotted Richrd so we talked to him for probably a good 20 minutes and he gave us updates on Tower people and on what he’s doing and some other stuff so that was fun. We bought our stuff then headed over to Taco Time for dinner because I haven’t had it in a million years and it sounded good. One of the employees was leering and saying inappropriate things and Susan and I just laughed and avoided making eye contact with him, though we both found it hilarious. I told her my Erik stories from the night before and we talked about D though no conclusions were drawn on either topic. Next we went to Famous Footwear and I refrained from buying more shoes. Back over to Target and Susan followed me home. We sat in the living room and ate ice cream and played with J and on the internet but didn’t watch Donnie Darko. I think Susan left a little before 10 but I really have no idea what time it was. I showered and climbed into bed and fell asleep watching Family Guy.

Thursday 2/21, Erik texted saying he was getting off work at 6:30 and wondered if I wanted to get dinner or see a movie. Again, sigh. Not sure what I'm doing / going to do. I rushed home and did my workout, extended version, and sweated up a storm again. There was sweat everywhere. Gross. I called Susan and we made plans for meeting up later and she gave me some advice in the Erik dept relating to Ian which I welcomed then had to hang up so I could get ready. I showered then talked to Erik and we were having a difficult time figuring out what to do so I told him to come over to my house and I would figure out something to eat for myself (mmm, leftover meatballs!). I cleaned up a bit, finished getting ready and put laundry away until I saw him pull in. We ended up making out in the living room for a long time then when I asked what he wanted to do he said he didn't care he was just glad to be hanging out with me. So I suggested watching a movie and took him upstairs to pick a movie. He was not much help in that department so I picked Royal Tenenbaums and we got situated on the bed. The movie was not even on for five minutes when he started kissing me and it lasted throughout the entire movie and then some. And then some more. Except when I told him we had to stop because it was one of my favorite parts. So I'm not going to go into too much detail but let's say there was a fair amount of hair pulling (...jeez), lots of grinding and super heated kissing. Oh yeah, and he did something that I've not had ANY guy do in recent memory...if EVER. Ha, oh Susan's going to get a kick out of this. Actually, what I really liked was when he would kiss my sides and stomach, like all over and slowly and with a little sucking. Mmm. What is it with the Eric(k)s? They know something...it must come naturally. I think he knows exactly what to do, but I didn't put the theory to the test because I'm not like that. In fact at one heated point he grabbed my belt and top of my pants to pull me up to him but I thought he was going to try to take my pants off and I was like "No!" and he's like "...I was just moving you" so I sheepishly apologized. I'm Karrah, I'm jumpy if you get near my pants! He said a lot of complimentary things like that I'm beautiful and sexy and all that which I didn't really know how to take "...um, thank you...?" then he said that I slay him, which made me cringe because that's what Nic used to say. Oh well, it's not like he knows. What does that even mean? Like a dragon? Slay a dragon? Hmm, don't know. He told me I'm nothing like what he thought and he figured I was way more into clubbing than I am, except for the occassional ego-trip to Cowgirls Inc or Belltown Billiards. Both Ky and Susan had called and it was time for me to go so I finally pushed him off and put my shirt back on and touched up my makeup. My hair, unfortunately, was unsalvageable. I should have just put it up but I was running late and trying to get out of the house. We walked down, kissed a bit more and I called Susan as I was getting into the car. I ran all the way to the club and found Susan upstairs who immediately pointed out Tye with a tutu and she confirmed she'd already seen Dick. I checked my sweater then we hit the dance floor. We got hugs from Tye who informed us that tomorrow was 2-2-2 and I guess he was paying homage. We danced for quite a while then some hand came out of nowhere and took a picture of us and I was like "WHAT THE HELL, some guy just took a picture of us!" but we quickly learned that it was Richie who was cracking up. Cory was there too so I gave her a big hug and we started talking. Then I got a Richie hug and started telling him about Erik and how he'd asked about him and that he's a really good kisser and Richie was like "No! Stop!" like didn't want to hear it or something. I think he's jealous. Laugh. Then Craig showed up and I gave him an enthusiastic hug and he started dancing in our circle. I put my foot next to mine because he was wearing white asics too though he was quick to note that they're not really the same because mine are the Mexico 66 and his were something else...German something...apparently he'd had some guy at the record label pick them up for him. He seemed in really high spirits which I think is fantastic. Richie and Cory left for a cigarette or something and Susan spots Andrew so we're laughign and Craig wants to know why so I told him one of Susan's exes was there and we make fun of how he dances so I point him out to Craig and he's like "Oh, Andrew!" which had me in stitches. Susan made a face. Richie and Cory come back and there's lots of dancing but then a drag show starts so we hastily retreat from the dance floor and stood around by the pillar and gossiped and talked with Craig for a minute before he performed his usual disappearing act. I wanted some water so Susan mapped out a route to the back bar and we walked right by Max and I gave him a hug then he says "It's your favorite part of the night" in his thick accent and I was like "Uggh, I know!" and rolled my eyes. Dick had been leering ALL night and when we walked by I accidentally smiled at him because I was still laughing about Max and foolishly made eye contact at the same time. Andy Warhol was in the back bar watching the crowd and up to my favorite bar tender I went. He had the water going and everything by the time I even got up there and said I looked fab or something but I told him I was having a bad hair day and he said I wasn't and that it had that "I just rolled out of bed" look and I was thinking "shit, how did he know?" because he had this mischievous smile on his face so did Erik tell George and George relay to everyone that we'd been making out only an hour prior? I was like "...Who have you been talking to?" and he said something about just knowing these things. So I smiled skeptically and thanked him then we walked back only to see Cory up with the drag queen having happy birthday sung to her but she looked rather out of it. On the way to the bathroom SP bf was like “Hi ladies!” so I was like (super enthusiastically) “Hi!!” and he said Samuel should be coming but Michael wouldn’t because he thought he had a booty call. We did a hair check in the bathroom then found R and C over by the bar and stood talking to them for a little bit then headed out to the floor when Mickey or something fun came on. We danced and Richie and Cory came out then Craig joined us again so that was fun then R and C left and Craig would come and go and that single white she-male was lurking around and all three of us looked at each other and “eesh” -d then Craig said something not so flattering to Susan but quickly clarified that it wasn’t flattering for the she-male. Susan and I were ready to go but then she spotted Teal and Jeff and we let them come to us and got hugs and danced to a few songs with them. I told Jeff we’d spotted him from Broadway Grill the prior weekend and he was all embarrassed but I said if anything we should have been embarrassed and that he should check across the street for us next time to see if he could see us spying. He’s so cute and that lip ring totally intrigues me; if only he were a little taller. Even two inches would make a difference. A not so good song came on so we decided to go and passed Samuel on the way out and said hi then I went to get my coat and said hi to Max who had been taking pictures all night with this crazy camera with telescopic lens. We walked quickly to our cars and took off. When I got home I logged onto myspace and Ian was on and a few minutes later when I was getting ready for bed I got a text and suspected it might be him and sure enough it was him…asking if I was really online and that he’d just woken up and was still sick. I wrote him back but didn’t hear back and went to bed. It was about 2.

Wednesday 2/20, I got home and didn't work out but instead did some cleaning then Ky texted asking if I wanted to get Mexican but I had meatballs that Peggy'd made (lamb, pork, veal and beef combination) but that I'd text him about getting dessert. So I ate dinner and was cleaning the kitchen when Erik called to confirm plans for the next day (8:30 after he got off work and pre-Neighbs) and I kind of sighed to myself then texted Ky who came over and enthusiastically started telling me about his new job. It sounds so fun and I'm a bit jealous. He said there are two hot skater types who work in the office across the hall (one brunette Eric look-a-like) and that he'd hook me up. Yesssssss! We decided to get ice cream from the store so we walked out with three containers: chocolate covered pretzel, Heath and mint chocolate chip. Back at my house I put on ANTM and we dished up heaping bowls of ice cream. We watched most of ANTM in horror because they really seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel on this cycle and Ky kept saying "Do you see my face right now?! Do you see how appaled I look?!" so that was fun. We gossiped on the commercial breaks and played with Jacques. After it was over I had more ice cream and felt only semi-guilty for it. Ky suggested putting in Arrested Development so we watched the pilot and he liked it so I sent him home with Seasons 1 and 2. I paid bills, packaged up a letter to Ian with some pictures and an article reinforcing why I don't want children that I'd told him about the night before or whenever I'd talked to him on the phone. Went to bed at like 11:30.
