Tuesday 2/19, Booked my ticket to London in September then talked to Ky and who made fun of having seen my nipple with the rest of the crew just like Ian had on the webcam. Meghan called and cancelled my facial because of a family emergency and I was actually kind of relieved because I didn’t want to drive into Ballard at 5 pm. I stopped at the store on the way home and the cute checker caught me tearing through the Valentine sale items then came over from his stand to show me how the valentine lobster worked and my face was so red because I was still embarrassed from him catching me with like 3 bags of candy in my hand. I only ended up with one. So I followed him back to his register and kind of flirted with him and he asked how my day was and I asked him what he was studying in school (sustainable agriculture and literature) then told him to enjoy the rest of his day. When I got home I made myself work out and did the 40 minute one and actually really pushed myself and by the end I had sweat dripping down my face, chest, arms and all in my hair. It was punishment for having eaten so much over the weekend and for having not worked out in like 5 days. I felt nasty but fantastic and started making some rice then Dad called so we talked for a while then I ate my leftovers with tons of rice. Mmm. Rice. Erik texted me right before I hopped in the shower (“How are you beautiful?”) so we texted back and forth a couple times. I watched Biggest Loser and ate two heart peanut butter cups. Talked to Susan then to Ian who returned my call from earlier because I wanted to know who sang some of the songs he put on a compilation he gave me a million years ago. So he called back and we talked for almost an hour and it was really nice. I told him how I feel about Sasha and how she’s the one that ended up with the better end of the deal and that that makes me jealous. I would have a harder time with him dating her than anyone, but he insisted again that he’s not and that geography doesn’t play a part. I know I need to shut up about it already and I think I will now. Got it all out of my system. Maybe. We also talked about Hawaii and our respective trips and dating people and “There Will Be Blood” and the Paul / Ely debate then something interesting at the end. He mentioned he didn’t want to get into the subject of me dating because he was about to go to bed and he didn’t want to have a long talk before that and just didn’t want to go into it. I was like “…um…why not?” thinking, oh shit, what the hell is he going to say about this? And do I say something? I decided not to because he didn’t want to talk about it period so bringing up the fact that I’ve gone out with Erik a couple times probably wouldn’t do much for him in the “going-to-sleep-easily” department. I guess I’ll bring it up after he gets back from Hawaii and, depending on if he hooks up with Sasha or not, spring it on him then and decide how gently to break the news. Or at least broach it and find out what his bottom line is. I updated this, listened to Fleet Foxes and went to bed.
Monday 2/18, I woke up at 9 and felt good having gotten 10 solid hours of sleep. I fed the cat, ate some breakfast, read a little of a back issue of Conde Nast and fell back asleep for about 45 minutes. I eventually peeled myself out and started on chores and ran around the house naked. Susan called and filled me in on her interesting morning and I told her about my plans for the day. I got ready and set out to the Bellevue park where I walked 3 miles waiting for Alix to be done with her physical therapy session. We walked over to Main and went to Gilbert’s and both had the sandwich special (turkey and swiss melt) and the most gigantic “cup” of French onion soup ever. We both put it all down then moved on to the vanilla blueberry cake which was really good too. We went over to the mall because I had a bunch of Macy’s cards to get rid of so I bought a bra but when I used the card she handed it back with more money on it than I thought was originally on it so then I was totally baffled and irritated that I had more to get rid of. So I bought some gloves but still had all three cards, ugggg. We walked around more, went to Jamba Juice cause Alix has like a $60 gift card there she’s trying to use up then over to Macy’s home where I picked up four picture frames and got rid of all but one of the cards. We walked back to the cars and took off. I went home and watched tv and updated this then was wanting something salty so I made popcorn and felt very guilty afterward. I watched tv for the rest of the evening and went to bed after 11.
Sunday 2/17, I woke up at 8 and got gas and flaked on working out and felt very guilty for it. What is happening to me? I need to get back on it and stop making excuses. Susan didn’t think breakfast was going to work so I planned to just do some chores and take it easy around the house. I did a little organizing and lounged in my bed and eventually texted Zeph to see if he was still down for lunch. I talked to him at noon and he wanted two hours so I called K back and was telling her where the place was then noticed they’re not open on Sunday so I called him back and he suggested the Fremont market. I called Chrystol to see what they were doing and to ask if I could come over and say hi before meeting up with Z in Fremont. She said Eric had just arrived and they were sitting around and to come over. I got ready and headed out and wore my shades all the way in. It was beautiful! I talked to Kassie about Zeph and K and Erik and how some guy used to call her “princess” and she detested it. She thinks there needs to be a conversation. So I got there and Eric was trying out this back stretcher thing on the floor and we were cracking up, especially when Schuyler said there was a five year warranty on it. Then we started talking about International Male and Chrystol ran out to the recycle bin to grab the Under Gear or whatever and we all sat around it and paged through and picked out our favorites and pointed out where you could really see the outline of the penis. Eric described, in detail, how a jock strap works but offered no answer as to why there’s no ass on them. We then talked about K and R breaking up and my argument in the car with him over the whole vibrator / porn thing. Eric demonstrated paging through porn like it was a National Geographic. I was only there for about a half hour before needing to leave, called Zeph, parked and found him enjoying tea in the sun in front of PCC. We started walking the market and inquired about hot dogs but needed to wait 5 minutes so we perused the stands and made our way back where we saw Kay-See. We all grabbed a dog and did the walk again then he offered to show us some fire pit so we walked along the canal in the sun and avoided getting run over by bicyclists. One guy rode by and was like “I was going to pass a while ago but I’ve been enjoying the view too much!” and Zeph was like “Thanks!” and the guy turns back around, on his bike, exclaims “Man, I wasn’t talking about you!” and we all erupted in laughter. So did some other people walking beside us. K and I wanted sweets of some sort so Z took us to a little café where we got baked goods then over to the record shop to peruse then back over to the market to check out the stuff in the garage. K needed to go so we did goodbyes and Z and I looked at belt buckles for a few minutes then decided to take off as well. I gave him a hug and told him to let me know when he was back in town and walked back to my car. I responded to Erik’s text he’d sent earlier that day (“Girl…still thinking about those kisses) then called Susan and left a message. Alix called so I was talking to her trying to make plans for the next day when Zeph beeped in to scold me for talking and driving a manual at the same time and that he didn’t know what kind of car I drove and was impressed. Then Susan called back but it went straight to my voicemail but I eventually got through and told her I’d meet her and Damon at Liberty. I called Alix back and made plans for Monday, found Liberty fine and parked right outside a building I love. Very 80s / 90s. I met them inside and ordered a hot chocolate and we started discussing Erik who texted me a few more times while we sat there. We had a good time (I explained the name mix up thing) and Damon is fun and laughed when the guy bent over and we could see his hairy butt crack. Then asked if anyone had a penny. He’s quite but very funny and I was attempting to decipher some interesting body language. I was there for maybe 45 minutes then took off to go to Mom’s where we all talked and ate an early dinner and talked some more. I left before 7 and watched AFV and was so tired. I had contemplated calling Chrystol to see what they were up to since I assumed they didn’t have to work the next day but was sooo tired and thought it might be over the top to call again so I laid in bed for the rest of the night watching tv and catching up with Susan about her weekend. Went to bed by 11.
Saturday 2/16, Woke up at 8 but stayed in bed til 9 because I was tired. I bought some cds and movies on amazon then Sos called to see if I wanted to go to Barnes and Noble for a book, and I did so I got ready and she came over to pick me up. We tried on some of Peggy’s giveaways and cracked up…though Sos fit into the red leather miniskirt which thoroughly impressed me. We took off, B&N didn’t have her book or the new W so we walked over to the Shoe Pavilion or whatever where I got a couple new pairs of heels, though Sos didn’t like the boots. There was a woman who kept asking her opinion about different pumps and it totally cracked me up. She would walk by looking longingly at Sos hoping she would give her opinion. We went to PCC and got some lunch and talked about her sister and Brad and Kyla and Ian so that was interesting. She dropped me off at home and I organized some of my house clippings and watched SatC. I confirmed plans with Kay-See and made reservations then Erik texted asking what I was doing and if I wanted to hang out. When he got off work I suggested he come over to my house since we would only have about an hour and a half to hang then I started busting ass cleaning up and getting ready (um, ps, my nice Citizens no longer fit and not even a belt helped, booo!). He found it fine and we ended up just sitting in the living room talking until it got dark. I had about 15 minutes before I had to leave so I suggested we just make out and he was down so we did. And again, it was very very good. We ended up in a kind of horizontal position on my couch and he had his arms wrapped around my core and I realized that he’s the most muscle-y guy I’ve ever dated / made out with. He’s got a tight body with some Michael-style pecs. Pretty hot. About 20 minutes later I told him I really had to go but we ended up making out for another 5 then I kneeled on the couch fixing my hair and he lifted my shirt up just a little and said I have a really nice stomach which was an ego boost and I told him he wasn’t so bad either, and he’s all “I’m not in very good shape, I need to get back into it” and I was like “Oh shut up!” because he’s insanely toned. I hurried and put my shoes on and grabbed one of Kassie’s coats, walked him down where we kissed a few more times then hit the road. I had to pee so bad when I got to K’s so I parked in the no parking zone, called her to buzz me in and used the bathroom in the lobby then ran back out to my car to make sure I wasn’t towed and waited for her to come down. She wasn’t feeling good but we were determined to have a good time anyway, which I proved by ogling some boys crossing the street. I looked that cute snowboarder right in the eye and loudly exclaimed “Hell-O!” to which he just smiled and kept walking. We headed down to Marazul. We had fun talking and pretend-hitting on the waiter, who was incidentally a redhead. I ordered the Jamaican curry chicken per his recommendation and K the skirt steak and we shared the jerk pork pot stickers which were really good. So dinner was fun and the place was interesting. K had to use the bathroom so we wandered through the Pan Pacific trying to find the bathroom and noticed the plethora of hot men working the lobby and valet. We took the elevator down to Whole Foods and drooled over all the desserts and finally decided on two lemon tartlets for ourselves and an oatmeal raisin cookie for Zeph. We headed over to Ballard and found parking a few blocks away and trekked down with our heels clacking away. We went in and were greeted with hugs from Zeph and pulled up the stools right in front his little computer so we could chat with him when permitted. He told Kay-See she was going to be sampling a whole bunch of wines and would pour her half glass after half glass of all sorts of Italian reds. He gave us the rundown on each one and I think the first and last were her favorites. K and I discussed Erik and my dilemma and gave her an example and had her cracking up. Zeph talked to us quite a bit and we got into a discussion about children then K and I got into a discussion about how hot his ass and back are. I preferred the latter conversation immensely. I conjectured that his back is probably wonderfully hairless as well and K responded by hitting me and telling me to not say things that get her all riled up. Heh. He grabbed both our sides as he walked by at one point and we both jumped and squealed and made this woman down the bar laugh. We were there until midnight or so then told Z we were going to go so he gave us big hugs and that the wine was on him and that he would call me the next day for Caribbean fare. K left a note for Z based on our bartender / patron / phone number-leaving conversation but not her number. As we were driving back Z called and wanted to talk to K and asked why she hadn’t left her number so that was hilarious. I dropped K off and drove home and crashed out watching SNL.
