Sunday 4/20, I got up at 8:20 and got a text from Kay-See 10 minutes later saying they were leaving. There was snow on the ground when I pulled the blinds and I groaned knowing it was going to be a long cold morning. K and Chris picked me up and we headed up to Little Si gabbing all the way. Chris put on this huge pack and led the way with K next and lastly me. I was huffing and puffing and they were barely breaking a sweat. Yeah, I felt super out of shape. We made it all the way up discussing upcoming vacations and discussing friends’ relationships and what to do when you don’t like the bf or gf of a good friend. I think we set a record and disregarded the “trail under construction” sign that warned us to proceed at our own risk and it turned out to not be bad at all and just at one spot. At the top finally Chris had broken a bit of a sweat but K was still perfectly sweat-free and didn’t even have any color in her cheeks. We marveled at the beautiful view and it’s the first time I’ve seen it with snow on the ground. It snowed most of the way down and we made great time and passed quite a few cute hikers, one in particular with a lip ring. I asked them how to prepare the steak Peggy had given me and I got a few suggestions. They dropped me off and I immediately hopped in the shower to warm up then downstairs to start my steak. I called Mom to find out temperatures and she told me to do it under the broiler and how to construct a makeshift broiler pan. Everything was going fine (minus a bit of smoke I had to fan away from the smoke detector to keep it from going off) until 10 seconds before I had to pull it out. The damn steak drippings caught on fire on the pan so I pulled it out and had this flaming fiasco on my hands. Luckily the air capacity in my lungs is huge because I blew that fire out after a couple good blasts. Despite the fire the steak was delicious and only a little more done than I typically like. After an episode of SatC I sent Eric a text saying I was bummed I hadn’t gotten to see him but that we still had Tuesday and asking how the track was. About 20 minutes later, and 15 minutes into Gone Baby Gone, my phone rang and it was him. He didn’t really give me an explanation about the day before but I didn’t really ask for one either. He asked what I’d done the day before and that morning and told me a little of what they’d done. He said he’d call me the next day and I went back to watching GBG. It’s a very good movie but depressing and reinforces why so many people shouldn’t have children. I called Mom and Dad when it was over and Dad said they were leaving in 15 minutes and I was like “Fuuuck! Are you kidding me?!” and asked what time this thing started. 4:30. Yeah. I was in my pajamas with no make up. I quickly dressed, grabbed my makeup and headed out the door. I was pissy by the time I arrived because I hate feeling rushed and really didn’t want to go to Passover and didn’t want to stop at the store and stand in line forever for dumb seltzer water. Ugghhh. I got over it fairly quickly and finally Dad, Alix and I were on our way. Both Mom and Jake were sick so stayed home. When we arrived we said our hellos and Jerry, Pam and Amelia were visiting from Boston so that was nice. Alix and I retreated to the living room to get away from everyone until it was time to start. Passover itself went relatively quickly because the little kids were restless and David and Erika kept things moving. Alix had to read in Hebrew and I laughed. David pushed the pressure point in my neck and just about crippled me. After dinner I asked him when Josh Charles was coming back into town and he called me a slut and called me out on my Erics; apparently Dad had filled him in. Dinner was pretty good, especially the matzo ball soup and meringue. We finally left around 8:30 and Dad drives so slow I ended up being 10 minutes late for Desperate Housewives. I blogged a bit and went to bed somewhat early.

Saturday 4/19, I got an early morning text from Eric apologizing for not calling me back and that he would call me at noon. I got out of bed at 9 and headed over to Peggy’s in my workout clothes and picked up the steak and said hi to her. I told her I was going to walk the trail and set out for 20 minutes then hustled back because it was raining and I was freezing. Back at home I jumped in the shower to warm up and washed my hair then reheated the last of the chili and watched some SatC. Eric called and I told him my stance on hanging out and he told me not to worry about it but I was so I called Chrystol. She didn’t answer so I left a message because I didn’t want to just show up at their house like “Oh, Eric invited me!” then he called me back on his drive up and I told him I still hadn’t heard back from her but he was confident we’d see each other later that day. I wasn’t so sure. He also asked if I was still up for dinner on Tuesday, yes, then asked me if I wanted to go to a friend’s birthday party next Friday and I said yes but it makes me super nervous and a little uneasy. I ended up watching a ton of SatC and taking a nap listening to Beck’s Sea Change. By 6 I still hadn’t heard from her or him so I ate a little dinner and called Kay-See at 7 and she told me to come over so I popped some licorice into my purse and headed in. Parking was a bitch but I made it and she was relaxing on her couch when I arrived so I took my place on the floor and we talked about her jerk book and Eric and other stuff before finally putting on Closer and drooling over Clive Owen and Jude Law. I was so tired I almost fell asleep a few times but made it through to the end. As we were wrapping up my phone rang and it was Ian and before answering I told K I bet he was calling from his FF show and music would be playing and sure enough, it was. It was the same song I had played for him and the exact same part. God I’m not over him. I sang along quietly with the song until he hung up and K made a sad face, I said I know, and we changed topic. We said our goodbyes and I ran to my car and climbed into bed and watched SNL until about 12:30.

Friday 4/18, I got off work a bit early but had forgotten the steak Peggy gave me so I told her I would swing by the next morning. At home I did a couple things then relaxed. I talked to Susan about our plans and we decided I would meet at her place at 8 for the F. Foxes show. I changed and called Eric right before heading out and left a message. I took off listening to Velvet Goldmine and rocked out all the way into Seattle. We hung at her place for a while talking and watching Bear and eventually took off and parked by the park and walked over. We grabbed a nice spot against the wall and within view of the stage. The first band, Quiet Ones, was good but I was more excited for F. Foxes. We watched for boys we wanted to play “Just the Tip” with and overall there were quite a few cute guys. The show started and it steadily filled up and some annoying girls were next to us and I kept shooting them dirty looks but they were so drunk and oblivious they didn’t even notice. During one song I called Ian and left a song on his voicemail because he used to do that all the time when we were dating and I always thought it was so cute and since FF endlessly reminds me of him. They played a great set but Susan got woozy and passed out so the security guys led her out and the girl in front of me told me what was happening and I took off and followed them out. We sat outside for a while so she could get her bearings and they started Mykonos as we walked away. We made it back to the car laughing most the way and I helped her up to her building then drove home. I was tired and went to bed.

Thursday 4/17, Susan decided she didn’t want to go dancing and I was totally fine with that and as soon as she suggested it I felt my entire body embrace the fact that I could relax for the rest of the night. That didn’t last long because Mom called and said she was making her delicious chili and wanted to know if I was interested in going over. I was, plus she had found my list so I waited about 15 minutes then took off with my eggs and cornbread. I helped Mom make a bunch of chocolate chip cookies then we dug into dinner. I put my chili over a big piece of cornbread and it added just a little hint of sweetness – delicious! I stuck around talking to Mom and Dad for a long time and finally took off for home. I watched the NBC lineup and some news until I felt like calling Ian based on a dumb comment from that Ashley girl. Grr. Well, I had wanted to call him earlier, that just sparked the ole curiosity. So I called and we chatted for a bit and he told me how his dr appt went and a couple other stories and I told him about K and R. I made a comment about Ashley and going to the FF show and he labeled it awkward and changed the subject then said he was embarrassed. He asked me about Eric and when I told him he’d taken me to a Mariners’ game he goes “Jealous!” in his high pitched voice. He apparently doesn’t care that I’m interested in someone else, which totally doesn’t go the other way. He said he would send me what he was working on and we hung up. It was nice to talk to him but as soon as I hung up I remembered like 3 things I wanted to tell him. Oh well. I was awoken at 12:15 by a text and when I looked at it was from Trevor and read: “Hi :) You wanna get naked?” and I was so confused and tired I laid back down and attempted sleep. Not a minute later I got another one, this time from Billy: “Hey wanna get dressed?” uggg. What the hell?! Let me sleep! Some of us have to work in the morning guys! I silenced my phone anticipating more texts and possibly phone calls throughout the night because clearly they were in cahoots and hell bent on thoroughly confusing me. Sure as shit when I woke up in the morning I had a missed call from Billy at 12:45 am.
