Monday 4/13, Castor chased some crows in the driveway and took off. It made me laugh. Called Sos on the way home and they would be over soon to finish their taxes. When I got home Eric was already busy making dinner so that was really nice. I tried to clean up a little after he'd shown me all the candy on the table. Sos and Jake arrived and Jake finished the taxes while Sos and I talked and looked at Hunks. Dinner was ready so we started eating and they finished up and took off to go have their pizza. We ate (salad, steak, roasted red potatoes, huge grilled asparagus) and talked. We decided to take Castor to the park since it was only 7 and he didn't get an after work walk. We got in the car and it started raining harder but we knew Castor wouldn't care. There were a couple other little dogs at the dog park and Castor sniffed then went off on his own. We stayed there for about a half hour and ran around with him after the last dog left and then he spotted some crows and did the same thing he did earlier in the day. We went home and got ready for DwtS and each had our dessert (Eric: watermelon, Me: banana split). I brushed Castor for a long time and he almost fell asleep twice. I took him out and we went upstairs and I took a shower and by the time I got out Eric was asleep so I put on the news and looked through my Martha Stewart Weddings until I fell asleep.

Sunday 4/12, Happy Anniversary! One year since our first date. We got up and ready to do a little mini hike / walk with Castor. We stopped for coffee and Eric got me a cranberry orange scone. We went up to the trails we did with Jake and Sos a few months back. It was raining but not pouring so we still went. Castor loved it and we let him off leash as we explored the different connecting trails. We were all soaking, but mostly Castor, by the end. We went home and I gave him a bath because he was already wet and he might as well be wet and clean. Eric helped me dry him and get him fed. We got ready to go to Kay-See's parents' for brunch and stopped at the store on the way and Eric picked out a bunch of beautiful flowers and asked the florist to arrange them. Dad and Mom called in the middle of it so I was trying to talk to them at the same time about their Easter. We got on our way and over to Kirkland. The C-Clan was busy baking and cooking when we arrived and made sure we had orange juice and cheese as we waited. Michelle and Tony showed up and I didn't know they were coming otherwise I would have warned Eric about Tony, but he came to his own conclusion about that one. We sat in the living room and talked and ate more bread and cheese and the Spanish cheese was my favorite. We sat down for brunch and enjoyed the quiche, salad, bread and strawberries K's Mom prepared. We ate and ate then we played "Bad Ass" which is really "Smart Ass" and I got a couple. Then Apples to Apples and Eric and Michelle tied for the win. We had some dessert and kept talking then it was time for us to roll out because Castor needed to go out. We thanked them for everything and when we got in the car Eric stated that he thought Tony was a dick to Michelle. He went into more detail then we talked of other things on the way home. I talked to Sos and she wished us a happy anniversary. At home Castor was very excited to be out of the room and I took him out then we hung out and relaxed. I read upstairs for a while and Eric watched some tv then came up and joined me and we talked for a long time. He'd never seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding and I insisted we watch it because he's such a nationalist and was talking about how Greeks use Windex for everything and I was all "You have no idea!" so we watched it. He thought it was cute and afterward we snacked and watched EHM. I showered before climbing into bed and we talked about our first date then got down celebrating the occasion. Went to bed after 11.

Saturday 4/11, I got up at 8 and ready for a walk with Castor and went up the hill and jogged a mile and a half with him. He was pretty tuckered out and lagging behind me at the end. I went home and showered and fed him then put him in the back room for the day with one of his birthday treats (carrot and parsley bone). I took off for Jessica's Mom's and it was about 10 (when I told her I would be there). I talked to Susan for most of the way up about how her evening had transpired and her surprise guest. I got up there right before 11 and Jess had just gotten out of the shower and Day was all ready to make breakfast (blueberry pancakes, eggs, bacon). She's having treatment done to her face and it looked incredibly painful. We ate breakfast and Jack came in and asked about life and then read us the Dear Abby column and each of our horoscopes. Day and Jack took off shortly after and we started talking and catching up and about our respective boys and sex and trips then we got into the pictures from our Europe trip almost 10 years ago. We laughed hysterically especially how we stayed with the guys in Venice and took over Tom's apartment when he probably never thought she would take him up on his offer. We're going to try to find Dwayne on facebook and apologize but Jess has to find her book first. Mom called and took Castor out and Eric called that he was going to be later than he thought and was stuck at work. We talked for hours then made quesadillas and popcorn and eventually Day and Jack returned. We kept talking and looked at her pictures on her new camera. Around 7 I took off and we made plans for later in the week. When I got home Eric was on the couch and had taken Castor to the park and ran him around and fed him. I gave him his new birthday present, squeaky squirrel, and he loved it. I then gave him the deer antler and he liked that but it made him kind of crazy so I took it away. We watched Cops and snacked and eventually went upstairs after I did some laundry. We were way too tired to make it to SNL and were asleep by 10.

Friday 4/10, I stopped at the library and saw Sue and chatted with her for a minute then home and made Castor his dinner then put him upstairs and took off for the Rack to meet Susan. She found me quickly and helped me pick out slippers for Eric that weren't too girly. We looked around a lot and she filled me in on her MW dilemma. I got a shirt and two shorts for him and we checked out. We went over to OE She for dinner and continued our discussion. It was fun, then we went back to my house and hung out until Kay-See arrived. We watched Wife Swap and I kept shaking my head at it and couldn't stand those Utah people. Ish. After it was over K showed up and was tired from her yoga. We chatted some more but everyone was tired so they left by 10 and I went up to bed.

Thursday 4/9, BB&B after work then up to the park for a walk around while talking to Sos and telling her about our trip. Started to rain so we went home where I made Castor's dinner and talked to Susan for a while about the weekend and Friday night plans. I called Eric when I hung up and steamed asparagus and mixed with rice. We talked about the weekend and that I wouldn't see him until Saturday night because I'm going to Jess' and he works. I watched Parks and Rec and it was ok then Southland which was pretty good and has me intrigued. Up too late.

Wednesday 4/8, I had a dream about Billy Corgan and I was totally enamored with him and it makes me look at him in a different light in the real world. Maybe it was those pictures of him and Tila Tequila I saw online that sparked it. Went to the park again with Castor after work and we walked around again for a long time. Talked to Mom and Alix while walking him and by the time I was ready to go home hung up. Talked to Sue for a long time about her car, windows, dogs and remodleing before going inside. Made rice and broccoli again and Eric called as I was prepping. Castor had some more broccoli again and wanted more. I had an apple and he shared that with me too. Watched some tv and eventually went upstairs where I half watched ANTM and cleaned my shower which took forever, ughh, so gross. I don't know why I wait so long but I know I need to knock it off. Jess texted me that she was in town so I'm going to see her this weekend. Talked to Eric again after 9 then looked through my Martha Stewart Weddings until going to sleep around 10:30.

Tuesday 4/7, I didn't hear from Eric all night so I figured he was at meetings or something but then he called late and said he'd cut his finger while washing a knife and had to go to the ER and was there for over 2 hours. 3 stitches. Ouch. After work I took Castor up to the park and we walked around for a long time and I took him off his leash for most of the hillside part of the walk and he did just fine. It made me happy that he didn't try to run off and comes when he's called. We went home and I made rice and steamed broccoli for dinner and shared my broccoli with Castor who loves it. He couldn't get enough. I watched my shows while doing a little cleaning but mostly felt exhausted and wanted to lie in bed. Fell asleep before the end of BL. Took Castor out and went to bed around 10:30.

Monday 4/6, Wished Ian a happy birthday on facebook, he's off to New Zealand in a few days. Castor and I went home after work and waited for Eric. He changed when he arrived and we went on a nice walk at the park up the hill. The weather was gorgeous. We went back and I had to go to the homeowner's meeting to show my window stuff and everyone seemed receptive. I left when I was done and called Doug and his father in law had passed away so I felt bad for him, but I told him the news and would be in touch. When I got up to the house Eric was in the middle of making chicken burgers with homemade potato chips. I called Dad back and chatted with him about our trip and the pictures and Eric making dinner for me. We hung up and dinner was ready. I ate a lot of food and it was really good. We watched some shows but I had to go to the store so we went up quickly and at the checkout the German lady told Eric he could cut his watermelon in half and eat out of it like a bowl and when he was done put it on his dining room table and put some fruit in it and it would look really sexy. We were dying all the way home. We both had our fruit when we got home. Went upstairs to watch the rest of DwtS then started messing about so that was nice. Showered off and went to bed a little after 11.

Sunday 4/5, We were up at 5:30, dressed, threw everything remaining in the car and headed down to Kassie's so I could grab my coat and use the bathroom. All the dogs were barking of course so I tried to shush them to mixed results. I apologized to Kass and grabbed my stuff and bid them farewell and we were on the road. We stopped in Arcata but Brio wasn't open yet so up to Wild Blackberries or whatever the store is called for a little breakfast. Kept going, up to Crescent City to let Castor out and for gas and air for tires. Eric took over driving and it was a little rough in a few spots but overall he did fine. We hit a rest stop for Castor and I tried to feed him again without success. Kass called while we were going through Roseburg and she told us we were half way. She missed me and was hoping we'd decided we wanted to move down. I fell asleep a few times and when we got north of PDX (after sitting in traffic) we stopped to get some sandwiches and more gas. I drove from there and we hit traffic north of Oly then touch and go up to Eric's. I let Castor run around for a few minutes and I used the bathroom then said bye to Eric and took off for home. There was more traffic up to Bellevue and all I wanted was to be home. Ugh. Took 13 hours with the stops and traffic. Castor and I settled into a nice relaxing evening. I showered and put on comfy clothes and climbed into bed to relax and watch tv / surf the net. Felt good to be home. Found Castor's paper work to see when his birthday is. I don't think the people actually know but his rabies vaccination certificate says April 11 so that's his birthday! Better get on it. Went to bed by 10:30.

Saturday 4/4, Eric was up and out by 8:30 to meet Sky for the fire meeting. I got up at 9 and when I went down they were still there, so I went up and sat with Kass in bed and we had girl talk until the boys left. I had a little cereal for breakfast. We had errands we wanted to run so I went up to get ready then back down and we took my car into town with Castor in the backseat. I gassed up so we could leave right away in the morning. We went up to Chataqua for a few items for Ben's birthday then to the bakery for a treat and tied Castor up outside and he started barking so I was trying to hurry getting my cookie. We hit the atm then Kass went into the "Fun!" store and picked out stuff for Ben's cupcakes and while I was standing outside with Castor some guy in a truck honked while driving by. Then this guy missing two major front teeth standing by his bike 20 feet away was like "That's his way of telling you he thinks you're gorgeous" and I was like "Yeah, I suppose" then he's like "Or maybe he thinks your dog is gorgeous" so that made me laugh. He kept inching closer and closer to where Castor and I were standing and his friend was tagging along and they were talking to me and I was dying it was so funny. At one point the other guy was mumbling how Madonna's daughter is getting hot and how Madonna is jealous of her because of it. Then the first guy starts talking about how Britney wanted to make out with a girl and that her bf was mad but he should just leave her alone because it's an experience and if she wants to experience it it's her choice. Just like if a woman wants to wear makeup you can't tell her she can't. Then he said it didn't look like I was wearing much but he couldn't tell because I was wearing my shades and I stated "It's mysterious, isn't it?" and he agreed. He also really likes Stevie Nicks and I said I liked her too. He started telling me about his bike ride down to San Fran and how he's been riding for days but his bike chain broke and he's hoping to get his old job back. Kass came out at that point and was hustling me out of there and he said his given name is Angel, so I wished him good luck with his bike and job and off we went. A few minutes earlier a guy had pulled up in his truck across the street and was kind of watching the scene and when we were crossing the street toward him Kassie waved hi and apparently it was Darby. I've heard stories about Darby so it was good to put a name with a face. We headed home where Kass started cupcakes (Orange Velvet (no organic red food coloring)) and I hung out on the deck with the dogs. Eric came back and we enjoyed relaxing on the couch and outside. The party was supposed to start at 2 but we headed down to the a-frame around 4 with all the dogs following behind the car. Alyssa and Chels were there setting up so we helped get things set up too. Eric and I did the deck. There was lots of running around and people started showing up. There were maybe 15 of us and everyone just talked and ate the huge meal Alyssa made. Laurel and Tanner came and Kassie was right; he is hot. I didn't even want to talk to him. I made sure I didn't have anything in my teeth before Kass introduced me. We had to make a trip up to the house to take the dogs back and Eric took me to feed Castor on the rhino. Everyone huddled around the fire and started a small dance party. It was getting late and we needed to pack so we said bye to everyone and took the generator up on the rhino again with Castor in the back. We had to get gas and Eric got it all set up so we had heat cranking when we got in. We ran down to the house again so we could get our stuff and turn on the generator for Kass and Sky. Ida had licked Castor's vegetarian food can clean. She loves her fruits and vegetables! Back up and then back down again just as K & S were coming home. We sat and chatted for a while about the party and Sky was so out of it. We said good night and good bye and went up and got ready for bed. We had our bed time with Castor again and he lay with us for a long time before going down to sleep on his bed.

Friday 4/3, Kass made us smoothies in the morning for breakfast and they were very good. We were going on a hike and had a bit of running around getting ready and finally headed out toward Shelter Cove. We stopped to pick up lunch at Cafe Dolce and they make the best sandwiches. Huge, delicious sandwiches. We dropped the boys at the trailhead then dropped my car at the end point and drove back where Castor and the puppies were having better interactions due to neutral territory and Castor being top dog when it comes to hiking. It was the first hike for the pups and Castor was definitely going to show them how it was done. Castor led the way the whole time and would regularly turn around and check in with me to see where I was. It was adorable. We saw horse shit and bear shit which scared me, but Eric had all these statistics which made me feel better. When we got to the top we came out to this beautiful amazing vista of the turquoise ocean and trees and valley. It was beautiful. We spotted a hummingbird too. Took some pictures and started our descent. We were cruising, except the puppies who kept wanting to take breaks and I think didn't really see the point to all of it. We found a beautiful meadow to eat our lunch, except Sky warned us to watch for scorpions and Kass reminded us to be on the lookout for ticks. We had lunch then took a bunch of pictures and kept on our way and were at the car about 10 minutes later. Kass, Castor and I drove to Kassie's car then back to pick up the boys and home. It was a really beautiful day so we all sat out on the deck and hung with the pups who were getting along fine. Sky went to go check on something on the rhino and all of a sudden we heard a crazy bang and crash and the dogs took off then and we all went running and Sky had rolled it and Kass was freaking out but he was fine. We went back to relaxing on the deck and I read a magazine. Sky came back and then there was a weird Lou and Etta thing and all the dogs went nuts so that weirded everyone out but we went back to relaxing until it was time for Kass to make her brownie cookie things for girls night. Kass whipped up some spaghetti with turkey and lots of veggies. Gina came over with Yoshi and we had some food and soon hit the road to Alyssa's. Eric was enjoying boys night with some of Sky's friends. On the way we picked up Laurel. Chels was there so I gave her a long hug and started chatting with the girls. There was a lot of girl talk and eating and Jacques came up to me a few times so I think he remembered me. We left late and arrived back as boys night winding down. Eric seemed fine and was getting along with the boys. We went up to bed not long after and despite stopping on our way in to turn on the heater it was freezing because the generator hadn't been on. Fuuuck. Castor huddled with me on bed and we eventually got warm. Eric and I had our evening chat about the day's events and fell asleep.

Thursday 4/2, We got up around 8 and were freezing so we headed down to Kassie's and they were just getting up. She made us some yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. We decided since it was a little drizzly we would sight see. We drove through Garberville and Eric wanted to make sure we came back to look around then to Benbow where we went into the Inn and looked around. We stopped at the Bigfoot spot and looked around then to the Grandfather tree and took some pictures. We made our way to Confusion Hill but first checked out the new bridge going up (crazy!). We didn't do the tour and it was pretty hokey so we turned back for Garberville where Kass showed us around town and we had lunch at Chataqua (Eric and I had the special: Veggies, rice and cashew gravy). We hit the town and stopped in shops looking at shoes and the "Fun!" store with Castor and nobody minded him coming inside with us. We drove home and started planning for later in the day and hung out. We decided to go out and check on some of Sky's crew and the orchard where they're leasing a piece of property for a couple years. We saw Alyssa and JJ's new place and said hi to Jacques, who didn't seem all that interested in my presence. We checked out the orchard next and walked to the pond and reminisced about Luke and Leah's trout pond and Kassie falling in when she was little. We drove to Shelter Cove from there but first stopped at the new property Sky bought and it has amazing views with no obstructions or houses in the distance. Beautiful. We went through SC for a tour and Eric liked it. We went to the water for dinner and had a delicious dinner and great views. Fun times and K & S know everyone there. We drove home and I had my little lemon tart and ended up falling asleep on the couch as the boys watched ultimate fighting. We went up to bed around 11. Freezing again so Sky came up to help us get the heat going. Castor cuddled in bed with me again and Eric got in and cuddled with us too. We had a nice quiet chat time before turning in.

Wednesday 4/1, Eric woke me up at 6:30 and he had already taken Castor out. We got ready and called down for the car, out into the rain and on our way. We avoided traffic and snacked for breakfast and had one stop along the way at a rest stop for Castor. Made it to Grant's Pass a little before noon. Gassed up (guy gave Castor 3 treats, ugghhh) and called Kassie for a lunch / bakery recommendation and she told us right where to go and I had spinach quiche. We stopped in Kirbyville at the Burl Gallery and Eric was mesmerized. Never seen such things. I bought a little wooden hummingbird, then we stopped a couple towns down for DQ and a bathroom. Eric bought me dip cone, on our way again but I heard a noise and saw something in the rear view mirror and realized Eric probably left his phone on top of the car. Sure enough, after turning around and looking for it on foot we found it and were back on the road. Through Crescent City; then south and hit a few turnoffs where we took pictures and let Castor out then down to the beach and explored there for a long time and took pictures. Castor loved it and Eric took a bunch of pictures. Back in the car and we decided to take a detour and drove on a bumpy gravel road for a long time and we thought it would take us to the ocean, but it didn't so we turned around and went back and kept on the scenic detour. Realized we were at the spot that Randy and I hit so many years earlier where he yelled at me for not knowing where the sequoias and redwoods were and made me cry. God I would never stand for that again. I was 8 dick, like I remember which road to take to see the redwoods. Ugh. Much better memories this time around. We got out and took pictures and walked down a little trail and took pictures of Castor in front of a downed tree. Back in the car and talked to Kass again to give her an update and she needed a Mac charger and asked us to stop in Arcata. We drove through and by Humboldt Univ, parked, found the store and snagged the last one. Eric snuck off and came back with a fancy lemon tart with a rose petal, such a sweetheart. Through Eureka, we were so close, about an hour until Redway. Drove like the wind. We found it no problem and arrived around 5 maybe. We met Gina and her husband and baby Yoshi then they left and we all talked and introduced Castor to one dog at a time. He was very overwhelmed because the pups are so rough and huge and playful and curious and pushy. We separated them after a while. Kass and Sky took us up and got set up at the 5th wheel then back down to the house where we hung out talking and Kass made fajitas and we watched tv with all the puppies all around (Peru drug mishap). Eventually we all started falling asleep so the three of us went up to bed and we talked about the day and Eric got out his Audobon book. The heat kicked off quickly and we were freezing by morning.

Tuesday 3/31, I left work a little earlier than anticipated for an errand then to Tacoma and made great time surprising Eric. We left Tacoma and Eric gave me my lunch on the road. Ian sent a text bailing and I told him he was bumming me out. We made good time to Portland but traffic halted us so Eric told me to get off and do a little detour / drive down memory lane. He surprised me with how he knew how to get around in the back neighborhoods. We found the hotel (The Nines) and checked in with Castor and everyone loved him. People were asking to pet him and saying how much they missed their dogs. We went up to our room with the carob / yogurt dog treats from the front desk and we loved our room. It felt very luxurious and the marble bathroom was gorgeous. We called down for the car and drove over to Whole Foods and left Castor in the car so I could get tampons. We got coffee / hot chocolate then Powell's. I showed Eric the art area and we looked around for a long time and he found the book he wanted. We moved the car and went back to get the book then walked over to the pizza place Eric remembered from childhood and was the same one Brandon and I went to with Sos and Jake however many years ago. I got a pepperoni and we people watched. I felt gross after eating it so we went back to Whole Foods so I could get some fruit. We stopped at a gelateria so Eric could get his dessert. We went back to the hotel and fed Castor and when I took him out Castor scared a guy coming out of the elevator because he came around the corner before I did. The guy jumped a foot and I could hear him down the hall still exclaiming “Jesus!” We watched tv and I wanted BL so Eric went and worked out. He came back an hour later and we took a long shower then climbed into bed talked and cuddled.

Monday 3/30, I went home and started the long process of getting ready to leave. I vacuumed the car, washed the windows and dusted then rain x-ed. I packed my stuff and Castor's then spent a long time brushing him while watching GG. I talked to Eric twice and made some mix cds for the car ride. I half watched DwtS then showered and finished my Architectural Digest and went to sleep.

Sunday 3/29, Eric and I both slept in late (9) and I woke up first and we talked and laughed in bed and contemplated getting up. Eric started doing stuff but I just laughed so he got frustrated and went and took a shower then came back and we talked about it and how I'm feeling about things and my worries and fears. I felt a lot better after getting it all out and he's so understanding which is great. Then things heated up again but we finished quickly because we had to get ready for Sos and Jake to come over. We both got ready pretty quickly. Sos and Jake were right on time and we had some dog stuff for them and soon we were on the road to get some Indian for lunch. We didn't find it with great ease but we wandered for less than 5 minutes. We got a great table in the back and got right to work. It was the biggest buffet yet and there were some really yummy dishes. I stuffed myself, absolutely STUFFED. I felt ill. We drove home and quickly grabbed Castor and headed out to Sos' so we could dog walk. Jake stayed home and the six of us set off. We walked around the neighborhood and eventually to the library so I could drop off / pick up some cds then back to their house. We bid adieu and went to the pet store but not before I could reschedule Castor's nail clipping that I'd just missed. We went to the pet store and I returned some food and got two jars of DGP (one for Castor, one for Kama and Toto) and also some more liquid joint meds. I talked to the lady for a long time and she was very helpful. We rolled out of there and went to the vet for his nail trimming and Eric and I walked around looking at animals, fish and the dogs in the daycare program. We went home after that. We both read on the couch and I fell asleep in the sun. Eric woke me up on his way out to get coffee and took Castor. When they got back we took off for Grandma's and went up and got her and to Mom's. Everyone was there and watching videos of two of Kass' puppies fighting over a turkey and playing with Ida. Dinner was served then we talked about Dad's ventures into teaching. It was at least interesting to talk about. I had to get going so Eric and I packed up and went home so I could feed Castor and leave for Ratatat. I didn't want to go but Gary O. was meeting me there and I already had my ticket so I sucked it up and drove down. Found parking a few blocks away and walked over, found Gary inside and we chatted between bands. We did some catching up and mocked the white bread rapper and waited and waited and waited for Ratatat to come out. We figured out that we’d both been at Pat P*awlak’s wedding (Me: Guest, Him: Sound Guy) so that was hilarious and I told him how Pat, Adam and Lindsay had wanted me to tell Dean that Pat lost his virginity to him and I did and how ridiculous it was. Finally Ratatat came out at 11:10 and rocked it, but we ended up leaving at 11:55 because we're old and tired and cranky. People watching was fantastic though. And one of the guys reminded me of Thomas Talis. GO walked me to my car and I took him back to his and drove home, went to bed. It was 12:30.

Saturday 3/28, We woke up by 8 and laid in bed for a few minutes before getting up and ready since Eric wanted to be down to the convention center by 9:30. He got my cereal ready and took Castor out. We both got ready and I guiltily put Castor in the upstairs back room and we took off. It was raining, blah, and I dropped him off just before 9:30 and took the scenic route to Susan's. She called to say she was ready but I had to stop to get cash before going over. When I arrived Julia was there and I met Michael. Michael and Susan were in the kitchen getting breakfast ready so I talked to Julia about her juggling act with Mr. Flash and the other guy. I think I was some help, having juggled in a past life and in the end not dating either one long term. Found Ian instead. Julia left for her breakfast date and I joined the cooking team in the kitchen. We chatted and when the food was done, chowed down. I ate two large gluten free pancakes and two delicious pieces of maple bacon. I felt full. We moved in to the other room and continued chatting for over an hour then called K to check her ETA. I bid S & M (ha!) farewell and to enjoy their day and took off. Found parking and went up to K's. She was exhausted having just run 14 miles. She got ready while I read Vogue (from Susan) on the floor then we headed to Table 219. We were seated right away and I ordered the bread salad and she got the coffee cake and sausage scramble. We ate fairly quickly and headed back to her place. We laid on the floor and talked and went through mags and I called Ian but of course it went to voicemail. I ran down to fill my meter and eventually called Eric to tell him we needed to go. He told me he was hanging with Kass and Schuyler and he would meet me in 15-20 minutes. I said bye to K and ran to the car to pick up Eric. We drove back home and picked up Castor and got in the car for some errands. We got gas and went to the pet store for food and dog treats for Kassie's dogs. We got a cooler thing at Joe's then I went to the store and Eric got lunch. We went home and Castor was amped while we ate so I asked if he wanted to go to the dog park. We drove up and though it was raining we had a lot of fun. He was so funny kicking up bark and barking and holding his head high. I couldn't stop laughing. It was empty and he ran around for 25 minutes or so and we got him to do some great running around. We went home. Eric talked to Schuyler and they were interested in hanging out so we told them to come over. I started cleaning again and Eric went to the store for things to make dinner. I did a bunch of stuff and Eric started cooking and before we knew it C & S arrived. They came in and I showed S the large brown poodle (Archie) on the HS website rescued from the puppy mill. C and I talked at length about her trip and cancellation to Alaska. Then we talked about dating and juggling. C thinks she would drown in the dating world. Dinner was ready at 9:30 or so and Eric made these stuffed peppers with polenta and mozzarella and homemade tomato sauce along with a salad. Chrystol made gluten free cookies for dessert and we watched public access for a long time howling with laughter and the boys have decided they're going to come up with a show. We watched most of SNL then part of Almost Live and C&S eventually packed it up and took off. It was almost 2 as we climbed into bed.

Friday 3/27, I had a dream about LPC (sparked I'm sure by "I Love You, Man") and it was one of the most comforting dreams ever. We hugged and it was soooo nice. I felt safe and completely enveloped in his tall embrace. Ahh. Then Sos pulled up and said I'd promised to go to Leavenworth so all us girls piled in to the car and started going. Weird. Kass called saying she was in town and I talked to Mom for a long time about MN and boys and summer plans. After work I went home with Castor and started cleaning because I was feeling motivated. I got everything vacuumed and got some laundry started then as I was taking a short break Dad called and I talked to him about plans to MN and 90 vs Hwy. 2. I called Eric because I was excited and told him I'd see him later. I decided to go to Petco to see if I could find Castor a new bed and when I walked in this woman was all excited about Castor but we ducked down another aisle to go to the beds. I perused and Castor was well behaved and then the woman came into my aisle and to her husband said "There he is!" and I was like "hmm, ok". Everyone kept saying how good he is. When I went to check out a girl asked if she could pet and I said yes, then the mother who asked how I kept him so calm and I said he's older so maybe that's a reason. Then she said he's the calmest lab she's ever met. Anyway, I went next door to TJ's for peanut butter and a salad then home. Castor laid on his new bed immediately. Yay! Talked to Susan and Kay-See about coming to see each of them the next day. I continued doing stuff and ended up on the couch again and Eric called that he was on his way. He arrived and played with Castor and I think we watched tv then went upstairs. I showered and climbed in bed and we fell asleep.

Thursday 3/26, I got off work early and went home to get Castor prepped to be at home for a while by himself. I fed him and did a few things then Susan called and said she was going home because she didn't feel good. I hit the road and said bye to Castor who looked so sad when I closed the door to leave. I called K and she wasn't out of work yet and would be a little late. I parked and went in Habits for the Home and saw a dining room table I loooved. They had some good deals going. It was a quarter after 5 so I went into the bar and K wasn't there. I sat for another 15 minutes or so and put in an order for nachos and a light beer for K and waited until she showed up. She started to vent about her day then got a text that Heidi's friend was coming now so we wouldn't have time for girl talk. Then her friend was there too. It was a little awkward at first but by the end it was fine. We were doing a lot of laughing and they were doing a lot of drinking. There was a pizza dare in there and all kinds of hilarity. When the bill came we were all perplexed and eventually Jen threw down money and said something awkward and told us to forget about it. We sat there stunned and silent then packed up to hit the road. I ran down to my car to move it to Lincoln Square while the girls walked. I made it up and they had already bought my ticket so I had to return mine. They were all the way in the back corner which was good because those girls were drunk and had the giggles. I loved the movie (I Love You, Man) and love Jason Segal as he reminds me of LPC to the core. We laughed through the whole thing and said our goodbyes afterward as K and I headed to my car. We gossiped on the way to her car and I dropped her in front of the Galleria. I called Eric on the way home and made it there in about 10. When I got there Eric was irritated as Castor had gone nutty and chewed one of his shoe laces off his new sneaks while he was in the shower. I think it's because Eric gave him one of the chewys not knowing he can't have them and it made him nuts. It sounds like more stomach stuff so I'm not sure what to do about it other than regulate his food and not start anything new. I got ready for bed and started telling Eric about my night and we talked in bed for a long time before falling asleep after 11.

Wednesday 3/25, I took Castor on another walk and we went all the way to the light so I know we did two miles. He loved it. We went home and I talked to Eric and made dinner and relaxed for the rest of the evening. I watched Scrubs and the end of ANTM. Took Castor out and eventually made it upstairs to go to bed early so I could be up early and out of work early to go to Happy Hour with the girls.

Tuesday 3/24, After work Castor and I went on a long walk on the trail and I talked to Susan about her new living arrangement. I went to the store and picked up a few things and the lot and lines were insane. Eric called while I was driving home but I told him I had to get off so I could bring stuff up and managed to knock my Thom picture off the wall in the entry and glass shattered everywhere. I was beyond irritated. I called Eric back and he told me to settle down and that he'd help me get it fixed this weekend. I cleaned it up then made Castor's dinner and mine and was relaxing on the couch when I remembered I needed to call Eric back. We talked for an hour about our trip and this weekend and getting away from work for 6 days. Yay. I hung up with him and did stuff around the house and tried to figure out why the numbers on my mortgage weren't adding up and finally did. Watched Biggest Loser and ate ice cream. Brushed Castor for a looooong time and got so much undercoat off it was crazy. Took him out and went up to my room to finish watching my show. Went to bed at 11.

Monday 3/23, I went to the library to drop off and pick up some cds and talked to Auntie Lauryn about dinner plans. On my way home I talked to Eric who said he was hanging out at a hot chick's place and when I threatened "I'm gonna kill that bitch!" he goes "Well then you better drive into a telephone pole because I'm at your house" so that was cute. He hurt his leg at work and was hoping it wasn't fractured. I fed Castor quickly and was glad Eric was there to look after him. I took off for MI and called AL on the way and told them to meet me in the garage. I called Mom quickly to get a status update and everything had been fine at the doctor so a lot of hysteria for nothing. I went up and found Grandma and AL making their way down so I took Grandma the rest of the way and AL went to the dry cleaners to drop something off. We drove to Outback and found a close spot. I had a good dinner of chicken, rice and veggies but Grandma didn't have much to say about her dinner that wasn't negative. She seemed out of it and I think she was just tired. AL treated and that was nice and I took all the leftovers, for Eric. I took them home and dropped them off and said my goodbyes and headed home. I called Eric on the way and told him to get GG ready cause I would be cutting it close. He laughed. He ate the coconut shrimp and lamb chops and said they were good. We watched the shows then I was running around doing stuff and Eric went upstairs. Finally I went up too and we watched the end of DwtS then lights out and sleep.

Sunday 3/22, Eric got up early and started making breakfast and let the dog out to run around in the rain. I finally got up at 8:30 and he told me breakfast would be ready in 20 minutes so I sat in the living room and looked at Castor outside having the time of his life and played on the computer and Eric brought breakfast in. A potato, egg, pork chop, cheese hash thing that was delicious. I ate it all. I talked to AL for a little while on the phone about Castor and picking her up from the airport. We got dressed and got in the car to go see if I could find some slippers. We went to Target and some mall Eric hadn't ever been to but came up empty then walked over to Macy's but nothing there. We did quite a bit of walking. Next we went to Super Supplements where he helped me pick out some fish oil and a multivitamin then I got some new night cream (Weleda Rose). Eric decided we should go to Puyallup so he could show me around and they were having a treasure show at the fairgrounds. We drove around town for a while then back to his house. I finished packing my stuff up and checked the flight status and headed out at 12:30. I picked up Auntie who loved Castor and we headed to Grandma's. Kima was there and for the next 4 hours we sat there and talked about Grandma's state and everything that was depressing and I just wanted to leave but I didn't. Kima stayed with Grandma and AL and I walked Castor to the store so she could pick up some things and when we got back I hugged and kissed and took off for home. Eric was close on my heels on his way back from Seattle. At home I did some cleaning and fed Castor. Eric arrived and I told him about my night a bit, then talked to Mom while Eric whipped up dinner. He made some pasta with some flank steak that was in the freezer and chocolate chip scones for dinner. We watched EHM and Desperate Housewives and eventually headed up to bed.

Saturday 3/21, We woke up around 8 and finally got out of bed at 9 to get a jump on the day. We loaded up the car and headed to Pau's for donuts. I tried a new one (powdered chocolate cream filled) and got an old faithful (french krueller) and preferred the later. We drove out to Gig Harbor and Eric showed me where he works and some of their sites and we got out at a park and let Castor run around. He obeyed very well. Back in the car and down to downtown Gig Harbor where we went in a lot of little jewelry, art and home shops and a bookstore. Back in the car we headed out of GH and up toward Bremerton. We stopped there for lunch at some Red Sox place and each got a sandwich. We drove around and noticed a complete lack of activity downtown. Back south where we got on some highway to do a tour of the small towns of the South Sound. We went through Shelton and Allyn, where we stopped to let Castor play at the beach and explore the dock. He was scared of the water sloshing up through the floating dock. Back in the car we made a stop in some other little town at the DQ and got an ice creamy-treat. I think next we went to Olympia and got lost trying to get downtown and drove and drove on this road which eventually ended and we laughed and drove all the way back. Found the city center and parked and walked around and there are some very cute shops, especially Drees. I wanted like everything in there. There was the most beautiful marble lamp that was opaque. I didn't even look at the price. We kept walking and going in little shops and eventually headed back to the car and went up to the capital. It was so beautiful out all day. We wandered around the grounds and ran up stairs to different buildings and talked about the architecture and details and bronze doors. We wandered back to the car and started heading back to Tacoma. Eric called his mom and firmed up plans for dinner. We went back to his house and got ready and left Castor there to hold down the fort. We drove over to his childhood home and it was super cute. Brick. Went in, met mom, talked about new living room furniture and paint colors and the monkey face fabric. We headed out and went to a Mexican place. I had tortilla soup and we had nice conversation. The waiter winked at Barb. We decided to go to the new Nordstrom after dinner and I was trying on shoes and giving Eric's Mom my opinion on her shoes and she ended up buying some sandals and almost a pair of Tahitian pearl earrings until Eric practically pulled her out of the jewelry section. We drove back to her house and dropped her off and I got a hug so that went well. We went back to his house and I think I had some peach ice cream and we watched AMW then got ready for bed. Took a shower together then I put on my little outfit and we got to work. Everything turned out very well. No shot in the eye this time. We took another quick shower then cuddled and went to sleep.

Friday 3/20, I went to work an hour early and left an hour early and despite that it still took me over an hour and a half to get to Eric's. Castor was a good sport and behaved himself the whole time. Longest car ride to date I believe. When I got there Eric was at the store so I pulled in and shut the gate behind me and let Castor out. He was going crazy and was sniffing everything and peeing everywhere and kicking his feet up with his head held high. It was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. I noticed this little chow-looking dog next door sitting in a mud pit tied up to a stake and looking extremely sad. Eric showed up and Castor was very happy to see him and ran around the yard some more and started rolling around on the ground. We went inside and Castor did some exploring. We hung out for a little while and Eric had bought me an "Ok" and chocolate bunny. Eventually we got in the car to get dinner and went over by PLU and walked around there and decided on Chinese. Dinner felt really long, but it was all very good. We went home and laid on the couch and I read my Ok while Castor acted crazy and wouldn't settle down. Eric let him out repeatedly all weekend and Castor loved it. We went to bed somewhat early since we were both exhausted.

Thursday 3/19, I got off work a little early and headed home to clean and start packing. I saw Susan pull up and looking through something so I called from the upstairs window and in a creepy voice asked "What are you reading?" which made us both laugh and she came up. She followed me around the house as I did laundry and fed Castor. Kay-See showed up a little before 6 and we watched some youtube videos and the CM video and K goes "My white pants!" at the same time as she did in the video. I started dinner and Dad called so I talked to him for a minute. K eventually came in the kitchen too and did the salads and we talked about not seeing Ky for a long time. We took dinner to the living room and continued talking and watching WoF. After dinner we were back in the kitchen sitting on the counters and eating sweets and talking about sex and relationships and life. Ughhh. They had some insightful things for me to think about. It looked like Castor was going to get sick so I took him out and though he ate a shitload of grass he didn't throw up. We went back in and he appeared to be fine. K was getting ready to leave so I walked her down and Susan had an interesting dilemma on her hands. We discussed her strategy and she left too. I called Eric and was trying to get everything packed and laundry done and ready for bed so I was a bit frantic. I had to be in to work an hour early so I wanted to get to bed early too. We talked until 10 then I finished running around and eventually into bed and lights out by 10:45.

Wednesday 3/18, Castor and I took a walk after work on the trail and probably did a mile and a half, maybe a little more. We went home and I talked to Alix and told her to come over and that I'd look up Italian places online. Eric called while I was doing stuff around the house and we talked for a long time and when I answered he asked "Are you naked?" and I laughed "No" then he said "Good, you're naked" and I asked "Are you jerking off?" and he goes "I'll ask the questions". He makes me laugh. Alix arrived about a half hour later so I hung up with him and we hit the road to Cucina Cucina, which we both couldn't believe was still open. We had a nice dinner and talked about school and the bitches on her squash team. Apparently the captain's goal in life is to be Blair from GG. I want to punch that girl. We went to PCC so I could pick up some things then home. I turned on ANTM but didn't really watch it until the end. I brushed Castor and did some things around the house and continued talking with Alix. I dished up some ice cream and pie. I finally kicked Alix out at 9:30 and walked her out with Castor. Janna was out there and I told her about the windows and she couldn't believe it and told me I have to go to the next meeting with the info. I said bye to Alix and to have a safe trip back to Boston. Castor and I went upstairs and I watched the news for a bit then went to bed a little after 11.

Tuesday 3/17, Castor and I went to the park after work and walked a mile. I talked to Sos for a little bit then back in the car and headed home. I made Castor's dinner and once again he ate it all. It's shocking, yet...not. He got a scrambled egg in it which is a guarantee to get him to eat. I think I'll switch off doing string cheese and an egg. I talked to Eric for a long time and watched Biggest Loser. Went to bed kind of late.

Monday 3/16, Went to the library to return some cds and pick up 5 more then to the pet store where I brought Castor in to get another Himalayan cheese stick and let him pick out a toy. The girl that always helps me came over and said she didn't imagine he'd be so big. She rang me up and we chatted about his diet then off we went to the store. I talked to Eric for a few minutes before going in. At home I made Castor's dinner and he ate it all and I heated up leftover pizza which was very good. Eric called me back and we talked for a long time about plans for this weekend when I go down to Tacoma. So far on the agenda: Gig Harbor, see his parks, that yummy donut place, drive through Olympia and Bremerton, pet store downtown, meet his mother, possibly at Chevy's. Haven't been there since college. We hung up as I was dishing up pie for dessert and called Susan who filled me in on her lusty weekend events. I watched GG and flipped back to DwtS on the commercials. We went upstairs and eventually went to bed after watching the news and ripping cds.

Sunday 3/15, We slept in until almost 9 and when Eric pulled the shades up he was all "Holy shit" because the unexpected flakes of snow were the size of silver dollars. We sat in bed looking out and couldn't believe it. It didn't last long and soon turned to rain. Eric went downstairs and called Schuyler because he'd missed his earlier call while I ate some cereal. Turns out they wanted to get some brunch so we got dressed and I called Sos to see if they wanted to go and she did but Jake was still sleeping. When they arrived we left in Eric's car and picked up Sos on the way to Jak's. We had a nice breakfast with lots of hilarious conversation as well as some job / school talk. We paid the bill and walked over to the salmon hatchery to look around and saw a couple frye swimming around. Back to the car and we dropped Sos off then started some exploring. We went to Boehms and picked out some chocolates and looked around and couldn't get enough of the hilarious-ness of everything. After that we went to Starbucks to use the bathroom then drove up to the Plateau so they could all see it. I told them it wasn't much and they agreed. I took them to the street of dreams and showed them where the basketball player lived (now for sale) and we headed back down and over to Peggy's to show Chrystol. We went home after that and C & S didn't stick around for long. After they left I laid down on the couch and fell asleep for a while. Around 4:30 I decided we should go to the park so we drove up and Castor was very excited. We did two times around and we both ran with him for a little bit. When we got home Mom had called thinking we would be there at 5:30 but clearly we weren’t. I fed Castor and fixed my makeup and hair (for the play) and we set out. They'd waited to eat so we all dished up and Ernie and Erika were there and Alix is home from school. We had a nice dinner and talked for a while in the family room where we had Mom's delicious lemon cookies. I think I had 4. A little after 7 Eric and I took off and ended up down in SoDo, which was wrong, which I'd warned against but google earth showed the theatre down there so I thought maybe they opened up another one or something. Nope. Down to Seattle Center to the Rep and we were a few minutes late so we had to sit in late seating but that was ok. At intermission we moved into our seats on the main level but first checked out Hillary and David's names on the donation wall under $25k - $49k. The play was good (Seafarer) and took a twist in the first act that neither of us saw coming. I wasn't feeling very good so I was not in the pleasantest of moods, which I feel bad for Eric for. He was so excited about it and I believe I brought the evening down. When I got home Castor finally ate his dinner and wouldn't go out until he finished. I showered and crawled into bed, but still felt bloated and ish. Eric stayed up watching the news and we were talking even though I was semi-out of it.

Saturday 3/14, Eric woke up first and went downstairs while I continued to sleep and could hear my morning being ruined by the rain. Eric came up and I had the news on and I told him if he wasn't there I'd be in bed until 11 or noon, easy. We got up and dressed and headed out with Castor to the French bakery up at Crossroads. I got a pain au chocolat and a lemon palmier. Both were delicious. Eric got a fruit brioche and it was sooo good. He ended up not eating his spinach and feta croissant so I ate it for dinner. We drove down to the dog park and let Castor run around in the rain while we huddled under an umbrella. He burned off some energy and we headed home. Eric helped me pick up the house in preparation of Greg the window guy coming over. He showed up promptly at 10:30 and showed me what the options are and told me he didn't see any problems. I told him I'd let him know what I find out from the HOA. We did a few other things then I called Sos to tell her we were going out to Monroe to go to Alfy's for lunch if her and Jake wanted to come and surprisingly they said yes. They came over and we discovered pizzas at lunch are half off. We were stoked. Eric drove and Castor rode in the back and we all gabbed the entire way there. We put in our orders: Sos and I got a large pepperoni and the boys got the Monster Meat Wallop. We laughed at them. There was so much food it was obscene. We stuffed ourselves and talked, talked, talked for like an hour and a half and finally left. On the way back we stopped at Costco Home so we could show them all the crazy stuff they have in there. They found a bunch of stuff they liked and said they wanted to come back. We got back in the car and headed back home. They left and I went upstairs to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall and veg out while Eric started his pie. Eventually I went back downstairs to spend time with Eric in the kitchen and keep him company after he'd returned from the store. I told him I was worried when he was gone so long but he reassured me and we had a conversation about it so that was good. He worked on his pie but needed something so had to go back to the store and took Castor with him for the ride. I watched Cops and told him what was happening then AMW and JW said "Let's saddle up" two more times and Eric and I were dying. And the "Baby Bones" part, Eric kept yelling (from the kitchen) "Stop calling her 'Baby Bones'!" The pie (peach and blueberry with lemon zest) was finished around 10 and we had a piece at 11. It was very juicy which made Eric furious, but I told him it tasted delicious and he drained the excess off. I reminded him it was a learning opportunity. We watched some SNL in bed before falling asleep around midnight or a little after.

Friday 3/13, Eric met me at home after work and we hopped in the car to go to the beach park by my house. We walked Castor down and he wanted in the water badly but it was too cold for that. We went home and heated up leftovers and watched tv. Eric talked to Schuyler earlier in the day and made plans for later, which I suggested be dessert. I looked up a bunch of places but settled on Bakery Nouveau. We waited for their call but by 8 thought we were getting ditched. By 8:30 they called and it was a no go and Eric was frustrated. I had some ice cream and we ended up hanging out just the two of us and I think ended up going to bed early.

Thursday 3/12, Eric texted that he was off early again and would come up. I drove home and found him prepping dinner but I had other ideas so I told him I wanted to return that dog food and go over to Peggy's so he turned off the stove and off we went with an excited Castor. First stop was Petsmart to return the Rx dog food then over to PCC where Eric picked out three bunches of tulips and a card for Peggy to thank her for HI. I called Peggy to find out where she was but it looked like she wouldn't be back before we left. We took care of the flowers then set out for a nice walk on the trail. Castor was pulling quite a bit so we determined his behavior is situational. When he's with me he rarely pulls and when I gently pull the leash back he knows I want him next to me, and that was definitely not the case. He gets very excited. When we got back I used the bathroom then we took off and passed Peggy on the road 2 miles down; just missed her. At home Eric got going on dinner again and I made rice for Castor and gave him his frozen yogurt kong before dinner to get the enzymes churning. He barely touched his dinner until I put a couple pieces of meatloaf in, which will be the last of its kind for a while after Monday. Eric made some goulash thing with ground turkey, egg noodles, lots of sour cream, dill and a bunch of other spices. It was good though he didn't love it. I had seconds. We watched tv together then he went upstairs to watch basketball and I stayed down. Eventually took the dog out and went upstairs to shower and got in bed. We had a little play time which felt much overdue.

Wednesday 3/11, I had a dream Nicole cut her hair short and had the baby but the baby was like 6 months old and her ears started bleeding. Very disturbing. I texted Eric (RH) later to tell him my dream but didn't hear back. Castor ate his food in the morning so that was a relief. After work I went back to the pet store so I could return the canned food I couldn't use and got some more venison canned food and some enzymes with probiotics that will hopefully help his tummy. Next I went to the library to drop off cds and pick up three new ones and talked to Sos and told her to come over at 6:15. I talked to Eric a few times throughout the day and headed home and talked to him again. We chatted until Jake and Sos arrived with the pizza. We hung in the kitchen getting the oven ready and talking until the smoke came out of the oven due to Eric leaving a bacon-greasy pan in there, so there was smoke everywhere and a fire started in the bottom but put itself out. Jake started the taxes as we snacked on veggies then ate pizza in front of the tv and watched ANTM while I brushed Castor. They left shortly after 9 and I went upstairs and talked to Eric then showered and noticed Castor being super weird downstairs eating newspaper when I got out and he wanted to go outside to eat leaves and was eating all this shit and I couldn't stop him. I figured he had to throw up but I was in my underwear and couldn't take him outside so brought him back in and he was licking the carpet but disappeared downstairs and then was fine. Well, I should have known he'd thrown up but I didn't find it until the next morning; inches from the hardwood floor on the carpet. Ah well. Now I need some good carpet cleaner! We went to bed after 11 though I didn't sleep all that well.

Tuesday 3/10, Had a dentist appointment and took Castor to the vet who determined it's highly likely that he has food allergies so she's putting him on a hypoallergenic diet and no more meat anything. Great. He already doesn't like to eat, so this should be interesting. I have some canned food I need to return and he can't have his hip supplements because of biproducts so this new diet should be expensive but I'm praying it works. The soft poop, excessive licking and ear problems are all indicative of his allergy. After work I went to All the Best and the girl helping me said the food the vet wants him on is shit and has no protein and suggested a venison and sweet potato diet, no other meat, just venison. I felt really torn so I got some dry food and vegetarian wet food and she gave me a bunch of samples of things to try and I was going to call the vet the next day to talk out my concerns. I took Castor to the park and we did a mile and ran a bit. At home I gave him his new food and he actually ate it, though not all of it and would only eat the canned pumpkin out of my hand. Trial and error. I talked to Sos and Susan and they both had interesting things to say and encouraged me to talk to the vet. I talked to Eric who said to just feed him the venison and asked me if I would take dietary advice from my doctor or would I seek the advice of a nutritionist so his point was loud and clear and I decided not to bother with talking to the vet. It was a somewhat stressful day. I watched Biggest Loser off and on and updated my restaurants. Went to bed at like 10:15 - was exhausted.
