Thursday 8/13, Got home early and read a chapter then headed out to Lincoln Square to meet Susan for 500 Days of Summer. I got there fairly early so I bought tickets and called Sos to wish her a happy birthday while I waited. People watching was decent. Susan arrived and we went in and luckily to theater wasn't very full and we laughed through the trailers (especially Stepdad) and noticed there are a number of movies coming out with a lot of big name actors. I really liked the movie, though it was a little depressing. Pretty good soundtrack. Said bye to Susan and wished her luck with the parking garage and headed home, talking to Alix on the way about money and car loans. I made dinner and did some chores, though I got distracted and ended up watching tv and playing on my computer and eating almost a whole jar of Bartlett pears. Eric arrived at 8:30 and we talked for a while about meetings and sharing and he shared with me even though he didn't at his meeting. Before long I fell asleep on the couch and Susan called at 10 waking me from my slumber. She wasn't feeling good and asked for a rain check. I was relieved because I was so tired. We talked for a while as I took the dogs out. I went up to shower, climbed into bed, read a chapter of HP (Gringotts) and called to Eric to come up. It was after 11. We were both cold, laughing as we tried to get warm and I avoided his cold appendages. To sleep.
Wednesday 8/12, Eric came up and I asked if he wanted to go to the park for a walk and he did, probably only to oblige me, so we went up with the pups. Brizo was better and finally pooped; it had been 2 days for crying out loud. We did two half loops again and went home. Fixed dinner for the pups and heated up tater tot casserole for dinner. I read for most of the night I think and eventually went upstairs and was laying around naked and Eric came up and wanted to bite my butt but I wouldn't let him. We laughed as I dodged him and he continued to proclaim he wanted to bite that butt. More reading and to bed.
Tuesday 8/11, I waited for Eric to get home and passed the time by listening to music and reading HP. When he arrived I asked if he wanted to go on a walk, he didn't and wanted to start dinner so I went up with the dogs and did two half laps and Brizo had been acting a bit weird all day, not keeping up and such; my suspicions were that she had to poop but couldn't. Back down to the house and fed the dogs then dinner for us was ready: tater tot casserole with chopped steak instead of hamburger. It was very good and I ate too much. I ate Court's blizzard for dessert. I think I read more and Eric watched tv. Relaxed and went to bed.
Monday 8/10, Said bye to Court in the morning and took off to the vet and dropped Brizo off for her dental appt. I was off work early and picked her up and she was super out of it. They had to pull one of her teeth, but I think they actually pulled two. Her smile is all off now and instead of a rat terrier she looks like a hillbilly terrier. At home it started raining and Brizo had several accidents and was still super out of it. I felt really bad for her but just tried to comfort her and get her to sleep some more. I read HP and had her nap on the bed with me and listened to music. Eric arrived at 7 and we went to the store for dinner stuff. I did a bit of cleaning and Eric worked on dinner, though it wasn't ready until 9. He was going to make a chicken stir fry but the chicken smelled weird, like peanut oil, so he switched gears and whipped up a veggie stir fry that was very tasty. We went upstairs after I cleaned the kitchen and read more HP with Brizo on the bed with me. To sleep by 11.
Sunday 8/9, Eric was up early and took Castor to the park. I was up by 8:30 and called Sos to tell her to come over so she could have breakfast with us. Eric promised me breakfast so the three of us sat on the couch talking and Eric worked away in the kitchen, just like a good little house elf. He served us and it was all very good. She left and we started getting ready and eventually they came back over and off we went down to Ballard to go to the market. We wandered and there were many cute boys out. It was also very hot. It was cloudy on the Eastside so we were all dying because of our layers. Court and I got a veggie quesadilla that was very good, and also by the cute guy's stand. We ate it while the others looked around then we all headed up to Market. Jake took off in search of food and I wanted to hit Sonic Boom to get the new Moondoggies' ep then over to the pet store. I bought Brizo a new bowl; they didn't have two so they had one shipped to the store by my house. We perused then walked back to the car. We tried to go to the Locks but parking was awful so we scraped it and headed back toward the Ballard bridge but saw a motorcycle get hit and the woman on the ground was moaning and people were stopped trying to help and the husband was yelling and swearing, it was awful. We went home and Sos and Jake left and we vowed if we hadn't heard from Josh by 5 to have dinner at my place instead. We relaxed for a few minutes then I suggested a dog walk so Court and I headed up the hill and did two times around with Castor. Back at home we did more relaxing and Josh called Sos and she filled us in and dinner was back on at his place at 7. I groaned because I really didn't want to go for fear of being there super late. We left a little before 7 and Lena wasn't there when we got there so we talked with Josh and Kaya. Dinner came together nicely and we had fun. After dinner everyone played gin rummy and Eric built a house of cards that Kaya tried to blow over. We left by 9:30 and arrived home by 10. We chatted a while longer then went to bed.
Saturday 8/8, I set my alarm and was up at 7:30 and the carpet guys called at 7:50 and said they'd be there in 20 minutes, yikes. We all hurried and got ready, Eric fed the dogs and soon they arrived. I gave them instructions and we were out of the house minutes later. We gassed up and picked up Sos then started the drive down to Tacoma. Eric took us scenic route down 6th and we pointed and reminisced all the way down then drove by the S. 8th house and talked about more memories. Finally we arrived at Pau's for yummy donuts and I got a krueller and buttermilk and we had fun talking and eating. We headed over to UPS via Orchard I think and went by the old tanning place and across Proctor and over to UPS. We parked by the sub and walked through while Eric watched the dogs. We saw George, Court's tree, as we emerged and faced Phibbs, and headed up to Benefactor's Plaza (laugh). Court and Sos couldn't believe I remembered so many of the names and things. Doesn't everyone? Guess not. We went over to Phibbs and snuck in while the high school cheerleaders went in and out. Eric stayed out to watch dogs again and look at cheerleaders like he used to when he was younger. A walk down memory lane for us all. We walked through our old rooms, the bathroom, the halls and all the smells are the same. So crazy. We looked at the boys' rooms and so many more memories raced through my head as we tried to identify which rooms were each of the boys. We walked up to Wyatt and went in for a minute then over to the Science building so I could show them the new glass pyramid cafe in the courtyard. We went into the new wing and met Eric on the other side then went across the street and walked by old Sigma Nu and down 15th to see the old blue house and Court's house. A man driving stopped to ask me about Brizo and wanted to pet her. I told him about Ginger's. We continued walking and ended up at Sos' and back toward campus and the nipple house. Down Union and the science building for a bathroom break and down by Howarth. Brizo was herding Court. We had Eric take a picture of us in front of Jones, though fairly far away. Back in the car and drove around all the old houses and tried to go down to Ruston but a train thwarted us and on the way back saw Josh's old house and a garage sale. We stopped but nothing that good so we continued to drive and look at beautiful houses., drove down to Antique Sandwich Co and had lunch, drive around Point D, down to Ruston, looked at lots of houses, so pretty, back up to Issaquah to drop Sos then home for nap time. I fell asleep on my bed while Court played on the computer. She eventually snuck out and took a nap on her bed. We relaxed and talked on the couch into the evening. We read HP (both of us) and a movie was nixed by a less than motivated group of 4 girls. Court went to bed at 11, not far behind for me.
Friday 8/7, Got off early and headed home to drop the dogs and talked to Court and said I'd be there in a while to help set up. I took a shower and hit the road with a stop at Trader Joe's for appetizers and over to Sos'. Her and Courtney were decorating so I helped finish that up and then Court and I sat on the couch and looked at nude male playing cards and we couldn't stop laughing. They were so hilarious and over the top and one of them was the guy on my mug. Josh, Lena and Kaya arrived first then eventually Kay-See and Eric called to say he was going to a meeting on the way up and wouldn't make it over but would see me at home. Sos made the little puff pastries I brought and they all got eaten then dinner was up and Jake made like 5 different pizzas and they were all really good. We talked and ate and had a good time. I wanted to go to the art walk so we got ready but Josh and Lena rolled out so we said our goodbyes and headed down Front Street. We ducked in a few places and went to the gallery and I was sad not to see my animals and vowed that we'd go to the farmer's market the next day to see if she'd be there. On the walk back I noticed her paintings outside Fins and stopped to look and the waiters kept asking if we were ok and I said yes and that I'd talked to her before and would see her tomorrow, but one waiter wouldn't take no for an answer and said "Yes, yes, yes" so then I felt bad. She came out and we talked for a long time and she still hasn't finished it but said she would and Court liked the wine drinking mermaid painting and she said she'll have smaller ones so I might get her one. I told her not to paint ferns on the rabbit painting. I might end up with that one. K liked the unfinished horse painting and we asked her about it. We all walked back to Sos' and had cookies, pie and ice cream for dessert. Jake went into the office and we all gabbed about Eric and everyone was very encouraging and had advice so that was fun. 4 of the 5 original Nipple House girls. It was great and so much fun. Court and I headed home then talked forever on the couch about boys and preventing problems and getting to the cause of the problem rather than just nag on it. She was impressed. We went upstairs to bed and I found a sweet card from Eric with an itunes card and Across the Universe cd and a promise to make breakfast in bed for me and Court the next day for my birthday (he didn't remember I had to have the carpets cleaned). I went in and showed Court since it pertained to what we'd been chatting about. We ended up talking more and laughing and eventually I left and got into bed. It was midnight.
Thursday 8/6, After work I got more dog food and things and talked to the girl forever, I just love her. Brizo had an accident in the store and Gail said she may have an infection because of the smell; neither of us could smell anything. I made a mental note to bring it up with the vet on Monday. I wish I knew her name, but the helpful girl gave me my coupon back again. I went home to drop off stuff then we went up to the park but Brizo puked right as we got there, ugh. Too much commotion? Don't know. We did one time around then home and did some cleaning, reading on the net and talked to Sos about my birthday and that “fun” stuff. We kept getting cut off so she asked if she could come over. I continued to clean and got a lot done but not everything I needed to. She arrived and we talked for a long time and played with the dogs and soon it was time to go pick up Court. We took Dad's car and got to the airport quickly, found Court and talked all the way back to Issaquah. We were all hungry for dinner so we went to Noodle Boat for dinner and it was very good but the service isn't great. We talked forever and laughed and enjoyed being together and gossiping about the ole UPS days and where everyone is. We went back to mine and hung with Eric then looked at Sos' wedding pics on myspace and reminisced and sat on the couch talking. Sos left after 10, I took the dogs out and got Court situated and hit the hay at 11.
Wednesday 8/5, At work Brizo made me laugh a lot and is making big strides; walking next to me on our walk, playing and running in the driveway, eating blueberries that seem to be like rocket fuel to her. Eric informed me he was coming up after all due to a change of plans. I'd made plans with the fam to go to Maggiano’s for dinner. I received texts, facebook messages and phone calls all day with birthday wishes which was very sweet. I was off early and went home and changed shoes and hung out and cleaned. I stripped the guest bedroom sheets and blanket in anticipation of Court coming the next day and Brizo rolled around and loved them and had a hey day. I took off for the restaurant and dinner was good with freebies and a coupon. Saw Andrew and wished him a happy belated birthday and chatted for a minute. I headed home and Mom came quickly after and finally met Brizo. We sat for a long time talking and Eric worked on his time sheets. After she left we talked and he told me he's got more going on than he let on originally. I was upset, crying, on my birthday. Blah. I told him I didn't like it and it wasn't ok and asked what did I do that he couldn't trust me to tell me these things. We finished talking, he apologized, I told him it was ok but that I still wasn't happy. Everything is ok, I guess. I kept cleaning and Eric helped me. I put on Aaron Sprinkle in my room and reminisced for a long time and called him up to listen to it with me. We talked more, lighthearted things, took the dogs out, bathed Castor while Brizo was destroying my undies and Eric held the shower door shut so Castor couldn't bolt. I showered, climbed into bed and the power kept going out and it's super annoying. Finally went to bed out of frustration after repeated attempts to watch tv and look at pics online. Need to get that fixed.
Tuesday 8/4, I was home early again then off to my annual appt which went quickly and without incident. At home I found Eric making dinner: delicious pork chops with apricot glaze he made from the last apricot from the fam reunion, yum. It was very good. I did some reading then Eric informed me he wouldn't be coming up for my birthday. I wasn't pleased but he was going to try and take care of his money stuff so I thought it was for the greater good. Probably read before bed some more.
Monday 8/3, After work I went party shopping with Sos to pick out party supplies and she gave me cute salt and pepper shakers and I gave her the rest of her dog stuff. I went home and to the park for a walk with the pups and back home for a few chips. Off to the vet with Brizo for her booster and made a dental appt for Monday to have her teeth cleaned and her microchip put in. At home I found Eric making chicken soft tacos then had a big convo about money and getting finances squared away. It was fairly serious but then mood lightened as we watched WoF and I made sex jokes with my taco. Looked at stuff online then upstairs to pay bills and get ready for bed. Eric stayed downstairs while I started the final HP book. Bathed Castor then I woke Eric up at 10:30 downstairs and all of us went up to bed.
Sunday 8/2, I got up at 8 and started getting ready and trying to help get things rolling. Eric had been up earlier and had been running around helping of course. The big breakfast was started and Kass and Sky took forever to get up and help, but eventually did. I continued to get things packed up and around 10 breakfast was ready and the bees were awful but the food was really good. Finished packing up and said good byes to everyone and headed out with Aubs in my car and the dogs in Eric's. We stopped to get gas and continued on our way home while making great time. At home we unloaded the car and decided to go to DQ and called Mom and Dad to meet us there instead. We ordered blizzards and talked and waited and when the parents and Grandma and Papa arrived they had ice cream treats too. We told Aubrie about the one guy who says he doesn't eat there and has an attitude problem. Soon we were on our way to the airport and said bye and that we'd see them all in a month. Eric and I and headed home in two separate cars and made a stop at the store stop for groceries then home to relax. I wanted to finish HP so I went upstairs and finished while Eric watched tv downstairs. After I finished I wanted to get the house cleaned up so I was running around and a little peeved that Eric wasn't helping out more, but he had been up early helping so I didn't say anything. I finally sat down and relaxed for the remainder of the night then bed time.
Saturday 8/1, Up and French Toast for breakfast on the deck then got ready for the day. The boys were getting the raft all set up for our river rafting adventure of the day and off we went around noon. Luckily this year we had enough boys and they took care of getting the raft down to the river and while they were doing that Kassie pretended to pee in the grass so people wouldn't see her hiding her keys under a fallen sign. One guy apparently was sneaking a peak. We got into the water and it was cold but not freezing and down the river we started. We had a lot of fun but the sun was so hot and strong. I traded seats with Skylar so him and Kassie could navigate and it was interesting to watch them bicker and I told him it was going to be great for their relationship. Everyone got in a few times and everyone got in together when we got into the super deep spot and we pulled the boat over and hung in the water, which was cold but refreshing. Off we went again and pulled in a while later, hauled stuff up, and noticed snacks were out. We all sat and devoured the apps, especially me because I was starving! I ate too much but it was good. I wrangled the dogs and hung out upstairs and read for a bit. Brizo was having an attitude problem when she was in her bed. I sat and talked with Hailey for a long time upstairs and played with B. Sunshine left around 6 and dinner was ready a while later and it was beef shish kabobs that were soooo good, they were my favorite of the whole week. We also had rice and salad, then angel food cake for my birthday while we watched Aubrie's video on the big screen. Everyone got teary and it was a great video, especially the first part. I opened presents and cards and Kass got me some really cute shirts and Mom and Dad some $ and a Costco gift card. Dad put on Big with the new system and all the kids but me and Sky went to bed early and the adults stayed up too. Brizo and Castor stayed up with me and went to bed afterward.
Friday 7/31, Eric was up early for golf and helping then woke Skylar up and he was late so then Eric waited behind because Kassie refused to tell Skylar not to take his time. Ugh, I was so frustrated. I read a bit of HP and fell back asleep. Woke up a bit later and in for Mom's pancakes. All the girls got ready for the Lady Day in Leavenworth and we left the ranch at 11. We arrived around noon after getting messages from Kay-See and Jess that it was a no go for them coming over (K's steering went out the day before & Jess had family get together). We walked to Pavz and found the Moms and Grandmas seated and joined them then ordered. I called K to see if she wanted to ride over with Sunshine if she came - she didn't know. Kass and me shared a crepe for lunch and ate off others' plates then got the strawberry for dessert. We ditched the Moms and went to pet store where I got two little toys for the pups (little duck and hedgehog) since I hadn't brought any with me, much to Castor's disappointment. After that we ducked in and out of cute shops due to the heat, but I didn't buy anything else, though there was a lot of cute stuff. Aubrie got this body sparkle stuff all over me and Kassie, but mostly Kassie and it looked like she was sweating profusely. We went to gelato shop and flirted with the 6'5 1/2 baristo and tried to bait Aubs and I was encouraging it because he was so cute. We finally left town for the health food store, then Safeway and Kass ran in while we read FML on Hailey's phone. Lastly we hit Prey's for their bakery and Kass talked to Sunshine who decided to come and told her to call K, though I knew she probably would not come. Hurried back to the property, unloaded car and found all the boys back from golfing and down at the river. Castor was having a great time and I grabbed Brizo and suited up and went down to hang too. We were down there forever and it felt so good. Back up on the deck dinner was started and Sunshine showed up sans Kay-See. I went upstairs to read a bit then hung out on the deck, then dinner. We had grilled chicken, sour cream style potatoes, Kassie's salad, fruit salad, don't remember dessert; I may have been too full to care. We stayed up and hung around the fire again and eventually up to the loft for bed. Skylar read ghost stories and used Eric and me as mom and dad and he was the baby. I fell asleep as soon as the second ghost story started and when I woke up the lights were off and everyone was asleep.
Thursday 7/30, We didn't get up so early, took the dogs out then into the motorhome for french toast and had a couple pieces while chatting with Dad. Went up to shower and Mom asked if we wanted to go to Wenatchee so we got ready quickly and were off with Grandma. Mom and Grandma went into the administrative offices to get the permit filed and Aubs and I sat for a while then took a spin around the block. I told her to go into the juvenile detention center to tell Mom where we were going but she couldn't figure it out. After that we went to Gilded Lily and it was so cute and there were tons of things I wanted but I completely refrained. We started back to Plain with a stop at a burger and shake joint. We had chocolate milkshakes and fries to share and Aubrie was being play-irritating and making a mess and some family wouldn't stop looking at us. We were stuffed then took off with a stop at Prey's where Aubs and me fit each other's butts in our hands; hers is little, mine is not. Mom threatened to leave Aubrie because she was being annoying and dancing and singing all over the place with her honey stick. Back to the property and Hailey, Jan and Kelly had arrived and I was nervous about Brizo being traumatized but she was fine. I brought her down and she was all exited and running around and started trying to play with Lacey and it was hilarious. I was laughing so hard. We went up to have lunch (burgers) then went with Aubs and Hailey down to the swimming hole. Brad and Heidi showed up and eventually Sky and Kassie. When Aubrie and I walked back up to get something Brizo was running around like crazy and jumping over stuff and it was so funny we both couldn't stop laughing. She was making her breathing / panting noise as she ran past us and all around the lower yard. Eventually everyone trickled down to hang in the swimming hole and enjoy the sun: dogs, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, moms and dads, cousins. While we were down there people were asking where Eric was and I told them he wouldn't be there until the next night, but then all of a sudden he was there. A surprise showing which made me so happy. I walked up with him while he changed then back down to hang out on intertubes and air mattresses in the sun. I talked about Brizo some more and Ginger's and the Humane Society. Eventually everyone went up and dinner was started: pork roast, delicious potatoes, fruit, Auntie's wonderful salad. We ate around the fire and the bees were a nuisance, but not as bad as they would be by the end of the reunion. We had dilly bars for dessert and stayed up late. Kassie bought both Aubs and me some new Keen river shoes which were hilarious when Hailey tried mine on. We all went up to bed, everyone in the loft, lots of fun with mad libs and lots of laughing, especially at Aubrie's Vagina City.
Wednesday 7/29, We woke up (around 9?), got ready and went to get my oil changed down on Rainier but the guy told us to come back later because none of the staff had shown up yet. We went to Columbia City Bakery for treats then to the store for fruit and it was already so hot. Went back and got the oil changed and it was about 11 or so by the time we got out of there. It was getting hotter by the minute. At home we packed up our stuff and the dogs and set out for Plain. In Monroe we hit the DQ drive thru which made the ride truly more enjoyable. It was so much cooler on the other side, by 10 degrees, and arrived right behind dad who was coming back from Wenatchee with a new refrigerator for the garage. We went in the motorhome and had some snacks then helped dad unload the new fridge. It felt wonderful with the new ac upstairs. Castor made his way down to the river and we both lounged and read while Dad worked away. Mom came home with Grandma and Papa and we sat around talking about dogs and Brizo and Castor and rescue vs breed bought and I think I've got them on board for when they get a dog in the fall. Plus they want a little older, not a puppy, at my encouragement as well. Yes! News continued to trickle in that no one else was showing up that evening (Skylar hadn't booked his flight in time so he didn't come in until 8 that night). Heidi and Brad were hot and stuck due to a rock slide, Hailey had to work, Jan and Kelly didn't want to leave without Hailey, Eric wasn't there, nor Kay-See, Jess and Rose wasn't coming. Mom made burgers for dinner (she had 24 in anticipation of a large crowd) but there were only 6 of us. We had fun anyway and after dinner watched Just Like Heaven and it was cute but Aubrie and I made fun of the end. We went up to bed and read for a while then lights out.
Tuesday 7/28, I got off work early, went home and snagged Eric to go to the airport. We parked and went in and waited and saw Aubs as she came off the escalator and I made a funny face at her, but then wasn't sure if it was actually her because she just stared stony-faced at me, but it was and we laughed. We had a nice drive home, chatting, to drop off Eric and get ready to go out. We were ready pretty quick and I was dreading the drive into Seattle to meet Kassie because there was a Mariners game but Eric is so sweet, when we got downstairs to leave there was a sandwich and the chocolate covered fortune cookies on the counter - he'd made then in anticipation of a long drive into town. Hilariously, however, there was hardly any traffic. As we were making out way down to the market Aubs found a hair on my chin at a stop light and yanked it. Downtown we found a parking spot a few blocks down from the market and we walked down to Pink Door. We were seated on the patio and in a place that usually requires reservations, ooh. Kass arrived with Etta in tow and people couldn't believe there was a dog there and Kassie was like "Ain't no thang" and we got down to dinner. We had a nice dinner and though it was hot there was a semi-cool breeze from the water. We were all stuffed and headed out to Kassie's car and then over to the Space Needle. We walked around Seattle Center and wanted Etta to come up to the top but were informed that no dogs were allowed. Kass decided to go to Will's around the corner so Aubs and I bought tickets and posed for the cute red head for our Space Needle picture with the giant salmon. Aubrie told him she liked his shirt but I think he thought she was making fun of him. As we waited to go up in the elevator this kid kept touching Aubrie and me and we kept laughing and trying to discreetly avoid it. We went up and got a good view in the elevator and at the top it was so much cooler and beautiful. I wanted to get up there closer to sunset, but it didn't happen, we just missed it, though there was still some good color on the horizon. We walked around 3 or 4 times and took lots of pictures, and Aubrie was very talented with the telescopes. She got the moon and I took a pic that turned out pretty cool. She was looking in people's windows and it was pretty shocking what you could see. One of my favorites was the beautiful ship reflection. When we were looking at the moon from another one this German guy said he saw the man in the moon and we were like "Ok crazy guy" but then we looked again and he was right, there was a man shaped section kicking a soccer ball. We went inside and read the facts printed on the wall and eventually headed back down. We found the pic of us but it was not that great and we perused all the memorabilia and laughed and eventually headed out and called Kass and met up with her. We wanted dessert so we went to El Gaucho and had a weird waiter who acted like a jerk when we asked if the seats were real fur (they are - recycled though, which he failed to mention) so we were assigned another waiter, much better, who clarified to us the fur situation. I got cheesecake and they got bananas foster and it was good but we didn't stick around; out of there before midnight. Kass dropped us off at my car and we drove home, got ready for bed and passed out in the f-ing heat.
Monday 7/27, Off work a little early and home to the ac. On the way home talked to Kass who was excited that Jess was coming to dinner. Took the dogs out and it was so hot. Did some laundry and took my pants off. Waited for Jess to get there and she arrived around 5:30. We sat in the living room and talked and I opened my birthday present and put it on (Goldigga shirt) along with my orange shorts I left up at her Mom's last summer. I put them on together to make a hilarious outfit but Kassie didn't even catch on to the joke. Jess took pictures of all the dogs and called Brizo “Bistro” which made me laugh every time. Soon we were on our way over to Mom's. Jess and I sat outside talking for a long time about friends' bfs and such. Back inside we sat at the counter with Eric and had some baguette with parmesan and caramelized onion and I ate a bunch. Kass arrived and scolded Mom for putting olives on them because "Karrah hates olives" which I had told her earlier. It was funny. Then Alix picked hers off too. We had lots of funny conversation and had dinner, an Asian beef salad thing, then cake: angel food with blueberries and a lemon mousse. I found my bday presents after that and they were some nice plates. One with a rooster and the others were smaller burgundy with little rivet looking detail around the edges. We moved into the living room and I tried to sit to optimize the possibilities of Kassie seeing my shirt. Didn't work. We had fun talking about old times and travel and members of Alan's extended family. Dad talked to me about investing and real estate for a while then it was time to go. We had fun talking in the car on the ride home and Eric and Jessica couldn't stop laughing about Alix yelling at Mom when she said to use the Shaba Shaba sauce. "Mom!" like it was a bad word or ethnic slur. Jessica almost spit her food out several times while sitting next to Eric at the table. When we got home Jess came outside with me while I took the dogs out and we both laughed when Castor took a dump right on the neighbors back patio. I walked her up to her car and she said she'd let me know about Plain and river rafting. Went back inside and got everything ready then upstairs and took the ac and tried to cool down. It was so fing hot. I took a super cold shower and was hot again 3 minutes after getting out. Eric and I started getting into it over the dogs and I told him to be nice and knock it off. I was sick of his attitude. We eventually fell asleep with his arm over me.
Sunday 7/26, I had a vivid dream about Leonardo DiCaprio. He wanted to make out with me but I couldn't because I was with Eric and didn't want to hurt him. I really really wanted to though and had to rebuff several of his advances. I woke up a little after 9 and took the dogs out and fed them. Everyone was gone and I figured they must be on a walk. I read some of my book and got ready and showered and packed up so I would be ready to go later on. Breakfast took a while and wasn't really ready until 11:30 so we all sat down and ate and it was all good. I loaded up the car shortly after and said my goodbyes and hit the road. Traffic was much better than the week prior and I shaved about 20 minutes off my time and made it all the way home without stopping for gas. I called Eric and he expressed his frustration with the dogs and I told him to chill out and it would all be fine. When I got home the house was spotless and the ac was running and it felt really nice in there. I met the neighbor’s new foster, a cute little poodle looking schnauzer mix (who turned out to be someone’s dog that got put in the wrong area of the shelter). We hung out in the living room for a long time and talked and after feeding all 4 dogs went to get gas then stopped at Tully's where I got stuff I shouldn't have and didn’t even drink all of my mango and crème smoothie. Off to the store next and we were out of there quickly and home. More of the same with hanging out and I read a bunch on the couch. When it was time for bed it was so hot upstairs so Eric slept downstairs for most of the night with the ac and I toughed it out with the dogs. A phone call from AL that woke me up and several barking sessions later I was finally asleep, then Eric came up in the middle of the night. It was a shitty night's sleep any way you dice it.
Saturday 7/25, I didn't sleep very well but did sleep in, until 9:30. I got up and took the dogs out and they were both good and the neighbors wanted to know what Castor was and that his coat was beautiful. I fed them and went to find everyone on the deck. I indicated that I wanted my french toast and me and Dad went in and he made me three pieces. It was a good batch. We chit chatted then I took the dogs out again and eventually went upstairs and took a shower and Mom asked if I wanted to go to Wenatchee so I finished up, got ready, took the dogs out again and told them to be good, separately, since Brizo would stay inside and Castor would be out and about with Dad, and took off. We stopped at a big antique mall in Cashmere and I wanted to buy a couple things but didn't because I'm trying to save. We arrived in Wenatchee and went to the Applewood Grill for lunch and I got a steak and brie panini that was less than thrilling. Oh well. We had a lot to talk about. Next we cruised through downtown and ended up on the other side of the river due to ridiculous GPS directions. We went to Safeway then the dollar store and then over to the mall to Ross. I got Brizo a new blanket (baby blanket - had to be a girly one according to Mom) and a shirt that says ‘Save the Planet’ that Mom said looks like a boy shirt because it's gray. She wanted to get her a pink dress with sequins, a flower and pearl and lots of ruffles. I told her we could start small with the t-shirt. We left and headed back, stopping at the antique store to pick up the poker and then home. Brizo was so excited to see me and no accidents, yay! Castor was on the lawn while Dad mowed around him and just looked so content. I went upstairs and read for a while and relaxed then put Brizo's new shirt on and laughed manically when she kind of walked around in it and ran and chased me. I took her down to show everyone and ended up sitting on the floor in the motorhome while we all talked for a long time and Mom tried to get Brizo to come over to her and got her to let her pet her which was a first. I went back upstairs and read and soon dinner was ready. We had grilled chicken that was to die for, twice baked potatoes, huge fruit salad and caprese salad. I ate a lot. Then the girls went inside and Castor stayed out with the boys and soon we could hear Mark's voice and he had come over with his fiancée / baby mama. We sat outside and talked forever, retold the train story, talked about kids and jobs and his Dad. I got Brizo and he wanted to hold her and I finally reluctantly let him and she started trying to jump and wriggling before I could stand back up so I took her back and she sat in my lap while we talked around the fire. They stayed for over an hour and finally had to get back. I said good night shortly after and went up to read HP and fell asleep. Ahh.
Friday 7/24, I was home early and took the opportunity to pack, make the bed in the guest room, put a few things away and get ready to leave. Eric arrived with Duke and Anu because he will be watching them for the next week. I didn't hang around long and was soon on my way slightly before 5. I went the back way and it took me forever to get to Monroe, though it was much prettier. I talked to Mom for almost all of it about Peggy's place and the things she wants to do with it. I called Mom and Dad and let them know where I was and cruised the rest of the way. There was a bit of rain which was surprising. When I arrived I let the dogs out and said hi and dinner was started. We sat inside, with Castor, and had pork chops, potatoes and carrots. It was very good then Deb and Don showed up and we sat and talked for the rest of the evening and I got Brizo toward the end to introduce her. I read for a while before going to sleep, probably around 11:30 or midnight.
Thursday 7/23, I got off work at 4:15 and took the dogs home and fed them then took off for my 5:00 PT appt. Eric called after being incommunicado all day and said he was coming up and I was really happy. He said we'd figure dinner out. I really like Lisa and I think everything is helpful but I don't want to go anymore because of the $$. Maybe one more after the fam reunion. When I got home Eric was in full swing making dinner and the guac was already done and I ate a bunch. We had ground turkey soft tacos that were so good and Eric concocted his own seasoning and added a bunch of red and green peppers. We watched tv and I played on my computer. I really didn't want to go to Neighbs but I knew Susan really wanted to and Eric was encouraging me to go and reminded me how much fun I used to have going there. I barely got ready and wore the same thing I wore to work and just redid my hair. No new makeup, I'm sure I looked meh. I packed a few things for Plain and took Castor out and was out the door by 10:30. Susan and Chris M*lally were already waiting so we gathered our things and headed in. Chris stayed on the sidelines in the beginning and Susan and I checked out the crowd and looked for our regulars, though the trannies were the only ones. Finally Chris started dancing with us and he is soo funny (and cute) he was cracking me up with his dance moves and trying to imitate our dance moves. I gave him some real dandys to try and copy, which he surprisingly did. Some confident guy in a white shirt came right in and tried to dance with me and I was like "Ohhh, um, no thank you" and slowly, but firmly, pushed his chest back and away from me. Chris was like "He was very Latin!" and I was like "Or Middle Eastern!" He sure knew what he wanted and how to go after it. Too bad it's not what I wanted. We were sweating up a storm and dancing our hearts out. Two cute tall blonde boys came, separately, and I was like "Oh yeah!" and Susan was like "They've got to be 18" and I was like "So am I!" Fun! They were very pretty to look at. A dumb drag show started at 12:15 and Chris asked us if he should go check to see how long the show would be and came back down and told us 20 minutes so we were like "Should we just leave?" and Chris was like "Yeah, lets go, come on, let's just take off" and like pushing our backs so then I made fun of him, like running for the door to get out of there. He's funny. On the way to the car we talked about jobs and the weather and how I had to get out of porn and am now a cow. I said bye and drove home to find Brizo so excited then she snuggled up in Castor's blanket.
Wednesday 7/22, Everyone left early before I was up. Got home and Eric confirmed no go with his Mom and the dogs, Alix basically confirmed no as well. Talked to Sos then Susan then Sos then Kay-See for plans and stuff. Meeting Sos at 6 so we let the dogs out and fed them and took off for her house. She had made a basket for Eric as a thank you then we were off to Tutta Bella. Jake and Sos treated and we had an appetizer and dessert and lots of interesting conversation and laughing and a few too many swear words for the family of five at the table next door. We went back to their house and talked for a long time about healthcare and politics and finally we hit the road shortly before 9. I did my exercises and took the dogs out when we got home. Finally got to read in bed for a little bit before turning in.
Tuesday 7/21, Was awoken by a very amorous Eric and eventually let him have his way. Showered and climbed back into bed and fell asleep for 45 minutes then up. Brizo had an accident at work, thank god it was on the mat by the door, then another one, but not by the door. Bah. Still a ways to go. Rushed home and dropped the dogs and did a few things around the house and left with Eric hopping into the shower. Stopped at the pet store and got some new food then off to PT. Good session, lots of massage. Ahh. Rushed home and Mom and Dad were just leaving to get some seltzer so I talked to Eric and took the dogs outside and they were back. Eric was in full swing making dinner and it was sooo hot out. He left the door open several times and I could feel it getting hotter and hotter. We sat down and had a nice dinner and Eric did a great job and there was lots of talking and more evidence that I'm my father's daughter. After dinner we drove to look at the house and neighborhood that I like and Mom said it reminded her of Everett with the view and all. We drove around there for a long time then headed to DQ but the line was literally out the door so we went across to Baskin Robbins and it was way less packed. Eric was making some racial jokes and Mom was dying. Dad asked if I'd ever had ice cream at a Chinese restaurant - apparently no good. We sat down with our ice cream and told funny stories about being kids. Mom's were the funniest / saddest. We went home and I took the dogs out and Eric cleaned up and Mom and Dad wanted to go to bed so I made sure they had everything then we got ready for bed and Castor was so hot we got him in the shower to cool him off then fell asleep.
Monday 7/20, Peggy wasn't feeling good at 3:30 and asked me to take her to the dr and the freeways were green but by the time we got to the bridge there was this awful 6 car pile up about 50 yards away. It was awful. Finally got to the dr, checked out and back onto the freeway where we made the mistake of taking the carpool lane because they fucking blocked one of the lanes so it took us over an hour to get back. I was supposed to get off work early that day and here I was getting off 45 minutes late. I grabbed the dogs and rushed home to find Eric cleaning furiously. I took the dogs out and he had already done their dinner and vacuumed and cleaned and taken books upstairs and put the bed back together and loads of laundry and changed all the sheets on the beds. It was great. Thank goodness for him. I started doing some stuff but I was hungry so I ran to Costco for a pizza (tomato, mozza and basil - delish) and picked up some blueberries and a new Brizo bed to boot. Back home and threw the pizza in and called Sos and checked fb and all that. So tired. Ate dinner while watching the shows then kept cleaning and organizing then, of course, Brizo peed on the carpet and I had to take 15 minutes to properly clean that up, then my exercises, then the dogs out again, then ready for bed and finally into bed for Harry Potter. Eric wanted to get friendly, but I told him I wanted to read. He went downstairs to watch his 10 o’clock shows.
Sunday 7/19, Woke up by 8 and was the last one up. Took Brizo out and found out Eric had taken Castor for a walk and Dad was working on setting out where the garage is going to go. Went in and had juice with Mom and got ready because we were going to go to the store for some sugar. The boys decided they were going to come too and look at stuff at the hardware store. On our way out we decided instead to go to Squirrel Tree for breakfast instead. We had a filling breakfast and the people watching was pretty good. After breakfast we went down some country roads and looked at properties and drop off spots for the raft and I think found a good one. Saw the airport, just grass - felt like Belize. Finally we made it to the hardware store and looked around and then it was back home. I started packing up and we got the car loaded and the pups went out one last time and we said bye to Mom and Dad and they mentioned they would be coming over Tuesday evening to stay at my place before Dad went to SLC. We pulled out at 12:30 and drove straight back but hit major traffic. Ugh. Arrived home a little after 3. Straight into the shower, dogs out, ate a half pbj sandwich and we were on our way down to Des Moines for Jack's bday party. We arrived and it was an enormous party. I don't even have that many friends, how does a one-year old? We sat down with Ryan and Kelby and got some food and it was all super good bbq fare and then Michael sat down with us and we all talked. It was really hot out. It was fun and we were there until after 6 then headed home and took the dogs out and fed them and relaxed. I started cleaning and putting stuff away and organizing and the girls next door gave me a brownie and a piece of pie and invited me over but I couldn't because I was trying to get shit done so I politely declined. While I was organizing Brizo took a terrible dump on the carpet where the pee pads usually are but Eric moved them, Arrrrrhhhh! I finally got him off his butt and helping me because she then started scooting her ass allll over the carpet and I was freaking the fuck out trying to clean it off the floor and get her into the bathroom all at the same time. Situation handled and eventually into bed but exhausted and to sleep.
Saturday 7/18, We started stirring at the same time and I asked Eric if he was still mad and he said no. He took the dogs out and I watched from the bathroom window and told him to praise Brizo after she went. Then I laughed at him. It was a little after 8. We got dressed and headed into Plain to get coffee. Eric bought me a peach scone and we wandered around the store looking at stuff and finally headed back. We got almost everything out of the garage and Eric got to work mowing and weed whacking and I went back upstairs to read and enjoy the coolness. The dogs and I fell asleep then Eric was done and went for a dip. When he came back up he saw the tractor was being delivered so he went out to help the guy, it was 12:30 and he was out there until 2. We waited and waited for Dad to arrive and finally at 3:10 I drove to the store and called them on the way and they told me they wouldn't be there for a while. I got some snacks and headed back and broke the news. We sat and listened to Martin tell story after story about his travels and the motels he stays in. It was fairly painful. They finally arrived at 4:45 and we couldn't be happier. Dad got everything straightened and I hung with Mom and introduced Brizo and finally we were all settled and we decided on burgers for dinner. Eric got em going and we finally sat down and they were delicious. We talked and ate then went on a walk with Castor but soon the mosquitoes were awful and we headed back and were being eaten alive. We started a fire after dinner and ate dilly bars and looked at a map to plot our trip to MN. We all sat around the campfire for a long time and eventually went up to bed around 10:30.
Friday 7/17, No throwing up in the middle of the night! However, on the ride to work there was a little and on our morning walk. Went home and started packing and fed the dogs so their stomachs would have plenty of time to mellow before we left. I talked to Dad and Susan and maybe someone else as I was getting ready. I showered and was pretty much done by the time Eric arrived. I had a little dinner and we started loading up the car. He was going to bring his big bag and I questioned it so he switched and then he was in a bad mood for the rest of the night. We drove to Plain, with a stop at DQ, in relative silence, except when he'd get mad at Castor for drooling on him. We arrived and the mosquitoes were somewhat bad so we stayed inside but it was sooo hot. We opened all the windows and it still took over an hour for it to cool down in there. I took the dogs out and climbed into bed and read a little Harry Potter (Half Blood Prince, reading again because I forgot what happens) and went to sleep. Eric was already passed out.
Thursday 7/16, Brizo threw up in the middle of the night again, for the third night in a row, so I made a vet appt at 6. After work was interesting: work errand, over to Sos' to drop off the dogs, rush to PT appointment with more exercises and massage, rush to vet appointment to find Eric and Brizo in the room. Eric and I had different stories so we came together in the middle then he left to go take Castor home. Dr thinks she has an acid stomach and suggested feeding her closer to bedtime to bridge the gap between feedings so she won't have bile running amok in her stomach. Plus there may still be stomach ulcers from the trauma she experienced in the mill. That took an hour then it was home where Eric had just arrived as well after taking Castor to the lake to play. I noticed the piano and hutch in the garage and I love that hutch. It would have been perfect in that house, wahhh. I was starving so I took the dogs out and we got ready to leave and went to Chipotle for dinner. We sat outside and had a really nice time chatting and eating. We talked about why Lena hates me and Eric thinks it's the drinking. We went home and relaxed and I finished a magazine then Eric and I got into a snit about JK Rowling and he thinks the media blows everything up, but my point was that you can't blow something up if it wasn't an interesting story to begin with. We didn't see eye to eye so I went upstairs, but he apologized first. I was up there for a while then went downstairs and he was asleep. I did a few things and eventually took the dogs out and back in to shower and go to bed. I read a Glamour for a while then out.
Wednesday 7/15, Brizo peed on the carpet on the stairs in the morning and she had just been out pooping and I thought to myself that I jinxed it because I told Dad the prior night how well it was going. Arg. Off work a little early and home to find Eric taking a shower. I sat down to relax on the couch with a bag of bbq potato chips and a magazine only to look up and see Brizo squatting on the carpet in front of the fireplace. Son of a! I rushed her outside and left her out there while I cleaned up; Eric helped too. We sat on the couch talking and I read my magazine and he suggested later we should go to Luther Burbank so I could see the dog parks. I eventually ate dinner and we left not too long after and left Easy Breezy home. Eric was getting fresh as we were prepping to leave and also in the car. At the park Castor ran right for the water and was in for a good half hour, running and chasing sticks and sniffing other dogs. We roped him in and walked to the west most part of the park which I haven't been to in probably 15 years. It's so quiet and beautiful down there. We meandered back and I shared all my memories of the park with him, especially walking down the dirt road next to the field with the sun setting during summer. I think I was with Tom J, or Robin. We stopped at QFC then home and Eric had some dinner and we watched a little tv. I went upstairs to enjoy the quiet. I took the dogs out and got ready for bed then Eric was all frisky and I was less than in the mood and it showed. We got into a long discussion and I cried a little and felt bad for how I feel and frustrated because I don't know what's wrong with me. We talked for a while more then he was persistent so we got down to it and it was good, except for the end, but I'm not writing that on here, except that it took me by surprise and that he apologized and we made jokes about it in the shower and until we went to sleep.
Tuesday 7/14, Took Peggy over to W. Seattle and was home by 3. Watched some murder mystery show then at 4 took the dogs up to the park and walked around and went up into the meadow. Having fantastic streak with the potty training. We were home by 5 and Susan decided to come over so we sat and talked in the living room for a few hours. I ate the last of the biscuits and gravy then wanted an apple but both from the farmers market were bad so I made popcorn. I was very snacky. We watched WoF and Jeopardy like the old days and got most of the kid's Jeopardy answers correct. She left at 8 after traffic had cleared up and I cleaned up a little and went upstairs and read then my computer's left speaker went out and that irritated me so I turned the music off. I called Dad and talked to him and Mom about plans and the chips she wants K to bring. Continued reading and got into bed and was out by 10:30.
Monday 7/13, Peggy sent me out on an errand and when I was in the store Brizo chewed on my center console then puked on the way back. Great. I went to my appointment for my neck and the girl (Lisa) gave me some exercises to do and worked on it and felt around a lot. Eric didn't have time to get the dogs so they were still in the car when I was done. I went home and he had already gone to the store to get stuff for dinner and had already started on the tater tot casserole. It took a while but he had all these new ideas and by the time it was done it was soooo good. I had three helpings and felt disgusting but I couldn't stop eating it. Mmm. Eric cleaned up and we watched tv then upstairs and he sent off some emails and I tried to figure out what the problem with the wireless was and called Comcast who were no help. Figured out the next day that "default" is guy on guy, apparently, but not named that anymore. Weird. We laid in bed together and Eric started getting amorous and it turned out very well and was super hot. Crashed out.
Sunday 7/12, I got up and going and was eating breakfast when Lena called for directions then called K to see where she was. I needed to get going so I got dressed and ready and K was there first. Lena showed up and we took off for Little Si. We had Nellie and Castor in tow and headed up. Lots of talking and it was a little chilly but we stayed warm by busting ass up the mountain. At the top we took some pictures but then the wind started to kick up and the rain started so we headed back down, excited at the prospect of breakfast. We were trying to take a picture and my camera dropped on a rock and the screen cracked. Lena felt really bad but I told her not to worry about it and that the camera still worked. We did the round trip in two hours. Headed to Twede's and put in our orders and waited, somewhat patiently. Breakfast came and there was so much it was insane and so good. I ate almost all mine then took home the leftover biscuits and gravy from the girls for Eric. We went to the bakery next door and I got a cookie then we went back to my place and they left. Eric had been cleaning and shopping and doing laundry which was insanely helpful. It looked good. I quickly showered and got ready and took off to take Brizo for her appointment. She had some boosters and her ears are a lot better. When I got home Eric and I both took a nap because we were both exhausted. The dogs napped too. We went into Issaquah so I could scout Olympic PT then over to Brown Bear where Eric helped me wash the seats and vacuum out the car. We went home and I ate leftovers while we watched tv and relaxed. Didn't do much else that night.
Saturday 7/11, Eric got up early and took the dogs to Luther Burbank and when he got home I got up and he started making breakfast. He made a delicious scramble with feta, spinach and mushrooms along with roasted potatoes. It was really good. We went to the farmer's market and looked around and I found the painter that I love and she told me she's still working on the goat and to email her. Also, some things on display at the gallery. I decided not to go into Seattle to see Susan because there was a Sounder's game and decided instead to go see Bruno with Eric and Jake instead. Eric and I went to the gallery first to check out the new paintings in the window and agreed we didn't like the ferns but the rest of each painting was good. Picked Jake up and hit the movie; it was ok, over the top, but a couple really funny parts. It was so hot when we got out, dropped Jake off and agreed to go to Josh's together in a little bit. We went home and got ready to go to Josh's and about a half hour later Sos and Jake showed up so we left. When we arrived some of Lena's friends were there that I didn't care for. She had a poodle and said she paid $1,000 for it and it was probably from a puppy mill but she didn't really care and then the poor dog had a bum leg from some hip problem and the surgery would be $2,000 but she wouldn't pay it, so the dog just limps around while she carries some Vuitton purse or whatever. Ugh. Plus she wouldn’t let her dog out when it clearly had to go to the bathroom because she has him “on a schedule” and will only take him out when she deems appropriate. Sos had to give him water too because she was too oblivious to see he was thirsty. Sometimes I want to shoot people. Or just take their dogs away. I was over her and steered clear the rest of the night. I called K to see where she was and she headed over. Hung out and when K got there we went outside to chat and I heard about A and all that good gossip. Finally had some dinner and that was good and the fights started and I wasn't a fan but watched anyway. I called Kass after the GSP fight and she had it on pause and was waiting for Skylar. We talked about her business and the house I wanted and the dogs and training. I went back in and we watched the Brock fight and packed up our stuff after hanging a little more and headed out, making plans with Lena for a hike the next morning. We drove home talking about mothering tactics. Eric and I stayed up for a little while after taking the dogs out and went to bed.
Friday 7/10, Sos called during the day to see if I wanted to come by after work for a bbq and that Josh and Lena would be there and she was also inviting Keemy, Carmen, Kay-See and Chrystol and Schuyler. I had to stay late to let in the chef preparing dinner for Peggy so I was at work til 6:30. Ugh. I raced home with the pups, we fed them and let them out and talked with our neighbors for a few minutes then hit the road back into Issaquah. Tim and the Rusts were there when we arrived and dinner was in the midst. We sat outside and talked forever and finally Keem and Carmen arrived and soon dinner was served. The curry apple dogs were delicious and I want more! We all ate a ton then it was time for dessert and Tim had brought a dozen cupcake royales and Sos made chocolate chip cookies to make ice cream sandwiches with. We stayed until about 10 then went home to the dogs who were excited. Took them out and headed up to bed.
