Monday 10/31, Eric got up and did my breakfast but we didn't say anything to each other and he went back to bed in the middle bedroom. I got an email later in the morning that he'd been called into work but that the soup was done. Bah. I got off a little early, rushed home, got the dogs situated, which included cleaning up anal gland goo over and over. Eff. Called Mom to try and figure out if there was anything I could do. I did my short work out, let the dogs out, Nyx wouldn't stop barking at the neighbor dog, fed the dogs, looked outside and C&S had arrived. Fuuuuuck! Great, I'm still in my non-flattering work out gear. I let them in and they marveled at my poster collection. Maybe "laughed" is a better word. We went through them then I hopped in the shower quickly. They also admired my work out gear. Yikes. Got dinner going and soon we were dishing up and sitting in the living room ready to watch "Ernest Scared Stupid". We had some laughs but agreed it is a terrible movie. We also agreed Ernest is Tye Pennington's dad. Just watch it, you'll get it. Eric was home by 9:30 and we sat and talked for a little bit. We got a lot of trick or treaters and one kid was like "We ignored the sign; we came for our candy!" (sign said “Keep Out”). It was fun. There was a group of high school age-ish asian kids who were peeking in the front window so I went and asked how old were they, like 18? Only two of them, of a group of about 12, wanted candy after that. As they were scurrying away I joked to not peep in other people’s windows. C&S took off at about 10 and I went to get ready for bed and saw a card. Eric wrote some very nice things and we talked for a minute in the living room before I got into bed. I was tired and went to sleep not long after.
Sunday 10/30, I didn’t wake up until about 8:30 and looked at stuff until 9:15, got up and dressed then we took off to get Eric’s car. When we got home Eric made me pancakes. Eric and I got into a huge fight in the evening about money and all that. I thought he was going to sleep out on the couch but he came in in the middle of the night. Don’t remember the rest.
Saturday 10/29, I really don’t have any recollection of what I did this day. I think Eric and I did a few things around the house and maybe went up to Ace for supplies, but I don’t remember. I know I talked to AL briefly to wish her a happy birthday and also that it’s the anniversary of Grandma dying. Stayed up late to watch SNL? Who can remember?
Friday 10/28, I rushed home knowing I didn't have much time to squeeze in my workout and a shower before going to Peter and Stefanie's. I was pumped up and excited it was Friday. My new Ryan Gosling poster showed up so I unpacked and admired it. Eric fed the dogs and got ready himself while I did my long workout. I felt good, showered and we were out the door running 10 minutes late. Luckily traffic wasn't horrendous, but not great either. We arrived and Kristel was already there. We chatted then sat down and Peter brought out the ox tail soup. First time, and surprisingly delicious. If I could just get over the name. Next was steak with potatoes and some veggie, I can't remember. It was excellent. I was stuffed. We talked and talked and talked. We were there until almost 11. It was a lot of fun. Stef made a dessert called Torte de something (Fernando, actually it was Santiago). I had two pieces. We had a great time and took off. At home we let the dogs out and sat and cuddled with them for a little bit, separately, then off to bed.
Thursday 10/27, I got home and Eric had plans to go to Sky’s but traffic was so bad he was going to hang out for a while. Kristel arrived and we fed the dogs and talked about her new car and trip to OR. We took off for the store to get snacks and hot dog supplies. I bought a lot of stuff and when we got home we got to work getting it all ready. I put the dogs away, called Dad to wish him a happy birthday and put on Pirates of the Caribbean to finish it up. I think she liked it. When it was over I went to take the dogs out and there was shit all over the den and Kristel was like “I have to go!” and left. I called Eric and talked to Chrystol about what was happening. I took a picture to show him then started the clean up. It was disgusting; anal gland liquid, I believe. Ick. Eric got home late and I think I was already asleep when he got home.
Wednesday 10/26, I think I walked the dogs around the block after I got home, maybe Eric joined me. We took it easy for the night and watched our shows. Don’t remember what else. I think my legs were really sore from my workout.
Tuesday 10/25, I think I did my workout since I’d skipped it through the weekend and the day before. Had to bump it up to level two. Ouch. I went home after work and checked email and said hi to Eric before heading out to go to Susan’s. She gave me a heads up that traffic was bad (because the viaduct was closed for demo) so I went up Massachusetts then down MLK Jr. Made pretty good time. We chatted in her place for a few minutes then walked up to Jamjuree for dinner. We waited for a table and talked until we ordered. Susan thought she saw an ex, but changed her mind. We ate and it was very good then Sean called to say he was ready early, which never happens! We wrapped it up, walked to Safeway and talked about my Ryan Gosling obsession. We walked back to her place and off I went. Found decent parking and Sean was waiting. We talked quite a bit about the wedding then the conversation meandered to other subjects. It was one of the funnest haircuts I’ve had yet. We were laughing through the whole thing. He cut it short, maybe the shortest yet, but what a great cut. I walked back to my car and headed home. Eric liked my hair and I sat in bed and did stuff for a while then to bed.
Monday 10/24, I think I skipped my workout. I went and got one more frame after work and when I got home I put the last Radiohead poster in the frame, but didn’t get around to hanging it. Eric was working late as usual so I fended for myself that evening. I watched most of DwtS I believe. Went to bed early probably.
Sunday 10/ 23, I had a dream that I was on some movie set of Ryan Gosling’s and some girl that I was with kind of knew him and we were extras but we were missing the lab coats that were needed for the scene so she asked him and he gave me his. There was a camera in the pocket and when I looked at the pictures they were pictures of ME! He was so enamored with me that he had been taking pictures of me throughout the day on set without me even noticing! I was so excited and shocked. I woke up practically laughing. It was hilarious. Crazy dreams. Eric got up with the dogs and I checked fb and all that from bed. I got up, had some cereal, got dressed, asked Eric if he wanted to stain the doors when I got back from my oil change and he was less than thrilled but said ok and I took off for Rainier. I got my oil changed and they did it in record time. I was home by 10:30 and Eric had already started. I jumped in and helped by vacuuming and using the tack cloth on a few more spots then we started with the oil. It went pretty quickly then I peeled the final tape off the threshold before putting everything away. I took the painters tape off next while Eric watched his game. I offered to go get lunch but he didn’t want anything. I puttered around and started pulling out all my old posters from high school/college/after college. Eric made a fried egg sandwich while I unearthed all my old treasures. The tie for the best finds were the Batman and Robin poster (circa Val Kilmer’s Batman) and the Jonathan Brandis Sea Quest DSV poster that used to hang above my bed at the old MI house when I was a freshman in hs. I continued unrolling and unrolling and finally started to flatten out the Radiohead ones on the dining room table and I probably have 12 different RH posters. Eric left while I was in the middle of it. I took off not much later to go to Mom’s because she had laid out my kitchen on her design program and wanted to show me her plan. I was ok with it but didn’t love it. We played around with two other ideas but didn’t come to any final conclusions. I left when it was almost 5 and went to Fred Meyer and picked up some frames for some of the posters. Mom called when I was on my way so I talked with her while I drove there and while looking at frames, then talked to Dad and when I hung up I picked them up (only 3, didn’t have a fourth in the style I wanted) and went and got birthday cards for Dad and AL. Headed home, put the first two posters in frames, fed the dogs, did the third, hammered the hooks in, hung them up in the back hallway, hung my latest picture collage that’s just been sitting by the bed and lastly my “El Corazon” piece. I sat down to relax and soon Eric was home. He had to run so I was on my own for dinner. I cleaned up the kitchen after he left then updated this while checking in on the laundry. Felt good to get some stuff done finally.
Saturday 10/22, We were up by 7:30ish and got up with the dogs and fed them. I halfway got back in bed, and called Mom to see if we were still on for our outing and confirmed 9:30. Eric left to go to the store and pick up some things, I got ready and was in the middle of doing my hair when Mom arrived. I had a bowl of cereal after Eric came back and soon Mom and I were on our way to Northwest Nurseries where they were having a sale and I got some David Eye for the front bed but nothing else. Next we went to T&L and I scored. I got some chartreuse colored rocky something or other for the front beds, then the cutest chocolate mimosa silk tree and lastly three huge dahlias they were just going to toss. Yay! I called Eric to tell him we were coming back with plants and he told me he didn’t have to work until 4. Yes! We took side roads back because we had a full load. Eric met us outside when we pulled up and immediately started planting. He got everything in then started pruning the hydrangea and twisty baby in the courtyard. Mom and I measured the house and interior spaces for her design program. She left not long after and I tried to talk Eric into going to an estate sale with me but he wouldn’t budge. He wanted me to go so I finally did even though I wanted to take a nap instead. The sale (in West Seattle) was a complete bust and the only piece I was really interested in must have already sold. I left and decided to go to The House and meandered over. They had quite a bit, but nothing I was even remotely tempted to get. I drove home and contemplated going to see Drive. I watched the last two episodes of Project Runway online then fed the dogs and nixed the movie. I made some dinner, talked to Mom, talked to Kassie about Aubrie’s birthday, bought Aubrie some cds, hung up with Kass, finally found the Drive poster I’ve been looking everywhere for and it’s a big one, then Aubrie called back and we talked for a long time. Eric came home and when he found out I was talking to Aubs he told me to hang up and it was time for bed. She was like, “Ok, bye!” and I told her we didn’t have to listen to him. We did some more chatting and finally SNL came on so we hung up and I watched about half, even though it was a repeat.
Friday 10/21, I was very happy it was Friday and had talked Eric into agreeing to see Midnight in Paris and told him to call S&C to go too. They were busy. We sat and talked for a while on the couch then decided to take off. Traffic was terrible but we made it with plenty of time to get good seats. Eric was being very sweet and really liked the movie and laughed a lot so that was good. We left and went down to Pike Place to go to the Steelhead Diner for dessert. Took a little while to find parking and had to park a ways out. I got the cheesecake and Eric got the sundae. We should have just split the sundae which I loved. I ate a bunch of it. We walked back to the car and I groaned because I was so stuffed. I had popcorn at the movie so I felt disgusting. At home I showered and Eric had candles lit all over the room and the classical playing (since our new regimen is to leave it on for the dogs) so it was very sweet. We messed about and went to bed after. It was after 1:00am.
Thursday 10/20, Decided to take the day off from my workout because I was still sore. I saw Eric only for a couple minutes when I got home from work because he was going to Schuyler’s for the night and he had picked me up a pizza which was so sweet. Yum, veggie, my favorite! After he left I walked the dogs and fed them then put the pizza in. I had 2.5 pieces and put the rest away. I may have listened to my Drive soundtrack but I don’t remember. The Thursday shows were on but they were all reruns. I was distracted looking at something online or something because I was only half watching the shows. Went to bed with all the dogs up with me on the bed (except Lucia) so when Eric came home there was pandemonium. Didn’t sleep very well.
Wednesday 10/19, Worked out before work; feeling a little sore in my right arm. When I got home I walked the dogs again, which I’m trying to do every day. I talked Eric into going up the Halloween store so we took off not long after the dog walk. I only got a bat because nothing was speaking to me and Eric wasn’t helping me make any decisions and kept saying we didn’t need anymore stuff. At home we each heated up our pasta then got ready for Modern Family and Suburgatory or whatever, which is a show Eric likes apparently. Went to bed not long after our shows were over.
Tuesday 10/18, I worked out in the morning. When I got home I walked Lucia then Clancy and Nyx. Eric was making dinner for a good part of the night. We put on I Heart Huckabees and Eric loved it even though he’s already seen it. It’s got everything he’s totally into right now. After the movie I cleaned up the kitchen, took the dogs out and got ready for bed. I read a little then went to sleep.
