Thursday 2/28, Eric had some event down at UW about mapping and standardized testing and the problems and all that. I heated up some dinner from a few nights prior. I relaxed with all the dogs and watched tv while doing something that I now can’t remember. Eric came home late-ish and I was tired and ready for bed. We chatted for a few minutes then I went to sleep.

Wednesday 2/27, When I got home Eric wasn’t there so I took the dogs out and was trying to get ready for our trip down to Maple Valley for the HV. Eric showed up with a greasy bag and told me he’d gotten us dinner from the new Greek / Mediterranean place up the street. He got me a lamb gyro and some fries. I ate about half of mine and saved the rest for another day. It was pretty good, but probably not as good as Garlic Crush. We rounded up the dogs, loaded Teko into the car and took off. I’m not going to go into all the details, but the HV didn’t go well. Most of all the woman seemed checked out and her dogs were just too much for Teko and there wasn’t enough consistent (or any) intervention on her part to reign in her dogs from being too rough with Teko. We left and when we got into the car Eric goes, “I don’t want to keep her, but she sure as hell isn’t living here!”. We talked about it on the way home and I was groaning because now a denial has to go out and she’s a past adopter and goes to the NR events, etc. I called Genie right when we got home and went over everything with her. After hanging up I filled out the HV form, wrote an email to Janell explaining everything and waited for the responses to come in. Janell had to strategize and worked with Genie on a plan. We watched Modern Family, I showered and got into bed. I was exhausted and so was Teko.

Tuesday 2/26, I got home and showered in preparation for my evening with Kristel. Eric had been rearranging the den and I was irritated but then as I showered I realized he’s the only one who spends time in the den and if he wants to rearrange it and doesn’t consult me, that’s ok. When I was finished getting ready he asked me to come in and look at the room then showed me the Danish mid-century modern assymetrical desk that was Alan’s father’s, which he had painted the edges of white and done a design on the corner. I almost shit. I told him the room looked good but I did not like the desk. I didn’t tell him why because I didn’t want him to feel bad. He has no idea about that piece. He said he can sand it off. Things were fine by the time I I headed into Seattle. No traffic. We decided to go to Cal’s down by Amazon and we both got the burger. We spent a few hours talking and bitching about our bfs. We got the apple pie dessert thing and all the food was very good. We finished up and headed back to her house, where we laid on the floor and continued to talk for 45 minutes. I headed home and made it there just after 10. Went to bed.

Monday 2/25, I did a few things when I got home but basically got into bed early and watched Bachelor.

Sunday 2/24, Eric was up early and eventually came back in and got the dogs up. It allowed me to stay in bed. He came in around 8:30 to tell me he was going up to the French bakery and was going to get me a pastry; he came back with a marionberry Danish. I stayed in bed most of the morning reading. I got up at 10:30 and got ready. Eric left by 11 to go meet Sky and Mom called at 11:30 to catch up and give me a real estate climate update. I took off at 12:15 for Queen Anne to meet Josh and Shivani for lunch at Roti. Found parking easily and went in and met them. They took care of the ordering which was fine by me. Everything was really good and it was a really nice lunch. Shivani is so nice and really gorgeous. They seem to be doing really well. We walked out together, said bye and I headed home. Continued with my book and alternated napping. All the dogs joined me. Eric called at 5:30 to say he was on his way home. I got up at 6 and jumped into the shower. He fed the dogs and made me dinner when he got home. I talked to Genie about Teko’s app and she was lukewarm on it but is passing it to the HV step. I finished my book after I got off the phone and got ready for bed by 10. Took the dogs out and got into bed. Updated this and went to bed.

Saturday 2/23, Eric was up early and out of the house. I got up around 7:45, took the dogs out and fed them, ate some breakfast and got dressed. I went and got gas then decided I didn’t want to wait a half hour for Costco to open so I headed home. Throughout the day I watched a lot of youtube interviews of Joaquin and other trailers and also worked on cleaning up the utility room. I vacuumed and cleaned it out, then hung some pictures and a white board and lastly switched the cd shelves since Eric had put then in the wrong order. Later in the afternoon I went to the frame shop and got a piece of glass cut for a frame then to Home Depot for shelf pins. At home I hung the picture in the utility room and put the shelf that was sitting in there into the buffet in the living room. Eric was off at 3 but went to an anti-war rally downtown with Sky. I watched Reality Bites and Eric called to say he was on his way home. He stopped by the store before coming home and when he got home he made breakfast burritos that were delicious. I decided to start a book since it’s been a while since I’ve read one and decided on David Sedaris’ “Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim”. I fell asleep about 20 pages in and it was only 10. Eric came in and I went to sleep.

Friday 2/22, I was happy it was Friday. I was tired but we wanted to see a movie (The Master) so I knew I had to stay up. Eric got a pizza for us for dinner so he brought it into the bedroom for me. We left after 8 and drove out to the Crest. Eric got popcorn and we got good seats. We both loved it and talked about it all the way back to the car (a few blocks). It was almost midnight when we got home. Eric had to be up early the next day.

Thursday 2/21, Genie and I corresponded about the app and I voiced my concern so she will tease it out. At home I wrote Teko’s long bio and emailed it out. I was relieved it was done and we went to the store to pick up stuff for dinner. Back home Eric made a delicious dinner of tacos with tons of fresh pico. He really dished up a portion, but I took care of it. We watched the Thursday shows, I showered, updated this and went to bed.

Wednesday 2/20, I was tired and didn’t feel like cleaning or doing chores so I went in the bedroom to lie down and ended up napping for an hour or so. Eric heated up leftovers for me and I watched tv in the bedroom. We watched Modern Family and before bed an app for Teko came in that looked ok. Eric thought that because I’d napped after work that his coughing had kept me up the night before and insisted on sleeping in the back bedroom again.

Tuesday 2/19, Susan was at the house when I got home and her and Eric were talking. Brizo was feeling better but still not 100%. Her and I took off and went to Goodwill and dropped off my stuff. We parked and went in and I loaded up on stuff. I picked up Signs (Joaquin Phoenix – hot) and Sunshine Cleaning, two towels for the dogs, a blanket for the dogs and a couple books, a Nora Roberts gem and Eugenides’ Marriage Plot. We went back home and Eric fixed us some pasta and we sat in the dining room and enjoyed it. We chatted for a while about her and Jon and how all that’s going and also watched how cute Teko is when she sat in the toy basket and chewed on her bully. She took off a little after 8 and I showered and got into bed. I watched Bachelor and updated this. Eric came in at 10 and we watched Seinfeld until going to sleep.

Monday 2/18, Presidents’ Day. I woke up around 9 and took the dogs out. Eric had been up with Brizo but we soon found out she had gotten into the cupboards and eaten a whole bunch of stuff: rice, tortilla and the worst, a half stick of Crisco / vegetable shortening. Eric gave her some hydrogen peroxide and we waited. Nothing happened. We were sitting around forever and hoping she’d vomit but she wouldn’t so we gave her more and more until she finally started. Not all of it came up so I was still worried. We got dressed and started on the rest of the stuff we wanted to get done, mostly yard work. When I came inside there was more vomit, and throughout the day that kept happening. Most of it came up but by the evening she was still bloated but could at least walk around and was more alert. Yuck. In the yard we got some fertilizer down, the boxwood moved to the backyard, daphne moved, beds weeded and the pear tree semi-pruned. Mary called to say they were on their way to pick up Pop. I figured it would be a good opportunity for Teko to meet some little kids and she did great. I made myself a couple little soft tacos then we took off to run errands. We went to Goodwill to drop stuff off but there was a long line so we skipped it. Next stop was Super Supplements where Eric got a bunch of stuff for his throat. We went up to Crossroads and perused the placemats at Pier 1 but they weren’t what I was looking for then to QFC and Half Priced Books. I got three movies (Before Sunrise, Snatch (to replace my missing version) and Reality Bites) that Eric helped me track down. We went to the French Bakery where I got a marionberry croissant then headed home. I hung out in the room and Eric walked to the store to get stuff for dinner. I showered and Eric brought dinner into the bedroom. He made a pasta bake with broccoli and green beans on the side. It was all delicious. We watched tv and soon Bachelor was on so he left and let the dogs in. I updated this. He had been alluding to sleeping together all day so I knew that was on the horizon. Did all that and then he went to sleep in the other bedroom.

Sunday 2/17, I woke up around 9 and got the dogs up. We decided to take the day off and relax so hopefully Eric could recuperate a little. I laid on my bed allll day, reading stuff online and watching Modern Family and SNL. I watched Crazy Heart too. Around 7 we went to Goodwill to drop some stuff off but they weren’t accepting anything else for the night. We went to Fred Meyer where I got some orchid potting mix and a new planter. Also got a few grocery items and headed home. After we got home that’s when I watched Crazy Heart. Went to bed afterward; it was 11ish.

Saturday 2/16, Eric had to go to work early so I got up with the dogs and let everyone out and fed them, then left them all in the den and relaxed in the bedroom by myself. Like, all morning. Like, until 11. Yikes. I finally got up and dressed then started getting things done that I’d wanted to get done earlier. I gave Nyx a haircut then bathed Teko, Nyx and Brizo. I vacuumed the den and kitchen and emptied the garbages. Eric came home and we went to Fred Meyer to grocery shop for that night’s dinner. At home we started dinner, I put down the rug in the living room and Eric helped me get the couch back rearranged. Peter and Stef arrived first and we tried to get the dogs situated while inviting them in at the same time. We got the food out and Sky and Chrystol arrived. Everything was done and we set it up buffet style in the dining room. It was a hit and everyone stuffed themselves. Eric suggested we play Apples to Apples so we went in the living room and played three rounds. I didn’t win by a long shot, but my winning adjectives were all good. Stef had made an apple crisp and brought coconut ice cream. It was delicious! They all took off around midnight and Eric and I packed up all the food and filled the dishwasher and started it. There were so many dishes and pans that needed to be cleaned up but we decided to leave the rest of it for the morning. We watched the end of SNL and went to bed. Eric moved to the back bedroom in the night because of his coughing.

Friday 2/15, When I got home Pop was there and Eric was vacuuming. I showered and got ready to go to the Makana concert with Stefanie. She arrived right at 7 and we took off for Kirkland, chatting the whole way. We made our way in and decided to sit in the back. It was a good show, and quite long and he’s very funny. After the show we waited around to say hi and I was relieved we didn’t have to try and figure out how to get backstage per AL’s instructions. We waited until almost everyone else had left then said hi. I told him I was AL’s niece and he gave me a big hug, then he gave Stefanie one and a kiss on the cheek and really gave her a once over. He didn’t say anything about getting a bite to eat so we left and I was ok with that. We drove home and chatted some more. It was after 11. Eric was asleep in the back room and all the dogs were barking in the den. I got them all put to bed, called AL to give her a report of the show and went to bed.

Thursday 2/14, Valentine’s Day. When I got home Eric had flowers, a card and several chocolate goodies for me to try. I went and wrapped my presents for Eric (four books and a cd). I called Mom and Dad and talked on the phone with them and caught up. Eric and I went to the store and got stuff for dinner. We made butternut squash soup and gruyere croutons with a salad on the side. It was very good and I especially liked the croutons. For dessert Eric dished up a cookie and ice cream. Yum! We watched Parks and Rec and the Office in the bedroom. Eric slept in the other room again. Poor guy.

Wednesday 2/13, Eric’s birthday. When I got home I started getting ready and gave Eric his one present that he was going to get because none of the others were wrapped. We talked while I got ready and I checked in with Chrystol. We took off and arrived a few minutes early but luckily Sky and Chrystol arrived earlier and got us a table (Brad’s Swingside Café). Eric was surprised they were there so that was really fun. We had a very nice dinner and I got the beef stew with gnocchi. Everything was really good. We decided to meet at PCC to pick out dessert. I got a black bottom cupcake. We went back to their house and chatted while we ate our desserts. We stayed until 10:30 or so and headed home. He slept in the other room because of his coughing.

Tuesday 2/12, When I got home Eric was making French bread pizzas with bell peppers and zucchini. Dinner was done early so I was eating before 6 (they were delicious). I fed the dogs then took all the pups but Teko into the bedroom with me to watch Lost in Translation. Eric came in at 7:30 and said he was going to bed because he’d had such a terrible night’s sleep the night before because of his dry cough. I finished my movie, took the dogs out and got ready for bed. I watched Dateline and updated this. I also looked up dry cough remedies because I could hear him coughing from the guest room.

Monday 2/11, When I got home Eric was making dinner. I went out in the yard and cleaned up the dog crap then back inside and sat in the kitchen and talked to Eric. We talked in the bedroom for a little bit while waiting for dinner to cook then ate out in the living room, sans dogs. Watched a little tv, then Bachelor! Eric read in the den and I hung in the bedroom and updated this. He came in after my show and wanted to mess around. I hopped in the shower and we got down to business. It was after 11 by the time we got the dogs put to bed and went to bed ourselves.

Sunday 2/10, Eric decided to go snowshoeing with Peter so he was up and getting ready early. He helped me take the dogs out then he was out the door. I continued on my quest of cleaning out closets and going through stuff. I made a trip to Goodwill to drop off some stuff, the bank, Half Priced Books for presents for Eric, Papa Murphy’s for a cheap lunch and home. I had my lunch and kept going on my project. I got a little sleepy so I laid down and finally got a call from Eric around 2 that they were on their way home. He was home by 3. He wasn’t feeling great but he’d had a good time and showed me some pictures; they went 11 miles. He was tired and watched tv while I did some laundry and other things. He wanted me to lie down with him for a little bit so we all cuddled up and I did stuff on the computer. He got up to get ready for his second bowling extravaganza of the weekend (for work, this time). I had some pizza and an apple for dinner and sat down to take care of Teko’s vet reimbursement stuff. I showered and got ready to surprise Eric when he got home but he didn’t come home until after 10 and I was exhausted. We pretty much went to bed. He did well at bowling again but didn’t feel good at all. I’d put new sheets on the bed which felt wonderful but he was coughing so much he wanted to sleep in the other room.

Saturday 2/9, Eric had to work early so I got up with the dogs a little before 8 and soon Teko and I were on our way down to Kent to get an xray and hopefully get her splint off. It was good news and her cast could come off. She had to take it easy for the next couple weeks so that was going to be a challenge. At home I put on the sling and popped her in so she couldn’t lick her leg and so I could get some stuff done without her crying in her xpen. I started cleaning out various closets and rearranging things. I got quite a bit done considering I had about 1.5 hands. I even got some of the garage shelves rearranged. We all went into the bedroom to take a little nap and close our eyes. We were semi-successful until Eric came home around 1:15. We were both hungry so we went over to Kukai and though there was a 20 minute wait it was the least busy I’ve seen it. The food was excellent and I was slurping broth all over the place. I got the tonkatsu ramen and Eric ordered the veggie and also some veggie tempura. It was all good; I’d go back again in a second. At home I called Mom and Dad and told them I was home and that they could come over. I kept going on putting things away and going through stuff. When they arrived we sat on the couch and they got to meet Teko and Mom loves her and wanted to take her home. I helped Dad on and off with the electrical in the utility room and the den. It wasn’t long before he had it figured out. Eric came home and helped him finish up then talked with Mom for quite a while about his program and all that. They took off a little before 6 and went to try Kukai because Dad loves soups and ramen. Mom not so much, but she went anyway. Dad called right after they left and we talked for a little while and updated each other. I got off the phone, showered and got ready for our bowling night. We took off for the Garage and went in. We were there first and just stood around until we saw Eva and Kenny. Stef and Peter arrived so we went and sat down. We met several other people including Roberto and His*m, Emily and Ron. It was a large group. We sat for a while before our lane was ready and finally headed over. Eva and I sat out and even then there were still 8 (another couple showed up later). It was fun to watch and Stef’s goal was to just not be last and she succeeded in both games. Eric did pretty well and bowled a 165 in the first game. We left around 11 and headed home to watch some SNL before going to sleep.

Friday 2/8, Chrystol invited us to her school’s bingo night so after work I showered and got ready. Eric left just as I got home to go get his hair cut. C said we should get dinner afterward so I had a little something to eat before we left since it was going to be a late night. We drove up to Edmonds and made good time. We followed some people into the gym and looked at the prize table until Sky and Chrystol came in. We got in line to get our cards and some snacks (rice krispie treats for me) and found some seats in the back. Eric or Sky was the first to win at our table then the other one. Eric won again then me and I picked out a Randy Johnson poster for Eric that said “Greetings from Mr. Snappy” that was hilarious. I won again but I let Chrystol call bingo and get a prize. It was pretty fun actually. Afterward we helped clean up, saw Chrystol’s classroom and took off to find some food. C and I wanted Olive Garden because they had a gift certificate but the boys were totally opposed. We went to Whole Foods. We arrived at 9 so we had an hour to eat and we used up that whole hour. I got a salad and some soup. The salad was way better than the soup. I had high hopes for the soup but it wasn’t very flavorful. We had fun though. We went home and went to bed.

Thursday 2/7, Same as Wednesday, don’t remember what happened other than we watched Parks and Rec and Office.

Wednesday 2/6, I don’t remember what happened after work but I know we watched Modern Family in the evening.

Tuesday 2/5, Kieran called while I was on my way home and said the heat on the main floor wasn’t working. When I got home Eric suggested checking the breaker. That ended up being the culprit. I brought some work home with me again and got started pretty quickly after getting home. Eric made dinner and it was finished right as I was finishing up work. I showered and got into bed and did all my usual internet stuff. I put on Bachelor and updated this.

Monday 2/4, I brought work home with me and did that for a while and Eric made dinner not long into it. It was Grandma’s birthday so I called and talked to her. She’s worried about Scott because he has to have open heart surgery. We talked for a bit then I got into working. Kass called while I was in the middle of it and filled me in on some of her goings-on, gave her some advice about employee benefits then she told me to call Alix. I called her next and talked for a half hour or so and gave her a pep talk. I got off the phone just as Bachelor was coming on. I half watched it. It’s a ridiculous show. We went to bed after 11.

Sunday 2/3, Eric was up and out of the house early and I slept until 9 when my phone woke me up. I got up and took care of the dogs then had breakfast. I started in on the vet reimbursement info to Sue and finished it up right as Eric was getting home. It was just after 10. He suggested we get going on the outdoor lights so I started getting dressed and went out to help him. While he got everything going I started pruning and clipping dead foliage off plants. We got all three lights up and headed off to Bartell and Ace to pick stuff up, including dryer sheets and light bulbs. We went to the store after and picked up some stuff for the week. When we got home Eric finished up the lights, I cleaned up dog crap in the backyard, Eric made me lunch and I took pictures and prepared Teko’s petfinder bio. I went through some magazines and took care of some emails. Eric started on dinner and Teko lost another tooth while she was chewing a bully prior to her dinner. Eric made turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes and squash and all was delicious. I put on a movie (Alex and Emma) and updated this while two of the dogs slept next to me (Brizo and Nyx) and the other two played and played and played. Went to bed late.

Saturday 2/2, Eric was up and out of the house early. I was up at 8 and got the dogs taken care of then took off for Kent with Teko to go to the vet. She needed her DHPP booster (last one) and to have her leg rewrapped. It took forever because her leg had sores (splint rubbing wrong) and they had to clean it all up and really pad it. I took off for home and made it all the way to Newport when they called to tell me I had forgotten her meds for preventing infection. I swore several times and turned around. Picked it up and headed north again. I went to see Eric at work and Teko was happy to see him and also Kelly. I told him about the vet experience and headed home. I heated up pizza and it was delicious. I put on Return to Me in the bedroom and it ended right when Eric got home. I still relaxed in the bedroom and tried to take a little nap. I was semi-successful. I got up, took the dogs out and jumped into the shower. Eric took care of the dogs while I got ready and we took off for Ballard to Sky and Chrystol’s. Traffic was awful because 520 was closed all weekend. We got there right after 6 and their new living room setup was very nice. We had a really fun night and watched Silver Streak, which I think they liked. Chrystol made enchiladas that were excellent and for dessert she made a kucher and it tasted like a twinkie. Delicious! We left a little after 11 and went home. We took the dogs out, got ready for bed and watched some SNL before going to sleep.

Friday 2/1, After work I relaxed for a little bit then we took off for Costco where we got a pizza for dinner (pepperoni) and bought Bridesmaids. Eric moved all the pepperoni to my side of the pizza and we put on the movie. We laughed a lot and pretty much went to bed after it was over.

Thursday 1/31, I decided I didn’t want to go to Costco and that we’d go the next night. I don’t remember what we did but I know we watched Office, which was an hour long. Don’t remember what else.

Wednesday 1/30, Eric was at the Bellevue I-90 meeting when I got home so I took out the dogs and as I was coming back in he arrived home. We talked about the meeting for a while then fed the dogs. I brought some work home and started on it in the bedroom. I worked on that for an hour and a half. I showered and when I got out Eric was watching a Lindburgh baby murder mystery show on PBS. I updated this.

Tuesday 1/29, We talked in the morning and both apologized to each other. I did some laundry and a few administrative things after work. I heated up some pasta for dinner and retired to the bedroom. I went through a magazine and called Kass. She asked about Kauai and I told her. I called Aubs afterward to let her know and we talked for a couple minutes. I went to bed and Eric was watching the news on the I-90 tolling issue.

Monday 1/28, I got a call from Kieran on my way home and she said they want to stay through March for sure, perhaps through April, so I’ve got another month to figure some things out. Eric was on a run when I got home but arrived home shortly after. I did some laundry while he showered then we took off for the store. We got stuff to make pasta and stuff for the week. I fed the dogs while he started dinner then did a little computer work. Eric told me dinner was ready and we ate out in the living room and watched WoF. I retired to the bedroom and watched Bachelor. It was ridiculous. I wanted to cuddle with Eric but then we got into an argument and he was really mad and I was just kind of stunned. I didn’t say anything and we just went to bed.

Sunday 1/27, I was up at 8:20 and Eric was at the store getting stuff to make breakfast. I got back in bed with Teko and we cuddled. I did some stuff online and Eric brought me breakfast in bed and he made breakfast burritos that were one of the best he ever made. I eventually started getting ready at 10 after talking to Mom and Dad for a while about plans for selling the condo. I went through a magazine and did some more stuff online (imdb research) then put in Love Actually. Afterward I fell asleep with the dogs until about 6. Eric fed the dogs, I put some laundry in, Eric made dinner (veggie enchiladas and Spanish rice) and brought it to me in the bedroom again since I was holed up in there. Dad and Mom called and we chatted for a while before I took the dogs out and got ready for bed. Got an email about Lex’s first few days that was very good and took care of a couple other adoption emails. Showered and got into bed to update this and watch tv and went to bed by 11.

Saturday 1/26, Eric was up at 6, which meant I was up at 6 and not able to go back to sleep. I finally got up at 7:30 and got the dogs taken care of. I forgot Lex went home and was worried about where I’d put his belly band. I remembered before getting out of bed, but had a moment of panic. I was determined to get my taxes done so I got to work and figured everything out while the dogs kept me company on the bed. At noon I packed up Teko and headed off to see Eric at work and to do a little socialization. Teko did great and the girls all loved her. Eric had his lunch break so we took a walk down to All the Best and let her sniff around in there and get some treats. We walked back and I said goodbye. I heated up my lunch when I got home and put on Dirty Dancing. I typed everything into my tax forms, printed them out, packed them up and off we went to the post office. We drove up to Crossroads but they didn’t have the forms I needed so we stopped by the French Bakery for some treats (marionberry cream cheese croissant) then headed into downtown Bellevue. We went to the main post office and I mailed it off then over to Office Depot to pick up some toilet paper and paper towels and home. We went home where we decided against dinner and to just go to the movie instead. I had an apple and off we went at 6. We saw Silver Linings Playbook and it was excellent. Eric is so cute, after the movie he’s like “I think it would be fun to take some dance classes!” We talked about it on the way home. We took care of the dogs and watched some tv then I hopped in the shower. He joined me not much later and things got a little “steamy”. We made it just in time for SNL, but I was tired and fell asleep not long into it. Eric stayed up a little later.

Friday 1/25, Eric wanted to go on a date. Our baby Lexy was going home that evening so we were prepping for his departure. I got off work early and rushed home. We got ready for Paul and Robert to come over and they arrived by 5:30. We had everything ready to go and we ended up talking with them for a half hour or so. I took a picture and off they went. I showered and we fed the dogs then it was off to dinner. We decided to go down toward Bella Bottega in case we wanted to see Silver Linings Playbook. We went to the thai place that I went with Bouncer Erik (Erik Laugh) and it was as good as I remembered. I had the garlic beef and Eric had some tofu thing. We got the spring rolls and those were delicious just like everything else. We went two doors down to a froyo place and I got chocolate with chocolate sauce. We talked and ate our ice cream but decided against the movie since we would have had to kill an hour. We went home and crawled into bed and watched Office and Parks and Rec. Eric had to work early the next day so we turned in not much later.

Thursday 1/24, I showered when I got home and got ready to go to a movie with Kristel. I ate some leftovers and headed out. I beat Kristel to the theater (Lincoln Square) and got the tickets. She got the popcorn. We saw Gangster Squad and we both loved it. RG was hot, hot, hot. And funny. We were squealing during some parts, pleading with RG to take his shirt off in others and at one point I gasped and exclaimed “oh my god!” without realizing and had Kristel laughing so hard. She told me what I did and I was like, “I did?!”. The popcorn was delicious and we both enjoyed it. We walked to our cars together and said goodbye. Eric was still up when I got home and I told him all about the movie and that I thought he’d like it. I did some research on imdb after Eric turned in. I went to sleep not long after.

Wednesday 1/23, I got going on chores when I got home, vacuuming and mopping the dining room, entryway and living room. It took me quite a while since I scrubbed the floors on my hands and knees. Eric heated up some dinner for me at 7:30. I showered and got into bed. Watched Modern Family without Eric and did stuff online.

Tuesday 1/22, I immediately got down to getting the vetting info submitted to Sue and waited for Blair to come over. We didn’t hear from her so I texted and we talked on the phone and Eric said he’d go to her work the next day and pick up the microchip inserter she was going to drop off. I don’t really remember what else I did Tuesday, but I think I did some cleaning up prepping for my major cleaning the next day. Eric made dinner, though it was a little sparse. Probably went to bed early.

Monday 1/21, Still waiting for Lexy’s fecal test results. Corresponded throughout the day with Janell, Aubrie, Kristel, Susan, Genie, Paul and Kieran. Kieran’s not sure if they’ll stay through April or move out at the end of February. I’ll have some decisions to make depending on what they do. I want to get the condo listed but it needs some work first. Luckily I have a good amount saved to gussy it up. Sent in Lex’s FP pass. When I got home Eric wanted to take the dogs for a walk so we harnessed up Lex, Clancy and Nyx and did the same walk as the night before. It was freezing again. Eric made dinner while I got going on taxes again and sent Janell an email about Lex’s test. Eric brought in dinner and it was ok (fish, broccoli and rice) but I’m trying to try new things since Eric’s on the vegetarian kick (well, I guess pescatarian-ish kick). Made my way through taxes pretty well while watching Bachelor while cuddling with all the dogs. Went to bed not long after it was over.

Sunday 1/20, Eric was up first and I got up at 7:40 and started to get the dogs up and ready. I got a stool sample for Lexy and soon we headed down to Kent to go to the vet. We had them rewrap Teko’s foot and administer her rabies vacc and Lex really didn’t even need to come since no one saw him. They wouldn’t put in the microchips and the doctor gave us all kinds of attitude which I thought was totally weird. The fecal test results were going to take a day to come back. When we got home I scooped poop in the backyard, got Teko to pee in the backyard and Eric started cleaning inside. When I was finished outside I came in and emptied garbages and washed bedding. I worked on my taxes and watched Walk the Line and made some good progress. Looked up some hotel prices in PDX for when we go see Lucia in March and wrote some emails. We took Clancy and Lex for a walk and it was freezing. He loves being outside which is good because his new dads are going to take him on a lot of walks and probably hikes, too. We went to the store to get stuff for dinner and the week. Eric made pasta when we got home and I worked on my taxes some more. I ate in the bedroom as I watched Biggest Loser and updated this. We got into bed and flipped between channels for a while before going to bed.

Saturday 1/19, Eric left early and I was up not much later, by alarm. I got the dogs out and fed and packed up all Lex’s stuff for our rendezvous at Luther Burbank. We took off at 8:45 and waited in the small dog corral for a while and finally Paul saw me from the big dog area and we met. Lex and Milo did just fine with Lex being a little more of the naughty boy. Milo was great and friendly. We were there for about an hour and a half and it went really well. We agreed for us to see them at their place at 3:30 for the home visit. I went to see Eric at work and for Lex to see him. The girls all liked him and thought he was really cute. I took off for home and when I got there I ramshakled together a lunch. We all took a nap together and for once Teko was calm enough to relax and cuddle with me. Usually she’s all over the place but she was just great. Eric came home from work and we took out the dogs. We got ready to leave and took off for Columbia City. The home visit went really well and we were there for almost THREE HOURS. We left and got home right about 6:30. I went to get a pizza and went to the store for a salad and some other things that were on sale. Eric fed the dogs and got dinner started while I showered and kept Teko in the bathroom with me. We put on the movie and I filled out the HV form and sent it off. We watched the Rum Diaries and Johnny Depp is still fucking hot. We watched Blades of Glory on tv afterward and both fell asleep for an hour. I got up and started to get the dogs ready for bed then we got everyone put in their crates for bed. I couldn’t stay awake for SNL and fell asleep a few minutes before it started.

Friday 1/18, I got off work and was so glad it was the weekend. We didn’t have any plans and I ended up just relaxing all night. We did the dogs’ nails, except Brizo. Everyone was good. Eric had the idea to make portabella mushroom burgers and tater tots for dinner so we went to the store and picked up everything. We had traded texts during the day about wanting it all and giving it to me and it was a little bit of a dare. Dinner was good but I didn’t love it as much as Eric did. We both got all gussied up and made a real event out of the evening. After, we got all the dogs into their beds and we went to sleep early since Eric had to work at 7 and I had to meet-up with Lex’s adopters early.

Thursday 1/17, I cleaned the bathroom and really got down to it. Eric and I talked and I want to get a cleaning lady but Eric thinks it’s a waste of money. I’m the one paying for it so I don’t know what the problem is. I don’t remember what else we did but I know Eric worked on dinner while I worked on some dog stuff. New episodes of Parks and Rec and Office. They were good and it wasn’t long before we were off to bed.

Wednesday 1/16, Eric was at the store when I got home. I suggested we go to ATB to do a little socialization. Teko did great and wanted to say hi to everyone, including two large pitties. Lex was a little less enamored with everyone and just wanted to explore and keep close to us. We got some treats and a tail teaser and we headed home. Eric made dinner and I corresponded with Lex’s adopters setting up times for Saturday’s meetings. We watched Modern Family and I worked on something, though I don’t remember what. Probably turned in early.

Tuesday 1/15, I went home after work and showered and waited for Eric to get home. I got the dogs settled and he arrived home right as I was leaving for my haircut. It took me a while to find parking then walked down the hill. Sean was waiting for me and we quickly got started. We talked about heritage, facial hair growth, relationships, making out with celebrities (off limits), redheads and how I probably would have liked his dad and some other stuff. It was fun as always and I was in stitches. I was out of there right before 8:00 and decided to call Genie when I got home. She called me when I was a few blocks away from the house and we started our chat. We talked for a half hour or so and she let me know that Paul and Robert are great and would be perfect adopters for Lex. I told her I’d contact them about a meet-up and home visit. I think Eric made me a caprese salad and climbed into bed. Eric said my hair looked nice. We turned in early with all the pets.

Monday 1/14, Eric took me to work so he could take my car in to check the chip I thought I had. Turns out it was a prior chip that had already been filled. He picked me up and then we got into an argument on the way home about him taking Teko out in the wet grass without a bag on her cast. Ugh. Whatever. We didn’t talk for the rest of the way home. I took Teko out when I got there and she pottied, thankfully, then I got her to eat and drink some water. She did some playing with Lex and it was adorable. Lex has an awesome app and I corresponded with them back and forth a bit. I uploaded a video of Lex and Teko and watched Bachelor. I got Teko to eat some more and drink some water. She needs to put on some weight and since she’s a puppy she needs to eat more than normal. I updated this and turned in by 10:30.

Sunday 1/13, We were up early, 6:30, to get the dogs up and moving and ready for their appointments. Eric got Teko up and tried to get her to potty, but she wouldn’t. After getting ready I took her out of crate to hold her for a bit before we needed to leave and her foot was so incredibly swollen and grotesque, it was terrifying. I yelled to Eric and he quickly removed the wrap and her foot looked awful. We were both freaking out, in our own ways, because her foot looked completely disfigured. Eric was nervous they’d have to amputate. Neither of us knows how to wrap a leg, obviously, but we didn’t want to leave it loose and this is what happens. She hadn’t cried or anything all night. I carried her around and tried to massage the top part of her leg to get the blood moving. I was a wreck, packed her up and headed down to Kent. When I got there her foot had gone down a ton. I was relieved. I was the first one there and they took her back right away and it looked like her foot was fine, though they definitely wanted to x-ray it. Janell showed up and she came in and we chatted with the vet and she cuddled with Teko. I took off a few minutes later and called Eric to let him know everything was fine. He took Nyx to her 6-month checkup and also took Lex and Clancy to have their anal glands done. Yuck. I beat him home and had some cereal. I vacuumed the bedroom, stripped the bed and made it with our new sheets. Eric worked on vacuuming the living room and I emptied the garbages and took care of a few paperwork items. I went to the store to pick up a few things and back before Chrystol and Sky arrived. They were coming over for our Seahawks party and we got down to eating pretty quickly after their arrival. I got a call from the vet that Teko would be ready in 10 minutes so I told them I’d be there in an hour or so. For breakfast Eric made quiche, fingerling potatoes, a delicious salad and fresh fruit. Plus orange juice, coffee, tea and all that. We sat around and watched the game and chatted. I left shortly after 11 and Chrystol left to go to Nordstrom to pick up some boots. I made it down, checked out and picked up the recovering little girl. She was real sleepy and cuddly. I talked to the vet and got all the instructions for her aftercare and headed home. I made it home quickly and joined the festivities. All in all the game went well at the end except the Seahawks lost. It was a good game though. We watched some snowboarding show and competition and not long after Chrystol and Sky left. I cuddled with Teko for a little bit but she mostly rested. Eric was exhausted and took a 5-minute nap then we headed into Issaquah to pick up Nyx. She did well and is in good shape for an old lady. At home we relaxed some more and it felt so late. It was only like 6:30 but felt like it was 10. We watched most of the Golden Globes and got in bed by 8. We were out by 10. Dogs were all squared away.

Saturday 1/12, Weird dreams thanks to melatonin! I slept in until 8; Eric got all the dogs up and fed. We took off at 8:30 to go meet the NR people and pick up the new puppy. We went down to Newport and were the first there. Julee arrived next and got our girl out; she was super cute and friendly but her nails were so long and sharp they felt like needles scraping my skin. She wanted down but she has a bum leg and is supposed to be on crate rest. She was wild. She was stepped on at the shelter and had a dislocated shoulder, but it had been x-rayed and treated; however, the back leg had a splint, so was that one broken in addition to the shoulder? No idea. We hung out for awhile and chatted and took all the puppies out of the cars and held and played with them. So cute, but full of piss and vinegar. Cindy and Andrew were there too to pick up their puppy. Genie and Dave were transporting two over to Becky. We took off and stopped at QFC on our way home to get a donut. When we got home her splint had come off and we tried to put it back on with no luck. We got her settled, fed and watered her, tried to get her to potty (not successful) and got her dewormer administered. I went in the bedroom with the other dogs and sent an email to Janell with all my questions, updated Lex and Teko’s medical summaries, updated this then went through some magazines. We tried to wrap her leg but were not having much luck. I called a bunch of vets, got prices for spays, xrays and inquired for appointment availability. I ended up making an appointment at the same vet Janell was using in Kent. Got approval from Sue and got everything squared away. Appointment made for 7:45 the next morning. I took a bit of a nap then Kass called and her and Meg were going down to Haystack to be secret shoppers and asked if I wanted to come down. I got out of bed and headed downtown. We perused and they got a chair and we went up to Flowers for the People or whatever to see the pieces Kass had let them use in their space. After being there for 45 minutes we went to Belle Pastry and shared some treats. We talked for a while then headed back to the car and they dropped me off. I went home and Eric made me a caprese salad. I wanted to go to bed early because we had to be up early for dog appointments. He took care of the puppy and stayed up late making a quiche. I did not have a great night’s sleep because I was nervous about Teko’s appointment.

Friday 1/11, Got my raise and I’m pleased with it. Janell said her Coho has giardia and that Lex may have it; I think he does. I also think that may be why Isi has the runs. Stopped at PetSmart on the way home but they didn’t have the meds Janell recommended (or didn’t know they had the meds and didn’t want to help look). I called Isa to tell her and let her know I’d be sending her information about the meds as well. When I got home Susan was there already. I was a little worked up about the meds and everything but Eric told me to relax. I hopped in the shower and quickly got ready to go meet Jon at Szechuan Chef for dinner. We took off and got our table. I had a hard time deciding but settled on the sesame chicken and garlic broccoli and Eric got the veggie fried rice. We all shared the hand shaven noodles. We had a nice dinner and I like Jon. He seems very nice and normal. We decided to go try Menchie’s and I liked it, but Eric was less than impressed. We walked back to our cars and said goodbye. I called PetSmart in Bellevue to see if they had the meds and they did so we drove down, picked them up and headed home. Gave Lex a dose and I got ready for bed. The dogs cuddled in bed with me while I did stuff online. I went to bed after watching some Friends. Big day picking up the new puppy in the morning.

Thursday 1/10, When I got home from work I got going on laundry, took pictures of Lex then wrote his bio and did his image event. We went to the store to get stuff to make veggie coconut curry. Janell put out a blast that there was an extra puppy that needed to be brought up or else she had to go back to the shelter and would be put down, so we agreed. She’s three months old, which freaks me out because I’ve never dealt with a puppy. Got Teko (new girl) registered in the ratabase, watched Office then I booked Eric’s ticket to Kauai and talked to Aubrie who decided to wait until next week, hoping the prices will go back down. Tickets went up $70 since the day before. Got an email from Isa and she’s renamed Isi to Quincy, which is hilarious because our first foster Quincy lives in Portland and they look just like each other. So funny. Apparently Isi has the runs so I wrote to her about food stuff and supplements to try. Updated this, watched Seinfeld and went to bed.

Wednesday 1/9, When I got home I talked to Dad, Mom, AL and Kassie. We clipped all the dogs’ nails and they all did pretty well. Eric made me a caprese salad then I showered and got in bed. I booked my ticket to Kauai. We watched Modern Family and turned in. I couldn’t stay up to watch Ryan Gosling on Kimmel.

Tuesday 1/8, I left work to go have my annual up on Capitol Hill. That went well then over to Kristel’s. She met me downstairs and we walked down to Ben Bridge to look at rings and found some nice ones but K wasn’t sold on any of them. We went over to Tiffany and tried on all sorts of stuff. Our guy came across as gay from in the beginning but after awhile I was like “Wait, are you straight and you were faking being gay?”. He was nice, though, and humored my ideas for skull charms and skull baby rattle, with jewel eyes. We closed them down and headed up to 6 Arms for dinner. I got the Maria sandwich and it was delicious. I ate it all. We walked down to Tango afterward to have El Diablo for dessert. We talked forever and by 9:30ish we headed back up toward Kristel’s. We said goodbye and I ran to my car. I made it home pretty quickly and climbed into bed with Eric. We talked about our nights then went to sleep.

Monday 1/7, I woke up to an email from Isa with a fantastic update on Isi. I felt so relieved and forwarded it to Genie. Later in the day she sent me a picture of Isi in a cute jacket. I stayed a little late at work then headed home and talked with Eric for a little bit. I called Susan and talked to her for a while before getting into the shower. We took off at 6:45 for Costco where I bought too much stuff, but we still didn’t use a cart. At home Eric made dinner and I tried to get some pictures of Lex. I watched Bachelor and Eric shamed me. Obviously I feel embarrassed for watching it, but still did. Went to bed after it was over.

Sunday 1/6, The day Isi was heading home. I was kind of in denial and knew it was going to be really hard. I spent the morning cleaning and doing stuff around the house. By the time I was finished it was almost 1, which is when Sky and Chrystol were supposed to show up to watch the Seahawks game. I jumped in the shower and they arrived right when I got out. The three of them wanted to take a walk to go birding; I wasn’t as eager but we set out. We brought Clancy and Lex and went to Phantom Lake. We saw quite a few birds and the dogs seemed to enjoy themselves. I was getting cold and hungry and Clancy was baby-ing it up so I headed back home with them. I finished Isi’s going home paperwork and warmed up the soup. I dished up and they all arrived back. Eric made some garlic bread that was delicious. We sat in the living room and watched the game and the Seahawks weren’t doing so well at first, but then Eric got his Seahawks troll and the game turned around. They won. Isa showed up to pick up Isi right on time. It was kind of a disjointed goodbye and I was so sad to see her go. I wanted to cry but I didn’t (saved it for later). We hung out for a while after the game ended then Chrystol and Sky went home. We decided to finish Big Love and it was depressing. Then I started crying about Isi. I think I was PMS-ing. I wrote to Genie about it then to Isa for an update. Eric made me feel better and was being very supportive. I went to bed, feeling a little sad.

Saturday 1/5, When I woke up I was still upset and Eric kept giving me hugs and telling me it was ok. We went down to the Bellevue marina to meet up with Julee and Genie to pick up our new dogs. Ours is Lex, a one-year old 10lb teddy boy. Very sweet. We also met Julee’s Gramercy and Reynvaan and Genie’s Landau. All dogs were super cuties and we talked for a while. At home he was super nervous so we waited to introduce him to the other dogs. I took him out a lot but he wanted to mark up a storm inside. We kept him crated for most of the morning and early afternoon. I wanted to get some stuff done and we ended up getting the Christmas tree, decorations and village all taken down. I vacuumed up the needles and Eric cut up the tree to burn. Mom and Dad came over to look at the lights on the garage to see if we could get them to work. It didn’t take Dad and Eric long to figure out they are wired to the switch by the front door. It makes sense, but the source is so far from the switch. Mom wanted to get the window all laid out for the bathroom. They took off not much later and we took off to run some errands. We went to Mud Bay for food, the bank so I could make a deposit then Safeway to get some stuff for lunch and for soup. Eric got started on the soup when we got home and it simmered away all afternoon. I kept myself busy in the bedroom doing stuff on the computer and napping. When I woke up I had some soup and it was very good, though because it was completely vegetarian it wasn’t as rich as I was hoping it would be. It had cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, green beans, kale and spinach. I had some bread too. We watched a couple episodes of Big Love before watching SNL. I fell asleep in the middle of it.

Friday 1/4, I was so glad to be done with work. I got home and took a shower and put on warm clothes. I got on the bed and did stuff on the computer. I ended up sleeping for an hour or so until Eric made dinner for me. I watched Dateline then we got into an argument about healthcare and insurance companies. I just wanted him to quit talking so I could finish updating this. I ended up losing my temper, big time, and I think PMS was partially to blame. Went to bed upset even though Eric wasn’t.

Thursday 1/3, I got a call from the timeshare people that the one we booked in Antigua was going to be closed for when we had planned to be there. I talked to Eric about it and also about a movie that night. We decided to travel somewhere else and to see This is 40. At home I showered and we took off for dinner. We went to the Indian place in Crossroads; it was good. We went and saw the movie and there was a weird guy in the front that made me nervous. He ended up just being weird and didn’t do anything. The movie was super long and not great, but had funny parts. We went home and went to bed.

Wednesday 1/2, Eric was working until 7. I stopped at O’Reilley’s before going home to get some stop leak stuff. I fed the dogs when I got home and called Kass to tell her that Peter and Stefanie said thank you for New Year’s Eve hospitality. I started working on my Visa statements again and looking up all the tax for my phone, cable, water and vet bills. I put on Dirty Dancing (the original) and was all hot and bothered over Patrick Swayze. Finished that up but have to work on some other exhibits next. Eric came home right as it was ending. He went on a run and I made myself dinner. When he got home we clipped Brizo, Nyx and Isi’s nails. Isi was the easiest. I showered and climbed into bed to update this.

Tuesday 1/1, I slept until almost 10 and got the dogs up. Eric was already up and wanted to get the new outside lights installed. He worked on that for most the day. I did stuff inside, but didn’t get done what I wanted to accomplish (clean bathroom, vacuum room). Later in the afternoon we went up to Ace to get some light bulbs and I had a snack when we got home. I don’t remember what we did for the rest of the day. Maybe watched a Big Love episode.

Monday, March 04, 2013

Monday 12/31, I left work early to have my car checked out. It’s the head gasket on the other side this time but we’re going to leave it for now. I’m going to buy some stop leak stuff and see if that helps. I had been texting with Stefanie and Chrystol all day making plans. Zoo Lights was off the table and we were going over to Chrystol and Sky’s beforehand. I called Susan when I got home and we talked a little. I showered and got ready and Eric made me a sandwich using up some of the ham and brie. We left a little after 7:30 and hung out at their place for an hour or so. We took off and texted Stef that we were on our way down to Georgetown to go to Kassie and Skylar’s new restaurant / bar, Brass Tacks. We parked and saw Peter and Stef driving around trying to find parking as we were going in. We went in and it’s a very cool space. We sat down at a table by the games and Sky started putting in the food orders. Tons of fries, burgers and buttermilk fried chicken started coming out. I ate a ton of fries. They taste like Dad’s fries. I also had a “clear conscience” drink (non-alcoholic) that was delicious. I don’t remember what it was called but it had like 10 ingredients. The games started and everyone paired up for foosball and shuffle board. Sky loaded us all up on the quarters. It was a fun evening and there was plenty of people watching. I think Chrystol was pleased. We stayed until almost 2 am. We said bye to everyone and headed back to Ballard to drop off Sky and Chrystol. We drove home and by the time we were turning in it was after 3 am. Very tired.

Sunday 12/30, Eric had to work at 9 and I ended up staying in bed again for most of the day so that I could recuperate. I watched a movie and napped until Eric got home. Nothing exciting for the rest of the day, but all the rest helped me feel better.

Saturday 12/29, Eric didn’t have to work so he was up with the dogs and fed them and started on dinner. He made chicken burgers for me and salmon burgers for him, Sky and Chrystol. I stayed in bed all day. I watched movies and did some of my tax stuff. I finally got up and out of bed around 5. I showered and got dressed and they arrived by 6. We talked in the kitchen for a while then dinner was ready and we ate out in the living room and watched Cops. We put on Your Highness and laughed all the way through. Eric made cookies (chocolate chip, walnut, cranberry) so we had some of those for dessert, in addition to the plethora of cookies Sky brought. They stayed until almost 11:30 then headed home. We got into bed and watched some of the Anne Hathaway SNL rerun.

Friday 12/28, I didn’t feel good so when I got home I got into bed right away. I was glad it was Friday and I could take it easy all weekend. I may have watched a movie or maybe talked Eric into an episode of Big Love. I went to bed early.

Thursday 12/27, The only day P and I would be in the office together until 1/3. Got everything pretty much wrapped up. At home I waited for Blair to arrive to help with Isi’s microchip and also waited for Eric to get home from his run. The microchipping did not go well and they couldn’t get it in and also punctured Blair. Ish. She brought in Cody so she could take some pictures for her blog. She took off not much later and I took that opportunity to shower and get into bed. Eric and I talked in the bedroom for a little bit before putting on Big Love. He went to read in the den and I had some bills to pay before updating this since I was a week behind.

Wednesday 12/26, I didn’t have a very good night’s sleep and woke up several times, including all throughout the morning because Sky’s phone wouldn’t stop going off. I finally got up around 10 and went inside. Everyone was up except me, Kass and Sky. I had a sore throat. I sat on the couch with Dad while I woke up. We were able to eat breakfast around 11:30 so it was a bit of a slow start. We decided against seeing a movie and instead just hung out, worked on the puzzle and answered trivia from Mom’s new “Rock and Roll” trivial pursuit. I got the most answers correct, surprisingly. Kass, Aubrie and I went downtown to Everyday Music and I got three movies and three cds. We went to the Co-Op next for lettuce. Back home everyone was watching The Tourist and Auntie was gearing up for dinner. Dinner was estimated to take a half hour, but ended up taking an hour more than that. We didn’t eat until after 7:30 and I had wanted to leave at 7. Dinner was really good (shish kabobs, rice, salad) and we pretty much packed up and tried to head out right after we finished. We said goodbye to everyone with hugs and kisses then packed into Kassie’s car and left. Sky was very confrontational in the car about Eric and it was very awkward, but also ridiculous. I just want Eric to talk to him and figure this shit out. We made great time getting home and after the subject was changed we had nice conversations about childhoods and all that. When I got home Eric brought out Kassie’s stuff and we said bye to everyone. I was tired and ready to get into bed. Eric showed me how he got the new cookware cleaned and put away. He was very excited. I hopped in the shower and climbed into bed. I did not feel good and took some elderberry syrup and emergence-C before popping a melatonin and going to sleep.

Tuesday 12/25, We woke up shortly after 8 and started getting ready. We exchanged gifts, though I only let Eric open a couple of his. We headed over to Mom’s right around 9 and arrived only minutes before Kassie. We served up breakfast first, which was delicious, then started in on the presents. I got new lights for the posts on the courtyard entrance, a Le Creuset skillet and stew pot from Peggy, the entire SatC complete collection so I can put all my individual seasons in Plain. Eric liked his biking shirt, All Clad and his Shun knife. His favorites for the day were the books I got him and the “Keep Tacoma Feared” stickers. Around 11 we headed out and back to our house to unload gifts and let the dogs out before going up to Bellingham for the day. We headed up and just missed being involved in a car accident. Made it up to Bellingham by 1 and it was a little chaotic. We didn’t end up opening presents until 4ish. We grazed and socialized until then. I got a lot of nice things and it was dark by the time we finished. Dinner preparation was started but we knew it wouldn’t be done until late. Eric was in the kitchen helping all night. I loaded up the car with all our loot, called AL to thank her for the presents, called Cherry to see if she could let the dogs out then Mom. We ate dinner around 9, which is pretty normal. It was good and we had a lot of fun at the kids table doing Mad Libs which turned filthy quickly. Uncle Brad was like “I want to be at that table”. Eric left by 11 and called me around 1 to tell me he’d made it to Bellevue. We all hung out and everyone stayed up pretty late. I went out to bed around 2.

Monday 12/24, Eric and I got up and went to the store to get stuff to make breakfast burritos. He fixed everything up and I woke up the sisters. We each had one, talked at the table then Eric took off for work. Dad and I went and returned the rental car then went down to O’Reilly’s to get a plug for Eric’s tire. Back at home I started getting ready for my day and Dad and the girls all got ready to leave for Bellingham. I bid them farewell and started on my chores. I cleaned up the kitchen, folded Eric’s laundry and started on my wrapping. I was busy all day and finally finished around 2. I went up to Common Folk again to get more mugs; for Grandma and Becky this time. I was finally done and went home to relax. I laid down for a little bit and fell asleep. I woke up, showered and got ready to go over to Mom’s. I fed the dogs and took off. I arrived just as Dr*ohv and Ak*mi arrived and we walked down together. Ak*mi was wearing a kimono she received from her father at 14 and had a picture to prove it. She looked pissed in the picture and she said it was because she wanted to be a “modern woman” not traditional, which is what the kimono represented. I loved the belt. JJ and Alissa arrived with A’s mom and soon we had a full house. Sky’s mom and cousin (Matt) joined us as well. There was a rousing game of Jenga in the living room and Eric finally arrived a little before 6:30 from work. Dinner was served soon after: jambalaya, ham on the side and polenta. We had a little dessert before heading off to pick up Poppy by the high school. We visited for a little bit then headed back to Mom’s to visit. We stuck around for a little longer then packed up and headed out. When we got home I helped Eric with the quiche. We were short on eggs so then we had to set out on Christmas Eve to try and find eggs at 11. Great. QFC was closed until the day after Christmas and the two gas stations next to it didn’t have eggs. We decided to loop past Safeway, Fred Meyer and lastly AMPM before the dreaded Walmart. Luckily on the way to Safeway we passed Walgreens which was open and totally poppin off. They had eggs so we were relieved. Back home to finish the quiche then Eric popped it in. While we waited for it to finish baking I got ready for bed and we starting messing around. Eric checked on the quiche and it was done then we resumed the activity at hand. It was almost 1 before we were going to sleep.

Sunday 12/23, We were going to see Rose so I was up and going and let Alishia sleep in because I thought we were driving separate from Mom and Dad. They wanted to go together so Alishia had only a few minutes to get ready because she’d been texting with her bf since I’d woken her up, instead of getting ready. We took off with a stop at Costco in Woodinville to get gas then up to Rose’s. We picked her up and went to the Chuckwagon for breakfast. We had a nice breakfast and took some pictures. We decided to do a tour of Everett and went down to Mukilteo and by the old house and on the way Mom was texting Auntie Heidi and was trying to text “no sock” but managed to hit a few wrong keys and ended up typing “mo dick” and we couldn’t stop laughing. She was about to send then looked at what she wrote. We continued toward downtown Everett by way of View Ridge and the Alternative School. We did that for at least an hour then dropped Rose off back at her place. We said goodbye and said we’d see her next year and took off. We stopped at Costco again so we could get steaks and salmon for dinner. When we got back Mom and Dad took off right away for the party store and to go see his old boss who he calls “lover” (Mark). I had to do some stuff for Isi’s app then Alishia and I went up to Crossroads. We went to Common Folk where I got some presents for Auntie Heidi then over to get Alishia some closed toe shoes (Keds) because she’d forgot her tennis shoes at home and lastly to Half Priced Books where I picked up several books for Eric from his favorite authors: Chris Hedges and Upton Sinclair. And Zinn, but he already had that one and lent it out. Back home we had enough time to relax for a few minutes before Mom and Dad came home then Eric. The Seahawks game was put on and Mom put up all her decorations and got the Seahawk plates and napkins out. We all put tattoos on our faces and I helped Eric with dinner. He made steaks, salmon, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and cauliflower, sautéed mushrooms and zucchini and squash. Aubrie’s flight landed and Mom and I went to go pick her up. Dinner was ready when we got home and everything was good. It was 9ish by the time we were done. Mom and Dad retired to bed, Alishia too, and Aubrie, Eric and I stayed up and talked for awhile and had ice cream. The Seahawks won by a landslide and listening to Dad and Eric hoot and holler all night was hilarious. The three of us went to bed by 11.

Saturday 12/22, Eric had to work early so he was up and out by 5:30. Mom and Dad slept in and I got the dogs going in the house. We went to breakfast at Lil Jon’s and had a nice meal. We went to the frame shop so I could pick up my pictures then we went up to Bothell to Tile for Less. I wanted to peruse the selection and found several I liked, but one really good one for the master bath floor. We headed home but swung by Pratt and Larsen first so I could show them the other tiles I liked. It was close to the time Alishia was coming in so we just went straight to the airport to pick her up. From there we headed home and Eric was there when we arrived. We all relaxed for a couple hours then headed over to Kassie’s for dinner. We hung out at her place for an hour or so then headed off to the Hawaiian place with the fried chicken that used to be Spring Hill. I sat by Becky and talked with her the whole time. Dinner was good and luckily I didn’t eat too much. Kass had a bunch of desserts at her house afterward. We stayed until 10:30 and headed home. We were all tired and went to bed when we got home. Eric woke me up in the middle of the night molesting me. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on. I finally did and that was that.

Friday 12/21, I rushed home from work and found Mom and Dad there in the motorhome. They let me open up a present: a large Santa for our Christmas decorations. They left a few minutes later and I started on the food. Popped stuff into the oven, ran around doing a few last minute things, into the shower and dressed then back to the food. One of Alix’s friends was the first to show up and he was very polite. I was trying to get food out when another friend showed up. Kass was running late and had made a detour to Whole Foods to get a bunch of other food. Eventually everyone arrived and Alix was surprised. We had a nice evening of talking and laughing. Theresa loved Isi and wanted to adopt her, though she’s pretty much already adopted. Eric came home after a few people had left and sat in the living room with everyone for a while. People peeled off and I tried to clean a little before heading to bed. Eric had to be up early so we went to bed; it was probably 11ish.

Thursday 12/20, When I got home Eric had cleaned the whole house and it looked and smelled great. We were all ready for Mom and Alix’s party. I didn’t have to run around or do anything. I finalized plans with Dad during the day and asked Kass to come over early to help set up for the next night’s event. I went to bed early-ish knowing I was going to have to get up early to get out of work early.

Wednesday 12/19, Eric left a card in my car apologizing for the night before. I got good news at work re: my bonus. I was so relieved. I went home and he had already been cleaning for two hours. The pool room is all cleaned up and rearranged, including the wood all bundled up. I helped with laundry, vacuumed the dining room to prep for mopping, cleaned the kitchen sink and fed the dogs. Eric and I took off to go run errands and headed down to Bella Bottega. First up was Mud Bay where we loaded up on Christmas presents for the dogs and also treats for Friday for when we have Mom’s party here. We went to the store next and got a shit load of cleaning supplies (all no animal testing) and stuff for when Mom and Dad are here. On the way home we went to Bangkok Basil where we both got Pad See Ew; I got beef, Eric got tofu. He’s back on his no meat kick. I’m sure I won’t be far behind. At home he kept going on cleaning and polishing all the wood in the house (insert joke). I stuffed the dogs’ stockings then showered and got into bed. I updated this and watched tv.

Tuesday 12/18, Susan came over after work and we had plans for her to accompany me on some errands. We went down to the frame shop in Factoria so I could get Eric’s xmas present framed and also my fat girl from Mexico print. She told me all about the new boy she likes and the demise of the Olympia one. Next we went over to the Rack where I got some socks and gift certificates for Alix and Jake. We hit all the other stores in the complex and talked the whole way through. I waded through yahoo emails so we could reminisce. We headed home where Susan had some AA questions for Eric and I made French fries and had an apple. She left after 8 and we watched an episode of Big Love. We went to bed not much later, but got into a discussion about Instagram and when he started to get riled up about the policy and I asked him to settle down he told me to shut up and started going off. I rolled over, turned off my light and put my pillow over my head. I wasn’t about to listen to one more word out of his mouth. I was so irritated. I wanted to go sleep in the other room because I thought he was being such an idiot.

Monday 12/17, Home a little early and started on my list of things to do. I emptied my garbage, stripped and washed the guest bedding, cleaned up the dining room, hung a picture and put away my laundry. Eric made cookies and started dinner. We ate a little after 6 then he helped me fold clean sheets and make up the guest bed. We watched an episode of Big Love then I showered and got into bed. I updated this until 10:30 then to bed.

Sunday 12/16, I had some things I wanted to get done so we were up and out the door early. I wanted a pastry so we went up to the French bakery where I got a marionberry and cream cheese croissant that was excellent. We went down to Rainier so I could get my oil changed then up to Capitol Hill so we could go to the Elliott Bay Book Co. where I got some books for Skylar and one in the bargain section for myself. Back at home I called Isi’s app to talk about some stuff, and while I don’t love her, I think she’ll be fine for Isi. I sat down and watched Office and Parks and Rec. I eventually took a nap and had all the dogs relaxing with me. After getting up I got ready to go over to Mom’s for dinner and tree decorating. Kass was late, of course, and we talked about Christmas and timing. We started eating at 7 and she arrived shortly after. Mom made a homemade Caesar dressing, matzo ball soup and Dad got two Zaw pizzas. After dinner we decorated the tree and it was a big one. Eric and I did most of it. After we finished I sat in the living room while Kass and Mom did their puzzle and the boys all watched football. Around 9 we headed home and got ready for bed. Not looking forward to the week ahead.

Saturday 12/15, In the morning Eric was up doing stuff and asked what I wanted to do that day so I told him I wanted to go to an estate sale, Chown and Pratt and Larsen. He said he’d go with me so off we went to the estate sale. There was a cute print, but I didn’t like that it looked cheap when I got there so we left empty handed. We both loved the family room, though. Next we went to P&L and wandered around forever looking at tile. We liked most of the same stuff and I feel like I’m closer to knowing what I want in the new bathrooms. We went to Chown and looked at everything. Found a lot of great stuff, but also overpriced, over the top stuff. There are a few things I will probably get there since mom gets a discount. We went to QFC to pick up stuff for dinner because Sky and Chrystol were coming over for dinner. Eric was making lasagna and wanted to make homemade everything except the pasta. He bought like 18 tomatoes for the sauce, among other things. I did stuff around the house and did some talking with Eric while he cooked. I showered right before they arrived, which was at 7. We sat in the kitchen while Eric finished everything up. Sky made a salad and we sat down to eat. Everything was very good, he made homemade garlic butter too but I wish there had been more bread! I wanted to go to Goodwill to see if I could find more xmas village houses so we took off and I ended up getting only one even though they had like 20. A lot of them looked cheap so we settled on the Resort, with the wrap around porch. Chrystol got a bunch of books and one was about a bone and all the things this little girl does with this bone she finds in the woods. It is so vulgar, I don’t know how it ever got published as a children’s book. Next up was Whole Foods where I got a cookie and Eric was hell bent on eggnog. We went home and sat down to talk and watch tv. SNL was on and it was hilarious (Martin Short). Sky and Chrystol ended up staying for the whole thing. I was exhausted by the time they left and we went to bed.

Friday 12/14, I didn’t write anything down for this day. I was probably tired and still dealing with my sore neck. I assume Eric and I made up from the night before.

Thursday 12/13, I woke up throughout the night with incredible neck pains. Great. I did exercises all day which helped, but it still sucks. After work I came home and called Kass to find out if the party was still happening and she confirmed. I took my time showering and getting ready. I took off by 6:30 ish and traffic sucked across MI as usual. Eric was at an anti-coal rally with Sky at the convention center so he wouldn't be coming. I got there just fine and it looked awesome in there. I said hi to Sky first, then Mom, Akemi and Lynn G. Found Leslie and Meggs and said hi and did pictures. I talked to Daniel B. forever and talked him into buying Kassie's chemistry table with slate sink. Ryan was looking for his buddy, Eric, but I told him he wasn't coming. He introduced me to his "crazy, gay neighbor, Jeremy" who I loved! He showed me the parrot he wanted to buy, but Becky ended up buying out from underneath him. It was a fun night. Lots of chatting with different people. Uncle Brad and Aunt Heidi showed up which was totally awesome. I didn't want to go home but knew I needed to get to bed and get a good night's sleep because of my f-ing neck. I left a little after 9 and had emailed Genie about the app and the fact that she lives in a rental. Bummer. Might not go through now. At home I filled Eric in but then he got all mad about Kassie swearing when I told her Eric was at a rally rather than her party. He started going off and I mostly tuned him out. I emailed Genie again. We went to bed both extremely irritated with each other. I had a much better night's sleep without pain, however.

Wednesday 12/12, Eric had all the Christmas decorations down out of the garage and ready to be put out. We put out the reindeer Mom got us (with embroidered sweaters with our initials) then did the lights on the tree. We decorated and it looked pretty good. We couldn't put any ornaments on the lowest foot of the tree because of Isi. She kept trying to seal the ornaments off the table. Genie was setting up the phone interview with the app. I talked to Mom who'd had another surgery on her jaw and Dad was up in SF for a meeting. We ate dinner late and watched Modern Family. When it was over I showered and we watched the season four finale of Big Love. Went to bed with my neck not feeling great.

Tuesday 12/11, When I got home we chatted for a few minutes before taking off to Whole Foods to get a Christmas tree. We picked a 6' shorty because it was the only one with a shape I liked. I don't like the bushys. We got it tied to the top of the car then headed home and Eric left it in the pool room overnight so it could dry off. We fed the dogs and relaxed for the evening. We watched one episode of Big Love.

Monday 12/10, When I got home I had a lot of work to do in the form of writing Isi's long bio. Eric brought me dinner in the bedroom. I sent out the LB to a new prospective adopter in PDX and she came back with some questions that I answered back. She seems into Isi which makes me glad because I think it's a good app. Eric didn't want to watch Big Love so I hung in the bedroom by myself taking care of my Amex statements and tax summary.

Sunday 12/9, I slept in until 9:30, yikes. I didn’t wake Jess up until after 11. She and Clancy cuddled in bed together with the heating blanket cranked way up. We decided to go up to the French Bakery for lunch and shared two paninis. I got a palmier so she could try it and she said it was better than the Spanish ones, which she hates. Back at home we finished the movie then it was time for her to pack up so we could go up to her Mom’s. We drove up and were looking in the window and knew she was home, but couldn’t see her. Then all of a sudden we hear “Hi!” and she’s standing three feet away; we jumped and screamed. It was hilarious. She totally knew we were going to be coming up which told us someone had squealed. We sat inside and talked for an hour or so. I needed to get going so I left and had a hard time seeing as I drove home in the dark and rain. I was so tired, my eyes were trying to close on the way home. I probably napped when I got home, but I really don’t remember. Eric was home. We took it easy for the night after a busy weekend.

Saturday 12/8, Eric was up early to go run with Peter and Stef and afterward they went and got coffee. I got up after 8 and took the dogs out, fed them, etc. I ate breakfast and figured Jess would be sleeping for awhile. I hung in the bedroom and kept the dogs quiet for most of the morning. Around 10 I stopped worrying and about 15 minutes later went in and woke her up. We went to the blueberry farm for a walk and did two times around and by the end it was raining pretty hard. We both changed and after Eric returned we went to go run some errands. First up was Whole Foods where we got fruit, salads, cookies, kambucha and Jess got some supplements. Next we went up to Super Supplements where Jess loaded up on a ton of other stuff, including stuff to aid in elimination. We found a fiber expert at SS and got Jess all set up. Back at home we ate our lunches and Eric heated up the leftover poutine for me too. Jess made a huge salad and then mixed up some of her fiber dessert. Except it tasted like shit. We were sleepy so we put on a movie and Eric headed to work. We decided on A Good Year, but only made it about halfway through because we needed to start getting ready for dinner and the theater. We got ready and headed out. We parked by the ACT and saw Ken and Linda getting out of the car. Jessica ducked as we whizzed by. We headed up to Cheesecake Factory and saw them in the bar, snuck around and Jess put her hands over his eyes and said in a disguised high pitched voice “Guess who!”. We had practiced in the car and I was going to do it in a super deep man-y voice and sing him a happy birthday rendition sure to knock his socks off. We decided against it. He didn’t seem surprised but he’s not a real exuberant guy, so it wasn’t that out of the ordinary. Dinner was nice and I got a salad that I almost finished. I ended up with just a regular piece of cheesecake which was delicious. I was glad I didn’t get one with a whole bunch of shit on it, though some fresh blueberries would have been delicious. We finished up and walked over to ACT for the Christmas Carol or whatever it’s called. It was entertaining but I was very tired and couldn’t stop yawning. It was fun. After the show we all walked to the cars together and said goodbye. We drove home but stopped by Eric’s work on the way home and picked him up so he didn’t have to ride his bike. We put on our movie again but Jess fell asleep. I started getting ready for Kristel’s birthday party and told Jess she didn’t have to go if she didn’t want to, but she said her nap refreshed her and she wanted to go. We took off for Rockbox after 11 and found decent parking, by Capitol Hill standards. When I got there the only people I knew were Kristel and Troy. Apparently Kristel didn’t know anyone either and some friend had invited all his coworkers from his Christmas party. It was a little slow to start but soon Jessica and Vin were picking out songs to sing together. Vin loved using his secret microphone to start singing with whoever was singing if they weren’t doing a very good job, and the Asian guy was very exasperated that someone was singing with him to HIS song. Looking around frantically trying to figure out who was singing with him. We were dying. We closed the place down and headed home. We were all very tired. Eric had to be up early the next day for work.

Friday 12/7, I had to get up super early to take P to the airport, but was able to get off early too. I went home and picked up Eric and we headed to the airport to pick up Jessica. We got to the airport just as she was getting out to the curb so we didn't have to park. It took us a while to get home but we filled the time with a lot of catching up and chatting. At home Jess hopped in the shower and Eric went to the store to get stuff to make veggie enchiladas. I showered after Jess. We sat in the kitchen with Eric while he cooked and just talked. I pumped Jessica up with vitamins and medicine since she wasn't feeling very good. We ate out in the living room while we sat talking and half watching tv. Jessica was going to eat half the pan of enchiladas and Eric made a joke. We stayed up until 10:30 or so then all turned in. Jess was happy about the heating blanket on her bed.

Thursday 12/6, I had plans to meet with Kristel later that evening for dinner. I showered and got ready and made it to her place by exactly 6:45. We chatted while she showered and changed and I told her I kind of had some stories, but not anything all that good. We took off for Skillet and circled the block several times looking for parking before she finally dropped me off to put in our name. We ended up sitting at the bar, which was just fine. I told her my stories (RH Eric correspondence and reading about Ian posts) and she filled me in on some of hers, including how things with Troy are going and also some drama with her friend whose name starts with a B (a guy). Toward the end of our meal B showed up for dinner with someone else and it was like "awkward...". Dinner was fantastic and I got the macaroni. It was delish. We went back to her house and laid on the floor, talking about relationships and sex and boys vs girls and jealousy and all that. I am so not a jealous person, she is the opposite, self-addmitted. At 10:30 I finally headed home. Eric was up and I told him about dinner. We went to bed not much later.

Wednesday 12/5, Got home and Eric had just returned from a run. My goal was to get Isi’s bio done and it ended up not taking too long and I got it submitted. The people that Genie thought would be interested in her ended up not being interested because she’s too tiny. They want a little bigger girl. Eric left to go to an event at the Bellevue Art Museum about coal or something. I stayed home, updated this and read old blogs. Deep into the Ian months and waiting to find where I played with fire with RH Eric. I was so smitten with Ian. Those were some good times. Eric got home around 9:30 and wanted me to think about making the house more sustainable and brought home materials.

Tuesday 12/4, Kind of annoyed at work for the past two days. When I got home I was on a mission to get Isi’s image event set up. Eric and I took turns taking pictures and ended up getting some decent ones. I set everything up and let Genie know because there’s a new potential app in the mix on Vashon. The prior Port Angeles app fell through. Eric heated up some dinner for me and I continued doing stuff online. He also made brownies and I had one. I reviewed old blogs and posted some. Eric left to go play soccer with Sky at Marymoor and I watched Breakfast Club. The dogs cuddled with me on the bed. By 11 he still wasn’t home and I got ready to turn in.

Monday 12/3, I wasn’t feeling great at work so I ended up leaving early and stopped at the store on the way home to pick up stuff for a turkey dinner, which Eric offered to make. Turkeys were too expensive so I got a large organic chicken instead. Saved $15 going that route. When I got home I took the dogs out and just as I got back inside Eric came home and told me to get in bed and relax. I showered, put on my pajamas, turned on the heating blanket and climbed in. Eric took care of the dogs and making dinner and brought it to me in bed. I went over old blogs and was dying. Trying to make my way through all the old RH Eric ones, which basically is through 2007. We decided to watch an episode of Big Love before bed.

Sunday 12/2, Eric had the day off, but we decided to wait on getting the tree until the next weekend. Isi continued to do well. I cleaned my bathroom then got ready to go to Susan’s. We chatted and worked on putting some coverings on her windows. She filled me in on her Oly escapade with a very eager (in a good way) guy. We went to the GO where I mostly behaved myself and spent probably the least amount of money ever. We had a good time and got in plenty of girl talk. When I got home Eric unpacked all the stuff. He made some delicious goulash for dinner, though it wasn’t as good as Peter’s. A little while later I propositioned him so we hopped in the shower and did stuff. It was 10:30; I was tired and went to bed, he wasn’t tired at all so he went and hung out in the den.

Saturday 12/1, We were both tired but had to get up because we needed to meet Julee to pick up Isi. Luckily we were meeting her close to the house. We met Isi and she was a tiny thing and very sweet; not jumpy or freaked out. We saw the other puppies and met Balboa too. Vespa, Genie’s new tri-pawd puppy was adorable. Genie and Dave arrived and we talked for a long time in the Safeway parking lot. Genie was having a hard time with adoption stuff and was feeling overwhelmed. We took off for home and when we got there we let Isi get settled then introduced her to Clancy and that went well. I hung with the other dogs and Eric spent time with her in the den. Eric went to work at 2 and I started taking a nap prior to his departure at 1. I stayed in bed forever and finally got up around 3. I took off for Ambiente or whatever it’s called, to look at tile and saw a few that I liked, but it was more just to get an idea of what’s available up here. I really liked some of the tile I saw in CA. Back at home I showered and started getting ready then RH Eric texted that he had to work a double and told me to check out his restaurant online. I made ramen for dinner and hung out. I did introductions with Brizo and Nyx and everything went fine. I left everyone out together and continued reading blogs for the rest of the night. By this point I had made my way through the RH Eric disappearance and estrangement and had all sorts of questions for him. They’d have to wait until we actually meet up, which will hopefully be soon. I need answers! Eric got home around 10 and I ended up staying up super late. I was not tired; too engulfed in the blog reading. I finally forced myself to turn off the computer at 2am. Eric had been asleep since 11:30.
